Many universities are starting Bsc Anatomy programme with no job prospects for gradauates. Cadavers as learning resources shouid be devoted to teaching of medical students.

Why?

Imagine this. The government spends billions subsidizing education for you all, free primary school, free secondary school, cheap universities(compared to other countries) in the hope that when you graduate, you will advance the country but you want to travel out (japa) with all the financial commitments the government have done for you and you still expect this same government to make it easy for you to travel out?

Imagine you spend money sending a woman/man to school thinking when done two of you can marry and be happy but alas, the person falls in love with someone else and says you are below his/her standard but still expects you to foot the wedding bill.

Or you as MD spends money training staff and the staff decides to just up and leave yet expects you to pay for transportation to the new firm.

The Nigerian government owes you nothing in this IELTS fight.

You must be wrong. People who train MD are MD remember. I was at department of medicine today no light. all the consultant have japa.

Its not easy to become a pharmacist in usa or canada with a Bpharm degree from nigeria.. Are you sure canada accept the BPharm degree?? I doubt it.
PharmD degree are owned by genius. You'll have to get the Bpharm then, msc in pharmacy, phd in pharmacy before you get the BPharm.. Just a BPharm degree wont ginger them enough to accept student, atleast a msc might. I know what some international student face, some get through, some dont.
If you had started the bsc programme in usa or canada, it wld hve been easier to proceed, but with a BPharm here, I dont think even the canada you mentioned will or do you know anyone who did it smoothly?
I also heard international students must spend 5yrs for their bsc programme before they'll accept them for msc, but you can check out this top pharmacy universities and talk to their international studnt advisor maybe they can assist you

Too many ignoramuses on this thread!

For those seeking to know, please be informed that NOBODY ELSE studies and knows pharmacology better than a Pharmacist! Only BSc holders who have gone further to do a PhD can measure up to an average BPharm graduate in the knowledge of pharmacology....fact!

Studying pharmacy in good schools is so didactic that you hardly finds a graduated pharmacist who's lacking in knowledge of not only pharmacology but all the other disciplines that make up pharmacy. If I don't know how people pass through these BSc courses with Es, Ds, "sorting" etc, then I would have assumed any serious studies take place there, but I know better!

As far as I am concerned, BSc degrees in all the "logies" and "mistries" like pharmacology, biochemistry etc impart only little or no knowledge! Come with a PhD and maybe then we can talk!

This is totally wrong you can't know more than a major in his field. That's why pfizer employs Pharmacologist with PhD. But a a degree level no, it's their major, they know more.

Unclesmart12:
I met this girl few weeks ago online and we kinda vibed instantly, a couple of weeks later she came over to my house for weekend and we had sex the first night. I asked her about her relationship status later and she said she was in a relationship, though she doesn't love the guy.

She showed me proof of countless times she's told the guy the truth but he would always persuade her to stay with him with hope that she would warm up to him. So she stayed since he was paying the bills.

I can't tell her to leave the guy because I am not ready to pay any bills for anybody now. Just like most Nigerian girls she gets lots of calls, but one made me upset this night.

She was on call with a guy for almost an hour, from the tone of the conversation the guy might just be a friend, because the gist was centered around school and other random stuff. I felt she disrespected me by staying so long on a call and I made my feelings known when she was done. She got moody and stopped talking to me afterwards.

She finished cooking and dished mine in a separate plate even though we have been eating together since she came. She placed the food on the bed without notifying me and went on to eat hers alone. I tried to adjust and kicked the plate away breaking it in the process.

I packed the food and threw it into the trash can, she immediately went to the kitchen and dropped hers too. Took her bath and went to bed, though I know she's not sleeping.

She's supposed to go tomorrow morning and I intend deleting her contact after she leaves, however I really like her. I've not met someone I liked in a while. I don't wanna beg her since I didn't do anything wrong. Or was my reaction to the call extreme??

Should just free her or attempt talking to her?
How do I approach it without coming off as weak?

Hello Nairalanders,

So straight to the point. Please I need your advice about two things.

1. I just got my inheritance and I got cash of 8M and there's this popular belief of people squandering their inheritance,I don't want that to be my portion so which business can I invest it into. For context, I currently have a job and I'm not ready to quit so please put that into consideration.

2. My younger brother is still a student so he has asked me to save his portion of 6M in bank until he graduates but I don't think that's a good idea. I would rather he put it in some form of secure investment that will be yielding something. Kindly give us suggestions.

May the soul of my beloved Father continue to rest in peace. Amen
You shouldn't dictate for your brother your greed is so ernomous.

Anyways you can keep the money in USD don account or USDT against naira errosion.

I read about someone that think he/she has heart disease yesterday.
I was in the same situation.
3 years ago, I was having some issues with my health.
Though I felt I was fine but the issue I had is I don't urinate well. No matter the amount of water I drank (5litres daily), I will only pass a very concentrated and little urine (less than half litres daily). The urine can be so deep yellow, almost red color.
I did some test when it first occur but I was told I don't have any problem. My kidneys are fine.
After some months (like 7months later), I urinate well again, 3 months ago, the problem arises again and this time it's more severe.
I was scared to go for kidney test again but yesterday I took a bold step to seek for a neprologist consultant.
No matter what the result is, I believe I'll overcome it.
My advice for the op that is scared to go for heart scan is that he/she should take a bold step to know his/her problem.
I know it's not easy but we have no choice.

Right now, I'm scared I may have issue with my kidneys and I know it's not something easy to treat coz I don't have the resources (finances) to tackle such health issue but I know God will be there for me.

The first 3 pictures are my kidney function test result 3 years ago
The 4th picture is the step I took 2 days ago

Please stop yarning nonsense about pharmacology, Pathology maybe, but pharmacology please don't even compete with a pharmacist in that area. Pharmacology and toxicology is what it is called in pharmacy and it is studied in depth in any school of pharmacy from year 3 till final year, you don't just study pharmacodynamics and the pharmacokinetics, pharmacists go ahead to study the structure and establish a relationship between the pharmacology and the chemical structure of the drug. Please don't go there, because it is lumped up for you to do in just a year makes you think it's such a big deal. It is just a part of the curriculum of the B.pharm degree, the statement that we don't carry Katzung, G &G and the rest shows how naive you are.
Please ask your senior colleagues, the pharmacist is the drug expert in the health profession, in the hospital where I work, doctors come to us for drug information and it's understandable and we don't brag about it.
Pharm no let them stress u

A compounder provide solution to drug therapy issues. Patients who couldn't take a particular medication, for example paracetamol is sugar based that white powder tablet is mostly sugar lactose like your table sugar, only small active ingredient are there in that particular dosage.

Pharmacist compound in hospitals, but why haven't we seen much standalone compounding Pharmacist.

A compounding Pharmacist once saved a life of a physician who didn't want NSAIDS and ibuprofen etc. This compunder had to change and formulate an entire dosage form to a topical cream which he applied to his foot pain and it was gone in days.

Hello House,
Please I have a dicey situations here, can you give your input.
After concluding my youth service at Firm ABC in Lagos, the company wanted to retain me with a gross salary of 100k, but I don't want the job, I am an engineering graduate with average skills and so much potentials. I hate the job just because of it's description, it is base on trial and error and sometimes a lot of energy and effort is used to deliver some services, Moreover, the job is frustrating and tiring and also I don't think I see any likelihood of carrier growth from that job; because as an engineer you are to work under the supervision of a registered engineer before you get COREN certification.

Then, company CDE gave me another offer for 70k Gross, and the company is Telecoms company and I see a lot of potential with this new company, though the pay is something else.

So, please I need some experts views, comments and recommendations; which one should I go for?

Please go for the company where there is career development.

Pharmacy is broad most Lecturers have advised us to pick a career now and not be the lost dog.
Education / Re: 6 Advantage Of HND Over BSC You Should Know by nurain150(m): 1:11am On Jan 02, 2022
That's fallacy of hasty generalization. I graduated from FUTA. And I can say authoritatively that an average FUTA student is better than an average UNILAG. Unilag gets hype because of its location. To further buttress my point, during my 400level IT, we worked at a multinational company and during practicals and handling equipment we were better than your students. In fact unilag students confessed they had never handled microscope before. Meanwhile I learnt how to handle microscope in the polytechnic. By the grace of God, I also graduated with distinction in the poly even when the dept had not produce distinction for the past 5 years. I could have made first class too in the university but for wrong calculation and intellectual laziness on the part of the exam and record officer. Giving one's score to another without rechecking. Still I had s cgpa above 86%.

Most of the course we did in 400 and 500 levels were what we had done in ND 2.

One major advantage of the university is that students are exposed to a wide area of field through borrowed and elective courses while in polytechnic you face squarely your field of study.

University students therefore will have an idea of most many field of study but polytechnic students will have a depth understanding of an area of study

I repeat again, who you are is more important than what you have.

its unfortunate that we (bsc holders in microbiology & biochemistry) can't sue you guys to court. it would be interesting to see the the kind if judgement the courts will give in a case between AMLSN/MLSCN vs NSM/NSBMB. The idea that a microbiologist/biochemist (bsc) can't work in a medical laboratory is appalling. there's nowhere in the world concessions are not made for bsc holders to follow the biomedical career path. its only in Nigeria that you guys come up with convoluted arguments tojustify an absurd idea. smh! too bad

A pharmacist can work in a lab too. We do Malaria testing practical even phhsicians and every other person at some point we take microbiology courses that dont make me a MLS.

Let's be guided. Research Lab which the hospitals supposed to have is where Biochemistry microbiologist are employed.

It's lack of good management by NMA people tho. Of recent they gave them money for molecular lab they spent it
