Car Talk › Re: Btw The Rx330 And Venza by nurey(m): 7:39am On Dec 25, 2025 |
Both cars are top notch in their category. Venza is more recent 2009 vs RX330 that ended in 2006.
Venza 2.7L i4 engine is good on gas and still potent, has less ground clearance than Rx which makes it drive more like a sedan though it is a Camry wagon replacement.
If your road area is bad, the Rx is more practical, also has more cargo space with premium interior.
The Rx 3.3L engine is steel, so it may not fail total if it overheat but I don't like timing belt much and it is also an interference engine, so ensure to do preventative maintenance if you later get it.
Venza has a 2grfe 3.5L V6 engine which is very popular and solid. |

Techie25: I don't do much, I don't game or use heavy apps.
Mainly crypto, airdrops, And that requires keeping sometimes shuffling between over 30+ tabs open
But then in the long run I might still learn a tech skill(Video editing or Ai) so I don't worry myself on getting another PC by then. Windows is mostly for gamers and productivity users like corporations who need server needs and other internet based services. If you are not any of those, Mac OS is good, though Linux would have been better but then the adoption is very low then customer service or technical assistance is limited. |
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by nurey(m): 4:41pm On Dec 14, 2025 |
I Temitope2000: Hello good evening chiefs. I'm planing on carrying out engine repairs on my Honda accord 2006 4 cylinder K24 A.
The main problems are engine smoking and very poor gas mileage.
No driveability issues just that I'd like to restore the engine life (currently at 170k miles).
What I've found so far: 1. Greyish smoke on cold start that reduces after engine warms up, also happens when revving at idle. Exhaust pipe is greasy black - No CatCon, no 02 sensor either upstream or downstream. 2. Recurrent misfire in cylinders 3 and 4 despite swapping ignition coil and changing spark plugs (I usually replace both everytime the code returns). Spark plug 3 has moderate oily carbon buildup on the tip, while cylinder 4 spark plug mostly has dry carbon residue. No oil on any of the ignition coil 3. Excessive oil burn - sometimes **UP TO 2L PER 80 MILES**. 4. Coolant (water) level is not concerning. 5. PCV valve is venting the crankcase very well - negative pressure at oil cap 6. Compression test not yet done 7. Car idles smoothy at about 1100rpm - done idle relearn twice, no significant change. 8. Car moves reasonably well, accelerates, climbs hills, and changes gear smoothly. Only drops rpm with shuddering when AC is on while on Drive in traffic. Picks up when speed increases. 9. Very poor gas mileage - 12 - 17mpg
What I want to fix: 1. Fix engine smoking and service engine 2. Check fuses and relays and fix any broken one 3. Install upstream O2 sensor 4. Install ECT sensor 1
Please I need the contact of any good and reasonably priced ringmaster in Ondo for the engine work. The mechanic that I approached said he can ring it and the engine will work well but it will be vibrating . That's not reassuring for me. So, abeg link me up Save UpTo 700 to 800k and go buy tokunbo engine for Oyingbo or Ladipo. Use 400 to 500 buy engine the remaining balance for workmanship and your hotel bills. |

Appreciate the support guys Pick Honda CR-V which is top in it's class. Tucson should be option B Santa Fe is bigger, comes in 3.3L V6 WITH THIRD ROW options not good on gas compared to the first two. Ford edge isn't bad but needs more attention and the internal water pump is a nightmare |

1. Sack farming, cost effective and utilizes the land area, you can plant yam in the sacks and get high yield
2. vegetable farming but needs and attendant to water it and look after daily. They grow with minimal spacing needed, they are short term, 1 month to three months and they are profitable.
3. green house farming, profitable but expensive to set up. |

Donald3d: Thank you for the recommendation. I already tried all . The sensor is very hard to find, except I buy the aftermarket model. I have two that failed within a very short time. You shouldn't have issue with this particular model because I use a very rare Honda model and I was still able to find my oxygen sensor though tried as I may, I didn't get the A\F sensor. I got my sensor from "FONIALTO" the guy stays at lekki and delivers only. Though the last time I buzzed him he said he wanted to stop importing for Honda because of price and patronage as most Honda sensors stays longer in his hands. |
Car Talk › Re: Tell Us Your Car Faults. Let's Assess And Fix Them by nurey(m): 6:55am On Sep 18, 2025 |
Leonyluiz: Does this have any side effects?
I've read on here about anything not actual catalyst causing a blockage and eventually damaging the engine. Spacer does not in anyway clog the flow of exhaust it is just like a threading for the bolting of Oxygen sensor. The spacer moves the O2 sensor away from the exhaust gas pathway just enough to fool the ECU that the catalyst is still very okay. Just Google O2 spacer you will learn something, infact you can even have a panel\welder do one for you not a must to buy the expensive OEM units for outdated cars. |

Leonyluiz: Thanks for your response.
The P0420 is showing because there is no catalyst. It has the k24 engine.
The fuel economy on the dash suddenly drops from 19mpg average to 6.5mpg and black smoke starts. you will need to by O2 spacer, your issues stems from the catalyst inefficiency code, either you buy a replacement catalyst or get an O2 spacer to fool the ECU. |

Leonyluiz: Good day my people. I recently purchased a clean nig used 2008 acura tsx. Spent a lot of money putting it together and making sure all is well but it is barely a month and the fuel consumption is scarily high and whenever i go long journey, the engine stalls a bit and the rpm drops to like 400 and eventually black smoke starts. Keep in mind i changed everything that was diagnosed from scanning all o2 sensors and other components except buy a catalyst. What could be wrong. Please help. Appreciate Start by scanning the vehicle again then work with the codes given. Especially P0420 catalyst inefficiency. But scan and drop the codes here then we can guide you also have you done a tune up? Plug change Recommended tire size Good fuel Etc What engine is in your TSX? |

OEM part number is 36531-RAA-A01 or 36531-RAA-A02 after market part number 234-9040 nah wetin you go carry enter market to buy be this, because there are so many k20 and k24 sensor for several cars that they can give you which will never work with your vehicle because honda sensors are specific. |

Mineisgrace: I have a small Ox standing fan I bought in 2022. So recently, we got a solar installation. It was blowing so fast and nice. Few weeks after using it with solar it stopped working.
We asked a maintaince man to help us check it out, he said we are going to buy a Capacitor. I paid and after fixing it the capacito, the fan still didn't work. He now said we are going to have to change the coil.
So I want to ask people who have changed a coil before, if it's worth it. Hope if they rewire or change the coil, it will work well and not get spoilt quickly? the OX fan is a fake fan, i bought two of them probably in 2023 or 2024, both had issues and i had to recoil it locally first cost me 5k, second cost me 6k. they are both in storage now i dey find person to offload am to. No 1 just started smoking one day and refused to work, No 2 doesnt even blow like fan sef, also the plastic blade is crap, gets broken easily. i bought one used old Binatone standing fan from the repairer for 5k, fixed my 8yrs old electric fan. But currently heat never dey like that, but i get ceiling fan join. I bought those crap because the house i was given then had no fan. |
