I understand buying a car is a major purchase for any Nigerian. But at the same time

If 5 percent of all car owners in Nigeria have a Nigeria Made car , things goes improve in Nigeria significantly. The problem with Nigerians is that we complain about the government decisions on the economy but our spending habits is very bad to our economy.

You are still blaming Nigerians for lambasting the government, the truth of the matter is the gov has a major role to play in the lives of the citizens, bad policy, bad governance is what has led us to where we are.

In other places people use loans to get new vehicles, even trade in old to get new same cannot be said for us. Innoson pays huge amount to get forex to import some parts needed, pays heavily on custom duty which are now passed onto consumers.

If the price of brand-new innosonn vehicle tallies with average price of Tokunbo, then many would rather buy new vehicles.

About 90% of Nigerian automobile buyers can only afford used vehicles. Innoson doesn't sell used vehicles but brand-new ones.

Also we have what is called comparative advantage, which Nigerian automobile manufacturers\assemblage doesn't have against other countries.

I don't understand is the headlamp of the vehicle not working?

1. Driver should know and see objects floating in the water, the type of object (plastic dustbin etc) has already told you the level of water a sedan can wade in.

2. The headlamp will tell you the water level is dangerous. When water is covering the headlamps desist from moving further.

3. When water has engulfed your vehicle to a dangerous level, switch off ignition even if you can't park to oneside. Anything that makes water to get close to the bonnet is dangerous for air intake which will send water into the engine.

4. He should have seen other vehicles and objects by the road, immediately he shouldn't have enter that huge level of water.

If he switched off the car, it would be okay as long as no be salt water, he just need to check all fluid, if water has entered he will drain and refill.

I don't doubt that model for that price though, the last one I saw was a 450 for 4m but had plethora of issues.

1. Maintenance cost is extremely high
2. The balloon shocks (air suspension) would frustrate the owner
3. Running cost is high {fuelling, fluid changes and parts like tyre etc)

Not one of the best for making a statement, the design is just there. If you are buying because it Is cheap, ensure to inspect it well, what you save in purchase will be balanced at the repair shop.

Go for Camry, Hyundai engines of that era were plagued with reliability issues. Coupled with it being naija used

well, I would have gone for the RX but it's too common in my state and it's usually associated with yahoo boys. Besides I already have the ES 350. I just want something classy and unique. You can also suggest a classy SUV apart from the ones I mentioned but not the RX please.

Then buy the RX350 which is a luxurious version of the highlander. If you need the cargo and 3rd row of the Lexus then a 2017 to 19 "RX350 L" will suffice

All your choices are good though in different categories.
ML350 is a luxury SUV (though I believe mini considering the Gwagon and GL-class)

Highlander is a CUV (luxurious version would be a Lexus RX)

The GX is a luxurious SUV (may not be full size considering the bigger bro LX series)

Reliability highlander no hanky panky or much of high-end electricals compared to the rest

Luxury the GX460 is a master in that class a little better than the ML

Maintenance the highlander would be cheaper has an hybrid variant for fuel economy the 3.5L V6 or 2.7L i4 in the ICE is fuel efficient for it's size. Also no luxury attached meaning parts would be priced cheaper across board.

Top pick the highlander has consistently been the top of it's class among the competition coming second behind Lexus RX of same year.

Practicality the highlander wins here, it has a third row seat though may not have enough leg room as the others, also may not be voluminous in terms of cargo but would get the job done. Also has a AWD that is potent enough to get you through most terrain though not built for offloading compared to the GX.

Verdict if you want something more upscale than regular vehicles with a little touch of luxury and comfort the highlander with a touring or XLE trim would be idle enough.

Yes the 2015 design has been running for 10years now.

The body parts are expensive because 2015 body like doors, headlamps, windscreen fork for the 2025 model. Just minor changes and cosmetic facelifts.

Also since they didn't sell it in US, parts are majorly brand-new so expect high prices.

It shares chassis with Hilux so suspension parts maybe cost effective. That 4cylinder 2TR take good care of it because the price fit Kee person even the 4.0L 1GR engine too cost

The Fortuner body parts are insanely expensive.

Luxury I give it to the MDX, it is also reliable but not as much as the Fortuner.

Can't talk much on the Fortuner cause the ones we have are brand-new but they rarely give issues
