How often do you change used tyre compared to new tires?

Most used tires hardly pass 6-7months before going bad. Surprisingly its now above 30k for used old tyre.

how did you determine the bolded? cause i have not used tokunbo tyre less than 2years, it never even spoil on motion, i just change it when i noticed manufactured date don reach like 10years or the thread don chop.

i got two new tires for my sister 235/65R16 for 150k in MAY i think they were RoadX brand, i shock.

To tune up car no go dey reach like 300 to 500k this renewed shege don dey renew our wallet

Please when should one change transmission oil? I want to change transmission oil for lexus es350 but I'm afraid not to start having transmission issues after changing oil. The current transmission oil should be up to 3 years. Although I rarely drive the car, it is usually parked. There is no way to check the oil, I don't know whether to replace the transmission oil or leave it oh. Thanks

You can change the fluid if

1. You can get the genuine replacement fluid from a vendor

2. Ensure the technician carrying out the change uses a clean environment cause dirt like sand, metal shavings and other foreign object are the major causes of the failure of that transmission.

3. If you don't change the fluid, the transmission may still have issues because the fluid may be low or lose its potency due to aging.

Changing is good but ensure to follow necessary requirements to change it.

So, my car (Cla 250 2016 ) battery died from sitting idle for two weeks, and after jump-starting it, the car won't go out from park. As a matter of fact it been stuck in park for the last 3 days now , So I called a mechanic , but the Guy is telling me it's a transmission ism issue. Honestly, I'm just so confused right now.


So I had to take the car in to one Mercedes repair center and they gave me that bill

I am not a conversant with benz though. But the first thing you should check yourself is if when you press the brake, does the lights come on, some face that issue where the brake sensor isnt making the gear register to shift.

But for me, you have an electrical issue which can point to the problem if you can get a workshop with the right diagnostic machine, they can check continuity in the wires, check the necessary fuses, test the TCM modules to pinpoint your issues. A valve body wont stop the gear from not switching from park or neutral.

get a 3rd opinion and ensure an part replaced is handed to you because i smell foul play

go and find the price of complete gearbox replacement and guage them side by side to know which is better. Buying tokunbo complete gear is safer than changing valve body

It is not a brand new vehicle, even if the inspection is supper, cars will have trouble here and there but not trouble that will need toyota japan to send a technician to fix. just ensure
1. The drive train is well inspected by your mechanic (engine and transmission) those are very expensive to replace

2. VIN check to asertain level of damage the car had if it was a salvaged title. Stay away from flooded cars that the water level passed the door window, chassis damaged or bent.

3. I always change my fluid after i buy a car after 6months (trasmission fluid, brake fluid, steering fluid etc) so i can monitor the maintenance as we dont know when the last user did those.

4. Check the timing belt and fan belt, depends on which was fitted in the vehicle, most tokunbo have the change history but if not available, check just to be sure.

5. Any work to be done especially suspension and fluid change should be done in a very clean environment, dirt is the major Achilles foot of the transmission of that vehicle

6. The steering is EPS please always avoid wadding in pool of water, the EPS hates water.

2007 and i am using the oil the previous owner was using, total classic sae-40.

Last i changed it was in June.

stop using that total variant, it is not meant for vehicle engines please. Also your change interval is very high, with the oil you are using and your change interval, your engine would already be filled with sludge which will reduce the life span drastically.

buy Total quartz 5000 (20w50) or Mobil Xhp (20w50) and only use these oils for either 3 months or 3000km which ever comes first, if you stick to these maintenance interval, the sludge in your engine would reduce if it has sludge already.

yes the camry is very good make it 05 or 06 model years. But have in mind those vehicles are robber magnet, engine of the 4cylinder burns oil, those vehicle shocks arent that strong. i would say find

09-11 honda accord
08 to 2010 kia/Hyundai optima/sonata
08 to 11 kia forte/cerato and buy instead

I own a Lexus Es350 2011 that I've been servicing with Mobil 1 5w30

But the Mobil filling station in my vicinity relocated without telling me 🤲

I'm planning to switch to a much more readily available brand like Hardex 5w30, as that's more convenient than having to order Mobil 1 from vendors or online every time I want to service my car.

Can I go ahead to make this change without any effect to the car?

I have my reservation about hardex oil but getting Mobil oil shouldn't be that scarce in your state. But try Castrol oils like Edge brand
