Al QURAN

Surah 17:
Al-Isra (The Night Journey, Children Of Israel)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Verses

22. Take not with Allah another object of worship; or thou (O man!) wilt sit in disgrace and destitution.

23. Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour.

24. And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: "My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood."

25. Your Lord knoweth best what is in your hearts: If ye do deeds of righteousness, verily He is Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him again and again (in true penitence).

26. And render to the kindred their due rights, as (also) to those in want, and to the wayfarer: But squander not (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift.

27. Verily spendthrifts are brothers of the Evil Ones; and the Evil One is to his Lord (himself) ungrateful.

28. And even if thou hast to turn away from them in pursuit of the Mercy from thy Lord which thou dost expect, yet speak to them a word of easy kindness.

29. Make not thy hand tied (like a niggard's) to thy neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach, so that thou become blameworthy and destitute.

30. Verily thy Lord doth provide sustenance in abundance for whom He pleaseth, and He provideth in a just measure. For He doth know and regard all His servants.

31. Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a great sin.

32. Nor come nigh to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils).

33. Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him nor exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law).

34. Come not nigh to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength; and fulfil (every) engagement, for (every) engagement will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).

35. Give full measure when ye measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight: that is the most fitting and the most advantageous in the final determination.

36. And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning).

37. Nor walk on the earth with insolence: for thou canst not rend the earth asunder, nor reach the mountains in height.

38. Of all such things the evil is hateful in the sight of thy Lord.

39. These are among the (precepts of) wisdom, which thy Lord has revealed to thee. Take not, with Allah, another object of worship, lest thou shouldst be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected.

Its good to share one of the names of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

Given my name, sometimes I wonder if I am able to project the light of Islam as it should be.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

1. A. L. M.

2. Allah. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-Subsisting, Eternal.

3. It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).

4. Then those who reject Faith in the Signs of Allah will suffer the severest penalty, and Allah is Exalted in Might, Lord of Retribution.

5. From Allah, verily nothing is hidden on earth or in the heavens.

6. He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He pleases. There is no god but He, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Maybe because at birth, they named me Durojaiye ( wait to enjoy the world )

I copied this from a website. It may answer your questions.

For the benefit of Muslims here are the different verses where prostration is recommended. We will start in order from the beginning off the Holy Quran to the end:

Al-A'raf (Chapter 7, Verse 206):
"Those who are near to your Lord, disdain not to do Him worship; they celebrate His Praises and to Him they prostrate themselves."

Al-Ra'd (chapter 13, Verse 15):
"Whatever beings there are in the heavens and the earth do prostrate themselves to Allah with goodwill or inspite of themselves: so do their shadows in the mornings and evenings."

Al-Nahl (Chapter 16, Verses 49-50):
"And unto Allah prostrate all that is in heavens and on earth, whether moving living creatures or the angels: for none are arrogant (before their Lord). They all fear their Lord High above them, and they do all that they are commanded."

Al-Israa' (Chapter 17, Verses 107-109):
"Say: 'Whether you believe in it or not' It is true that these who were given knowledge beforehand, when it is recited to them fall down on their faces in humble prostration and they say: 'Glory to our Lord. Truly the promise of our Lord has been fulfilled.' They fall down on their faces in tears, and it increases their earnest humility."

Maryam (Chapter 19, Verse 58):
"Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah bestowed His Grace of the posterity of Adam, and of those whom We carried (in the Ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Ibrahim and Israel - of those whom We guided and chose; whenever the Signs of Allah Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears."

Al-Hajj (Chapter 22, Verse 18):
"Don't you see that to Allah bow down in worship all things that are in the heavens and on earth - the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the animals, and a great number among mankind? But a great number are also such as are fit for punishment: and such as Allah shall disgrace, none can raise to honor: for Allah carried out all that He wills."

Al-Hajj (chapter 22, verse 77):
"O you who believe! Bow down, prostrate yourselves, and worship your Lord; and do good so that you may prosper."

Al-Furqan (Chapter 25, Verse 60):
"When it is said to them: 'Prostrate yourselves to the Most Gracious', they say: 'What is the Most Gracious? Shall we prostrate ourselves to that which you command us?' And it increases their flight from the Truth."

Al-Naml (Chapter 27, Verses 2-27):
"I found there a woman ruling over them provided with every requisite; and she has a magnificent throne. I found her and her people prostrating themselves to the sun away from Allah; the Devil has made their deeds seem pleasing to their eyes, and has kept them away from the Path - so they receive no guidance - that they should not prostrate themselves to Allah, Who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you hide and what you reveal. Allah! there is no god but He! Lard of the Throne Supreme."

Al-Sajdah (chapter 32, Verse 15):
"Only those who believe in Our Signs, who, when they are reminded of them (through recitation) fall down in prostration and celebrate the praises of their Lord; nor are they (ever) puffed up with pride."

Saad (Chapter 38, Verse 24):
"(Dawood) said: 'He has undoubtedly wronged you in demanding your single ewe to be added to his flock of ewes; truly many are the partners who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are, they?' Dawood then gathered that We had tried him: so he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down bowing in prostration and turned to Allah in repentance."

Fussilat (Chapter 41, Verses 37-38):
"And among His Signs are the Night and the Day, and the Sun and the Moon. Don't prostrate yourselves to the Sun and the Moon, but prostrate to Allah, who created them if it is Him you wish to worship. If however, they are arrogant, those who are in the presence of your Lord celebrate His praises by night and by day and they never flag."

Al-Najm (Chapter 53, Verse 62):
"Do you then wonder at this recital? And will you laugh and not weep, wasting your time in vanities? Rather fall down in prostration to Allah and worship Him (alone)!"

Al-lnshiqaq (Chapter 84, Verse 21):
"What then is the matter with them, that they do not believe? And when the Quran is recited to them they fall not prostrate?'

Al-'Alaq (Chapter 96, Verse 19):
"Knows he not that Allah does see? Nay. let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock - a lying, sinful forelock! Then let him call for help to his council (of comrades): We will call on the angels of punishment. Nay: had him not. But bow down in prostration and bring yourself the closer (to Allah)."

Qur'an 4 Surah An-Nisaa (The Women) Vs

1. O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allâh through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allâh is Ever an All-Watcher over you.

174. O mankind! verily there hath come to you a convincing proof from your Lord: for We have sent unto you a light (that is) manifest.

175. Then those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him soon will He admit them to Mercy and Grace from Him and guide them to Himself by a straight Way.

Quran Ch. 3, Surat Al-Imran

1. A. L. M. ( Only Allah knows the perfect meaning of this abbreviations)

2. Allah. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-Subsisting, Eternal.

3. It is He Who sent down to thee (Muhammad), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).

7. He it is Who has sent down to thee ( O Muhammad ) the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding.

8. "Our Lord!" (they say), "Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure.

9. "Our Lord! Thou art He that will gather mankind Together against a day about which there is no doubt; for Allah never fails in His promise."

10. Those who reject Faith,- neither their possessions nor their (numerous) progeny will avail them aught against Allah. They are themselves but fuel for the Fire.

Quran Ch. 19 Surat Maryam Vs

27. Then she brought him (the baby) to her people, carrying him. They said: "O Mary! Indeed you have brought a thing Fariya (an unheard mighty thing).

28. "O sister (i.e. the like) of Hârûn (Aaron) [not the brother of Mûsa (Moses), but he was another pious man at the time of Maryam (Mary)]! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor your mother was an unchaste woman."

29. Then she pointed to him. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"

30. "He ['Iesa (Jesus)] said: Verily! I am a slave of Allâh, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet;"

31. "And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me Salât (prayer), and Zakât, as long as I live."

32. "And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest.

33. "And Salâm (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!"

34. Such is 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). (it is) a statement of truth, about which they doubt (or dispute).

35. It befits not (the Majesty of) Allâh that He should beget a son [this refers to the slander of Christians against Allâh, by saying that 'Iesa (Jesus) is the son of Allâh]. Glorified (and Exalted be He above all that they associate with Him). When He decrees a thing, He only says to it, "Be!" and it is.

36. ['Iesa (Jesus) said]: "And verily Allâh is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allâh's Religion of Islâmic Monotheism which He did ordain for all of His Prophets)."

37. Then the sects differed [i.e. the Christians about 'Iesa (Jesus)], so woe unto the disbelievers [those who gave false witness by saying that 'Iesa (Jesus) is the son of Allâh] from the meeting of a great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection, when they will be thrown in the blazing Fire).

Quran Ch. 47 Surat Muhammad Vs

1. Those who disbelieve [in the Oneness of Allâh, and in the Message of Prophet Muhammad SAW ], and hinder (men) from the Path of Allâh (Islâmic Monotheism), He will render their deeds vain .

2. But those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and believe in that which is sent down to Muhammad (SAW), for it is the truth from their Lord, He will expiate from them their sins, and will make good their state.

3. That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus does Allâh set forth their parables for mankind.

1. Successful indeed are the believers.

2. Those who offer their Salât (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness.

3. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allâh has forbidden).

4. And those who pay the Zakât .

5. And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts)

6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame;

7. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors;

8. Those who are faithfully true to their Amanât (all the duties which Allâh has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.)[] and to their covenants;

9. And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawât (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours).[]

10. These are indeed the inheritors.

11. Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever.

Quran 30 Vs 30
" So set you (O Muhammad SAW) your face towards the religion of pure Islâmic Monotheism Hanifa (worship none but Allâh Alone) Allâh's Fitrah (i.e. Allâh's Islâmic Monotheism), with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in Khalqillâh (i.e. the Religion of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism), that is the straight religion, but most of men know not. ''
IslamRe: Things Mohammad And Jesus Have In Common by nuru(m): 7:15am On Jun 28, 2006
Prophet Muhammad followed the injunctions of God in-to-to.

Quran Ch 3 Vs 19 '' Truly, the religion with Allâh is Islâm. Those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) did not differ except, out of mutual jealousy, after knowledge had come to them. And whoever disbelieves in the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh, then surely, Allâh is Swift in calling to account. ''

Quran Ch 3 Vs 20 '' So if they dispute with you (Muhammad SAW) say: "I have submitted myself to Allâh (in Islâm), and (so have) those who follow me." And say to those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and to those who are illiterates (Arab pagans): "Do you (also) submit yourselves (to Allâh in Islâm)?" If they do, they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, your duty is only to convey the Message; and Allâh is All-Seer of (His) slaves[2]. ''

You see why muslims will not engage in slanderous arguement with others.

Christianity EtcRe: Similarities And Differences Between Christianity And Islam by nuru(m): 10:41am On May 24, 2006
GL:
Jesus warned against any prophet that would come after Him preaching another gospel. He said He is the Truth, He is the Son of God, He came to die to reconcile men with God. Muhammad didn't say this, he actually said the contrary.
First Jesus did not say he is the Son of God, neither in the Bible nor in the Quran. If anythinhg, he reffered to himself as Son of Man. The Quran refers to him as Son of Mary.

GL:
Actually, Islamic countries are some of the poorest countries in the world. The rich ones, with oil, have some of the widest gaps between the rich and the poor. It doesn't mean much standing beside a rich man to pray, or even eating from his table at certain times a year, when you can't afford the luxuries he can all year long. (all religions and even sports bring rich and poor together) Plus, Jesus was obviously not concerned with the number of followers, He was more interested in the quality of their followership. That churches now glorify themselves in numbers is an aberration.

The way Islam is being practiced today makes this love you're talking about hard to understand. It seems very conditional. Muslims round the world kill adherents of other religions, and even their own brothers who leave Islam. Iran is currently saying that Israel would be wiped off the map. What happens to all the women and kids there?
There are rich and poor islamic countries in the world today just like many others that are non-islamic.

Muslims do not kill adherents of other religion, rather muslims stand up to the oppressors. The love that Islam preaches can be seen by all except those who blind themselves to it. There is no way everybody can be equal in life but brotherhood must still stand out. That is what Islam instills when God is worshipped in Unison.

As for the issue of Isreal, it is a political thing and this is not the forum for that. But first of all go and read how the state of Isreal as we know it today came into emergence. If Ireal is wiped off today, of course the women and the children would live just like the muslims have always been magmanimous in victory to thier adversaries.

GL:
Also, just as you guys claim the bible has been adulterated, we can't be sure the Koran hasn't been adulterated too. Not that it really matters to christians though.

I admit that I've not read the Koran before. I believe all the inspiration I need is in the bible and that the Koran, or any other religious book, should be read for academic reasons only but I've not had to do any theological studies. Since I've not read the Koran, I can't claim to know anything about Islam, except what I've observed. Thus, rather than "harp on prejudice", I base my discussions/arguments on the "truth of life" on the bible.
It matters for the christians to know that the Quran is unadulterated because at least they have through it an opportunity to know Jesus Christ better. As for not reading the Quran, i think it will do a lot of good if you read it even for academic purpose. That will enbale you to know Islam. Why i say this is that somebody who knows islam once told me that he went somewhere and saw muslims but no islam, and went to another place and saw islam but few muslims. There is need for you to know Islam. Whether or not the so called ''muslims'' are actually practising Islam is a different case.

On the qualification you gave our agreement to worship one God, a lot of christians dont know that muslims too always mention the name of Jesus in their petition to God. We do not pray in his name but we ask God to do it for the sake of the love He has for Jesus, for the sake of honour He gave to Muhammed etc. And our prayers are anwered. This is in line with not only the way Muhammad taught us in his hdith to pray but also the principle that Jesus tried to lay when he taught the disciples ''our Father who hath ih Heaven, forgive us our sins as we forgive those who tresspass against us '' Note that he did not say '' forgive us our sins in the name of your son ''

Most muslims are not afraid of reading the Bible because it still contains fragments of Truth that can be distilled from the errors that crpt into the record of the teachings of Jesus by using the Quran as a Guide. In fact Quran was revealed to correct all those errors. You would agree with me the Authentic teachings of Jesus was not called a Bible in his presence and not compiled into a book. We can only appreciate the efforts of the compilers and at the ame time correct their errors. That is what happened at the Council of Nicea, 325 A.D. or so, cant remember the year precisely. The varoius writing by supposed witnesses and story tellers were examined and those that passed the criteria set forth then were compiled into one book to be called the Bible. Have you ever wondered why the Catholics have more books in their own collection. The nearest you can find to the original teachings of Jesus if you dont want to refer to the Quran is to compile the direct statements credited to Jesus from all the books of the Bible. Leave out all the storylines, leave out anything that is said or reported by said by other persons. Straight Jesus talk. You will have something i call the Gospel according to Jesus. Please do the exercise and experience remotely, the Jesus Islam is talking about.

It is erroneos to say muslims muder christians. I grew up under a christian mother and i have not mudered her. The fact is that western media with all the jewish grip always feed the public with distorted and one sided view of issues. Again, this is politics. Another thread will do justice to it.

Just like your experience that some people who treated you unfairly later came to become your friends, same has happened to me. Same can happen to a Jew or Hindu etc. The nature of a well balanced man is to enjoy peace, no wonder God himself named the balanced path Islam, which means Peace.
Christianity EtcRe: Similarities And Differences Between Christianity And Islam by nuru(m): 2:41pm On May 23, 2006
Tayod,

I am a muslim and one of the teachings of Islam is tolerance: For you is your religion and for me mine:

God says in the Quran' You cannot guide whom you love, God guides whom He wills.

God will judge everybody, although He has promised Paradise to the believers and the right doers. But the fact still remains that whether you look at it from the Bible or the Quran, Jesus Christ is Honored as a Teacher of One God. Whoever does not believe in One God is not a follower of Jesus even if he is called the Pope.
Christianity EtcRe: Similarities And Differences Between Christianity And Islam by nuru(m): 2:21pm On May 23, 2006
I am happy that at least a Christian believes that Jesus taught men to believe in One GOD as the foundation of every salvation.

The disciples called Jesus Teacher. Let us agree he was also called Lord, did the disciples who witnessed his message first hand believe him to be God. Definitely no. Even our Judges in the courts are called My Lord. Does that make them our creators. Definitely no.

So let us come to an understanding amongst us that our Lord, our God is One, as preached by Jesus and the Prophets.

As for fighting against falsehood, it is not natural that when you are pushed to the wall, you enter the wall. It is sheer pretension to say it is natural to allow your enemies and the enemies of Truth to slay you. Let us for instance say that the Muslims are the transgressors, why wont Christians wait for their flock to be extinct before fighting back in the name of  praying for your enemy. You see my dear, it is not natural. Defense is noble in the face of tyranny. Even Jesus as distorted as the Bible is, still recorded him as having gone uphill to pray when the plot thickened. Not only that, he made sure to post layers of sentries around the place just in case. Did Bible writers not reported him to have said ' Father , Father why have you forsaken me '. Such demeaning narrations are not what Quran teaches us about Jesus.

The Lord, Our God, The Wise did ordain fighting for the believers as you quoted to defend themselves and to make them have opportunities of asserting that when the need arises, they can die for their cause. It is not peculiar to Islam that people are urged to stand for their rights. All nations of the world teach the soldiers that.

AL-BAQARA 2:191 - "And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith."

What is more noble than the above verse, telling you not to chicken out, but to stay firm against oppressors. If people of the world can just abide even if slightly to this verse, the world would be rid of oppressors, ignorance and aggression. This is because those who want to perpetuate these vices would be afraid of uprisings against them too. Look at when the early Muslims followed this injunction in-to-to, they were elevated to the rulers and the most noble set of human beings. Their works became the foundation of the present day modernism and inventions. Were the Muslims of later generation not reneged on this principle, the world today would probably be a better place to live.

Search your soul! Can you honestly pray for me if i meet you on the street and without any just cause, slap you hard. Definitely no and if you think otherwise, here is a piece of assignment, drive your vehicle to the beginning of your street and pack it in the middle of the road and see what will happen.

Thanks everybody,

I can say from your opinions, i have a lot to tell my friend now. Ultimately, he has to take the decision but i think the discussion has been worthwhile. Most people seem to agree that he keeps his job here, settles his children there and visits only once in a while. I think that is fair enough.

Once again, I thank all of you my friends in the forum.

That is not to say the thread is closed o.
Christianity EtcRe: Similarities And Differences Between Christianity And Islam by nuru(m): 7:10am On May 23, 2006
Thanks Tayod,
I got carried away with the natural beauty of Islam and how it fits perfectly into human existence when lived without pretension. Nothing to be ashamed of but to be taught with pride to the obstinates, and pity for those that fail to see the signs afterwards.

As to the topic, the first thing is to realize that Jesus was not a Christian. He is a teacher of One God to be worshiped with all sincerity. He is a teacher of love to your fellow being. Because these are the two principles that his teachings are based upon, he can be concluded to be a Muslim: someone who submits his will to only One God.

Since Christianity of today is not based on One God, then its adherents cannot be said to be following Jesus. Rather the Muslims are the real followers of Jesus.

So the main similarity of Islam and Christianity is the recognition of Jesus as an element above ordinary me and you. While the main difference is that Islam hold tenaciously to the fundamental teachings of Jesus while Christianity fails to do so.

I want somebody to read Bible, Mark 12 vs 28, 29.

This is where you get what those who say they believe in Jesus should hold as the primary faith. It will be good to ask yourself how many of them do actually believe this assertion of Jesus Christ. Is it not that Jesus spoke the Truth and his supposed followers believe another thing.

This is the Truth that God sent Muhammad to come and redirect people of the world towards.

The religion that preaches and in which the brotherhood of mankind is demonstated is no other than Islam. It is the religion of Jesus, Moses, David, Solomon, Abraham and all the Prophets. That is why it is not Mohammedanism. It is the religion of Truth. VERY BEAUTIFUL. Appealing to your practical and spiritual sense.

Have you ever seen a greater gathering of mankind from the greatest number of towns and villages in the same spot at the same time, saying the same thing and doing common things together. Have you ever considered a path that ensures the king and the servant stand shoulder to shoulder several times in a day.

Have you ever consider a path that says you are not a believer until you love for your neighbor what you love for yourself and at the same time urge you to stand firm in face of tyranny and confront mischief headlong.

Have you ever wondered on the beautiful way the Quran is recited unadulterated for fourteen centuries. Don't you think you are missing something in your life by not clearly following Jesus and the Prophets. Look beyond you, look at the prophecies in the Quran being fulfilled in your age. Look at the benevolence of Muhammad, the greatest human being to ever walk the surface of the earth. A president, a Prophet, a family man , a businessman. a doctor, in fact every good attribute rolled into one.

Have you read the Quran before. Will you take up my challenge and discover for yourself the practical truth of existence and Fountain of Wisdom.

It is shame that in this age of information, some people would remain without approaching the Quran themselves but would rather harp on prejudice to discuss the truth of life.

Look, if you are reading this, you would not have any excuse on the day when you shall be brought forward to account for your deeds if you persist in ignorance of the Universal Truth.

The worship of One God and the brotherhood of mankind is incumbent on every soul. Do not say you are not warned.

Got Canadian Visa: To Go Or Not

I know the merits and disadvantages of living abroad are being treated in other threads, but i want to ask specific question on behalf of my friend.

He is a well read happily married man. He works with an oil service company with good prospect and takes home about N400k every month. He recently obtained Canadian Permanent Resident Visa for his family. He is not too sure now if he still wants to go out there to make a living and is seeking advise from some of us close to him on what to do.

Since Nairaland has proved helpful to me personally on some of my issues, i feel opening a thread to pick advises for my friend would be worthwhile. Should he go or stay.

Will you dispute with him concerning what he saw.
If you have not experienced supernatural incidences before, that does not mean you deny it exists.

In the Quran, God ask you several times to use your intelligence and wisdom. This goes to show that true religion cannot be opposed to true intelligence. The fact is that most of those who parade their religiosity are really not religious while most who parade themselves as intellectuals are really not intelligent.

Apart from that, intelligence is a relative term. For example, a prof of physics could be a dumb of fashion. Lets take it that generally, truly religious people are not less intelligent than those who are not.
