Nbote: @OP, we have not forgotten but let me ask u in all sincerity how long did dat scarcity last?? D mere fact dat u still use d failings of the last govt to kip justifying d failings of d present administration is enof to show deep down u see d failure but simply want to live in a fools paradise. There is supposed to b a change from the norm which is why and what Nigerians voted so using a so-called failure as a benchmark shows jus how low u really rate d govt even if u want to kip denying it. U voted for change and u want that change overnight? |

christinie: Before you curse whether directly or indirectly read Psalm 109:17.
Nigeria was No 1 economy in Africa under GEJ.
There was no much hardship as being witnessed now.
Now there's crises in all sectors of our economy: no fuel, no forex, no jobs, no power supply.
This is a Government that promised us change but ended up giving us negative change.
Even if you are paid to defend Buhari, you know that he is not competent to lead Nigeria to the promised land as some people were made to believe.
You can continue to deny it but Etcetera was right: we need to CHANGE Buhari for real change to exist.
Think about it. 'Nigeria no 1 economy in Africa under GEJ'. This must be bear parlour joke, otherwise what are your references? No light, no fuel, no forex etc. This is exactly what an illiterate farmer or market woman will say because they are not educated enough to either analyse it themselves or listen to the analyses of the experts. My sister, all these are some of the fallouts of past administrations not just the immediate past. I cannot figure out how you get things fixed without first opening it into pieces. Pls I am not a politician, neither do I get paid for anything. Infact my business is suffering some setbacks due to this hardship but I understand. |

How I wish that God had made govt in such a way that whatever the type of leadership one wishes is exactly what happens in his home. By then comments like these will not be seeing light of the day. For God sake, how can a Nigerian in his right frame of mind prefer the direction the country was heading b4 the present administration. Nothing remarkable to show for 6 yrs with huge revenue apart from tales of unbelievable money being looted. As if that was not enough, the country was already heading for the rock. |

Alwaystruth: You 're a useless idiot for defending the indefensible. People like you shouldn't exist in this 21st century. How much was crude sold during IBB era ?. And yet Nigerians never experienced this kind of untold hardship. Should low cost of crude in international market cause negative shortage of fuel for local consumption?. So, you expected PDP and GEJ to have reserved usable fuel for the life of this scumbag administration?. Zombies will never get sense. Mbaka was speaking out of his own accord and spoke when God never spoke . Blasphemy of the highest order. Do u know when Nigeria started importing and subsidizing refined petroleum products? Do u know when our refineries started producing below rated capacities? Do u know the cost implication of subsidising these products considering dwindling public revenue? Also, do u know who built those refineries? Do u know who failed to maintain them? Since those refineries where built over 30 yrs ago, no single one has been added even with the oil windfall, why? Why not find answers to these questions? |

Politics › Re: Why Haven't Nigerians Taken To The Streets Yet? by Nusaf: 7:43am On Apr 07, 2016 |
naptu2: It's quite simple. The removal of subsidy was a government policy, which was interpreted by people to mean that the price of fuel would go up and it won't come down unless they did something about it. So there was no hope unless people protested.
The current scarcity is not a policy of government, so people believe that it would subside. "Maybe it will subside today, maybe it would subside tomorrow". So people are waiting for it to subside. There will be protests if, for example, the government announces that the scarcity will continue for 6 more months. So people are angry, but they are still hopeful that it will subside today or tomorrow. I must say that this is one of the most educating comments I have read in this forum. U passed through school and, certainly, school passed though u. |

Destined2win: Father Mbaka was one person that sounded it so loud that buhari was the 'chosen one'. I am not doubting his calling as a man of God but I think with the spate of harsh economic sufferings meted out to Nigerians by the Present government, he should have called them out knowing fully well that he fears no one. His criticisms of Jonathan's government helped buhari ascend to the Presidency
Even some change propagandists like Omojuwa has officially turned a wailer. He didn't want it to look as if he went back to his vomit after criticizing the previous government. But from his rants, a discerning mind would see that he would have preffered the Previous government.
Now the question is, why is father Mbaka yet to speak on the harsh sufferings of Nigerians?

Ladies and gentlemen, isn't this an obvious sign APC was not prepared for governance? After 11 months, tell me one tangible thing ds government has achieved (remember I said achieved). I would not av been disappointed if not for fuel. I av always said it that I don't belive d promise of job. Why? u will ask. The answer is simple. How can person who has never created a job for a person promise u 5 000 or maybe 2 000 000. Justycxx: the fact that APC came on board has not change this country from being a milking cow for few in govt and to worsen the whole thing the least basic amenities that we manage has now been taken away from us. electricity is now zero in my area on top of that the bill has doubled, bought fuel for #180 today after standing in the queue for more than 1hour, prices of articles in the market has doubled. so what change exactly did the new govt bring? I can see the change bro Are u just assuming that the country is still being milked as usual? I think u need to give reasons don't just assume. On electricity, I hope u are not by any chance saying that u had 24 hrs power supply during the previous administration. This problem of power in Nigeria dates from time immemorial and expecting the present administration to fix it within 10 months is the height of unfairness. Fuel? Except if u had no reason to buy fuel few yrs back, u don't have any reason to make it look as if fuel scarcity is unique to the present administration. In addition to fueling my car, I also use generator due to poor POWER SUPPLY and I know what I had passed through in this Lagos which is not too different from the present situation. High cost of commodities? Most of our commodities are imported and u don't use naira outside Nigeria. Are u not aware of what is happening to our major source of dollars? |

In addition, these refineries were built when he was the minister of petroleum and non, not even one of the subsequent successive administration was able to maintain those refineries let alone build more even during the oil boom. |

Justycxx: it took PDP 16 solid years to mess up the country, APC used just few months to destroy it. wonder what this part of the world would look like in 16 years time under this clumsy set of leaders It is very obvious that most of you don't know the state of the economy at the tail end of the last administration. I sometimes wished that the present administration never came on board whenever l read comments from your likes, but even at that the differences will never be known just the way it is impossible to be known now. Anyway, God's way is different from that of man. Otherwise, I haven't seen any reason to vindicate the previous administration in the face of the ongoing shocking revelations of how this country was practically converted to a milking cow for just few in govt. |
