nwabobo: Chief John Nnia Nwodo, President-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo really vitiated Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who came to deliver a lecture on APC’s position on Igbo issue, thereby, passing judgment on Igbos for not voting for Buhari in 2015. Hon. Amaechi said, “You (Igbo) did not vote for Buhari, true or false? You voted for PDP and what did they do for you? PDP abandoned the Enugu-Onitsha expressway since 1999, but Buhari is working on it, true or false?” He told Igbos that “they should first ‘go for confession, seek forgiveness’ and join the All Progressives Congress (APC) where they will support President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term bid and have a chance of producing Buhari’s successor.”

As at November 2014, a bag was rice was already rising and went up to 10,000. But he claimed it was at 8,000. The prices of food in Nigeria started to go up when the Naira started dropping in value from 2014 and not after May 2015.
See screen shot for proof.
Lalasticlala, mynd44 please this is for balanced reporting
Mr man, this is seasonal increase in price of rice that happens every end of year due to Christmas.
Was a pleasure to be invited by His Excellency The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to the private launch of Eko Atlantic.
THE Chairman, Association of Fulani Chiefs in the South-West, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bambado has faulted a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, retd, for allegedly inciting Nigerians to take up arms against fellow Nigerians.
Danjuma The monarch, who described the comment as disappointing, unfortunate and unexpected of Danjuma’s calibre in the country, wondered why he chose such an avenue to talk on such a sensitive issue when he knows how to get across to the President without heating up the polity.
Bambado, who is the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos State said: “He (Danjuma) has access to President Muhammadu Buhari and can easily take his evidence, if any, to him, but telling people to arm themselves is an invitation to anarchy, which, when it happens, will consume us all.”
Advising Danjuma to thread softly in matters that can pitch Nigerians against their fellow compatriots, he reminded him that, as an expert in security matters, he should know better that his comments can cause havoc of an unimaginable proportion in the country.
mrkunlex: Maureen Ihua-Maduenyi The Deputy High Commissioner of India and Head of Chancery in Nigeria, Shri Subash Chand, has said his country witnessed more imports from Nigeria in 2016 and 2017. Chand stated this at the opening of a three-day exhibition of Indian products, tagged ‘Source India’ and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, and the Trade Promotion Council of India, in Lagos. The envoy said the bilateral trade between Nigeria and India in 2016 and 2017 favoured Nigeria. This, he said, indicated that India was interested in the economic growth of Nigeria, adding that India supported Nigeria to recover from the recently ended economic recession. He said, “Nigeria is one of the important exporting destinations for India in the African region. With a skilled workforce as well as high managerial and technical competence in comparison to its peers in Asia, India continues to create opportunities for Indian companies in the emerging markets and Africa. In recent years, India has emerged as a destination of choice for Nigerians looking for medical treatment. “During 2016, India’s export to Nigeria was $1.74bn as against India’s imports of $7.41bn from Nigeria. There were also signs of improvement in trade figures between the two countries in 2017. However, there exists considerable potential for diversifying trade between both countries. The strength of the bilateral relationship can be measured by the fact that while Nigeria faced recession last year, India showed solidarity by launching the setting up of a chapter of Associated Chambers of Commerce of India called ASSOCHAM.” He explained that the signing of the MoU with NACCIMA was to show that Indians were ready to partner Nigerians in areas of comparative advantage. He added, “India fully supports Nigeria’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan with a predominant focus on promoting agriculture and allied sectors as part of building a globally competitive economy. “I have no doubt that the exhibition will provide a useful platform for the captains of Industry in India and Nigeria to engage in fruitful discussions and forge long-standing partnerships.” A representative of NACCIMA, Mrs. Flora Nadifon, expressed optimism that the MoU would increase Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product.
doctokwus: President and VP leaving seat of office same day to travel to same place to inaugurate 2 different projects and attend a lecture for an individual! Buhari has totally ridiculed governance!!
If I say God should punish all those that inflicted Buhari on Nigeria, will you say Amen?
If Amasa Aljanatu Firdaus is a Muslim fanatics for refusing to remove her hijab and risk being denied the call to the Prestigious Nugerian Bar then Leah Sharibu is a Christian fanatics for refusing to adorn hijab even at the risk of her life! Like Leah Sharibu, like Amasa Firdaus. Amasa Firdaus decline removing her hijab, Leah Sharibu decline wearing hijab! Leah Sharibu decline wearing hijab putting her life on the line, Amasa Firdaus decline removing her hijab putting her 18years dream and ambition at risk!! Leah Sharibu decline wearing the hijab and risked being eliminated! Amasa Firdaus decline removing her hijab at the risk of loosing the privilege of becoming a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court, Leah Sharibu decline wearing hijab at the risk of regaining freedom from her abductors!! Leah Sharibu decline wearing hijab damming the public opinion, Amasa Firdaus refuse removing her hijab not minding what would be the Public Comments! Amasa Firdaus insist on wearing hijab not bothered by what wil be the reactions or feelings of her Parents, Leah Sharibu would not wear the hijab even if she would not meet her parents again! Leah Sharibu would not wear the hijab because to her it is against her religious inclination, Amasa Aljanatu Firdaus would not remove the hijab because it is not allowed for a matured Muslim Lady to go out without hijab! Amasa Firdaus would not remove the hijab even at the threat of terrorist, Leah Sharibu would not wear the hijab daring the dreaded Boko Haram! Amasa is not intimidated by the terrorist, Leah is not perturbed by the presence of the devils progeny!
But unlike Amasa Firdaus, Leah was unanimously sympathized with irrespective of religious affiliation or tribal jingoism, And worst unlike Amasa Aljanatu Firdaus the President and the Nigerian Government were interested in Leah Sharibu's release!!
What is the offence of my sister? Why was she not sympathised with by the President and the Nigerian government? Why cant Mr President also make a proclamation or even promise that Amasa's case would be resolved, why is it that our dear President is still silent over Amasa's case can't he realise that Amasa is the Siamese twin of Leah? They both did the same thing, and commit the same offence!! Why will he support one and leave the other to her faith? This is unlike a good father! If Leah Sharibu deserves the attention of Mr President and the sympathy of Nigerians, then Amasa Aljanatu Firdaus should be called to bar without further delay.
#Like Amasa #LikeLeah.
I pray God return our so dear Sister Leah Sharibu safely back from the abductor's custody and make justice reign in this our dear country for somebody like Amasa to be given their constitutional right.
Farmerforlife: There is no reason to introduce any new policy when the previous ones have not been implemented. Apart from the new policies Tobyarchy mentioned earlier, Adeosun has shown that her best attribute is that she is a doer, by assuring the effective implementation of those policies. It is not hot air and more theory that we need at the moment, but effective action.
Here we are again, back from scratch, worshipping the outward form rather than apprecciating the substance. You want to start this argument all over again? And BTW, Adeosun is also an alumnus of the University of London, if it makes you feel better.
Corrinthians: Nooooooooooo! This would be too much for me to bear as a flatheaded Heeeebow Jhew. It means I can not use my empty Jewish Wawa head to mock Jagaban anymore.
May chukwu alewa dawadawa console me over this great loss of my wailing avenue.
TobiArchy: Creation Of Efficiency Unit To show that she was prepared for the job, Adeosun swiftly went ahead to establish Efficiency Unit (e-unit) in the ministry of finance on November 25, 2015 – barely two weeks to her assumption of duty. The efficiency unit was established to ensure that all government expenditures are necessary and represent the best possible value for money. She found competent hands in the current director general of Debt Management Office (DMO), Ms. Patience Oniha to head the unit that has seen the federal government saving about N15 billion annually since then. Introduction of VAIDS Adeosun’s knack is not only in cutting cost and saving for the federal government. She has also proved that the federal government can have a more sustainable source of revenue than oil. Her priority is taxation. she was the brain behind the drafting a new national tax policy for the government, which has helped to remove the encumbrances to tax collection and remittances, with a focus to encourage investments in Nigeria and raise more funds for the government. That has since been adopted and now yielding the desired result. Beyond that, adeosun also piloted the introduction of the ever celebrated voluntary assets and income declaration scheme (VAIDS), a time-limited initiative that allows defaulting taxpayers to regularize their tax status relating to previous tax periods. VAIDS, is an amnesty programme that provides tax defaulters a nine-month opportunity to voluntarily and truthfully declare previously untaxed assets and incomes. It also ushers in an opportunity to increase the nation’s general tax awareness and compliance. At the last count, VAIDS had generated over $50 million in revenue between June 29, 2017 when it was launched and october 31, 2017. Two foreign companies have also agreed to pay $110 million in regularizing their tax status. about $1 billion additional revenue is being targeted from the scheme. Already, the federal government has recruited and trained 2,190 community tax liaison officers (CTLOS) under the scheme.
