PoliticsInsecurity: IPOB Calls For Peace In Imo by NwaNimo1(op): 2:01pm On May 20, 2022
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has called on elder statesman, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and retiring Arch bishop of Owerri Catholic archdiocese, Anthony Obinna, as well as the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, to wade into rising insecurity in Imo State and save the State from further bloodshed.

IPOB in a statement by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, claimed that its M-branch has discovered that politicians in the State are fueling the crisis in the State for political reasons.

The group has also urged governor Hope Uzodimma, Rochas Okorocha, Emeka Ihedioha and senator Ifeanyi Araraume, to settle their political rivalry to avert further security issues in the state.

The statement partly reads “The fact remains that IPOB and ESN are not behind the insecurity in the Eastern region because we cannot shed innocent blood of a fellow Igbo person or Biafra citizens.

“This disheartening insecurity is the handwork of some traitors and renegades, who see politics as a career job and we have discovered how they recruited external aggressors whom they use to murder their people and target political opponents at will.

“This problem is lingering in the region and particularly in Imo state and had spilled over to some part of Anambra State because of political reasons and interests.

“We are calling on stakeholders in the Eastern region, the Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodimma and most especially some key players in Imo state politics like, Emeka Ihedioha, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and Rochas Okorocha to make peace among themselves, in order to stop the killing of our people because of political interest in the state.

“If this continues, IPOB will have no option than to do the needful. So they will understand that Imo State is not for them alone and we will ensure that security of the state will not be jeopardised. This advice should not be misinterpreted by these evil politicians.

It’s quite appalling that someone like Eng. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Archbishop Anthony Obinna and many others, including our traditional rulers and Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership could not come together and call these politicians like Emeka Ihedioha, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, Rochas Okorocha and Hope Uzodinma, to order and allow peace reign in the state.

Politics2023: IPOB Bans APC, PDP, Others From Holding Rally In Abia State, Gives Reason by NwaNimo1(op): 11:35am On May 20, 2022
The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has banned any form of political rally in Umuahia, the Abia State Capital.

Particularly, the IPOB group cautioned an aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ikechi Emenike against holding a planned political rally on Friday (today).

IPOB in a statement on Thursday by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful said the ban is not only applicable to Emenike and the APC but to all other political parties planning to hold a political rally in the area.

Explaining the reason behind the ban, Powerful said in the statement released that the politicians have failed to address or do anything about some persons kidnapped by bandits in Uturu but want to be having jamboree while the victims remain in captivity.

He added that they won’t allow politicians to keep mute and do nothing about the constant attacks against the people of the area while they prepare for 2023 and behave as if nothing is wrong.

The statement read, “We want to advise Chief Ikechi Emenike and his APC people not to hold any political rally in Umuahia tomorrow, Friday May 20, 2022, while they kept quiet and did nothing when Fulani bandits kidnapped passengers including female students along Okigwe/ Uturu road.

“We cannot allow Emenike and his APC co-travellers to be dancing and singing at Chidiebere Park while our daughters are still in captivity.

“It is hypocrisy for the political elite to show no concern about the plights of our people who they claim to be seeking their welfare. It is wickedness for Emenike and his co-travellers to keep mute and do nothing about the incessant abductions of Igbo sons and daughters by Fulani herdsmen around Uturu and its environs. Ikechi Emenike should keep away from Chidiebere Park Umuahia tomorrow.

“We won’t allow APC and other political parties to continue to hold their rallies in our land while Fulani bandits operative with impunity Kidnapping and rapping our people, yet the politicians do nothing about it. All they care about is 2023. Enough is enough!.”

IPOB warned Emenike and the APC not to dare the group by holding a political rally while the kidnap victims remain in capitivity.

“Fulani bandits are holding Igbo girls and are demanding N10 million as ransom per person, Emenike and APC to be dancing at a rally when the families of the victims are in painful mood. He should not dare us.”

PoliticsEbonyi: Halts Umahi’s Fresh Loan Request, AESID Urges EFCC by NwaNimo1(op): 1:52pm On May 18, 2022
The Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in the Diaspora (AESID) has expressed worries over the rising debt profile of Ebonyi state, urging the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to stop the fresh loan request by the state government.

The group also faulted the plan by the state government to spend about N600 million on the forthcoming 7th year anniversary of Governor Dave Umahi-led administration in the state.

The Ebonyi State House of Assembly had recently approved another loan request from the Governor of Ebonyi State, allegedly put at N10 billion “for the purposes of completion of numerous ongoing infrastructural projects in the state.”

But reacting to the development through a statement signed Wednesday in Abuja, AESID’s President Ambassador Paschal Oluchukwu, his organisation will take every necessary legal and remedial steps towards ensuring that the state government does not further take the indigenes for granted.

“We at AESID urges the EFCC and good spirited Nigerians to please wade in to halt these deliberate and calculated stealing of our lean resources by a government that has made hunger and starvation of the masses it’s official policy.

“AESID will take every necessary legal and remedial steps towards ensuring that the Umahi government does not further take the indigenes for granted by wasting the said plum sum when most families in Ebonyi cannot afford even a square meal due to the excruciatingly biting anthropogenic poverty and hardship foisted on it by the Umahi administration.”

The group queried the powers of the 16 state House Assembly members loyal to the governor having been sacked by an Abuja Federal High Court for defecting to the All Progressives Congress with the Governor in November 2020.

According to the statement, records from the Debt Management Office showed that as at December 2021, the official sub- national domestic debt profile of Ebonyi state stood at over N42 Billion.

“We are also aware of undisputed claims in certain quarters that Ebonyi State government under Umahi has unofficially been making borrowings from some commercial banks in the State without due process or even recourse to the lackeys in the State’s House of Assembly. Our foreign debt profile have also skyrocketed to a whooping about $64M US Dollars. This does not include the borrowing of $150M from the Islamic Bank for the State’s ring road project.

“For a government that inherited a near zero debt burden from his predecessor and has habitually been wasting public funds on non-economically viable or sensible projects, this latest desperation to make our poor Ebonyi a debt stock of the nation is highly condemnable and most unfortunate.

“We can conveniently bet that Umahi has in the course of his deceptive ego-driven, white elephant projects borrowed and lavished what the next government in the State could have borrowed for the next eight years. It is even most disturbing that such humongous borrowings does not translate to the establishment of even a sachet water factory that can generate a Kobo to the coffers our economically strangulated Ebonyi State.

“As though the unconscionable squandering of public funds on frivolities is not already enough, AESID read in the media very recently about plans by the Umahi administration to spend N600M of tax-payers money to celebrate it’s Seventh anniversary in office. For a government which took Ebonyi’s poverty index from about 64 percent to a whooping nearly 80% with the state now officially the poverty capital of the entire Southern Nigeria, Umahi should be ashamed of celebrating the near total debt extinction of the State’s economic life and prosperity.”

On the recent victory of a victim of the Cybercrime law of the State which was recently declared illegal by a Federal High Court in Abakaliki, the statement commended the judiciary for the bold decision of declaring the state law as “anti the spirits and letters of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

PoliticsAtiku: I Won In 2019 But Robbed Of My Mandate By APC by NwaNimo1(op): 11:27pm On May 17, 2022
Presidential aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has said that he won the 2019 Presidential election but was robbed of the mandate by the All Progressive Congress (APC). grin

He alleged that the APC denied him.the mandate given to him by voters in 2019 using power of incumbency and the instrument of the Federal Government.

“Under no circumstance will that be allowed to repeat itself again in the 2023 elections should the party give me the mandate to contest,” he said.

The Waziri Adamawa was speaking to Kaduna PDP delegates at the party Secretariat on Tuesday night.

“Give me your votes again like tyou did in 2018, I assure you that I will not disappoint you,” he pleaded.

” If given the party mandate and I emerge President in 2023, I will invest in education, decisively address insecurity, and create employment for the youths…unite the country and give every part of the country a sense of belonging.

” I am here again to solicit for your votes like you gave me in 2018. I won the 2019 presidential election squarely but was robbed of it, just like you people were robbed in Kaduna State using government power of incumbency, but we won’t allow a repeat of that again in 2023.

” I therefore appeal to you to elect correct and competent leaders, if I get the mandate of the party and emerge victorious in 2023, I will unite Nigerians and give every part of the country a sense of belonging.”

“If elected President, I will invest in education, decisively address insecurity and provide employment to our youths, give me your votes and you won’t regret doing so” he told the delegates.

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi said, “we agree in totality that PDP won the 2019 general elections both at the national and Kaduna State but we were denied victory, we pray it doesn’t repeat itself again in 2023” .

Mr. Hassan Hyet, Chairman of PDP in Kaduna State said ” we pray that Kaduna delegates will do the needful during the primaries.”
