What then becomes of those Christians in the North?
That's up to them......When India was split into Pakistan/India nobody forced people to move. Some muslims stayed, and some moved.
PoliticsIPOB, Not Responsible For Killings, Sit-at-home In Southeast - Nnamdi Kanu by NwaNimo1(op):
IPOB, not responsible for killings, sit-at-home in Southeast — Nnamdi Kanu tells Soludo

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has described killings of innocent people, destruction and unlawful restrictions of movement in the Southeast as senseless, insisting such heinous acts are perpetrated by groups masquerading as IPOB to give the struggle a bad identity.

Nnamdi Kanu said this when the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Soludo paid him a visit at the detention facility of the Department of State Services, DSS.

Soludo described Nnamdi Kanu as being in high spirit while the visit lasted

He said, “I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to felicitate with him and also as part of the wider consultations with critical stakeholders in search of lasting peace and security in the South East.

He was in very high spirits and we had quality and frank discussion in a very convivial atmosphere.”

According to Governor Soludo, if the opportunity arises, Nnamdi Kanu would love to broadcast to his teeming followers to maintain peace saying, he “expressed sadness over what he described as “sacrilegious killings” of innocent persons, kidnappings and all forms of criminalities, including the brutal enforcement of the senseless “sit at home” perpetuated by sundry groups claiming to be acting for or on behalf of IPOB.”

He assured that if the opportunity “he will be glad to personally broadcast to his followers to maintain the peace.”

“Together, we shall restore peace, security and prosperity in Anambra and the Southeast,” Soludo wrote.

Sokoto riot: You will soon see us – Southeast youths fume over attacks on Igbos, shops, churches

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, the apex socio-political youth group in the South East has warned against further attacks on Igbos residing in Sokoto State and their shops.

DAILY POST earlier reported that pandemonium broke out in some parts of Sokoto State on Saturday following a violent protest by Muslim youths who stormed the streets to demand the release of the suspected killers of Deborah Samuel.

Recall that Deborah, a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, was lynched on Thursday for allegedly insulting Prophet Mohammed.

After outcries across the country condemning the incident, some of the perpetrators were arrested by the state’s police command.

Angered by the arrest, a large number of Muslim youths stormed several streets destroying churches and shops belonging to Igbos.

Reacting to the development, COSEYL in a statement by its President-General, Goodluck Ibem, warned that any further move to attack Igbos and their properties would cause them to take dangerous actions.

The statement reads, “These attacks on law-abiding and innocent Igbo businessmen who have done nothing wrong to warrant such vicious and barbaric attack on them is uncalled for and we condemn it in its entirety.

“We warn the Sokoto indigenes to stop the attack and destruction of Igbo properties and goods forthwith. We want these miscreants to know that nobody has the monopoly of violence, they should stop or else, they will see us soon.

“The same way Igbos are living in Sokoto doing their legitimate business is also the same way Sokoto indigenes are living in the South doing their business”.

The coalition called on the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal to immediately arrest and prosecute those involved in the destruction of Igbo properties and churches.
