The senate president does not have the sole power of declaring their seats vacant. He himself is an elected senator like them so how can he?

The law states that he would first table the matter before the whole house, and 2/3 of the house must agree before their seats can be declared vacant. And if he choose to go that route do you think it would be possible having lost the majority in the senate? Rather he should be afraid they don't impeach him.

The second way he can declare their seats vacant is by approaching a competent court with valid reasons.

If the senate president has such powers don't you think Former senate president David mark would have used it during the wave of defection in 2014?
