lol all of ona wey dey talk. Ona evidently no know caroline tshabalala. Make ona free the guy jare |
It's shocking man. This is why I did not even bother replying the clown (see directly above your assertion) that quoted me while drawing baseless comparisons to tribalism in NGR. Evidently he is YET TO EXPERIENCE any of such (ditto the many other ignorant views which have toed his dumb line of his reasoning on this thread). You will clearly notice such folks (he and his ilk on here) by their ludicrous pseudo-intellectual positions on the issue. Heck! Comparing Nigerian-brand intra-national tribalism with institutional, overt and covert racism faced by people because of their colour in many parts of the world? Lol bookface: |
I can relate ...I live in Berlin - have hardly had any issues here ...but the moment I went to neighboring Poland - Sczcecin, Krakow and Wroclaw on a weeklong tour with a group of buddies ( some latinos and a couple of europeans... i was the only black person among the 8 of us) I 'jammed' covert racism first- hand. At the airport I am pulled aside and searched further (more or less frisked) while my mates are just passed after presenting documents without further checks. Same rubbish would repeat itself time and again in inter-city train stations. Hanging out at night was almost a nightmare especially in Sczcecin as some drunk eggheads be wan mob us one of them nights shouting specifically at me "go back to your country bla bla" .wan even come ginger fight lol. Too many funny experiences. I keep telling my mans dem back home, nor be by bla bla I wan cut out, I wan cut out; Nothing like your own country at the end of the day. You will never appreciate/ understand how crucial your dignity as a human being is untill you are constantly subjected to racism - overt or covert. Believe me RACIAL PROFILING kills slowly - particularly when you are subjected to such time and again. |
Impressive! Kudos to him and his team. The solution to most diseases that are predominant in these parts in particular/ the tropics in general lie within. The earlier our experts realise this, the better for us. He should be careful too. Big pharma/The West will soon come for his head/want to discredit his work as they typically do. Hopefully this can spur further research in other ailments such as sickle cell, ebola, HIV etc as Big pharma/The West are never keen on seeing that these are genuinely addressed |
kikiki I blame Jonathan. ...sai baba till 2066! |
Beehshorp:I tell you bro ..especially 29 year old Aghaowa who is in tip top form at the moment, haven notched a hat-trick last weekend. Smh |
yusufftaiwo:Ok nice one. ...Yeah this end sharp as well. Stay safe |
yusufftaiwo:What's good man? How are you holding it down at that end? |
yusufftaiwo:Lol 'packing mode' ..you still get time na. Well na today me wan start that one sef. I'd be leaving tuesday night with lufthansa -spend a day in berlin and leave for potsdam the following day (na like 30mins or so train trip). Which airline you de move with? I would recall you mentioned you'd have a two hour or so 'train journey' to your final destination upon arrival ..no? |
yusufftaiwo:bro, what's good? When you leaving? |
politics of vindictiveness; and you wonder why the black man nay Africa is permanently placed at the backburner vis a vis global development? Even when the terms of the contract clearly spells the contribution of both Anambra and Delta states (bout 30% or thereabouts) in addition to the fact that Berger would toll the route for two years to recover their own contribution to the project (a "PPP" by the way)? Even when FG's contribution (as per the contract) is around or less than 50% of total project costs? Lol well it's probably too soon to draw conclusions |
yusufftaiwo:My man; it was nice meeting you as well. You too much! I must also thank all of you who have kept this thread alive - taking time to share experiences - both success stories and otherwise at the consulate, make suggestions, render advice and all. Would be no mean feat to list y'all one by one lol ona toooo much! This is the best thread ever! For the guys who are yet to do their respective interviews, just digest the entire thread or at least PART TWO if you can't handle the entire length due to constraints. Beleive me, with that, you're 95.5% good to go (the remaining 4.5% na the questions wey dem don de add small small -one or two or three wey dem been no dey ask before). For those of you who are awaiting your visas (post-interview), I wish y'all THE VERY BEST!! ... I will always remain loyal to this thread (na pledge be dis o) lol anybody wey need any clarification shouldn't hesitate to "mention" me. Danke "everyone'! |
Walesby:You captured the scenario perfectly. Thank you very much; I have since sorted it out with my course coordinator. It's the university of potsdam (in potsdam, brandenberg). Cheers man |
uchezdedon:They meant tuition actually (and yes I already funded my block account). Have now sorted everthing out though. Thank you |
Eke40seven:Bro, God bless you really good. This was exactly what I did; and although it has taken 5 long weeks of 'back-and-forth' emails btw me, course coordinator, the consulate in no particular order, everything is now sorted (and I wouldn't have to pay everything no more ...but in instalments). Hope your parole is going fine. All the best! Potsdam here we come! |
My people, i hail oh. Abeg for those who have picked up their respective visas, which travel health insurance ona use? Suggestions? Danke! |
Quick question; for those resuming sept/oct who have received their student visas, did you pay your full tuition fees (ie for the entire duration of your program) before you were asked to come for your visa? These embassy guys just sent me a mail stating that the aliens authority are requesting for proof that I have transferred the entire course fees so I should send them proof of this payment (PS this is diff from blocked account which I have already sorted out). This is a two-year masters and the school allows for instalmental payments albeit due in specific deadlines. Paying the entire thing go be die o. Is this what everyone has had to do? |
Jhonnyboy:Oh how nice. And sure, half of a yellow sun was epic (read it a couple of months ago). Indeed Adichie's style's impressive - re: endless intrigues, especially. Would only be able to do a comparison of my own once I'm done with Americanah though. Cheers mate! |
Americanah ~ Adichie. Currently on page 30. Been an awesome read thus far. Wonder why I never took a look in all this while |
adenjnr:Great! I should be in unipotsdam by september. Ever veered into that potsdam zones? I hear say e 'dry'. Been to berlin once in the past and it was fun. Hoping to shuttle (ie potsdam -berlin) as often as time permits. I am aware though that living in a city is entirely diff from visiting ...so what's your general impression (ie of berlin) as a permanent resident? We gats relate ...if you no mind. Cheers man! |
Anyone headed to / currently in Potsdam or anywhere within the entire Brandenburg area (eg berlin?)? |
Ahbbiey:Ok great. Congrats! ![]() |
oligee:Yeah you would be asked to talk about the course (ie masters degree) you are going to study but with regards individual courses required for the completion of your degree, you won't be asked much - all you need do is to basically know these courses and be able to list all ...and yes, the interview is still being conducted over the telephone; plus the area where students visa interviews are conducted is not inside the main building |
Ahbbiey:...And so the goodluck eventually came my way lol thank you. I hope the one I sent you also did ![]() |
oligee:My pleasure. Btw the interview was successful thankfully. Read up on your course structure, the modules you'd take particularly core courses, but also a number of electives. Know the number of countries that surround Germany and be able to list all; know the 16 lander (federal states in germany); be prepared to state the link btw what you studied in undergrad/ your relevant work experience with the course you're going to study in germany; they will ask if you'd be comming back o *ghen ghen* (better talk truth o ..highest if you nor de come back yarn dem say you go continue to PhD); they will also ask you general questions about the city where your school is; population of germany; who is the president (nor go dull yourself like baba one chance o ...president na joachim gaucke and not angela merkel. The latter is the chancellor). Then one or two other relatively easy questions. Bon chance! |
oligee:They collected 13,500 from yours truly. Was there thursday last week. Cheers! |
Ahbbiey:I do ...albeit the day after ie 18th. Best of luck! |
"The difference between the PDP and the APC is akin to the difference between six and half of a dozen" Femi Falana. FACT is these guys will continue to have a ball for years on end cos the supposed future leaders /today's youths are more interested in /pre-occupied with throwing tribal slurs at each other; engaging in all manner of primordial ties-related nonsense n all. |
lmuhopeful:Ok makes sense. Would wait one more week before I take action then. Many thanks! |
mokaz:Ok would have to shoot them a mail. Many thanks! |
Quick question. For those who've gone through the process, how long does it take on the average to get a notification from Deutshe bank after opening a blocked account? Was at the consulate on Monday, 20th April to certify my docs (append signatures) and submit my application. It's been 3weeks now and no word yet from Deutshe bank. Gracias |
