free2ryhme: Until the black women understands she is unique she will always and forever be inferior. The cravings to always be like the white and accept their standards against theirs has always been in their blood ... Even girl that posted on this thread is guilty of this
Make una chill jor. It's not a black woman thing. It's an African thing. It's all about following trends. Why do we wear suit and ties? Cos the white man says it is what smart and successful people wear. Yet no one says we are trying to be like the white man.

Why do our women wear extensions? They want to look good. The average woman wants to look and feel beautiful. It's part of their psychological makeup. Unfortunately the African society does not give the African woman reason to feel beautiful in her own hair.

Who makes the extensions? Africans? Nah. So why the hell should they style it after the African hair? It's part of business to sell a mentality along with your products. What have African men done to counter that mentality? Telling her she has low self esteem or hates herself?

What is wrong with changing the hair market to suit your tastes? What is wrong if we start making hair extensions that is totally African? What is wrong if our men learn to tell their women that their natural hair is beautiful?

Complaining when we have done nothing positive to change anything, is just silly. Unfortunately that is all the average African man knows how to do undecided

Odenigbo Aroli: So,are you telling me with close to one billion white women on this planet the only picture you can come up with is a single picture of a white woman with a weave that look like one of a mixed breed ? Are you not ashamed of yourself ? About 90% of black women walk around everyday with a white woman's hair and you are choking over a single modeling picture ? The reason why you wear white women hair is because you see it as more beautiful than your black hair. This is the danm fact, lady. Stop embarassing yourself with that your weak logic. Ok,if the aren't more confident and beautiful than you why do you go through so much pain just to come close to looking like them ? They sit around and make fun of you in your desperation to look like them! If you don't see anything wrong in that then you are a complete MUGU
lmao... Wasted epistle. I'm no lady, sorry grin

Quit killing yourself and look beyond your nose. Why do you think they tan their skins? Find out what tanning is before you come up with an eediotic response like "black women do it too". Why do they try to get fuller body parts through cosmetic surgery?

It's the idea of beauty that the media sells, and the black woman is not the only one that gets swayed. When last did you tell your mom or sister or partner that her hair is beautiful? Commend before condemning. For once, appreciate what you have and quit licking white backsides. White women do all that you accuse the black woman of doing.
In as much as I want to support black ppl, but how man white people do you see with Black natural hair?

This was a MODELING picture. I've seen white ppl with dreads and that's as black as they go.

cool
the dude knows why I put up the pic. He initially claimed NO white woman would put on anything that resembles African hair and not her own (modelling or not). A fact is a fact and a lie is a lie, so it helps to give room for exceptions from the onset. If afro isn't African, I wonder what is.

Hejehe... He just added an exception to his former ignorant position that white women do no do African extensions grin

Odenigbo Aroli: Bia nwa, there is a difference between ornaments that you adorn yourself with and a fake white woman's hair that you practically sewed into you God given hair to cover it up and assume the look of another person. You wear this fake nonsensical hair for years walking around, shamelessly, trying to be like your superiors. The comparisons you are making is completely laughable. We all wear clothes to cover our unclothedness and add things to it because of fashion but hair weave isn't fashion because you are altering the way you look for real and to add to that you aren't even trying to look black but like a white woman, who you see as the standard of beauty. Why are you hididng your hair, madam ? Why are you ashamed of the way God created you ? Why do you hate yourself so much that
lol... How do people manage to be so 2-faced? So ornaments and clothes do not make one different?

Well I have questions for you too. First of all, why is it that despite the good work of Google, you stubbornly choose to hawk your ignorance?

Look at this pic and tell me if that is a black girl spotting that afro extension.
https://images.colourbox.com/thumb_COLOURBOX2742559.jpg

Other questions:
1) Are you a Christian?

2) If yes, isn't that trying to be like the white people that brought the religion to Africa?

3) If you believe the bible, can you tell us why God made "garments of skin" (certainly not their own skin, most likely animal skin) for Adam and Eve (Gen 3:21) when they were ashamed of their original skin and tried to cover it up with leaves?

4) Is hair extension different from a garment of skin? (remember God made man without clothes, so don't tell me it was to protect their skin).

5) Why do white people perform cosmetic surgery on themselves since they are very proud of how God made them?

While I await your answers, it's safe to assume that you are the one with inferiority complex, since they are you standard for self-esteem and you ascribe every African action to the "superiority" (your own words) of the white man.

Our dear men, is there anything you like about us...about Nigerian women...about African women? We hardly hear you mention our strengths and unique acts. Abi we no get at all?

"The lie gets half way around the world before the truth geta the chance to put its pants on". I can't remember who first said it, but I think it answers your question.

@50calibre, I really thought you couldn't make posts more unintelligent than the ones you made in the Mr NL campaign. You burst my bubble in the most shameless way possible. "Women are like pets/personal property"? Really?

Good news is, the world is changing. Some ladies are are climbing up the ladder of success on hard work and merit, and many guys like you are not fit to touch the tyres of their cars. Bad news is, one dumb girl would still agree to marry you.

I think humans should be classified at times not along 'male/female' lines, but as 'smart/dumb'. That way, I wouldn't have to be in the same group with you.
Romance › Re: Let's Talk About Nigerian Women, Money, Sex And Fake Hair by Oahray:
You guys are still on this ish? Na wa o. It's getting stale jor. What happened to "LIVE AND LET LIVE"? I like natural hair, but I like extensions too. If they are bad cos they are not natural, well, so are clothes and shoes and houses and cars and the internet and nairaland... Humans weren't made with any of them.

If you hate hair extensions, your kettle of fish. I'm sure there are girls who do too. Look for them, and stop bugging other girls who decide that hair extensions would make them look good.
