Hey bro.. thanks for your contributions so far. But i’d like to ask what type of jobs are available in finland, the chances of securing a job on time after arrival and on an average, how much can one earn as a student monthly..figure to be naira..
thankful
As a student that doesn't have degree , the type of job you will get is manual related jobs like working in supermarket , trashing waste bins at train stops, Newspaper distributor in early hours of the day , cleaning of offices among others. Most of these jobs are done within 2 to 3 hours.

You will earn a decent pay that will be able to cater for your house rents, bills & welfare.
Mind you house rent is paid monthly & it ranges from 100k & above .
Dont ever have the mind of making it quickly if you get there but you will be okay & live a decent life for someone that is still in school . My advice

Hello mates,
I applied to HTW in Berlin, Germany and got an admission to study MSc. Construction and Real Estate Management. However, it is an exchange program in which I have to spend my 1st & 2nd semester in Metropolia UAS, Helsinki, Myllypuro Campus and my 3rd & 4th semster in HTW Berlin.
Here are my worries; from my research, I learnt that since my point of first entry is Finland, I have to apply for visa through the Finland embassy. I have gone to read different articles online about the visa application/processes.
1. How do I prove my means of sustainability? Can I use a block account just like the Germany style or a Nigeria bank statement is sufficient?
2. I saw legalization of documents, how important is this and where and how can it be done? Which documents should be legalized?
3. When I checked the "https://visa.finland.eu/nigeria/Online-Application-form.html" for visa category, I could only see (research/training), does student visa falls under this category?
I’m not familiar with Germany processes but for Finland this is how to get your RP & i believe it might cover you for your Germany studies( The most important is for you to start your studies & you will figure the remaining out later.

1. To prove your means of sustainability as a student in Finland , you can use a sponsor that will deposit an equivalent of 6720 Euros (560 Euros per month X 12 months for a year RP) in Naira into your Nigerian bank account. The money has to be there for the duration of your application & you can remove it apply you get your RP. The sponsor might be anybody you know not necessary your family but he/she must have a good Statement of Account (SOA) because the sponsors SOA will be submitted also at the point of RP application.

2. To legalize your documents, go to any court in Nigeria for Certify True Copy stamp on the photocopies of your credentials ( you must go with the original for them to see it)
Documents to be legalized
Photocopies of all credential, IELTS result, passport data page ,birth certificate and relevant documents
Check the last 2 pages for my comments on this with picture

3. Finland gives Residence Permit (RP)for study not visa. For you to apply for RP,application is done online through https://enterfinland.fi/eServices
where you will upload all your documents .
After that, you will apply for biometric & documents submission at VFS global in Abuja before the will give you appointment date to Finland Embassy in Abuja for interview. The interview is less than 10 minutes .

Good day house, can someone explain to me the purpose of creating a whatsapp group for those that intend to study in Finland when we have a great platform like this that have transformed many lives even before the advert of Whatsapp. Although this issue is not peculiar to this forum alone but other forums on Nairaland .

Asking question & sharing your opinion here will benefit millions than doing it on whatsapp which have limited number of people. Besides everybody will also have access to any of your post, opinion & experience while surfing the net.

Just imagine if the creator of Nairaland.com was selfish & decided to limit the group members to few people, those that come here to shop for whatsapp members & information will not have the opportunity .

In as much as i agree that Whatsapp is fast, convenient and easy to use , let us all have concern for others as well. My opinion tho.

I don't discredit the fact that he can bring his wife & children but I would suggest you go first then they can join you later

Reason: Your purpose of moving is for studies, hence the idea of involving your family is more like a relocation plan. I don't know if it makes sense.

You are right. Thats the best way to go about it.

thanks for these wonderful info you are dashing out here. I would like to ask if it won't be difficult for 30years old to get admission to vocational school and visa as against Bachelor Degree?
There used to be age restriction like 2 or 3 years ago but right now , there is no age limit.

Thanks for all these ... May God bless you bro.. Pls one more question... Will I send the documents through post office to them or to their email address.
Through Post office, i will advise you use UPS or DHL. It should be around 18k-20k to send the documents .

Alright thanks for the info
Do I need to notarize birth certificate
Every document you send with the application has to be notarized(CERTIFIED TRUE COPY) just to show that it is authentic especially since you are sending photocopies to them. You can do the notarization in Ikeja High Court or any court close to you. You will spend like 3k for all the documents

Attached is an example of fully notarized birth certificate & To whom it may concern letter written to show he had practical experience .
Every application differs based on your experience

How far boss
Have you been able to get an appointment and did the Embassy accept the application?
VFS eventually gave them appointment in January 13 & 20 respectively . Although the school will resume in January,2021. They still have ample time to join them if their application is processed quickly .
Please i don't do PM , ask any question here besides i’m not a guru or agent. Just sharing the little information/knowledge i have gathered over the years by assisting my siblings.

[quote author=mauricerex post=96038514]Good afternoon, I have gone through the threads here I think my case is different.
I finished high school since 2010 and I have been working with different companies for the 10 years and I think I have saved enough money to school abroad but I have some questions to ask.

1. Is my waec result still valid?
2. I'm 27 now. Will I be given admission?
3. Incase Norway doesn't work which country would accept me?

Any idea and advice would be appreciated so much.

Can anyone who have gone for his/her appointment for studies share their experiences. Kindly state the documents they asked for. My friends in Kenya said they only did biometric n capturing and nothing else. Please can share your experience, it could come handy..
Appointment for studies is just for you to present your documents & do biometrics at VFS. The documents are the ones you upload on Enterfinland website. After that they will schedule you for another appointment at the Finnish Embassy, where you will be ask questions about your course, like why the course , source of money ,why you decide to study in finland among others.

Good day everyone,
is there anyone in the house that has a link on how someone can get an early appointment for biometric & capturing at VFS, Abuja .I applied normally through sending of email to them with details required but the message i got from them is that i have been placed on the queue even after calling them several times on phone.
Time is not on our side considering school will resume in January 8,2020 . I need slot for 2 people

hello house... am really sorry if my question will divert this trend a little bit, is just a pressing concern and this is the best place i can get genuine answers
so i want to start applying to schools from next year. am trying to gather all necessary documents now but i found out that my name on my international passport and the name on my school and waec result are different with omission of my middle name and date of birth is different too with a year back...please guys if anyone has passed through anything like this or u know someone who has, pls i really need honest suggestion on how i can get this fix cos i know is going to be a big issue if i apply for visa with this...please house just help me out on this.
THANKS
Issues like this occur when people are trying to cut corners. You can’t claim ignorance that you were not the one that supplied information for your international Passport. Be that as it may, i would advise you to go to NIS in Abuja for correction of data on your passport.

Good I want to know how to go about the Recommendation Letter/Testimonial
Was it notarized or Legalized?
The recommendation letter has to be typed on the company letter head paper & stamped while your school Testimonial has to be notarized in court.

I have been seeing post about legalizing documents in Foreign affairs Ministry which is good but the ones we have done is in Ikeja High Court.
