Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has likened Marcus Rashford to Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe and said "there is almost no better player in the world" than the England forward. Rashford has enjoyed a much-improved season for United, already equaling his goal tally from last season in 11 fewer appearances while also scoring three goals for England at the World Cup. "From the first moment, I recognised huge potential," Ten Hag told the club's official website. "And now to get out the potential, I believe when Marcus' positioning is on the back of the defending line, there is almost no better player in the world. "There is Mbappe in this moment, a type like him, but when he [Rashford] is getting in that position, he's great and you see he's really improved also out of possession." Rashford has amassed 322 appearances for United after his breakthrough 2015-16 season, contributing 101 goals and 60 assists. The 25-year-old's contract expires in the summer but United have an option to extend it by a year. Ten Hag said the club will trigger the clause and that a decision for a further contract lies solely with Rashford. "He [Rashford] has to make a decision," he said. "The only thing we can do is show him this is the best club to be in, which has to do with the culture of the club and also in the way we are working, in the way we play and the way we train and if we are offering the right environment to progress. "It's a financial issue as well. Then it is up to him to make the decision. But for one-and-a-half years, he will be here." After a tough start to the season, the United boss has slowly started to see improved results and performances and he said he hopes his new regime will allow Rashford to enjoy playing for the club. "One of the first things I said to him was come to training and smile," he added. "We bring him exercises that hopefully bring players joy. They have to be effective but they have to be joyful as well and that gives you energy when you are happy. When you see the benefit of it, you can be happy. "Actually, Marcus was one, from the start, who came with a smile to Carrington and left with a smile day by day. And, from the first moment, it really was a joy to work with him. I recognise his talent and his finishing talent [is] great. United sit fifth in the Premier League with 26 points from 14 matches. |

I just wish Graham Potter will stop using Sterling as a wingback cus he is not a wingback and is ineffective there. |
Chelsea have just confirmed that Reece James has signed a new 5 year contract with the club, following days of rumours that the deal was almost done. The defender is one of the few truly world class players in this current squad, with only a couple of right backs in the world able to say they’re at his level. A long piece on the website is full of praise from the owners and quotes from James about how happy he is to be staying at the club. The whole thing gives us a nice warm buzz, at a time when we really need it. “I am over the moon with my new contract and I’m thankful for the fans, the new ownership and everyone involved in the club. I cannot wait to see what the future holds, and I am sure we will have the chance of winning many trophies,” the full back said. It had initially been reported that James’ deal would be a 6 year deal with a one year option, but it appears it’s actually 5 years with a one year option. Either way, we can finally relax and start looking forward to many more years of him at Stamford Bridge. He’s already made 128 appearances for us in his three full seasons, and we hope to see hundreds more. |
Footage has emerged of Sterling deciding against signing a City shirt following his departure. Sterling was recently signing shirts for fans during Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the United States. He had no problem engaging with Chelsea fans, taking pictures with them and signing their shirts. But, when an individual asked Sterling to sign their City shirt, he wasn’t having any of it. “No”, Sterling appears to say after taking a look at the City jersey, before continuing to sign Chelsea shirts. His actions were met with approval by one supporter in attendance, who cheered when Sterling rejected the City fan. |

Chelsea have completed a £45million deal to sign England international winger Raheem Sterling from Manchester City . The 27-year-old has played a pivotal role in City winning the league in four of the last five seasons but he is looking for more regular starts ahead of the Qatar World Cup later this year. Sterling overtakes N’Golo Kante as Chelsea’s top earner, with the former Liverpool star reportedly agreeing terms on a £300,000-a-week contract. Barcelona , Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were also interested in Sterling, but it is the west London club who have won the race for his signature. Advertisement Upon confirmation of his arrival, Sterling explained he has been impressed by the vision of Thomas Tuchel and the German coach’s role for him. ‘First and foremost, it’s a pleasure to be here,’ Sterling said. ‘I’ve obviously achieved a lot in my career so far, but there is still so much more to achieve and I’m really looking forward to doing that in a Chelsea shirt, under Thomas’s management. ‘London is my home and where it all started for me, and it’s amazing I now have the opportunity to play in front of friends and family week in, week out at Stamford Bridge. I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans there soon. ‘I do want to take the opportunity to thank Todd, Behdad, the ownership group, Thomas, and all involved in the process of getting me here. ‘I can’t wait to get going now and continue to do my talking on the pitch.’ Sterling is the first major signing under the club’s new owners, the consortium led by American billionaire Todd Boehly. ‘Raheem Sterling is a serial winner and his signing is an important step in strengthening our squad,’ Boehly said. ‘We are delighted for Raheem to return to London with Chelsea, and we look forward to seeing his world-class talent on display at Stamford Bridge.’ |
According to reports, Chelsea have reached a ‘full agreement’ to sign Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli for €40m this summer. The Blues are in the market for at least one new centre-back this summer. This comes after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen departed to join Real Madrid and FC Barcelona respectively on free transfers. Koulibaly has consistently been one of the best defenders in Serie A since his move to Napoli in 2014. The Senegal international has been included in the league’s Team of the Year on four separate occasions. He has played over 300 times for them across all competitions. He is out of contract next summer so an exit during this window was always going to be likely. Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea are set to sign him after having a €40m bid accepted. He will earn €10m per year in London. The transfer guru also noted that new Blues owner Todd Boehly ‘wanted to be quick’ to sign Koulibaly after the club missed out on Matthijs de Ligt. The Juventus star is set to sign for Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling has said he will leave Manchester City “a man” after his move to Chelsea edged closer. Sterling announced his exit from the Etihad with a thank-you to those he was worked with at the club. “Seven seasons, eleven major trophies, a lifetime of memories,” he posted on Twitter . “To the coaching staff who have played a massive role in my development over the years to my team-mates who have become more than just those I share a pitch with, to the backroom staff, to the office staff, to the fans who have tirelessly supported the team and to everyone involved with Manchester City, my respect for you couldn’t be greater. “What a ride it’s been. “I am thankful for the ups and the downs as it’s the downs that have, at times, tested my strength and resolve and enabled me to stand here in front of you as the best possible version of myself. “I arrived in Manchester as a 20-year-old. Today, I leave a man. Thank you for your endless support. It’s been an honour to wear the shirt of Manchester City.” |
Chelsea are closing in on a summer move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly after a positive meeting with his agent Ramadani. Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Blues have agreed personal terms with the Senegalese defender on a five-year contract worth €10 million per season and are looking to wrap up the deal for €38m plus add-ons. The west Londoners turned their attention towards Koulibaly after learning that Bayern Munich had overtaken them in the race for their top target and Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt. Thomas Tuchel has made defensive reinforcements a priority for the summer following the departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger. In addition, Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso have also been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona. Having said to be working on Nathan Ake’s deal after agreeing personal terms, Chelsea are now set to add Koulibaly to their defensive ranks. The 31-year-old’s future became a subject of transfer speculation after he declined a renewal offer from the Partenopei. European giants Barcelona and Juventus were also in the race for Koulibaly, but the Blues eclipsed them with a better offer. Chelsea are expected to announce the signing of Raheem Sterling soon as the Man City forward is said to have successfully passed his medical. It remains to be seen whether the Blues will pursue Sevilla defender Jules Kounde after closing the deal for Koulibaly. The French centre-back has been chased by the Premier League giants alongside Barca, with Sevilla open to selling him for around €60m. |
43Ronin:name a single season where Gabriel Jesus scored more goals than Sterling. As for Jorginho, he is a Great dm and proved it with an European player of the year award and he has never relied on loftus cheek to support him and as for his partnership with Kante, they compliment each other very well because they hide each others flaws. |
Realguyman1:Chelsea are still in the race for Raphinha as they have agreed a 65mil pound with Leeds all that's remaining is for the player to agree to the move. plus TT was the one who requested for both of them to be signed. |
