Well done guys!

You both did well.

I know Katsumoto, so was not surprised with his excellent presentation, but really was very impressed with Obinoscopy, prolly cos I dont know him too well before now. I thought Katsumoto will have an easy walkover but Obinoscopy really gave a well matched opposition. You guys did justice to the topic.

Thank you guys, thank you all.

BTW, what happened to Afam4ever and Ikengawo? Chickened out? huh

We want only valid/relevant questions not comments please.
PoliticsRe: NL Monthly Political Debate by OAM4J: 4:12pm On Oct 27, 2012
5 Judges will score each debater as follow:

1,Presentation(opening, flow, closing, response to questions) ..... 4pts

2, Logic of arguments ..... 4pts

3, Strenght of facts, examples, cases ..... 4pts

4, Persuasiveness ..... 4pts

5, Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of the subject ..... 4pts

So Total maximum score for each debater = 100

Ordinarily we expect the winners of each pair to come on top, but in a case a pair do no justice to the topic and are scored low by the judges, then the other pair will advance to the final.

Katsumoto: Jarus,

Clarification

When I provide rebuttal to my opponent, I am responding only to Obinoscopy and not Obinoscopy and Ikengawo.

Similarly, Obinoscopy responds only to me?

If this is the case, then one of Obinoscopy/Katsumoto and one of Afam4eva/Ikengawo will advance to the second/final round.

This needs to be clear to both debaters and judges.

Thanks
YES, you respond ONLY to your opponent and questions directed to you from the judges and audience at appropriate times.

Individuals will be scored. Not necessarily that one of Obinoscopy/Katsumoto and one of Afam4eva/Ikengawo will advance to the second/final round. If for instance Afam comes 1st and Ikengawo comes 2nd, both will advance to final.

Mod, at the beginning of this thread you stated that

But seriously, I don't think you're keeping to your word.
The topic of this month which is:

How on earth do you think this topic won't lead to exchange of words due to "sensitive and emotional" discussion that might arise as the topic role?!

At a time that hatred has been heated up just because of a novel written by a prof.

Do you want to prove this topic would be debated without the mentioning of the civil war, the starvation and other delicate matters that shouldn't be brought up due to it's sensitivity and sadness it might cause readers.

There are millions of topics that can be discussed and would attract great traffic if this is the hidden agender the topic is all about.
Topic like this takes hatred and discrimination to a greater height.
No one is saying history should be forgotten, but the ones that seems delicate should be avoided
While we appreciate your criticisms, what we meant by 'sensitive topics' are topics that put an ethnic group against another and not 'sensitive topics' that affect the whole country. We cannot change our past, but sometimes we need to honestly analyse our past to formulate a good future for ourselves, that is the aim of debating such topic.

On the other hand, you can give me the links to the posts on the thread you want hidden.

Jarus: I'm liking this idea of having both Katsumoto and PointB on the panel, to neutralize two extreme points of views on politics section. Or do you guys think the exercise is better off leaving both of them out?
They are better as debaters. See people asking if we started the debate already, thanks to them cheesy
