PBundles: Um where did I state huge expenditure in any of my posts? Dude the medicine is wearing off, isnt it time you went to the Pharmacy for a refil. I hear
Schizophrenia does that.

Let me try once again. This a partnership (Im using the states website) in which the private investors do the FUNDING and the state provides the land (via lease) and support, details of which I dont have and I doubt if you do. Support can be in the form underwriting, guarantee on insurances, infrastructure and state assistance ( do you think that place will police itself, the state will need to step in). If Im not mistaken the lagos state goverment issued bonds a while back for N275 billion and in the prospectus sighted EKO City as one of the things it need to support. Hmmm.

Now here is where you may need the assistance of a friend who actually went to school and studied finance. You ready.....

If the land is not being sold, Im assuming you know that it isnt since everyone knows the builders/contractors/PIs are being given a 78 year long lease..... doesnt the contribution of land constitute, since they still own it, mean en equity contribution. Im just saying.

So to answer your question, the amount invested on behalf of the lagos state government is the book value of the 78 year lease contract. YAWN. Im getting sleepy educating you dude. Anymore questions, I heading off to lunch.

Dad was right, education is really an asset. Peace out.
You are not making sense bro. Am not an economist or a financial expert, but your argument doesn't make sense to me as a layman.

Are you saying because Government will have to perform his regular duties in a growing economy, they should shy away from supporting developments and investments that will generate thousands of jobs and millions/billions in revenue for the same government?

Let us even assume that government money is involved in this partnership, this is a viable investment for crying out loud. Or you think the private sector (home and abroad) investing their money on the project will put their penny if they don't see it viable?

Your argument of it not being a priority also doesn't hold ground. When should building a city be of a priority in a continuous growing state? and how does this investment affect provision of roads and power? Lagos state is one of the few states investing heavily in power and transportation?

I have nothing to say to your friend who think financial experts investing billions of their money are dreamers. Both of you are example of pessimists we don't need around government.

I just don't know why it is difficult to commend a good initiative when we see one. Looks like past government administrations have dealt massively on many Nigerians psyches and they just cant see anything good coming from the government again. too bad!

Nice thread!

This thread should not be derailed or turn tribal please.

About time we have new promising energetic breed of politicians. Enough of politicians that are too old to climb stairs or a 60yr old youth leader.
PoliticsCJN, Musdapher Nominates Female Successor, Gives Quit Notice by OAM4J(op): 3:24am On Apr 19, 2012
CJN nominates female successor, gives quit notice

JUSTICE Mariam Mukhtar Aloma is set to make history as the first ever female Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), as she has been nominated by the outgoing Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Dahiru Musdapher, as his successor-in-office.

Nigerian Tribune exclusively learnt that Musdapher, who would retire on July 15, 2012 when he would clock the mandatory 70 years, had also filed in his terminal notice.

Both the nomination of his second-in-command and quit notice, the Nigerian Tribune could disclose, had been submitted to the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC), which would nominate officially to the National Judicial Council (NJC), which would, in turn, recommend her to President Goodluck Jonathan for appointment.

Curiously however, both issues were reportedly not discussed at the FJSC meeting that took place last Tuesday, though the CJN had forwarded the letters to the body since last week.

Aloma had recently rejected an offer for an international appointment when nominated as the Chief Judge of The Gambia.

It was also learnt that Musdapher’s initial plan to observe the traditional three-month terminal leave had been cancelled, with a source disclosing that “though he initially favoured it, we did not know why the arrangement just changed, because if he wanted to, he should have commenced the terminal leave by 15th of this month (April).”

Nigerian Tribune could also disclose that Katsina-Alu had given the reconciliation committee set up by the National Judicial Council (NJC) to reconcile him with the suspended president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Isa Salami, a wide possible berth.

Meanwhile, the constitutional issue raised by Salami on the power of NJC to sanction him could not go on at the Court of Appeal, Abuja division, due to the inability of the court to form a quorum.

chaircover: A 46 year old shouldn't have problems having and holding an erecttion.
You will be shocked to find out the number of guys in their 20s that live on Viagra and other related drugs to keep it up. I have a doctor friend so I know. Things are changing, mostly caused by people's diet and lifestyle.

chaircover: The fear of loneliness shouldn't stop you from making the right decision for you.
When many Nigerians use the word loneliness, it means more than being alone, many times it means absence of financial support. Yeah it can be very lonely when you don't have financial support.

@OP

Honestly, its your choice, nothing said here will change your husband's problem, so you need to sit down and weigh all the options. Do you want to live with your vows of "for better for worse, in health or in sickness" or you want to count your loss and move out? Only you can decide. But you can start from the angle of being open to your husband as advised by Chaircover and make an informed decision. Good luck!

Kobojunkie: Really? And what did you do with all the links I gave you up to this day? I mean go through this particular thread and check all the links I have handed you to date. At most, what YOU have done is delete a couple of posts here and there, and in some cases, joined those violating the rules, making excuses at the end of the day for why you are not going to delete the other offensive posts. Please do not deny YOU AND I have not had this chat before.

Many of the threads you openly comment on are culprits. How much have you done about those, if we were to start with just those?

Again, stop flipping your mind willy-nilly like people with hormonal imbalance. Either you do your freaking job all the time or you completely stay away and let the forum continue to run wild as it has for years now. This your overnight, wake-up-on-one-thread-once-in-a-blue-moon act give are becoming the major headache.
OK. Noted! Thank you very much. I will try and improve.

Please still report the bad/insulting guys/posts that are not befitting of this good forum. I will do my best to always respond.

If I omit any, please point it out to me, I will take care of it and if I deliberately ignore it, I will tell you why.

Phone home, my broda; so they can tell you how many desperate meetings are being held by ACN and its clowns. Ode!

Come and dump on minorities to feel big na.

To the level headed observer, Yoruba people, not ACN people voted for GEJ. Please lets stop this conflation of ACN and Yoruba people, it is ethnic blackmail and it will only cause further annoyance.

Sorry, GEJ has called CPC worse names. In reaction, CPC has replied in kind; the one thing both CPC and PDP and all other parties do not do is employ ethnic blackmail. What kind of primitive people are in ACN?

For the bolded, except for a miracle, I think it might now be too late.
Too late? I advice you think twice especially if your boss is thinking of 2015.

Changing his name to Azikwe or Nnamdi will no longer get him '98%' from SE this time. Also He will be lucky to get 40% of the Northerners' votes and that includes NC. So you and your boss might still need to hold hands with Tinubu and Aregbesola. And this time sending a presidential jet to bring them to Abuja might not work, GEJ might need to come and 'dobale' for votes in Lagos grin
