handelex:Person no fit read posts here in peace again. |
Seun needs to do something ASAP. Person no dey enjoy it again. To login, refresh pages na war..... so frustrating. |
Illimitable:Maybe Fletcher is a Rookie, but John can't be qualified as a Rookie. He has been in the Game quite long and hopefully gonna be successful in his new/formal Job. |
We shouldn't be prophesizing Dooms for the newly appointed DoF and TD. We should rather hope they succeed at the new Assignments. We all clamored for it, we want Ed to step aside and gladly he has done the needful. They may not have juicy CVs, but let's see what they're capable of. We are wailing too much these days on this Board. Aint we tired? Win, Draw, Lose...... there must be war. New Development at the Club, yet no Joy on the Thread. Habaaaaa! |
afrodoc2:Fletcher's work is more or less a PRs Job. Selling the Club's cultures and values to potential/target Signings, simply to persuade them joining United. |
hoopLA:Fletcher is actually Technical Director, while John is the Director of Football. |
Solskjær: "He [Cavani] is proving his personality, his professionalism. He is really helping the young kids... as we wanted him to — he will make his decision. He knows we are very fond of what he has given to the club even if he has played less than he wanted to." |
Solskjær: "I can't comment on what has been said. I can only say that we are very pleased with Edinson [Cavani] when he is here. Day in and day out." |
Solskjær: "He [Fletcher] has got fresh ideas. He has a bright eye for football, a really keen eye — now a little bit less coaching and more influence on the other side. Go speak to players and sell Manchester United as the club he knows." |
Solskjær: "A few months back when we were making final decisions, there were other things in the pipeline for [Darren] Fletcher — one thing I was sure of was we couldn't lose Darren." |
Solskjær on Rashford: "I don't think he'll be available for tomorrow. Didn't train today — normally very optimistic but think he is out of tomorrow night and a doubt for the weekend." |
Solskjær: "I know John [Murtough] since I came and it is now more a formal role. He has been working well behind the scenes - he is a cultural fit. Very happy with what we have. Continuity and fresh ideas." |
Murtough’s new role will focus on player recruitment and ensuring the first-team has the operational support required. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will continue to have input into the recruitment process along with United’s worldwide scouting and data analyst network. They will report in to Murtough, who will head up the football operations. The new roles mean Woodward's involvement in transfers will be reduced. The recruitment department headed up by Murtough will decide on targets with Solskjaer having the final say. Murtough will now be the first point of contact for clubs who want to buy or sell players with Matt Judge, given a new title as Director of Football Negotiations, continuing to oversee the process of negotiating transfer deals and contract renewals. |
Murtough started his career as a sports scientist at Everton under former Manchester United manager David Moyes. He worked his way up to become their Head of Performance before leaving in 2012 to become Head of Elite Performance at the Premier League. He has become a close confidant of Ed Woodward having helped put the pathway in place which has produced Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and other top talents. He has overseen the United academy as well as leading an expansion of the scouting department and network. United have signed several talented youngsters in recent years with Murtough believed to be involved. For example, it was reported he travelled to Norway with French youth scout Mathieu Seckinger to watch Hannibal Mejbri as a 16-year-old before they splashed the cash to sign him from Monaco. According to Training Ground Guru, Murtough has also headed up special projects, such as developing a data science strategy similar to the ones use by rivals Liverpool and Manchester City. |
John will have overall leadership and responsibility for operations and strategy across all football functions, reinforcing the strong foundations already in place. This appointment builds on the work John has already undertaken in recent years, working closely with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the rest of the football staff to create the structures, processes and culture to deliver sustained success on the pitch. This has included successful overhauls of the club’s Academy and recruitment department. Darren will work closely with John to add technical input and direction into all football and performance areas. He will focus on a co-ordinated and long-term approach to player and squad development, helping maintain the integral link between the Academy and the first team, aligned with Manchester United’s values and culture. As Football Director, John will work day-to-day with Ole to align recruitment and other strategies and to ensure that the first team has the best-in-class operational support it needs to succeed. Ole will continue his role in the recruitment process, supported by extensive scouting and data analytics functions that will continue to report to John. Matt Judge will also report to John, with a new title of Director of Football Negotiations. |
Manchester United is pleased to announce the promotion of John Murtough to Football Director and Darren Fletcher to Technical Director, two new roles that will further strengthen the club’s football operations. |
Ain't surprised with what Liverpool is going through. Its expected and nothing is unusual about it. Klopp kelp playing same Lineup more than 2 Seasons. Dem be Robots, even na Robots, their Engines go knock. Liverpool Board are useless, they brought the Disaster on the Squad. |
obonujoker:Mou go dey confuse now. Whether to pack em well and cargo him back to Spain, or risk him for more season. |

BARAJ92:McFred is a better Combo for Clubs like Westham not United abeg. Do they even have third Eye to play well as Midfielders? LMAO when Fred was charging forward and hoping on someone to touch him so he can fall down jejely like riped Mango. |
olabode89:I repeat again, KDB is miles ahead of Bruno. I won't let Sentiment cloud my sense of judgement. You and I can see what KDB is capable of, but at times Bruno seems like Fred 2.0. |
One more thing...... KDB is miles ahead of Bruno. its a big CRIME rating them equally. |
Priority in the Summer should be mainly concentrated on getting a solid DM and world class CM. We can't win ordinary Spoon with McFred. At times it baffles to see the so called Professionals playing like Rookies, including Bruno. Ordinary pass, they can't string beyond 3. Ball control? Dribbling? Aswear..... Man United Players should be arrested and charged to ICC for financial Fraud. They're worse than Yahoo Yahoo Boys. |
If dem like, make dem win, if dem still prefer to draw or lose, na dia Cup of Coffee. Akkant kee masef. |
