“Paul’s an offensive player; he needs freedom and the team needs him to have that.

“He can score 10 a season. With his strength, the way he hits the ball with both feet, his ability in the air, you have to make the most of that.

“The team’s fine, enjoying the work, training well. I like Mourinho’s sessions: very dynamic, always with the ball.”

I will rather prefer Martial to lead the Line, flanked on the Right by Mata and Mkhtaryan on the Left!

We shouldn't be relying on Pace only, rather creativity. Mkhtaryan and Mata are capable of unlocking stubborn Defence with decisive and timely passes.

The Trio of Pogba, Herrera and Carrick are OK in the Midfield. Carrick can comfortably shield the Defence, Herrera will play B2B, and Pogba will play No. 10, with freedom to roam and dictate the rhythm of the Game as he did against Swansea City.

The Defence - Valencia, Bailly, Smalling/Rojo and Blind/shaw is quite OK!

Gary Neville says he would leave out both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney from Manchester United’s starting XI.

In a talk at the Oxford Union, the former United defender said he would play Marcus Rashford up front, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial both starting in wide positions.

Neville went for David De Gea in goal, a back four of Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind, and a midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick.

Andre Marriner has been selected to referee Manchester United's clash with Arsenal on Saturday lunchtime.

Marriner was in charge for Jose Mourinho's first Premier League game in charge at United, booking just one player in their 3-1 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on August 14.

He has officiated eight Premier League games so far this season, booking 29 players and issuing just one red card which he showed to Hull's Ahmed Elmohamady in their 5-1 defeat at Liverpool.

"Arsenal have got some really good players. When it clicks for them they are a very dangerous team and they've shown in their start to the season how dangerous they can be.

"But I think we can be quite dangerous as well and we probably haven't quite clicked into top gear which, in some ways is a good thing, because we know there's plenty to come. And if we can just hang in there and not be too far away we feel when we do hit top form we'll have a right say in it."

"We want to be at the top challenging. We've had some ups and downs along the way, it's not to say that we've given up on winning things just yet - it's too early for that and we've got too much quality and too much of a good team and squad to give up on anything.

"We just don't feel we've got the results our performances have warranted; we know it can change, we're not up to Christmas yet, there's still so much to play for and we still believe that when it comes near the end and when it counts we'll be right up there.

"Some players peak quite early, some players peak late but to compare individuals can be quite tough. I do feel that experience does help and the understanding of the game does help you.

"But at the same time you lose the other attributes that you had maybe when you were younger, because physically sometimes it catches up with you. So at the moment I feel good physically, but to compare with different players can be misleading at times.

"It's the way it goes as time ticks by, you end up being the oldest one. I mean I'm not one who goes around shouting and screaming and sort of dictating to the young boys what to do.

"It's just if I see something I'll try to give them advice, if they come and ask for something I'm always there to speak to and I try to help them because its important.

"I don't know if I will get a chance, but I hope so. I still feel fit at 32 and certainly want to play more years at the top level, and of course I want to win things.

"We won the FA Cup last year and that was also one of my aims. Of course it would be great to play for United in the Premier League and perhaps win it.

"If I am needed, I will give everything -- I am ready. I'm not one to think of burying my head in the sand.

"My rhythm is good -- of course it's different when you play each weekend compared with when you are only training --- but I enjoy my football."

Hi everyone,

Today I’m writing from London. We have landed here from Granada after Saturday’s game against Macedonia.

We are staying in a hotel just opposite the stadium and from my room I can see this historic venue where I have had very exciting moments. As I said before, last Saturday we got an important win against Macedonia to follow the pace of Italy and Israel and remain on top of the group. In particular, I’d like to congratulate Aduriz for a historic goal (it’s commendable that he keeps himself in such a good shape year after year), and Monreal for his first goal with Spain. Before taking a break with the national team until March, we have a special date. As you know, Wembley brings me very good memories, such as my – so far – two titles with Manchester United (the FA Cup and the Community Shield this year), together with the 2012 FA Cup when I was playing in Chelsea, which was my first trophy in England.

Following this friendly game, all the players from Manchester United will go back home to get ready for a frenetic second half of November: four games in Old Trafford. The team is eager to find a good streak and after defeating Swansea we are looking forward to playing Arsenal at the weekend. We want to give our best and a good atmosphere at the stadium, as always when we play against Arsenal, can take us one step closer to the victory. The top end of the Premier League table is very tight and we are going to work hard to keep a good streak and approach those top spots.

Have a nice week. I hope you can enjoy a great night at Wembley.

Hugs,

Juan

"Mourinho’s an attacking coach; what he’s not is a kamikaze: he doesn’t have us playing like mad men. He likes the ‘rest defence’ but he’s an attacking coach who gives players freedom.

"He’s also honest, sincere, says what he thinks to your face. If a coach isn’t honest, players rumble him. There’s a very good relationship. Mourinho’s very straight.”

"He [Jose Mourinho] says what he thinks and he says it to your face. He says it when it is something we will like, but he also says it when it is something we won't like.

"The team is enjoying the day to day. Training is very dynamic and everything is with the ball so the players never lose concentration - there are no really long sessions or long team talks.

"He really understands what a footballer needs."

"I have come here because Mourinho has given me the opportunity to take on a new position and I feel comfortable with it.

"I'm more defensive now, playing in front of the back four. I think I have that ability to win the ball back quickly when we lose it. I have taken a leap forward at United which has allowed me to get into the national side."

Injury Updates.......!!!

It remains unclear whether Luke Shaw will be available for selection when Arsenal visit Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday. Marouane Fellaini is also presumably a doubt for that match, after Belgium manager Roberto Martinez confirmed his return to United with a calf injury last week.

Antonio Valencia and Eric Bailly are definitely unavailable with long-term injuries, while the severity of Chris Smalling’s problem is yet to be confirmed by the club’s medical team.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are sweating on the fitness of Alexis Sanchez after the former Barcelona man suffered a muscle injury while training with Chile during the first week of the international break.

Long-term absentees Hector Bellerin, Lucas Perez, Santi Cazorla, Per Mertesacker and former United striker Danny Welbeck will also miss out on the blockbuster game at the Theatre of Dreams.

I gave Onazi top marks for putting his career on the line by taking that bang to deny the Algerians. He got injured as a result of that gash but still soldiered on.
It was clear his level dropped notch after that injury.
It wasn't like he was average prior to that. You may not notice but he was partly the reason why Algeria didn't trouble our defence and goalkeeper in the first half.
Algeria couldn't link the ball to Slimani from the midfield because onazi extinguished and intercepted their moves once they got close to our final third.
Rewatch the match, this time without tension to understand what am saying.

Lol!

Some are really trying hard to defend the indefensible! Iheanacho is no doubt, a very good Player, but he flopped as a Striker Yesterday.

We do not need to keep dragging it, Iheanacho would excel as a SS than as a Striker. His touches, controls, off-ball movement as well as link-up play were poor Yesterday.

He should be played like Griezman! Play him behind a Striker, and you gonna have the joy of seeing him play good football!

Super Eagles may become a Team made of Foreign-born Nigerians. If Ebuehi eventually makes it to the Team, it would be only Echiejile - the blackman in the defence!

Keeper - Carl Ikeme
RB - Ebuehi
CB - Ekong
CB - Balogun
LB -?!

AFRICA IS LUCKY WE ARENT COMING FOR AFCON 2017..... DEM FOR HEAR AM!!!!!

Meanwhile, Iheanacho as a no.9 didnt work out well today. His only shot was that late chance he missed after fine pass from musa from the right wing.

Iheanacho strives more as "the-man-behind-the-striker", no.10/no.8 for Nigeria.

The false 9 attempt by Rohr didnt work as he was isolated oftentimes and was only involved in the build-up to our second goal....

He can play the false 9 but it's strange to Nigeria right now... So he was isolated.

THIS SUPER EAGLES TEAM JUST SENT A MESSAGE TO THE REST OF AFRICA... AFTER RUSSIA 2018. WE ARE COMING IN FULL FORCE FROM AFCON 2019... A NEW GOLDEN ERA IS HERE INDEED. That's the name of the thread afterall... wink
Spot on!!!

Iheanacho is more or less like Greizman! To see the best of him..... you gonna have to play him as SS or No. 10!

Mikel:

What an amazing lesson from the veteran in the art of possession football. So much class in his touches and his confidence in attracting players to him when he shields the ball is impressive. Chuckled when, Mikel guided the ball until an Algerian player through him on the ball.

He is developing a brilliant understanding with Iwobi and I bet Mikel is the happiest with the addition of Etebo.

His goal was sweet because, I shouted offside when he got the ball. He glanced at the linesman before a clever trick finish.

What we need to do now is simple: start calling Alampasu for all our games. Make him play in our friendly matches for at least 45 minutes. That's the way to groom him as second choice. All these Akpeyi, Ezenwa will not help our ministry.
Thank you my Bro! Goodjoe was right on talent over experience. I think you've proffered solution already. We do not need to recall Enyeama, we only need to groom Alampasu through friendly Matches!

How many Shots did the Algerians have on Target?!

His Look on the Pitch shows he's really what I called him. The Match is over already, I'm ain't panicking anymore hence I have no reason to be angry at him and calling him a Fool again!

I pray we have a fit, injury free, Carl Ikeme for our next Game, otherwise I would prefer Alampasu to him.
