EducationDifference Between National Common Entrance Exam And State Common Entrance by obaf(op): 1:04pm On Apr 09, 2019
I will like to know the difference between primary/Secondary school cross over entrance exam for pupil. My children are in primary 5, but 10yrs and I want them to go to secondary now, they will be writing National Common Entrance Exam, but not yet registered for any state Common entrance because their school doesn’t have any pupil in Primary 6!
I am now confuse if the NCEE is enough for them to gain entrance into any secondary school of their choice after doing the school’s entrance exam or they still need to do the state common entrance before any private school will take them for secondary school?
Will appreciate any urgent advise !

CrimePlease Advice, How Should I Handle This? by obaf(op): 9:08pm On May 10, 2018
I will like you to advice me on this!
Robbers came to my house on December 5, 2017 and took 4 customers laptops from my house including mine. I was just recovering from it , am a public servant, IT personal.
Last week Friday, I went to buy laptop for myself, Went to computer village , i have made enquiries about the laptop I wanted and the sales boy I met on ground took the laptop for some installations in another shop near and I was all alone in their shop, one boy (a teenager)came in and said he want to sell his old Lenovo , and i spoke with the guy, checked out the laptop, it's used and dirty but something I can clean up and use, keyboard not functioning, so I asked him how much is he selling, he said 20k, priced for 15k, some other guys came in, we excused ourselves outside, asked for his job and why he's selling, he said he's a student and lost his phone that he can't have almost dead ideapad laptop and no phone. Asked for his ID card, he said he doesn't have, asked his phone number he said it's with d stolen phone, that he just want to go and buy phone. So I took his picture, gave him my other phone number to call me so I can have his number. It was almost raining so we quickly parted ways that he will call me to have his phone number, the rain was heavy and lasted more than 30/60mins, I didn't see him or hear from him. Immediately after the rain, went combing all the street but didn't see him. But I've been uncomfortable holding the laptop. It could be a stolen one and this boy has my number with him. My mind is not settled. I eventually got my own laptop, because that one was more of a scrap, although I've cleaned it up now a bit.
Pls what can I do? I don't want to have any police case/issue in case this boy turned out to be a thief? This was an unnecessary buy! What do you advice I do?

"Buhari and Politics of Religion by Abubakar Evuti

http://dailypost.com.ng/2013/05/10/abubakar-evuti-buhari-and-the-politics-of-religion/

No politician, I understand, has been a victim of religious bigotry as Muhammadu Buhari. He, Buhari, in my opinion is the most misconstrued politician. Loved by many in the North of Nigeria for many reasons —including, and perhaps especially for, the fact that he is a Muslim and largely disregarded in the South for some reasons but largely because he is a Muslim.

Muhammadu Buhari has been accused (unofficially of course) of having a secret plan of Islamizing Nigeria, of saying that, at the polls, Christians should vote Christians and Muslims, Muslims and several other statements with the theme of religious bigotry.
I have argued, perhaps too fiercely, each time I hear such stories. I have hollered questions; why did he say it? When did he say that? Where did he say that? And the answers have always being; “you never heard that story before?”

The 2011 elections, more than other elections, saw more attempts of mud-throwing at the name of Muhammadu Buhari. And till present day, the government, through its spokesmen- especially the loquacious Mr. (or is it Dr.?) Doyin Okupe – has tried to paint a picture of a politician, a bitter loser and a religious intolerant man with the face of Muhammadu Buhari.
Doyin Okupe has intentionally caused the name “Buhari” and “Boko Haram” to appear in headlines. He, Okupe, has implied a lot of things —among which is that Buhari, at least by inaction, has allowed the continuous reign of terror by Boko Haram. Okupe has being going forwards and backwards, attacking here and attacking there, vomiting words and, when circumstance demands, eating back his vomit. Personally, I don’t want to protest against him or his polity-tensing statements. I have taken my measure from his statements and I am of the opinion that he is a man of low integrity. I suspect that his ambition is not to be seen as one of the “attack lions” of the Jonathan-led government but THE “attack lion” of the Jonathan-led government.
But Okupe- his vain attempts of mud-throwing at Buhari- is not the concern of this article. We are concerned about Muhammadu Buhari- his religious belief, his perception of Christians and Christianity and his idea of how the two major Nigerian religions can exist in peace.

Muhammadu Buhari, as we all know, is a Muslim. I have being examining his speeches and his understandings of Nigeria- her two major religions, their tense relationship- and I have seen that they are worthy of examination and reflection. Below is a part of the speech he made at the 4th Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture on February 15, 1998:
(All emphasis mine)

“Religion is the anchor in the lives of the majority of our people. Besides giving meaning and direction to us, it serves as a means of succor and support against the turbulence and vicissitudes of life. It gives people a value system that inculcates a sense of right and wrong and which ultimately becomes a more effective anti-crime savior than any armed police force. Somehow, unfortunately, despite the attachment of our people to the letter of their faith and their readiness to defend it with all their strength, there is no corresponding concern with its spirit; and, consequently, this has not translated into Nigerians becoming their brothers’ keepers. And nowhere is this failure so glaring as in the way and manners officials treat matters entrusted to them by virtue of their public office. Yet they are not shunned by religious leaders. Our Ulama and priests will pray for and bless every charlatan, bless every accursed occasion or deed so long as there is someone to foot their bill. Our society must reject this and quickly put these miscreants and pseudo-scholars out of business.

More importantly, WE MUST ALSO FORCEFULLY RESIST THOSE WHO WISH TO SET OUR SOCIETY ON THE PATH OF RELIGIOUS CONFLICT.

The recent past was unfortunate, the present is not good enough; and it is our duty to create a future that should become a model for all multi-religious societies. We must get together or we shall all get it together. Our principal religions share a heritage that ought to be used to forge links between Muslims and Christians. Both are revealed, monotheistic faiths that teach tolerance and peaceful co-existence. The recent visit of the Pope was a good sign of tolerance and mutual determination to put past mistrust aside.

Christianity preaches love and is founded upon love and true belief in the one true God as the life of Jesus Christ (AS) symbolizes. Islam means peace and submission to the will of the same one true God. The life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who ,during his lifetime ,interacted ,received and discussed issues of theology with Christian priests right inside Masjid an-Nabawi, his mosque and the second holiest sanctuary in Islam, should be sufficient as an indication to the type of brotherhood and tolerance that Islam teaches, demands and practices. If nowadays this type of interaction doesn’t exist, Muslims must search their souls, and ask themselves if they indeed copy the example of the Holy Prophet in their dealings with the People of the Book, as Christians are called in Islam.

In the same vein, our priests must be able to know that Islam is very deferent from what missionary education teaches, and to distinguish between the agenda of Christianity and the agenda of western imperialism. The Qur’an teaches Muslims that among those closest to them are the Christians.

Perhaps it can with justice be said that the problem of leadership is most acute in the domain of religion; because, more than in other areas leadership in the religious sphere tends to lead from behind. Leaders seem to wait to determine what the mob wishes to hear, and they tell exactly that. But the mob is frequently a blood-thirsty creature which has no place in the scheme of any of our civilized monotheistic faiths.

WHOSOEVER THEREFORE IN THE NAME OF EITHER RELIGION PREACHES INTOLERANCE IS CLEARLY AN ADHERENT OF NEITHER, AND OUR SOCIETY MUST EVOLVE A WAY OF UNMASKING THE HIDDEN AGENDA AT WORK.

We must understand provocation while it is being planned and stop it before it happens. We must educate our zealot to learn that his right ends where those of his neighbor begin. Everyone must be made to accept that we are all one vast family under the lordship of God; and it is He alone who can pass judgment over his bondsmen.
Knowing this, we should try to heal the wounds of past conflicts whether caused by provocation, sour memories of history, external instigations or plain accidents.

For the future, I wish to suggest that Christians and Muslims must break down the barrier of suspicion, hostility and misunderstanding; and the best way of doing this is by directly talking to each other. It is certainly time to begin a dialogue between Christianity and Islam at all levels – individual, communal, national and even international – to reassure ourselves, save our present and preserve our future, and have a basis for hope here and the hereafter.

We must always remember whether we believe in destiny or not, we will all die. Whether we believe in the hereafter or not, we will all go there. And whether we call ourselves secular or whatever, the truth is that ours is a very religious society, however short on example and however long on precept. And we should be proud of the fact that we are religious. We are not one bit impressed by the evolving legacy of this modern permissive godlessness which wishes to reject all kinds of authority. Freedom must limit itself or be limited by force when anarchy threatens to result. In obedience to God we recognize and must always uphold the necessity of the existence of the family unit, of the indispensability of organized society and leadership; and we accept the authority of parents, elders and those in constituted authority who promote justice.”

Sorry Op, My advise is do not divorce her, but you need to seperate for a while from her, inform her immediate family.
Be closer to God, make contact with your baby once in a while.
Find in your heart to forgive her.
Study her from afar.
Even if you can trail her 3months after the seperation to see if she's seeing someone else, cos if she is , means she's not repentant.
Mind you, it wasnt a mistake, they were just caught, they were enjoying it.
Its a pity you have to go through the whole pain, but u need a break from her for some time.
if you see you misses her and you've gotten over urself you can mend ways.
i know you're trying to cover her shame and affecting your extended family but she needs to realise her bad ways, that the only way you will come to forgive her.
Divorce is not worth it. definitely there's something in you she doesn't like that she didn't discuss, instead, made up with the guy. and some women are weak.
So try and talk to her very well, and seek ur seperation pending the time you get ur self back.
good luck

PoliticsAll The Promises Of Mr President In Each State Of The Federation In 2011 by obaf(op): 2:32pm On May 09, 2013
LETTER TO MR PRESIDENT: REMEMBER YOUR PROMISES

Dear Mr President,

It was with shock and utter disbelief that I received the news that you had 25 per cent in 28 states plus Federal Capital Territory. According to the 1999 constitution, a winner needs the majority of votes and at least 25 percent of votes in 24 states of the 36 states of the federation. So far you have won 25 percent in 28 states, leaving your closest rival, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) with victories in only 12 states. I know you and your cronies will be celebrating and popping the proverbial champagne now but here is a word of caution from perhaps one of your worst critics.

Allow me to explain that the presidential victory of April 16th was a victory for yourself and not necessarily for the PDP, which you are a part and parcel of. This should reveal without any equivocation that the elections were not driven by issues, but sentiments about personalities, religion and ethnicity. It is my opinion that as a nation we should grow our democracy to achieve a situation whereby persons win elections on the basis of merit and actual performance not sentiments, and certainly not with the aid of financial inducements, blackmail and violence.

I will not bore you with all the expectations Nigerians (the ones who voted for you, anyway) – I believe you know all of these and intend to meet all of them.

Nevertheless, I intend to remind you of all the myriad of promises you made during your political campaign throughout the country. In my generosity, I have listed some of them for you here.

1. You promised to rule for only one term (reference http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-12339017)

As a man of your words or rather as you want to make us believe, PLEASE stick to this plan and pledge. I sincerely hope we will not have political jobbers, groups like Youths Earnestly Ask for Jona, Dbanj, Lagbaja, Sunny Ade all singing for your second term bid? I sincerely hope also, you will not come out and openly deny you didnt make such promise or statements as you did about the zoning saga.

2. You promised a constitutional role for Traditional Rulers!!! I am short of words but Nigerians are waiting

3. On March 17th 2011, in Dutse the Jigawa state capital, you promised: “If I win the election, within my four years in office, I will establish domestic airports in all the states without airports, WE ARE WAITING.
4. In Nasarawa, at the flag-off of your campaign you promised at least a university in every state including building specialist almajiri schools to shore up education in the North so as to eradicate illiteracy. The Almajiris are waiting o!

5. On February 8th in Ibadan, the day you called some people “rascals”, you promised to create jobs and improve the power sector. The Oyo people and indeed all Nigerians are waiting!!!

6. On Feb 9th, you were in Bauchi and you promised to intensify oil and gas exploration in the North-East as part of efforts to harness resources for economic development. Also you pledged to boost agriculture, power and water

supply for wealth creation and revenue generation. Then you assured that projects such as the Mambilla hydro-electricity, Jada irrigation project and Kafin Zaki dam in Taraba, Adamawa and Bauchi would be pursued to boost

agriculture and industrial development. Then you promised that your administration would establish two universities in the region. The NORTH EAST PEOPLE ARE WAITING.

9. You landed in Port Harcourt on Feb 12 where you made a lot of promises, maybe to woo your Niger Delta people. Be that as it may, you announced that the NNPC, in partnership with the private sector, would establish a petrochemical plant in the Niger Delta (you didnt state where exactly). You promised the plant will create job opportunities for the Niger Delta youths. Then you went ahead to promise the implementation of Local Content Law and Petroleum Industry Bill. In case you cant remember when you made all these, cast your mind back to the stampede that claimed some lives (where your wife called them martyrs).

10. In Kaduna, you promised massive transformation of the agricultural sector through construction of large dams and distribution of one million metric tonnes of fertilizers for the 2011 farming season (The rains are here already, so fulfil your promises o). You also pledged to establish Almajiri model schools to address the challenges of the Almajiris.

11. In Benue, you promised to revolutionize agriculture and establish industries in the country through a five-year plan (We need that Plan now so we can keep track, the five years have started counting already). You also promised to complete the irrigation project in Otukpo. Then you promised that the second Niger Bridge and the Benue Bridge projects will be worked on in the next four years. I think its better to start now so by April 2015, we trust you would have completed it.

12. February 17th, you were in Plateau where you shocked the entire country with amazing promises. First of all, you pledged to refocus on the solid mineral development of the state and make it one of the key revenue sources in

Nigeria. The Plateau people are banking on you. Mr President, You promised to build more dams and complete ongoing ones, so as to boost agricultural growth. In addition you promised to complete the Vom-Manchok-Jos road to boost

economic links between Plateau and Kaduna states. You left the state and the Plateau people have been happy ever since and now that you have won, they are waiting

13. Mr President on Feb 21, you were in Kogi. You promised among other things that the dredging of the River Niger and Lokoja-Abuja road dualisation would be completed very soon. THE KOGI PEOPLE AND INDEED NIGERIANS ARE HOPING AND WAITING

14. In Kwara State on February 22, you pledged that the irrigation project in Shonga would be completed soon to boost the commercial farming activities of the New Nigeria Farmers in the area. Mr president, remember you also said the Jebba-Mokwa road and Jebba bridge would be given adequate attention to ease transportation in the area. Kwarans are waiting!

15. On February 24, Mr. President, you pledged to rehabilitate all ailing industries in Aba. I believe all Abians are hoping on you to provide the enabling environment to do their businesses, you must keep your promises,

16. Mr. President, on Feb 25th in Anamabra you said there is a plan to build a power station in the state, assuring that within the next four years your administration would construct and rehabilitate ALL federal roads leading to Anambra as well as the South East. You equally promised to provide potable water to the densely populated Onitsha and Nnewi cities and tackle erosion in the South-East. To tell you the truth, Mr. President, Anambrians are banking on you!

17. In Ebonyi state, you promised to dualize the Enugu-Abakaliki federal highway in addition to establishing a secretariat for ALL Federal government’s agencies and parastatals in Ebonyi. Mr. president, The people of Ebonyi have never had it so good since the creation of their state. Now, you have promised them the good life. Please keeep to your words!

18. In Niger state, you promised the more power generation. Perhaps the most important aspect of your promises is that your government would map out a five-year strategic plan for road projects. (Please we are waiting for the Plan

NOW!!!!)

19. On Feb 27, you were in Asaba, the Delta state. On that fateful Sunday, you revealed that “The NNPC is developing a new programme that will absorb about 5,000 youths,” Mr. President, Deltans are delighted at this REVELATIONS.

While that number is a far cry from the number of unemployed youths in the state, at all at all na winch (as we say in Warri), so Deltans are waiting.

20. On March 2nd, you were in Ondo where you promised that roads and other basic infrastructure across the states will be developed in four years. In addition you also promised the exploitation of the vast bitumen deposits in the

state for national economic development and employment generation. The Ondo people are waiting. Your Four years have started already. You must start now.

21. On the same day, March 2nd, your campaign train was in Ekiti state. While there, you promised that more than N50 billion federal intervention projects were ongoing in the state. You can be rest assured that the Fayemi and indeed

the entire Ekiti kete are waiting for you.

22. On March 9th, in Sokoto, you promised to rehabilitate the abandoned Shagari irrigation project as well as reviving the nation’s rail system and fight the menace of desertification in the country. Sokoto people have suffered for too long. This is your time to redeem your pledge, Mr President. The clock is ticking!!!

23. The date was March 12th 2011 and you were in Ogun state. Remember, the day you rode to Abeokuta through rail? Yes, that was the day you promised an improved power supply before the end of the year through the Integrated Power Project (IPP) initiative. You also pledged to build more refineries, encourage downstream activities, resuscitate rail transportation and create jobs. In case you have forgotten, that was the day that Gbenga Daniel (your South West campaign coordinator was booed by the Ogun people).

24. On March 14th, your campaign trained moved to Kebbi where you promised to establish a federal university next year (2012). You also promised to create jobs through science and technology, tackle environmental challenges and boost health care delivery.

25. Katsina, was your port of call on March 15 where you promised to enhance the living standard of Nigerians through implementation of people-oriented programmes that would provide citizens the necessary opportunities to realize their potentials. In my opinion, this was just mere rhetorics as you did not make any concrete promises. Or did you have the premonition, you will lose in Katsina? I might just be right.

26. In Kano, you pledged to resuscitate the nation’s power sector and encourage the development of small and medium scale enterprises in the country while ensuring justice, equity and fair play in the polity.

Now on Osun state, my home state, the state of the living spring, the state that stood out by voting ACN in the whole of the country. Have heard from Tajudeen Oladipo (PDP south west vice chairman) that Osun state will suffer for not voting PDP in the last presidential election. I hope you wont take after Obasanjo who refused to fund Osun state in the days of Bisi Akande's 1999 regime and Bola Tinubu's regime in Lagos state. Please do prove to the likes of Tajudeen Oladipo that, GEJ is so much distinct from PDP selfish agenda.
Mr. President, space will not allow me to list the deluge of promises in Lagos, Borno, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Imo, Taraba, Jigawa, Edo, Bayelsa and Zamfara states. If you can accomplish all your promises in the next four
years, then you will go down memory lane as the best President ever.
Nigerians are anxiously waiting for results, the changes and all other goody goody you promised them.
Thank you.

The boy has realized he was duped, after going thru some psychological session. He had agreed & accepted. Its only the fear of paying back all the money he collected from family & friends that is disturbing him now, which I have been able to make him calm down.
We will have to ignore those scammers, in as much the pain is, in as much d bitterness of them getting away with it, we don't have a case! They'll say they collected money for his spiritual cleansing, which was d ploy they used in getting to him.
I never or will never give him any money for any kind of arrangement, the only authority that I can prove to, that is suppose to handle such situation are corrupt too. My guy that was duped of 5.6million, after arresting those people, paying 100k for prosecution of the dupes, nothing is out d case for the past 5week. And he resumes at police headquaters everyday. Don't think I have that time or energy.
The best way is to go beat them up, what if they call in their own police, arrest us as thief, even if u go with mopol without d police station in dat area's command, its illegal, will be arrested with the mobol, on top someone's stupidity.
I leave it to God to punish them.

have been advice to let go of the case, and just find a cure for him to come to his senses, that he's been duped.
we live in a wicked world, have been hearing all these kind of gist, never expected it to happen to someone close to me like this and police can not do anything about it, unless am ready to stress myself and might not or will not get anything out of it. embarassed

So many people are telling me i cant get anything back, but i like the style @cog1 said. that there's no justice in scams like this, because they work directly with police, that i should just go and work on my bro in law to clear his eyes and move on. that if i go in commando style, it can turn out to be a big problem, and counter productive, which will be a big mess, which i dont think i need.

FamilyPls My Brother In Law Is Hypnotized, How Do I Handle The Scammer? by obaf(op): 6:31am On Jul 06, 2012
It all started last year Dec,2011. My junior brother in law 27yrs, started behaving somehow, collecting money from everyone, borrowing & taking out all his life savings, he operate a small dry cleaning shop. Till like march,2012. He'd collected their house rent kept in his care & some other money because he still stay with my mother in law in pretense that a friend of his sent him a container of Plasma TV & he has done all d paper work, he doesn't disclose or discuss with anybody or other siblings, will just say he's coming! He has a business to quickly handle. We even thought it has all die down by that March/April. Only for him to start looking for money again, begging around, after he'd spent like 800k or more on what we can not see, because he keep saying the proceed from the business will soon come out, as an adult, we gave him privilege of doubt. Only for him to be looking for more money.
After the whole pressure on d family for house rent & other wahala that I know it'll bounce on me at the end, went to see him where I ran to, he ran out of the house when question was getting to much. Gave him my trust, that its no problem, he then open up, that there's no container anywhere.
That one day in Dec,2011, he met a man around Ijaye, lagos that told him he had spiritual problem & he followed to Sango Ota ( probably under spell) they gave him some spiritual stories, he needs cleansing & all sort of rubbish, so they started collecting money from him, they will buy black horse for him, bury d head,so he kept looking for more money, keep taking it to them. His head is still not clear. He now said they showed him d money they made for him but he needs 200k to mix with d money so he'll have a lot of money! That's what he's looking for now. I didn't condemn him, I had to make him trust me to open up, so I told him, I'll give him 200k on friday, cos he said he doesn't have to take it to them, they asked him to place in it in 4 corners of his room, & he'll come next day to come pick money that he'll mix with it(foolish thing).

Pls this is where I need help, 1. Pls do I get the 200k, so he can trust me more & be able to take us to the place on Sat?
2. Do I report at the police station? Which I know if I do, the case is dead from beginning because the man has enough money to throw around, he will just get bail from police & go free after a day, & I don't think I have time to follow any case up.
3. Do I just get Mobile Police Men, go to the d place in a Commando style, harrass the man, get all d money we can from him at that point. If he can't part with some, deal with him, beating & destroy some of his properties & leave.
4. My brother in law's head is not clear yet, I believe he's still under their spell, because he still beliefs that there's still money somewhere waiting for him.

Pls help I need suggestions & help desperately, before I take any action. I need to deal with d people even if we are not going to get the money back, because if we take it to police station, they will kill the case, & the guy will continue destroying people's lives.

Have used both, when u talk of reliability, go for C class,it served well for 4yrs! Just sold it dis year! Now using Honda 05,which is more flexible & comfortable! I think u should go for Honda, its newer & more prestigious!
The call is urs. C class engine doesn't die! But u can't drive Honda in d flood of water!
But C class is rugged!

If he likes he shoul dbe member of church or mosque, it doesnt matter!!!
i can bet it with you, 95% of church & mosque goers are going to same hell, so its not about the religion you practise!!!
If he's a good man to God, no man can condemn him, but if he's fetish, God will judge him.
That doesnt mean he cant govern his people well.
