Reski: and let me add this is there any christain that worship with his face to the ground according to nehemeahHow many churches have you been to? Try go to some of those churches you will see that they are free to pray in any posture convenient for them. We are not mandated to pray in any form, rather we are encourage to have a righteous heart before we pray. Posture does not guaranteed answered prayer. |
Reski: Hi nairalanders just saw some intresting things about islam right inside the bible and i decided to share it with you guys. 1.islamic monotheism according to the bible:the first pillar of islam was mentioned in chronicles17:20 There is no God beside you according to all we have heard with our ears. Also isaiah 46:9 states remember the former things of old for i am God and there is no other I am God and there is none like me.the meaning of this statement in isaiah is lailaha illallahu whch is the basis of islamic beleive. 2.islamic prayer in the bible(salat):islamic prayer was mentioned in the bible in the book of nehemiah 8:5-6 And ezra blessed the lord, the great God, and all the people answered Amen,Amen lifting up their hands and they bowed their heads and worshipped the lord with their faces to the ground. This is muslim congregational prayer mentioned in the bibleNote the highlighted portion. I think that is where you got it wrong. Christians kneel down to pray. And if there is no chair for them to rest their chest, they would be bowing down and touching their head to the ground. Abraham prayed in such physical posture, Elijah did also and that does not reflect religion, rather it proves that God is to be bowed to. Our Yoruba culture dictates that a mam bow and a woman kneel down to the ground, would you say is islamic also?as christains dont worship God with their faces to the ground, they only stand like an electric pole dance sing and clap their hands.Stay tuned for more proves from the bible that islam is the only religion of God. There is no reason why anyone should be promoting religion, rather, we should all be promoting God. We wouldn't be better than pagan if we celebrate religion superiority. Genesis 18:2 "2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground," 1 Kings 18:42 "42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees," |
channel 190: AMEN...I wish, we had one religion. Not really, do you know there is more than one doctrine of islam? The Sunni, Shi'a, Sufi and Ahmaddiya There is no perfect religion, just as there is no perfect culture http://orvillejenkins.com/outlineintro/types.html Religion is like a culture, everyone, group and nation has its own. They do not take you to heaven, but cause commotion. You do not need religion to get to heaven, you need to follow God to get to heaven. Some of the religion of today are some of the things Jesus try to take away during his time. e.g you can not heal people on sunday, this are principles or culture that make people become fanatics but does not reflect what God wants us to do. The same can be said on islam.(but this section is not dedicated for Quran, so we focus on bible only)You can keep all these principles like culture in religion and still be devil. |
Angels prophesied to Sarah Genesis 18 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about how God changed Abram and Sarai's name. Sarah is promised a child and the circumcision as a covenant between God and Abraham. In todays lesson we will be learning about how the angels prophesied to Sarah that she will have a son, God's plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, the angels visitation and the communication between God and Abraham. Today's Study When Abraham was seating in the front of the tent door on sunny day, God appeared to him in the plain of Mamre, where he saw three men standing by him. When he saw them he ran to them and bow to the ground. Then Abraham begged them to stay with him so he can get them water to drink and wash their feets. He also admonished them to get some rest under the tree so he can get them some bread and have some comfort. And they agreed to stay with Abraham.(Genesis 18:1-5) Then Abraham quickly went inside to tell Sarah to make quickly some food for the visitors. Then Abraham went to get the food for them and served them. Then they ask where Sarah was and Abraham told them she was in the tent. One of the men said, he will visit them in the time of life and Sarah shall have a son and sarah heard it. (Genesis 18:6-10) However Abraham and Sarah had stopped making love, because they were old. So Sarah laughed that after she and her husband are of old age, we they still make love? Then the lord said to Abraham why did Sarah laughed that she is old to have a child? Is anything to hard for God to do? And he assured him that in a year time, Sarah will have a child, but Sarah denied that she laughed, because she was afraid. (Genesis 18:11-15) Then the (men) angel rose up and went towards Sodom and Abraham saw them off. And the lord said, how will he do things without telling Abraham; especially when Abraham shall eventually become great and mighty nation through which the earth will be blessed. Because he knows that Abraham will discipline and tutor his children to keep God's way, doing justice and judgment; and he will bring to pass all that he has promised him.(Genesis 18:16-19) Then God determine to go down to see the cry of sin coming out of Sodom and Gomorrah. And the men turned there face to Sodom, but Abraham stood before the lord. Then Abraham move closer to God asking if he will destroy the righteous with the wicked should there be fifty righteous men in the city? and he also said, It is not a good thing to destroy the 50 righteous people with the wicked, even the judges of this world know the right things to do.(Genesis 18:20-25) Then God said if there are up to 50 righteous people in sodom and Gomorrah, he will not destroyed them. Abraham then said though he knows he is not worthy to talk to God, but he will ask, what if there is 45, God said, he would not destroy because of 45. Then Abraham asked again what if there is 40, 30, 20, and he then asked, for this last time what if there is 10, and God said he will not destroy because of 10. Then God left Abraham because he had done talking and Abraham returned to his tent.(Genesis 18:26-33) Reflection Its not abnormal to see God in all that we do if you are children of God doing his will and have been waiting patiently. Children of God should have obligation to take care of strangers, especially when they are expecting. Abraham does not know the visitors that came visiting on a sunny afternoon, but he must have been compel by the spirit of God that this three people are angels of God. As christians we should give to strangers and not condemn them with their look. Angels would hardly come as a rich fellow, but in an humble state. "2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."(Hewbrew 13:2) The passage made us to understand that when the angels were served and taken care off, they prophesied into Sarah's life that she will have a child. Even though she did not believe because of her present condition, yet God bring it to pass. May the God of all season visit every barren woman reading this today. If God is purpose to bless us, he would not care even when we don't believe him. "24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it."(1 Thessalonians 5:24) If we are doing God's will, he will always communicate with us. Abraham is an example of that. When God decided to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah the city where Lot and his family still resides, God felt the need to let him know, because God has propose to make him great. Its not heathy to live as a christian without hearing from God. We should make sure we hear from God everyday, by reading our bible and praying. Through the bible and prayer, God speaks to us."13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."(John 16:13) God's compassion never fail. despite the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah, God was willing to spare the city if there are 10 righteous people in it. However, there were only four righteous people in that city, which include Lot, his wife and his two daughters. As a child of God, God can avert a major disaster when we pray. Abraham pray that God should not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if there are 10 righteous people and God was determined to spare them, and i am sure if he had prayed God to spare the cities because of 2 people, God could have save the cities. Our prayer is effective as christians, if we encourage the habit of praying to God at all the time. "17 Pray without ceasing."(1 Thessalonians 5:17) May God help us to believe in him and also give us the right mind to hear him when he talks. |
channel 190: I saw a place u wrote that how do one live before God?The bible made us to understand that Isaac was a promise child whose descendants will be much as the multitude sand of sea. However, in this instance, Abraham was not really interested in God giving him another child at 100, since he already had Ishmael, but God told him No, He will bless Ishmael with 12 princes, and he will give him Isaac through Sarah his wife who will live before God. Living before God means, communing with God, reading your bible, praying all the time, doing God's will and representing God in your life. Its like saying, if you commit sin and do what you want, you are living for yourself and the devil. If you do the things that God commands you to do, it will be said that you are living before God |
God change Abram's name to Abraham Genesis 17 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about how Abram took Hagar Sarai's maid for wife, the angel of God appear to Hagar and the promise for Ishmael, Hagar's son. In today's lesson we will be learning about how God changed Abram and Sarai's name. Sarah is promised a child and the circumcision as a covenant between God and Abraham. Today's Study Again God appear to Abram when he was 99 years old and told him that he was the Almighty God and that Abram should walk before him and be perfect. Then God assured him of the covenant that he will definitely multiply him. When Abram heard this he fell to the ground and God continue to talk to him that he will be a father of many nations and because of that his name will be changed from Abram to Abraham.(Genesis 17:1-5) God continued to talk to Abram that he will make him very fruitful, nation and kings shall come out of him. He also assure him that he will establish his covenant and be his God and the God of his descendants. He promise to give Abraham and his descendants the land where they are strangers and Abraham and his descendants shall keep his covenant to circumcised every male child among him.(Genesis 17:6-10) The circumcision shall be a symbol of the covenant between God and Abraham. Every male child shall be circumcised on the eight day after the child is born and every male child either born in his house or bought with money from strangers or a male stranger. The circumcision shall be on their flesh as an everlasting covenant. Whoever is not circumcise and the person that broken God's covenant shall be cast out from his people. Then God told Abram that Sarai name has changed and she will be called Sarah. (Genesis 17:11-15) Sarah shall be blessed. She shall have her own son. She shall be mother of nations and kings. Then Abram bow to the ground and laughed and he said in his mind, shall a child be born unto him that is 100 years old and shall Sarah that is 90 yrs old also give birth? Then Abraham respond to God and said, how i wish Ishmael to be the child to live before God. Then God respond that Sarah your wife shall have a child and you shall call him Isaac, in him will his covenant be established. However, as for his prayer for Ishmael, God told him not to worry, he will make Ishmael to be fruitful, multiply him greatly, he will be a great nation and he will have 12 princes.(Genesis 17:16-20) Then God told Abraham that it in Isaac he will establish his covenant with, which Sarah shall born in a year time. After this, God left Abraham. Then Abraham took Ishmael and the men in his house to circumcise them. Abraham was 99 and Ishmael was 13 when they were circumcise with all men in his house that day. (Genesis 17:21-27) Reflection Its a good thing to talk to God and hear God talk. Its must be exciting to be assured by God that he will fulfill his promises and to prove it, he will make covenant with you. There is no greater assurance than that. God promise Abraham that he will multiply him; he will have a son. Although Abraham had Ishmael already and was satisfied with him, but God want to surely bless Abraham with a destiny child through Sarah. "17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;" (Genesis 22:17) God must have certified Sarah as a good wife who deserved a promise child. Christian wives, its a good thing to respect your husband so that God can look down from heaven and purposefully bless you. Honoring your husband brings so much blessing. Even at the age that look so difficult for medical scientist that Sarah could conceived, God did his miracle. Blessing comes in honoring God's people."2 Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile."(Psalm 32:2) When God promise, age, money, skills, intelligence, strength, ability and incapacitation will not be barriers. God will process his promise in such away that if any of these talents are needed, he will make provision for it. God is not limited to any thing, he can make a barren woman give birth at 90, a retched man build a mansion, a retched sinner get to heaven and unqualified be the best candidate. Just trust him completely and do as he said. Don't waste time with his covenant assignment. The bible made us to understand that the same day that God told Abraham about the circumcision he went straight to do it. " He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them." (1 Samuel 2:8 ) Another thing to note is that when God is purpose to change your life for good through his promises, apart from his covenant, he will change your name or give you a name. You will see, that the angel of God gave Hagar the name for Ishmael, then God change the name of Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah and named Isaac. When God is ready for you, he will change your name from Mr A to chief A, Prince A, King A, Lord A and so on. "3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel"(Isaiah 45: 3) May the almighty establish his covenant with us, change our name and turn our darkest world to light. |
Bidam: sorry to draw u back..but am actually interested in these tithe issue..i tithes because i believe it is scriptural(not necessarily an old testament thing).i want to know wat ur views are on tithingYes tithes is scriptural and should be honored, paid and respected. You will hardly find any man who is faithful with his tithes lacking. If any man want to prosper in life, he must pay tithes. Those who have prospered pay tithes. The bible recorded that Abraham paid tithes and Jacob promised God he will pay his tenth if God bring him back to his father's house Genesis 28:22 While some time tithes could work in form of charity, its not charity. The Tenth is important and should be paid if you want unlimited God visitation in your life. However, how tenth percent is used, is another situation or topic entirely. And as we continue, you will see in details how the Tithes are to be used. |
Abram took Hagar Sarai's maid for wife Genesis 16 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about how God made covenant with Abram, God shows Abram what his descendants will suffer and assured him that his descendants will inherit the lands. In todays lesson we will be learning about how Abram took Hagar Sarai's maid for wife, the angel of God appear to Hagar and the promise for Hagar's son. Today's Study When Sarai realized that she was barren, she called Abram to take her maid an Egyptian called Hagar for a wife and when Hagar was pregnant she disrespect Sarai; but sarai understands that she cause the disrespect by asking Abram to sleep with her maid; she said, God will judge between their two.(Genesis 16:1-5) But Abram told Sarai to do whatever she wants just as she would do when she was her maid. Then Sarai dealt with her harshly and Hagar ran away to the wilderness where an angel met Hagar asking her where she was going and she explained that she had ran away from sarai. And the Angel instruct her to return to Sarai and to submit herself to her. Then the angel told her descendant will be multiplied to become a great multitude. (Genesis 16:6-10) The Angel of the lord told her that she will have a male child and she should name him Ishmael, because the lord heard her suffering. The child will be wild man, he will be against everyone and everyone will be against him and he will live in the presence of his brothers. Then she was afraid and said God has seen her. She called the place Beerlahairoi between Kadesh and Bered and she gave birth to Ishmael when Abram was 86 years old. Genesis 16:11-16) Reflection Impatient can cause us pain, havoc and disaster. There is no doubt there are very few women on earth like Sarai who can be so passionate in love with their husbands and still allow their husbands to marry another woman because they are barren. I guess to some extent Sarai trusted her husband and knew what God deposited in her husband. The impatient of Sarai not only cause a problem for her, but could have broken their home. However, nothing happens without God's being in the plan."12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;"(Romans 12:12) Very few men will do like Abram who for the love he has for his wife would not allow his house to be broken, but command that Sarai should do what pleases her with her disrespectful maid, despite being pregnant for him. Christian husbands should learn to respect their wives and love them them more than they love their children. When you love your wife more, you will have a happy home and you will see the love reflected on your children. "25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;"(Ephesians 5:25) God is in every plan. He is never in place of confusion and he is the master of orderliness. When the angel met Hagar at the fountain in the wilderness, she instructed her to go back and submit herself to Sarai. Humility is needed for anybody carrying great thing. Children of God are to humble themselves before their masters so that God can fulfill and bring to pass what he has deposited in them. "10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." (James 4:10) May God help us to be patient and humble. |
God's covenant for Abram Genesis 15 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about how Abram paid his tithes to Melchizedek, Lot taken captive, and how Abram rescued Lot. In today's lesson we will be learning about how God made covenant with Abram, God shows Abram what his descendants will suffer and assured him that his descendants will inherit the land. Today's Study God appear to Abram in a dream and instructed him to be bold and that he will be his shield and exceeding great reward. When Abram heard this, he told God he has no child, but Eliezer a steward from Damascus. Then God assured him that he will have his own biological son; to assure him, God took him outside and told him to look to the sky; as uncountable the stars are so shall his children be. (Genesis 15:1-5) Abram believed God and it was countered unto him for righteousness. Then God told him he was the Lord that brought him out of the land or Ur of Chaldees to give him this land for his inheritance. Then Abram asked God to proof how he was going to inherit the land, then God ask him to bring she goat, ram, turtledove, young pigeon and young cow all of 3 years old. Then he divided them all in the center except the birds and laid them one after the other.(Genesis 15:6-10) When the fowls of the air came down to eat the remains of the sacrifice, Abram drove them away. Then at evening, Abram unconsciously slept off deeply and God told Abram the prophecy of what will happen to his descendants. He assured him that his descendants will be a stranger in a strange land and they shall be tortured for 400 years. However, the nations that they will serve and torture them he will judge and he will make them to come out with great wealth, but Abram shall die in peace and in good age.(Genesis 15:11-15) But after the fourth generation, they shall come out again, because the sin of the Amorites, then it became dark and the smoke went straight to the sky. That same night, God made a covenant with Abraham that he has given his descendants the land from the river of Egypt unto the great river Euphrates, the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaims, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites. (Genesis 15:16-21) Reflection Our God still speak to men by dreams. He still fills man with his spirit to see vision of things to come and still controls the atmosphere of man. When we are right with God, God will show or talk to us about his plan for the future. Abram took an opportunity to tell God about his worries when God came visiting him in his dream. When we are right with God, God will assure us to be confident and that he is with us, just like he assured Abram. I don't know what you are going through right now, but i want to tell you don't be afraid, God is your shield and great reward. Take this time to ask God concerning your worries and i am sure he will make a covenant with you today"28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions"(Joel 2:28) Its common for us to doubt God when God promise us or show us some vision concerning ourselves. First we would normally considered our current circumstances, just like Abram considered being 75 years might affect God's promise of a child, or some of us that God said, i will build you a house, find you a partner, make you great and we will start analyzing it: i have no job, no money, no uncle that can give me money, i don't even have money to eat or attract a good partner. I can assure you, God does better analysis than you, he has the best strategy to bring it to pass. Do like Abram, ask God to show you proof and be willing to make sacrifices of praise, thanksgiving, prayer and give to the poor. "19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"(Numbers 23:19) The bible made us to understand that Abram sent off the birds that came to eat the remains of his sacrifice.(Genesis 15:11) This can be synonymous to what happens in our own life. When God promise us, he expect us to wait. Sometimes when we are waiting patiently and have done all that is required to receive the blessing, we allow the devil to steal the moment, by giving to anger, fight, hatred and all forms of sin. As children of God, we should not be easily distracted by any form of sin. In another word, you are told to fast and pray for 3 days and when it got to the 2 and half day, you decided to do some unholy things, this can steal the moment for the promise. "7 Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me."(Micah 7:7) When you wait patiently, God will show up and give you the strategy needed to achieve what he promised. He will inform you before hand what to expect and what his plan will be, just as he told Abram, 400 years his descendants will be enslaved, but they will triumph with great wealth. May the Almighty God help us to triumph with great wealth today. "8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye."(Psalm 32:8 ) Is it land, car, child, house, healing, job, money, education, admission, breakthrough or anything God has promised you; don't loose hope, trust God and it will be counted to you as righteousness. My prayer for you is that God will make a covenant with you today that will be fulfilled in your life time. |

channel 190: amenSo shall it be. It appears there hasn't been questions lately and i am wondering if you really understand it? If you do, i will like to ask questions sometimes especially on areas that i think are very important to our christians lives today. In todays lesson, the Reflection Section focuses on consequence of our actions, paying good for evil, showing appreciation and accepting gift that edifies God. 1. Can you give me an instant, when one of these has happened to you? 2. What did you do and what would you have done differently? Just a paragraph for each question, not too lengthy. Thank you and God bless you NOTE: The questions are for everyone following this thread including Omosivie, . Thank you |
Abram paid tithes to Melchizedek Genesis 14 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about God's promise for Abram, and the separation of Abram and Lot. In today's lesson we will be learning about how Abram paid his tithes to Melchizedek, Lot taken captive, and how Abram rescued Lot. Today's Study After Lot departed from Abram, there was war between Bera king of Sodom and other kings. The war was so intense that they killed the people in the country of the Amalekites and Amorites that live in Hazezontamar, while the king of Sodom and Gomorrah escaped.(Genesis 14:1-10) Then the enemies overtook the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, take their treasure and all the people that remain in the land including Lot, Abram's nephew. One of those that escaped ran to tell Abram what had befall Lot. When Abram heard the news, he took 318 trained servants that were born in his house and pursued those that took Lot captive. When he got to a place called Dan, he separate himself into two team and they killed those that took Lot captive and they collected all the people taken captive, the goods and returned home. (Genesis 14:11-16) When the king of Sodom heard about Abram's victory, he went to meet him. Melchizedek the priest of the most high God and also was the King of Salem brought bread and wine for Abram then blessed him: "Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all"(Genesis 14:19,20) then the king of Sodom asked Abram to give him all the persons that Abram set free from the Chedorlaomer who took Lot captive, but Abram could take the goods and treasure.(Genesis 14:17-21) But Abram vow that he will not take anything so that the king of Sodom would not say he made him rich, except all that his servants that were with him would eat and ask that those that went with him Aner, Eshcor and Mamre to take their portion (Genesis 14:22-24) Reflection There is no doubt there is always consequence for every action we take, either good or bad, depending on the action we take. We as children of God should always make sure that we do not choose by sight. We should not make decision on what we see, hear, think or know only, but letting God's will be done. So that he can leads us out of trouble. Lot greed made him choose the plain land with water for his flocks and wide enough for his staff, without considering the danger associated to it. "10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10) Christians should always exemplify Christlike behavior. We should not pay back with hatred but with love. Abram did not say, that serve him right, he chose the best place and now he is facing the consequence. When we listen to God and do his will, we will not be surprise or worried by what our friends, neighbors and even our relatives do to us. We should see it as the master plan of God in our lives to make us get to where we are going. "28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."(Romans 8:28) When God gives us victory of all kinds, we should always show our appreciation. Abram paid his tithes to Melchizedek to show God's his appreciation for giving him victory over the people that took Lot captive. The act of paying tithes to the king of Salem reflects how we should pay God the King of Kings our heart, appreciation, thanksgiving and praise. As children of God we should pay our tithes always so that God can bless us and protect us the more. "9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine." (Proverbs 3:9,10) We should be careful about the gift we collect as a children of God. While some gifts could be used to deny God his glory, some are to edify God. When someone is giving us gift or help, we should accept when it glorifies God and not man. If a gift or help will enslave you, or make the giver to think his gift was the one that made you succeed, its not the best to collect it. "8 I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." (Isaiah 42:8 ) My prayer is that the Almighty will guide us to do his will and give us the spirit that shows appreciation, so that we can receive more of his blessing and victories. |
God's promise to Abram Genesis 13 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about Abram leaving his relatives, Abram's plan to save his life, how God plague Pharaoh because of Sarai. In todays lesson we will be learning about God's promise for Abram, and the separation of Abram and Lot. Today's Study Now God blessed Abraham with so much cattle, silver and gold. He then returned with Lot and all that with him from Egypt to South of Bethel where he had built an altar and tents. Lot also who went with Abraham now has flocks, herd and tents in Bethel. (Genesis 13:1-5) Abraham and Lot cattles and flocks was so much that the south land of Bethel was too small to contain them with their flocks and there were continuous fight all the time between Abram and Lot's staff. So Abram suggested that they should separate in order to avoid fight. Lot lifting up his eyes saw that the land of Jordan is plain with water and good for his cattle chose Jodan(Genesis 13:6-10) But Abraham stayed in Canaan while Lot live at plain land of Jordan very close to Sodom. However, the men of Sodom were wicked and sinned against God greatly. After Lot left Abram, God told Abram that he should look to the north, east, south and west; everything he saw, he will give it to him and his children. His children shall be so much like the sand of the earth and their number will be beyond census. Then God ask Abram to walk in the lenght of the land and Abram left Canaan for Hebron in the plain of Mamre and he built altar unto the lord(Genesis 13:11-18) Reflection God's blessings can not be hidden. When he blesses you, your friends will see, neighbor will know and outsiders will perceive that there is something good about you. That was the kind of blessing God gave to Abram. Lot his cousin experienced the blessing too. As children of God, we should understand that you do not have to do overtime to experience God's blessing; do your best and live the rest for God."22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it."(Proverbs 10:22) Abraham blessing and the extension to Lot was so much that the southern part of the land could not contain them and they knew it when they start seeing that their staff were always fighting. My prayer for you is that God will bless you until you start worrying on how you are going to manage the blessing. "24 And the Lord appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake."(Genesis 26:24) However, as children of God, we should always note and sense changes around us; especially when we are close to people of God. God will always extend his blessing to people that live or stay closer to men and women of God. It is natural that we exemplify the nature of man, by quarreling and fighting, but we should be willing to live peacefully with all men, especially people of God. Lot could have persuade Abram to come with him or chose a bigger place were they could still be together and then warn his staff to work with Abram's staff. Just like we always do,we are always willing to be independent without first checking from God. Lot left Abram for a better land without asking God will."14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:" (Hebrews 12:14) li May we never depart from the source of blessing. |
Abram Left his relatives Genesis 12 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about the unity of men and their attempt to build a top building that reaches heaven. In today's lesson we will be learning about Abram leaving his relatives, Abram plan to save his life, God plague Pharaoh because of Sarai. Today's Study Abram following the instruction of God moved out of from his family and relatives, but departed with is wife sarai and Lot his cousin to a land God will show him. Then God promised him that he will make him to be a great nation, he will be blessed, his name will be great and a blessing. Also anyone that curse him will be curse and whoever, bless him will be blessed. Abram was 75 when he left the land of Haram. (Genesis 12:1-5) Abram then passed through to Moreh where the Canaanites live. Then God appear to Abram and said his children shall be given the land. Then Abram build God altar there and went forward to the south side where he build a tent. Abram then went to Egypt because there was farming (Genesis 12:6-10) Then Abram noticing how beautiful Sarai was told Sarai, that if anyone asked about your status she should tell them she was Abram's sister, so that the Egyptians would not kill him. When they got to Egypt the Egyptians princes took Sarai from Abram straight to Pharaoh, because of that, Abram was treated well for Sarai's sake and they gave him lots of live stock animals. (Genesis 12:11-16) But God strike Pharaoh and his house with plagues because of Sarai.' Then Pharaoh knew that something was wrong and then call Abram asking him why he deceived him that Sarai was his sister . He gave Sarai back to Abram and sent Abram and all that was with him away (Genesis 12:16-20) Reflection There is so much blessing in following God blindly. When we put all that we have, including our own understanding to God's hand, we are bound to succeed. We should let God directs our lives and be willing to follow his directives for our lives. "5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."(Proverbs 3:5) Children of God we should be careful of lies. Our lie or action could make others to sin against God. We should understand that the world is watching us as the light of the world and if we substitute light for darkness then we are not reflecting God in our lives. 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.( Exodus 20:16) Its a good thing to be observant. As children of God, sometime we sin and might not even know. However, there are also signs that will prompt us to know that what we are doing is sin and when that happen, its better to stop and make restitution. When Pharaoh knew he was plague as a result of Sarai, he quickly let go. May God give us the heart to let go whatever its hindering our blessing from God."13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."(Proverbs 28:13) May the spirit of God guide us to rely on his word and protect us from unknown sin. |
channel 190: one thing is guaranteed, God lives above all menYes he does |
channel 190: I know, I wanted us to stress that. So people will see how it was then. And also the category am going to talk about nowYou see as we continue, you will understand better. For instant, Genesis 19, talk about the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Before God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, the bible made us to understand that God: three angels came representing God to Abraham on a sunny afternoon. And when Abraham saw the three angels, he ran to them and welcome them to his house. He made them food and God himself told Abraham what he will do to Sodom. The same thing happens to Lot, Abraham nephew. God is everywhere, but he gives his free will to people and would not interfere. In the Chapter 19, the bible made us to understand that God said he has heard the cry of the sin of the Sodomites and he would go and look at what they were doing. Also, if you go to the time of Jonah which is still far ahead, you will see that God always want to come like he knows nothing. Lets even look at our past lesson. We learned about God appearing to Adam and Eve after they had eaten the forbidden fruit, he never act like he knew what was going on. He call Adam to ask where he was and Adam told him everything. So he knew when they were eating the fruit and that is the same way, God still work today. You think Jesus does not know that Judas Iscariot will betray him? You would have ask why didn't he destroy him, before he betrayed him, but that is how God operates, creating man in our own image, means, creating people who can do what they want and decide how they want to live their lives. Also, when Cain killed his brother, God came asking Cain where was his brother, he replied God that he was not his brother's keeper. And God said, he heard the cry of Abel's blood crying from the ground. If God does not know all things, he would have gone to Adam or Eve to ask about Abel, but he knew who to ask. God sees and knows all things. But he is a faithful and a due process Judge, who will like to hear from you first before he pronounces his judgement. channel 190: na this Jehova witness people o. They said heaven is on earth. SmsThere are many doctrines in the world. However, since word can be interpreted to more than one thing, we can say, heaven on earth also mean: when children of God gather together, and do God's will, worshipping God and love each other with no hatred or malice, then we could say, thats heaven on earth. But the bible made us to understand that we will see God face to Face and we will be with Jesus where he has prepared rooms for us all. It does not appear to me Jesus lives on this earth, if he does, there is no need of him ascending to heaven, three days after he rose again. |
channel 190: 1. God came and saw...where was he when they started building? If we have been following since we started, the bible made us to understand that God comes down in form of God or Angels. In Adam's time in the garden God will come in the evening to talk to Adam until they ate the forbidden fruit. God has always been a God of free will. He saw them, but never pay attention to what they were doing, until he saw that, if he does not act fast, the people will build to heaven, so he came down to change their language. channel 190: 2. Where is all this people saying Heaven is on earth? The people are on earth. Heaven is not on earth. If it was on earth we would have find out by now. If the scientist could visit the moon, they would have probably visit heaven if they could. |
God disconfounds the language of men Genesis 11 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about how the children of Noah repopulate the earth by building cities. In todays lesson we will be learning about how God dis-confound the language of men, the unity of men and their attempt to build a top building that reaches heaven. Today's Study The descendants of Noah have now increased and they all speak in one language. While they were still exploring the earth they found a plain land called Shinar and they live there. Then they thought to build themselves a city and a tall building whose top could reach heaven then God came down and noticed what they were doing.(Genesis 11:1-5) However, God realized that the people are with one mind, one language and there will be nothing impossible for them to achieve, then God decided to make them speak different languages and when they could not understand each other, they left the building project and wandered to different part of the earth. The placed where God make them speak different languages was called Babel.(Genesis 11:6-10) Shem the son of Noah live 500 years and had Arphaxad and other children. Then Arphaxad had Salah, Salah to Eber, Eber to Peleg, Paleg to Reu and decant was Terah. Then Terah gave had Abram and Nahor.(Genesis 11:11-28) Abram married Sarai and Nahor married Milcah the daughter of Haran and the father of Milcah of Iscah. But Sarai had no son because she was barren. Then Terah Abram father took him and his brother with their wives from Ur to the land of Canaan. Then Terah died 205 years at Haran. (Genesis 11:29-23) Reflection The bible made us to understand that human beings can achieved impossibilities with one mind and determination. If God created us in his own image and he is God of possibilities then we can surmount mountains, if we believe and work together. There is power in unity."133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;" (Psalms 133:1-2)Unity brings achievement and help us to activate the possible not only on time, but perfectly. May God give us the spirit of oneness to do things in unison. In the text, we were made to understand that Sarai had no child, Just had we had in our previous lesson that God does not forget, he has the master plan. There is no doubt that Sarai might be wondering why and Abraham too will be wondering why him, like we all do, when we are pressed with some issues of life. My friend, wait, God has the master plan and in the due time he will address the pressing issue."11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."(Jeremiah 29:11) May the spirit of unity abides with us. |
channel 190: it is a nice thing to involve God in all what we do...as we work each day to own our own city, may he do to us what he did for the children of Noah. Amen. don't stop please. Keep it coming, we will soon get to were my questions will make here interesting.Amen. God will help us. |
Noah's Children build cities and re-populate the earth Genesis 10 Introduction- In our last lesson, we learned about God's covenant for Noah and all that were with him in the ark, how God populate the earth, the blessing and curse that Noah placed on his children. In today's lesson we will be learning on how the children of Noah build cities and repopulate the earth by building cities. Today's Study After the flood Noah Sons Shem, Ham and Japheth started populating the world with their children. There families were divided into lands and spoke different languages. Cush the son of Ham was a mighty man on earth and also a mighty hunter before the Lord(Genesis 10:1-10) The sons of Japheth, Shem and Ham expanded their cities. Then Asshur the son of Cush built Neneveh and many other cities and the sons of Ham also expanded building cities like Canaan. Then the world began to populate and the children of Noah populated the world by building cities and living in them.(Genesis 10:11-32) Reflection When God blesses man, it materialized. The blessing of God for Noah and his children started materializing because they took action. The bible made us to understand that they were building cities and expanding their territories. If God have blessed you, take action. Follow his guidance and hold unto the blessing."7 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;"(Genesis 22:17) My prayer for you is that God will bless today and give us the grace to start something with courage. |
channel 190: may his grace be in abundant. May we never see the unclothedness of our parent like the cursed Ham, we shall always be a beneficial of his blessing. Amen.Amen |
God populates the earth Genesis 9 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about how God remembered Noah and all that were in the ark, the drying of the flood, Noah sacrifice of burnt offering and God's promise for the earth. In today's lesson we will be learning about how God populate the earth, his covenant for Noah and all that were with him in the ark, The blessing and curse that Noah placed on his children. Today's Study God blessed Noah and his family and decreed that they should be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth. And God put the fear of Noah and his sons in all animals. All living things will be as meet for Noah and his family and the green herb also, but their blood they shall not eat. But who ever kill Noah and his family, be it man or animals will not go unpunished. (Genesis 9:1-5) Who ever kill man will be killed. Then God told Noah and his sons that he will establish his covenant before them and their descendants. He will also establish his covenant on the animals and no living things will be destroyed by flood anymore. Then God promise a sign that whenever they see the rainbow in the sky, it shall be a sign for remembrance of the covenant he made for them (Genesis 9:6-15) The children that went into the ark when the rain started were Shem, Japheth and Ham the father of Canaan. Through the 3 sons the world population multiplied and spread. Then Noah started farming and he planted wine in his vineyard and one day he drank wine and was found drunk naked by Ham.(Genesis 9:16-22) Then Ham the father of Canaan went to tell Shem and Japheth who went with blanket walking backward to cover Noah their father, and they did not see their father unclothedness. Then Noah woke up and found what his younger son did and he cursed Canaan that he will be servant of servant to his brothers. And Noah blessed Shem that he shall be master over Canaan and God shall enlarge Japheth and he shall live in the house that Shem built and Canaan shall be his servant. Then Noah died at age 950.(Genesis 9:23-29) Reflection The bible made us to understand that God bless Noah and his children. He also promised them and every other living things that he will not destroy the world with water again and any time there is rainbow in the cloud he will remember his covenanting promise with them. As children of God we should endeavor to keep to our promise. When we promise or make agreement, we should be sure its a promise we can keep and make sure we fulfill them as God fulfills his promise to us in that, whenever their is rainbow, the rain will stop. "37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil."(Matthew 5:37) It is not doubt that the almighty that created man in his image and other living things can fast track the process of populating the world. But he chose to take his time. Many at times, we expect things as soon as possible or that things should take emergency; but our God that knows all things does take his time. We should endeavor to cultivate the habit of waiting on the lord at all time, especially on his plan for our lives."31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."(Isaiah 40:31) Christian parents should make sure to pray for their children. When we pray for our children we invoke authority of progress and success on them. That include those children that are not our favorite, we should make sure we pray for God to change them. Also, children of God should make sure we do not frustrate our parents or make them angry to the extent that they will find pleasure to curse us."Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth."(Ephesians 6:1-3) May the spirit of God, teach us his words and help us to apply them to our lives. |

Omosivie,:You are welcome and i will. God bless you |
Omosivie,:No. In (Genesis 5 vs 9 )"9 And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:" is different from Cain. Also if you go back to Genesis (4: 25 and 26 )"25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. 26 And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord." So the Cainan is different from Cain. Cain was Adam's oldest child and Cainan was Enos child. Enos was a child of Seth a child born by Adam after Abel died, so he was Cain's younger brother. Noah is descendant of Seth |
channel 190: wait oooo, so after 7, 7, days of the Dove notifying them of Dry land, God forget or rather remembered them after 160days?No God did not forget them. They had food stuff from the beginning. But the dove was to go and check if the water has dried up. The first time it went there was no tree it could land on, but the second time, there was tree so it did not come back. You know the ark was on mountains of Ararat. However, The water took 150 days to dry up after the rain had finished falling for the 40 days and nights. It was after the 40 days and in between the 150 days that Noah sent out the dove twice. So Noah must have sent out the dove around 130 days or so. So when it was 150 days God ask Noah to come of the ark. |
God Remembered Noah Genesis 8 Introduction- In our last lesson we learned about the destruction of all the living things except for Noah and all that were in the ark he built. In today's lesson we are going to learn about how God remembered Noah and all that were in the ark, the drying of the flood, Noah sacrifice of burnt offering and God's promise for the earth. Today's Study After 40 days and nights, God remembered Noah and all that were with him and God made a mighty wind to push off the water from earth. Then the rain, the fountain and all places where water were coming out from were stopped. So all the water were emptied from earth after 150 days and the ark landed upon the mountain of Arafat on the 7th month the 17th day.(Genesis 8:1-5) When the rained stopped at the end of 40 days and nights, Noah open the window of the ark and sent out a raven and a dove birds, but the dove came back because it has no where to rest. Seven days after the dove returned, Noah sent the dove again and it came back in the evening with an olive leaf that symbolized that the water is drying up. (Genesis 8:6-11) Seven days after, Noah sent the dove again and it did not returned; then Noah knew that the water had dried up. It was on the 601 year, the 1st month and the 1st day when Noah removed the covering of the ark, that he saw the ground was dry. Then God spoke to Noah to go out from the ark with all that was in the ark with him, so that they may multiply and be fruitful. (Genesis 8:12-19) Noah then build an altar for God and took all the clean animals to offer sacrifice of burnt offering to the lord. Then God smell a sweet savor; and God promise not to curse the ground anymore for man sake, because the imagination of man is evil and he also promise not to destroy every living things anymore like he did. Then he said as long as the world remain, there shall be season for seeding, harvest, cold, heat, summer, winter, day and night. (Genesis 8:20-22) Reflection No matter what we are going through, God knows and he has the best plan for our lives. Sometime, we may think that God has forgotten us, but he does not, he has the master plan and when the time comes, he will perfect it. Noah might have thought like we all do today, that God has forgotten him. But God remembered him and sent the wind to push off the flood. If you are expecting anything from God, have hope, he will bring it to pass. "19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?(Numbers 23:19)May the Almighty send a wind of positive change into our current situation today. Amen If God has spoken to us and have not materialized, let us wait and continue to pray so that God can remember his promise for us. We might be worried, by trying to send out a dove to check if the water had dried up, but we can do it by praying continually as the bible ask us to do."6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."(Philippians 4:6) Children of God are advice to make sure they hear from God before making any decision, just as Noah waited until God asked him to come out of the ark. God's time is always the best. When God remembered Noah, he blessed also all that were with Noah by commanding that they should be fruitful and multiply. My prayer today is that, anyone reading this study and waiting for the fruit of the womb, will conceive and multiply as God told Noah, in Jesus Name. "14 Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle."(Deuteronomy 7:14) When we see God goodness, either by answered prayer, salvation from danger or any other form of success, we should endeavor to show our appreciation to God. Noah offered a burnt offering that symbolized his appreciation for God's kindness; and when God smelled it, he promised never to destroy the earth again with water and not to curse the ground because of man. As children of God, we should always offer our thanks giving, songs of praise and any symbol of gratitude towards God for his goodness on us. "23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God." (Psalms 50:23) May the almighty remember all of us today and may he help us to offer our sacrifice of thanksgiving and praises always in the mighty name of Jesus. AMEN |

Atheist:-D:For those who are yet to believe in God, they call it gamble. However, christians call it FAITH : Lets look at what Faith is: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.(Hebrews 11:1) One evening Jesus was walking on sea towards his disciples when they were in the boat at the middle of the storming sea and they thought he was a ghost. When Jesus move closer he told them not to be afraid that it was him. Then peter said if it was Jesus he should ask him to come walking on the sea and Jesus did. When he was walking on the sea, the storm began to ravage the more then peter was afraid, immediately he started sinking, but he shouted Lord save me. Immediately Jesus stretches out his hand and lift him up saying why did he doubt o ye of little faith. (Matthew 14:22-31) Lets look at what Faith is: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.(Hebrews 11) Don't you think the reason Abraham was called the father of faith was because he almost kill his son, using him for sacrifice to God. The kingdom of God is not bread and butter and it is for faith warriors not those that want to save their lives |
Atheist:-D:Yes you are right. Some have taken a risky road that could amount to death, but led them to life. Faith matters |
