I'd like to ask the gurus in the house @ Gazzuzz especially.
Are the 2 fans i.e the AC fan and engine cooling fan meant to blow in the same direction?
Or one blows on 1 direction while the other blows in the opposite direction when turned on |

DukeNija: Hello House please I need help with my car. Nissan Altima 09 struggles with cold starts. Scanned my car and the code p2004 came up. I really don’t understand this particular code. Please help @gazzuzz WHAT DOES P2004 MEAN? If you are like most people, you may not know what the intake manifold is, or what it means for it to be stuck open. What does the code P2004 mean? The intake manifold is the part of the engine that supplies the cylinder head with the mixture of fuel and air. Essentially, this is the part that controls how fuel gets pumped into the part of the engine that combusts fuel to produce power. This system is controlled by the powertrain control module, which means if the actuator is stuck open, it might be a problem with either the intake manifold or the powertrain control module. There are several ways the process of getting fuel into the cylinders can work. Most commonly, each cylinder has a separately controlled metal flap which limits the air/fuel mixture input. Sometimes, all the metal flaps are connected by a metal bar, which means all the cylinders are synchronized and receive the air/fuel mixture at the same time. Finally, sometimes it is achieved by a vacuum diaphram instead. If this is the case, it will be controlled by an electronic intake manifold solenoid. WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF P2004 If you suffer from a intake manifold runner control that is stuck open, there are a few symptoms you will probably notice. Chances are that at least one of your cylinders is not firing, which can be quite easy to recognize. The three symptoms this might cause are: Poor engine performance Poor fuel efficiency Sudden engine surges There are many things that can cause a cylinder not to fire, such as a faulty spark plug. If you realize one of your cylinders is not firing, you cannot assume it is due to the input valve being stuck open. |

Peppermintflav: That's what I was trying to tell him... Those automatic compressors are 50/50. With the type of technicians we have out there, he will end up changing the compressor over and over. An oem manual compressor for his car will last longer... But what do I know.. What does Gazzuzz think about this? |

DdenslordD: This is a common toyota issue with automatic compressor so either you change the compressor to manual or buy a new automatic compressor I'd rather buy a new automatic compressor than change to a manual one |

I guess that's where my concern came from Improve your MPG up to 2 percent by using the grade of oil recommended in your owner’s manual. |

GAZZUZZ: Air-conditioning.
In most cases technicians refill refrigerant blindly.
An overfill will cause excessive pressure on the high side which in turn will cause the system to shutdown to protect its self from further damage.
One of the reasons why it is noticeable in traffic is the static nature of air around the condenser.
Gasses expand when hot and there is a higher buildup when static and worse on a hot day.
Just for scientific purposes, reduce the amount of refrigerant in your system a bit or find a technician with a gauge that can read the high side values. (It should not exceed 200psi)
Okay thanks a lot Guru. |

ikdaddy01: Nothing is wrong with your compressor oh. When temp goes higher than normal the Ac will shut off nau. Listen to the guruZ. Check posts☝️ When I'm in traffic for a while the AC shuts off and blows hot air. Yesterday being Sunday with less traffic I drove the car from Ajah to Ikeja on reasonable speed. The AC didn't shut off because I was driving fast but when I slow down it tends to shut off . It wasn't like that before. I think I will take it for diagnosis |

ikdaddy01: Compressor kwa When I'm in traffic for a while with the AC on. The AC tends to go off and warm air starts blowing from the AC vents, but when there is no traffic and the AC is on and i am on high speed, the AC stays blowing cool air. I don't understand what the cause could be |

My Toyota Camry LE 2012 model AC turns on and cools but when I'm in traffic for long it cuts off and sometimes it makes my engine over heat. But when I'm driving without ac, even if I'm in traffic for 20 hours my engine doesn't overheat. I think it's my compressor.
Gurus what could be the cause of this ? |

AKALAMAGBO: Hi everyone,
Please, is it necessary to change oil filter every time there’s an oil change? My mechanic changed my oil few days ago and I asked why didn’t he change the oil filter too, he told me it’s not necessary for now, that it can be changed on the next service. Could that be true?
Thanks
PS: I own Es 350 2013 Model and the oil was the filter I guess came with it, because it’s a tokunbo car... It's imperative that you change your oil filter during every oil change. I also advise you change your mechanic |

kingreign: All cars with AC and cabin heater function (HVAC) has blend door Actuators. It's a set of flaps that is controlled by small motors that turns and closes or opens to enable warm and cold air mix together which is then blown into the cabin when the AC or Heater function is activated.
I don't know what a regular kazeem call it. But depending on your trim of car, you may have one or more blend door Actuators. Thanks a lot but I'd really like to know what a regular Kazeem calls it |

Hello everyone, I'm making enquiries about Car AC system.
There is this device that controls the blend of hot and cool Air that comes out the AC vents . It's called "Blend door actuator".
Please who know what it's called in Kazeem terms I mean what does the regular mechanic refer to it as?
Does a Toyota Camry LE 2012 have a blend door actuator? |

Does the 2012 Toyota Camry LE come with a single cell radiator or a double cell radiator? |

Grupo: Just found out now that the radiator is double cell. The one that was replaced was single cell, which was the "follow come."
Car is 2007 Toyota corolla.
I didn't change anything else.
I only switched from water to coolant as I didn't want to continue using water with the new radiator. Okay then double cell it is then |
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by obidevine(m): 7:00am On Mar 10, 2021 |
Grupo: I really don't know if it was double or single. I ordered the radiator and took to mechanic that changed it.
The mechanic showed me the points from where the old radiator was leaking.
Do you top off your radiator with water or coolant occasionally?
After the change, I have not had to top off the radiator again for more than a year. Because the coolant level has remained the same ever since. Nice one. Yes Gazzuz has also adviced that I changed my radiator to a double cell one but I read online that if you change your radiator from single to double call you would also need to change your water pump Please what year and make is your car and kindly find out of you changed to double cell? |
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by obidevine(m): 6:28am On Mar 10, 2021 |
Grupo: Witnessed this issue once.
Gazzuzz advised I should change my radiator. I did and the problem was solved.
Haven't experienced it again for more than a year after.
Turned out the radiator had small leaks that caused water to evaporate. Which also caused the water level in the radiator to go down occasionally.
I changed radiator and switched from water to coolant. Did you change to a double cell radiator? |

9icetoo: Check your fans if it happens only with the ac on. I doubt your radiator is the problem.
I suspect your ac fan is either malfunctioning intermittently or blowing in the wrong direction.
Your fans are meant to pull cold air from outside into your engine bay.
I've recently come across technicians installing a fans to blow out air from the engine out through the radiator. Is the fan meant to blow to the right or? |
