The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), during overnight operation on Thursday, rescued five victims in another collapsed building in Ojuelegba area of Surulere.

Recall that a three-storeyed building at Magodo Phase 1 and a two-storeyed building at No 7, Rufai Street, Ojuelegba collapsed about 12 days ago.

The Chief Executive Officer, LASEMA, Dr Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the new incident to newsmen on Friday in Lagos said the victims were rescued after the building was pulled down to the ground zero about 11 p.m.

Oke-Osanyintolu said the accident occurred at 9.15 p.m., adding that the rescue was in collaboration with the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA).

An Igbo ethnic based group, Igbo Ekunie Initiative, IEI, has protested that the federal government has refused to fix the runway of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, close to two months after closure.

The group in Awka, Anambra said it has reviewed the abrupt closure of the airport and the continuing delay or outright refusal of the federal government to commence work and found it worrisome.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has joined the conversation on Nigerians especially the northerners supporting an Igbo Presidency candidate in the 2023 election.

In my years on earth, I have come to learn that no one is perfect and in the same way, no group of people is perfect. While the Igbo people are far from perfection, they are being viewed in a very harsh light.

There are two sides of every coin but it seems that the foreigners are only interested in viewing us from the battered and broken parts of the coin. However, if you look closely you would see that the Igbo people exhibit the following.

• Industrious: More than anything, they are hardworking and are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that they make ends meet. They are a group of people who do not wait for things to be handed down to them, they work to earn their keep.

Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, sent a warning message to women against Bobrisky.

Two women have disgraced themselves after they fought publicly over a man in Lagos. A 22-year old lady, Titi Rashidat and 49-year old single mother, Blessing Nwora, have engaged themselves in public brawl over a 62-year old lover, identified as Sikiru Atanda.

It was gathered that the incident happened at Edogaje Street, Daleks area of Ejigbo, Lagos. According to a report by PM Express, the fight degenerated to the point of both women pouring their urine on each other before the Police team from Ejigbo Division led by CSP Olabisi Okuwobi arrived the scene and arrested the two suspects for affray.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said that if he was given the circumstance, he would still concede defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Jonathan who was the incumbent president during the 2015 presidential election said he has no regret for conceding to Buhari up to this moment.

The founder of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Bishop Wale Oke, has said Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo informed some Christian leaders that some cabals were behind the N90bn election fund scandal involving him.

Former Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Alani Akinrinade has advised his former boss, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to desist from public letter-writing, in a bid to make a point, which is his fundamental right.

Gen. Akinrinade, a hero of the civil war when Obasanjo was the Commander of the Third Marine Commando, said since his former boss has unfettered access to those in power, letter-writing may not be a good option.

Gen. Akinrinade who worked with Obasanjo during the Civil War also said whenever Obasanjo wrote his letters to the president, what came to his mind was how he handled similar matters when he was in the saddle.

A 75 years old man has been arrested by the Enugu State Police Command for allegedly raping an 11-year old girl.

The suspect was identified as Onoja Boniface, who hails from Ogbaike, Enugu-Ezike, in Igbo-Eze local government area of the state.

Boniface who was part of those paraded before newsmen by the state commissioner of police, Ahmad Abdulrahman, was said to have lured his victim who was reportedly sent on an errand by her grandmother to one of the staff rooms where he raped her.

A four-storey building under construction at One-day in Agbani road, Enugu South Local Government Area of Enugu State has collapsed on Wednesday.

This is coming barely three weeks after a three-storey building under construction had collapsed at Monarch Avenue in the same Enugu South Council Area of the state capital.
Newsmen gathered that building located at Precious Junction by One-day Road, had 10 flats and five of the apartments had already been occupied by tenants, a family of four and four individuals.

It was gathered that the occupants had noticed a crack on the building on Tuesday morning and four occupants were said to have left the house with the fear that the building might collapse any time, though they left some of their property’s behind.

Alani Akinrinade, former Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Staff, CDS, has revealed how he and another military officer ended the Biafra civil war that lasted for three years.

Akinrinade disclosed that a strategy he and a fellow General in the Army, Alabi Isama, retd, authored brought an end to the civil war.

Hisbah Board in Kano State has destroyed over 196,400 bottles of alcoholic content in its bid to rid the state of consumption of alcohol.

Speaking after flagging off the destruction exercise at Kalemawa in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area in Kano State, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje said Islam has strongly condemned the drinking of alcohol and all other intoxicants that can distort mental capability of a person.

“ln Islam, drinking of Alcohol is strongly forbidden being one of the backbones of committing sins either big or small and that has been stated out at several places in the Holy Qur’an.

“Our Islamic Scholars, religious and community leaders should join hands in the crusade against such social vices because the issue of taking alcohol is not only Islam that forbids it. To good Christians, consuming Alcohol is also prohibited,” he said.

It will be recalled that on February 25, 2019, The chairman of Capital Oil and Gas, Ifeanyi Ubah, won the Anambra South Senatorial ticket on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) polling 87,081 votes.
