Wife of murdered US army veteran Chuks Okebata who was killed by alleged assassins in Imo state has shared her own side of the story saying she didn't kill her husband.

This is coming after her sister in law shared heartbreaking videos of her threatening to get her husband jailed this morning that sparked an outrage and made many Nigerians think she has a hand in her husband's death.
Read her statement below:

My own side of the story
Amanda, I once came to you about my husband and his incessant abuse and cheating. Yes I am the wife of the man who was assassinated, and I am just distraught.

I do not even know where to start but it is only right I tell my own side of the story. I am innocent, God is my witness that I did not kill my husband or the evil that my husband’s family is portraying me to be, yes my sister in-law posted that video to make me look evil but the part she did not tell anybody was that I was calling the police to save me because he always beat me up and I was told to call the police whenever he started and that was exactly what I was doing, from the video you would see that I did not fight him or answered him.

Should I have allowed him to kill me?

We have been married for 13 years since I was 19, it has been beating upon beating, I have gone through surgeries because of beating he gave me. How can I kill my husband, we live together, till the day he left for Nigeria, I packed his things , how could I kill him. Who do I know to order a hit on the father of my children?

I have no interest in his properties as suggested after all we built every thing together. God knows I am innocent. I know who I am married to, he is a show off and he went to Nigeria and was going to club spraying dollars and showing off, revealing his locations . They want to pin my husband’s death on me, my husband was not assassinated.

He was kidnapped, because he is a military man he is always with a gun and when he shot to death one of the kidnappers,they shot him. Why is my family leaving out information about what happened and pinning it on me?

I never threatened him to kill him, I am a working woman with a paying job and have no reason to kill him because of properties . All I just want is peace to mourn and raise my children. You can confirm my story from those people in my home town.

My husband was careless in a country with high rate of crime and was kidnapped, if he had not shot one of the robbers all we would have been talking about is paying ransom not death. Why would I kill the father of my kids, why would I choose his death over a divorce if things were that bad.

I have two boys, who will help me raise them? I am completely innocent of all the allegations. I have endured all this years through his beating and cheating and I did not leave or kill him, why would I do it now? All I ask is that I am left to mourn in peace and the killers found and prosecuted.

Ghen ghen! Nollywood actors are coming for each other's throat over veteran actor Chinwetalu Agu and his vulgar slangs.

First it was Gideon Okeke that slammed him for his vulgar slangs in movies. Then actress Chioma rebuked Gideon for being so disrespectful.

Guess who just joined the drama - comedian Tony One Week. He too has been silently pissed over Chinwetalu's vulgar slangs and has slammed Chioma for rebuking Gideon.

According to Tony, Chinwetalu's slangs are now almost demonic and anyone who supports Chiwetalu Agu's persistent use of vulgar language has little or no moral foundation.

NO. IT'S NOT OK AT ALL.
Like Chief Zebrudaya will say "Fafafaaaaa.... Fowl". I read that Gideon condemned Chiwetalu Agu's vulgarity in movies and actress Chioma rebuked Gideon. And I ask: For what?

The young man simply stated the very obvious. Famous actor Chiwetalu Agu's lines can be very irritating. Truth be told. D guy can talk nonsense.

And overtime, his nonsense has moved from being funny to annoyingly irresponsible. Its high time someone told him that he is no longer funny.
How can u say a vulgar word or sentence and repeat it from the begining to the end of the movie every time u appear? A movie ideally should have a positive message even as it entertains.

What is educative about vulgar statements? Is the intention to corrupt or destroy?. I support Gideon 100%. Ogwu should be more responsible abeg. Does he have children? D guy is is a good actor but in recent times too unnecessarily vulgar bro.

Can I forget "Igwe ejee nga"?. That's vintage Ogwu in Taboo speaking clean but very apt and entertaining. What he says these days are almost demonic.

The worst is d repetition. Must every uselessly vulgar line be repeated like three four times in a scene and then in all d scenes he appears in a movie. Haba. I blame producers for d repetition.

Most of our movies these days are scriptless. No script. No story. Thats why every actor says what he likes in d name of comedy. And to think they believe they are making us happy when they actually make us angry most times?

Honestly, anyone who supports Chiwetalu Agu's persistent use of vulgar language has little or no moral foundation. Who is talking about censorship here? Are movies censored in Nigeria? How do they regulate who buys the DVDs meant for adults when children sell them?
Common... everybody watches everything jare. Nwoke na akoghelizi akogheli and it ain't funny any more than its destructive.

Our movie producers must upgrade to using proper solid stories to sell movies and not vulgar repetitive sentences. Up Gideon. Down Chioma.
I respect Chioma's person and I am shocked that a mother like her will condemn Gideon for condemning the unguarded immorality being unleashed on society by Chiwetalu Agu. #Moralityiskey

Nigerian Twitter user @Chxta shared his not so pleasant experience with an Uber driver online. He was forced to cancel a trip after the Uber driver delayed.

Cheta ended up paying N500 for canceling and got this ridiculous text message from the Uber Nigeria driver.

However, Uber Nigeria later reached out to Cheta, offered him an apology and promised to take an appropriate action.

From the shock of a 3 time presense of lumps in the breast to surgeries fighting for my life and the pain of a disolution of a bond I hoped to keep with a life time partner and the re-emergence of singleness. From the tension of awaiting a judges pronouncement to the horror of walking into prison over a cross accidentally aquired and carried for so long.
Tell me how could I have survived the year without you guys? I think about it every day and everyday my love for God and good hearted men rise but today the 13th of January it hits it's peak and my joy officially knows no bounds as God has kept me alive despite all and led me to witness yet another birthday with the people I love.
So do please as you read this, see how happy I feel to have you and to be here with you. To have God and to be assured that his blessings are here to stay. To say THANK YOU to all who have in little and big ways given a helping hand to build the wiser, stronger, .........

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has just apologized to her colleague Mercy Johnson for calling her daughter Purity a 'witch' after Mercy resumed acting 4 months after giving birth to her first child, Purity, in US back in 2013.

You recall that back in 2013, after Mercy delivered her baby Purity in US, Tonto had blasted Mercy who had come back to Nigeria 4 months later to continue with her acting career.

Tonto Dikeh (who at that time had no chill) called Mercy all sort of names, claiming Mercy's husband pushed her immediately into acting because they were broke.

At first the actress cum singer, Tonto tweeted ‘Nollywood Bridez marry horribly** #SHEBA#…Wen n if I give birth,God plz provide mii wit a husband dat can provide 4uz,Not 1 dat wld send mii bck to actin 2monthz after I born 2Huzzle’

Many who believed the tweet was referring to Mercy Johnson engaged Tonto in a twitter war - and then Tonto dropped the bigger shell as she tweeted again,

‘Every1 who comes to ma tl to Rant Abt ur FOOL MJ is a bigger baztard Dan SHE is coz I never cald no Bitch’z Name**F*ck U**

Like that wasn’t hurtful enough, she took a very direct shot at Mercy Johnson:

"Bitch Lozt her Name,U gonno Uze mii az A come backNaaahhhhh go Nurze Ur Witch Bitch** #StayBlessed"

Mercy in a reply later on during an interview when asked how she felt when she heard that Tonto talked mean about her, said:

'It was a friend who called to tell me a colleague in Nollywood is questioning my decision to go back to go back to acting soon. I only asked her a question, I said: 'Did the actress mention my name?' she said no. But my fans are insinuating that she was talking about me, so they fired back at her with insult and all.

I am a moving train by the special grace of God in heaven. I will continue to do good for myself and my fans who have stood by me all these years. I have no beef with nobody. I am a cool person and i hate and fear troubles. I always pray for those that wish for my downfall.''

Many times I have tried to shift attention away from domestic violence. But there are reasons why I could not do that. First, it is one of the aims and objectives listed on DPA Constitution. Second, everyday there is a new domestic violence case begging for my attention. That is; everyday some wife-beater beats his woman, and even kills her like in this case.

We just can't stop and we need to press harder against domestic violence. A member just reminded me of another deadly domestic violence case that nearly escaped my attention. Hair stylist Kemi was called barren by people she says are her enemies and it seemed all hope was lost when she was admitted to the hospital for two months.

Today, despite being 40 years old, Kemi has given birth to a bouncing baby and is right now celebrating her delivery with family and friends.
