Reno Omokri has revealed the photo of a man, who not only named his goat Jonathan but also paraded the goat on the streets with the name 'Jonathan' boldly hung on its neck, during the regime of former President, Goodluck Jonathan.


However, the man in the photo above whose identity was undisclosed was never arrested, because Jonathan was said to be a ‘democrat’.Below is what he said....


"This man was never arrested because @GEJonathan is a democrat. The powers that be need to have democratic tolerance!"

IGP assures members of the public, the determination of the Nigeria Police to fight crime to the logical conclusion

SUSPECTS
(i) Haruna Adamu ‘M’ 25 yrs Gang Leader

EXHIBITS RECOVERED

(i) Two Hundred and fifty Thousand naira (N250,000) buried in the ground in a bush at one of the suspects village
(ii) A Gione phone (used for negotiation)

A notorious kidnap for ransom gang that has been linked to kidnapping and violent crimes along Kaduna-Abuja and its environs has been arrested after coordinated and painstaking investigation by the Intelligence Response Team(IRT) of the IGP’s monitoring unit.

These dare devil gangsters were responsible for the kidnap of Hon Sani Bello, a current member the House of Representatives, on 2nd August 2016 in his farm along Kaduna –Abuja road. Also, the Kidnap of other persons were traced to them.

The suspects were trailed and rounded up at Ungwan Kawu village in Dan Dumi L.G.A in Katsina State.
During interrogation, the suspects voluntarily confessed to the commission of the offence and also admitted to the various roles individually and collectively played in their criminal enterprise.
One of the suspects, Shaibu Adamu led operatives to a location in the nearby village (Kawu village) where he buried part of the ransom money. The sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira only (N250,000.00) in a polythene bag was recovered and marked as exhibit.
The arrested suspects are assisting the Police to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang. The suspects will soon be arraigned in court for justice to take its course.
The Ag Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim k. Idris wishes to reassure Nigerians that the Police will not relent its commitment and determination to ensure that criminals and their collaborators have their day in court to face the wrath of the law.
However, members of the public must see law enforcement as a collective responsibility of all sundry and avail the Police credible information and assistance.

An inspiring story of Bisi, a primary 5 school dropout who ekes a living for himself and his poor mother by making fans from soap case, aluminium sheet, wood, viju milk containers, plastic pipe, paper and other materials he pics around. Really interesting. Read story as shared by a Good Samaritan who encountered him in Ekiti state…


 While in Otun-Ekiti a month ago, I met Bisi a young scientist, innovator and inventor. Bisi is from a poor family in Aiyegbaju-Ekiti, his mother operates a grounding machine and sells goods harvested from her farm. His father is a mechanic, he repairs motor cycles (Okada).


Where I sat at the ceremony I went for, I saw Bisi trying to call attention of people he believed could give him money by using his hand made fans to genarate cool breeze for them.


What drew my attention to him was the material he used to make the fans. The fans were made from Soap Case, Aluminum sheet, Wood, VijuMilk Containers, Plastic Pipe, Paper, Wire and other materials he picked around and assembled. The fans are operated with small tiger batteries and are perfectly working.


Later that day I spoke with Bisi mother who told us that Bisi is out of school. He stopped going to school in primary five and walk around the town picking materials for his hand inventions and take them to ceremonies to raise money for his poor mother. This is evidence in the fact that Bisi trekked from Aiyegbaju-Ekiti to Otun-Ekiti where myself and Ibukun met him.


Bisi is no doubt a child with so much potential and can be a great scientist and inventor in nearest future if given opportunity to go back to school.

TROOPS ARRESTS YOUTHS VANDALIZING NATIONAL ASSETS  IN BORNO STATE

Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on patrol at the outskirts of Maiduguri metropolis, Borno State at about 1.20am today, arrested 4 suspected vandals of critical national assets in the area.

The patrol team, intercepted Aliyu Jubril, 24 years old man, who is also a member of National Youth Service Corps, Ismail Baba, 22 years old and a student of Ramat Polytechnic, Mohammed Suleiman, aged 25, a driver and Mohammed Bukar aged 15, and assistant to the driver, at Silo along Maiduguri-Damboa road while attempting to cart away heavy armoured cable belonging to Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) that they vandalized.

They lifted and loaded the  heavy cables in a truck using a crane with registration number 09B-15BO before their arrest.

One of the suspects came with a Honda Accord car (2001 model) with registration number GA 544-ABC in a bid to escort to an undisclosed location. The suspects are being interrogated and would soon be handed over to the appropriate security agency.

Yesterday the 13th day of the month of August was surprising to the entire people of Okehi LGA, when the Commissioner for water resources Barister Ozigi Abdulsalam Deedat together with the Chief Administrator of Okehi LGA, Hon Abdulraheem Ohiare led some youths to the cemetery at Ihima for proper sanitation.

These two energetic leaders worked tirelessly with the youths for the progress of Okehi LGA and Kogi state at large.

In response, the youths commended the Commissioner and the Chief Administrator for their quick intervention.

One of the youths also said in the history of Okehi LGA no any of such has ever happen.

In response the Administrator advised the youths to be peaceful and law abiding as more dividends of democracy awaits the people.He also assured the youths that proper maintenance will be carried out in due time at the cemetery.

The Hon commissioner admonished the youths to be more commited in the administration of Alh Yahaya Bello and also took his time to advice the youths to be law abiding as peace remain the only option for unity and development.

UNESCO Director General, Ms Irina Bokova met with H. E. President Muhammadu Buhari; Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed; Minister of Water Resources; Vice Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof Abdalla Adamu; among others. A middle-aged man was found dead in a lodging in Salgaa area, Nakuru County, after consuming second generation alcohol.

The man identified only as Kibet was said to have taken excess alcohol on Tuesday night and spent Wednesday asleep.

Police said he died in his sleep after vomiting.

According to witnesses, the man was a known drunkard who had been warned countless times by his parents.

His mother, who owns moonlight lodges and bar in Salgaa centre, lost consciousness after learning of Kibet’s death.

BOSSO KILLINGS: CAS VISITS TROOPS, GOVERNOR OF NIGER STATE AND EMIR OF MINNA

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar yesterday visited men of the Nigerian Air Force Quick Response Force in Minna. The visit came on the heel of last Thursday killing of 2 NAF personnel deployed on Internal Security Operation in the State, codenamed “OPERATION MESA”. The slain airmen, while on cordon and search operation around Kopa, Dagma and Gagwa villages in Bosso Local Government Area were killed alongside 9 Army personnel by armed bandits.

The purpose of the visit was to enable the CAS commiserate with the families of the slain airmen, hold durbar with troops, and inspect facilities on NAF Base, Minna. Air Mshl Abubakar also used the opportunity to visit the Governor of Niger State, His Excellency, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, as well as paid homage to the Emir of Minna, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Umar Faruq Bahago CON. The CAS used the occasion to appeal to both the political and traditional leadership to call on the people to support Security Agencies in the State in carrying out their duties, noting that security is everybody’s business.

Meanwhile, the Niger State Governor has expressed regrets over the unfortunate incident. The Governor called on everybody in the State to remain calm even as he said that his government is investigating the case. While appreciating the efforts of the Security Agencies in the State towards maintaining law and order, he promised to continue to work with them to make Niger State, and the Country at large, safer.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday received a delegation from Friesland Campina Netherlands, led by Global CEO Roelof Joosten, at the State House, Abuja.
