PoliticsSee What A Policeman Did To His Wife In Rivers State(photos) by obiremy(op):
A police officer has allegedly battered his live-in-lover and mother of his child in the most bizarre way.

According to a Trezzy Blog reader who sent in the photos/messags,the police officer, Sgt. Seyi Mathew Osuntokun, who is attached to the Rivers state police command treats the 29-year-old lady in a way that is unexpected and according to report, he thinks the law cannot catch up with him.

Read what a Trezzy Blog reader sent below:

”Today at my office I met a woman in very grievous condition with a baby of about 11months and seriously ill with hernia strapped to her back. This young lady is about 29yrs old. She was cohabiting with one Sgt. Seyi Mathew Osuntokun with the Nigeria Police Force Number 212822 currently serving with the Anti-robbery squad, Rivers state.

”SGT Osuntokun believes he has all power and he can never be brought to book for the grievous damage he has done to a girl that bore him a son he has refused to take responsibility. Upon getting home from her shop on Saturday, 21st November, 2015, he handcuffed her to the burglary in their apartment, fired two shots from his personal pump action gun (attached are pictures of the cartridges), with the baby still strapped to her back, he flogged and cut her with a cutlass. She was handcuffed throughout the night till around 8am when she was able to escape with the handcuff still attached to the fan he later handcuffed her to when he wanted her to feed the child while he went out to eat.

"Sgt Osuntokun is a disgrace to the Nigerian police force which is a reputable organization and whose image has been seriously battered by blood sucking policemen like him. He has further threatened to kill her and the baby with her. The woman reported to Isiokpo police station, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State, yet the beast is still roaming about freely without any action being taken. If nothing is being done to police officers like him that put the laws in their hands then I believe there is no hope for common masses like us.”

PoliticsPhotos:Lai Mohammed Meets Heads Of NTA, NOA, FRCN, Slams Them Over Inefficiency by obiremy(op):
Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed yesterday Nov 19,2025 met with various heads of parastatals in the Ministry of Information. While addressing them at the meeting,Lai Mohammed slammed them  over what he described lack of efficiency in the discharge of their duties.According to him, politicizing of issues by the government agencies in the ministry is very unprofessional in the discharge of their duties.

Read what he said below...

"Let me start with the Federal Government-owned media organizations, the NTA, FRCN and NAN. Why have you all chosen to play second fiddle in the country’s media landscape? I ask because the NTA and FRCN of yesterday is not the same as what we have today. Whereas most broadcast journalists of note in our country today passed through the NTA and the FRCN, there is no denying the fact that the private radio and TV stations are doing much better, at least going by the fact that most Nigerians prefer them to the public broadcasters. Indeed, most Nigerians find the private broadcasters more credible. The reason for this is not farfetched. First, the public broadcasters have thrown professionalism to the wind while also showing total disregard for editorial independence. They have mortgaged their credibility on the altar of political correctness. Yet, these Federal Government-owned media establishments are endowed with highly-trained and well-qualified personnel, better infrastructure and a wide reach. It is interesting to note that these government-owned media organizations complain of financial woes, forgetting that there is a link between credibility and profitability. Advertisers will surely flock to more credible media organizations, and of course it is also true that content drives advertisement. The same law of diminishing returns also apply to NAN, which was once the leading national news agency in the whole of Africa, boasting of the best professionals in the news business. Today, the agency is punching far below its weight, despite its presence in all the states of the Federation. We intend to provide leadership for the Federal Government-owned media organizations in a manner that will make them to become the first source of information, so that they can more effectively function as a vehicle for the change mantra of the Buhari Administration, and also regain their lost glory. The combined reach of the NTA, FRCN and NAN, if effectively utilized, will facilitate the success of the change campaign. But they must first enhance their own credibility, because no credibility-deficient news organization can successfully propagate the message of change. At this juncture, ladies and gentlemen, let me assure Nigerians that under this Administration, no Federal Government-owned media organization will deny the opposition the opportunity to air their views. It is true that while we were in opposition, we were treated as outcasts by these public broadcasters. They denied us the use of their platforms, they rejected our adverts and even made themselves available for the most abhorrent hate campaign ever in the history of electioneering campaign in our country. But in an era of change, which is our mantra, that cannot and will not continue. Opposition members are Nigerians, just like members of the ruling party. Even the ruling party will benefit when the opposition is allowed to air their views freely, because you learn more from people who disagree with you. Therefore, let the ruling party and the opposition air their ideas and let the people, who wield the ultimate power, decide at the end of the day"

PoliticsPresident Buhari Launches CBN Anchor Borrowers by obiremy(op): 5:14pm On Nov 19, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) initiated Anchor Borrowers’ Programme (ABP), even as he expressed high hopes that the scheme would lift thousands of small farmers out of poverty and generate millions of jobs for unemployed Nigerians.

Speaking during the launch of the ABP and flag-off of the 2015 dry season farming season in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, President Buhari frowned at the huge sums spent by Nigeria on the importation of food items that could be produced locally, stressing that the N1 trillion importation bill was not sustainable.

While recalling the pride of place that agriculture enjoyed in the country’s economy, the President said the current reality in the global oil market left Nigeria with no option than to diversify into other productive sectors.

The president, who also emphasized the implication of falling oil prices to Nigeria’s foreign reserve, said the situation underscored the need for Nigeria and Nigerians to diversify the productive and revenue base of the country’s economy and conserve her foreign reserve by curbing the appetite for imported goods that can easily be produced locally.

In his remarks, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, commended the CBN initiative and promised to improve on the successes recorded by his predecessor in office, by bringing on board innovations and attracting the nation’s youth to get involved in the agricultural sector.

Also speaking, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele said the Bank was concerned about the huge foreign exchange spent by Nigeria importing food items that could be produced locally.

According to him, the allocation of foreign exchange to the importation of items such as rice, wheat, milk and fish, among others, had contributed greatly to the depletion of the nation's foreign reserves, especially in the face of low oil revenue resulting from falling oil prices.

Mr. Emefiele disclosed that the rising unemployment and escalating food imports prompted the Bank, under his leadership, to shift from concentrating only on price, monetary, and financial system stability to act as a financial catalyst in specific sectors of the economy particularly agriculture, in an effort to create jobs on a mass scale, improve local food production, and conserve scarce foreign reserves

He said the ABP aims at creating economic linkages between over 600,000 smallholder farmers and reputable large-scale processors with a view to increasing agricultural output and significantly improving capacity utilization of integrated mills.

This, he noted, would close the gap between the levels of local rice production and domestic consumption, as well as complement the Growth Enhancement Support (GES) Scheme of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture by graduating GES farmers from subsistence farming to commercial production Accordingly, he said the CBN had set aside N40 billion from the N 220 billion Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund for farmers at a single-digit interest rate of 9 per cent.

Dignitaries present at the event included State Governors from rice-producing states, stakeholders in the rice value chain, Executives of the CBN and Deposit Money Banks as well as thousands of enthusiasts

PoliticsMTN Fined N190m In Uganda – See Why by obiremy(op): 12:52pm On Nov 18, 2015
Of recent, telecommunications company MTN has been facing hard time. The company has been fined 190m in Uganda

On November 6, a commercial court in Uganda, presided over by Henry Peter Adonyo, slammed a fine of sh2.3bn (N190 Million) on the multinational telecommunications company- payable to EzeeMoney as damages for sabotaging EzeeMoney mobile money business.

EzeeMoney had initially filed the suit in 2013 claiming that MTN breached the contract they had with them for fear of competition thereby sabotaging their mobile money business and flouting sections 53 (1) and 56 of Uganda’s Communications Act.

The section deters service providers from involving in endeavors that limit or restrict competition in the communications business.

The company needed a local telephone service aggregator to ease its interface with all licensed telecom service providers.

According to the plaintiff, they had signed a contract with MTN Uganda to provide for them the telephone and data services it needed to perform its businesses.

An excerpt from the judgement reads: “However, MTN for fear of competition to its mobile money product made a U-turn and started sabotaging EzeeMoney business. It started by denying EzeeMoney the ability to connect an aggregator called YO! Uganda Limited (YUL) to its network.

“It (MTN) denied the use of EzeeMoney short code on its network, cut off all of EzeeMoney’s call centre lines, withdrew over 300 pre-paid data simcards that were being used in EzeeMoney’s GSM enabled POS machines.”

According to the reports, MTN also bullied all of EzeeMoney mobile money agents into appending signatures to exclusive agreements that stops them from offering any service to its competitors and handling or selling products related to other services.

MTN in an attempt to defend their stand told the court during the hearing that EzeeMoney being a non-licensed communications service provider could not have suffered the breaches they are accusing MTN of within the meanings of sections 53 (1) and 56 of the communications Act. MTN asked court to dismiss the suit with costs in its favour.

The judge, Adonyo declared that the exclusivity agreement between MTN and its agents infringe section 53 (1) (b) of the Communications Act and therefore null and void.

He said that the Act prohibits parties from entering into agreements which unfairly prevent, restrict or distort competition, adding that the communications regulation of 2005 also prohibits anti-competitive agreements and exclusive dealings.

“The agreement itself confirms that the defendant (MTN) acted outside the law, for it appears it used such coercive methods to deny fair competition to other parties involved in the business,” he said.

The judge waived off MTN’s defense stating that anybody can be affected by the prohibited behavior of anti-competition under the law hence the defendant’s argument is invalid.

He said: “Its (MTN’s) refusal to allow EzeeMoney use its platform is an act which is prohibited within the meaning of section 53 of the communications Act.”

Owing to this, he ordered MTN to pay sh800 million and sh1.5 billion with a six per cent interest at court rate as general and punitive damages for loss of business arising from its anti-competition actions to EzeeMoney.

He also said his judgement against MTN should serve as a warning to other companies that might tow the sabotage line.

“This is to act as a deterrent to the defendant and other entities with similar anti-competition conducts to stand warned that the court will not tolerate illegal conduct and high handedness in the conduct of business,” he said.

Adonyo gave a permanent injunction against MTN prohibiting it from acting unlawfully against EzeeMoney.

PoliticsBiafran Airlift Transporting Food To Biafrans During Civil War In 1962-70(Photo) by obiremy(op):
Biafran Airlift was an international humanitarian relief effort that transported food and medicine to Biafra during the 1967-70 secession war from Nigeria (Nigerian Civil War).

It was the largest civilian airlift, and the largest non-combatant airlift of any kind ever carried out. The airlift was largely a series of joint efforts by Protestant and Catholic church groups, and other non-governmental organizations (NGO)s, operating civilian and military aircraft with volunteer (mostly) civilian crews and support personnel. Several national governments also supported the effort, mostly behind the scenes.
There have also been accusations that the airlift supplied arms to Biafra, but these remain unsubstantiated.

CelebritiesDid Singer Flavour Sign A New Endorsement Deal With Oil Company Conoil?(photo) by obiremy(op): 12:58pm On Nov 16, 2015
One of Nigeria’s favourite high-life singers, Flavour Nabania might have just hinted that he has cinched yet another lucrative endorsement.

Flavour (real name Chinedu Okoli) is not just a popular singer who makes ladies go wild, he is also an ambassador for Nigerian telecommunications giant Glo Mobile.

In his latest Instagram photo, Flavour is dressed in an orange jumpsuit, complete with safety gloves and a hard hat that has the name of Nigerian oil company Conoil emblazoned on it. From the picture it seems he just completed a photo shoot for Conoil (which is also owned by the owner of Glo Mobile, Mike Adenuga) and his fans wasted no time in sending congratulations on his new endorsement.

Though in the caption he gave no explanation, it won’t be too far fetched to believe that he is now an ambassador and will be unveiled soon. Or why else would a person be dressed head to toe in Conoil gear?

Flavour's babymama Anna Banner recently returned to the country after giving birth to their daughter Sophia. Their child’s dedication took place on Sunday and from photos released, it’s unclear if Flavour attended the ceremony. So far, no photo sightings have been made with Flavour, Anna or their baby.
