Former Senate President, David Mark said he is sick and tired of people mocking him that he hasn’t done anything for his people during his 16 year sojourn at the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

Senator Mark said this while addressing members of his party at his Otukpo residence recently.He challenged anyone to come forward and he’ll prove that he has done enough for his people within the past 16 yrs and should be given some credits.

“I am so tired of people going about saying David Mark hasn’t done anything in the past Sixteen years, If anybody is saying David Mark has not done anything for Idoma people, let such person challenge me in clear terms and I shall prove that in the last Eight (8.) Years, the Idoma People have benefited from my leadership more than any other tribe in the whole of Nigeria.

The former Military Administrator of Niger state also gave insight into his continuous silence during senate sittings. 

“When the PDP lost the general election in March, I decided that I will maintain and remain silent until the end of the year. That is why I have not been talking. Of course for those of you who know me, you know I can talk, but not all unnecessary talks.” He explained.

On the forthcoming rerun in the Zone, Mark said he was waiting on God to direct him if he should re-contest or pull out but chairman of the party in the state insisted that his people still want him to ‘continue the job he has started.”

He said, “I have been praying to God to direct me whether I am to re-contest this election come February 2016 or not. When I relayed this issue to the Party Chairman as one of the elders in this party, he told me in clear terms that he is not going to table this matter for discussion and that I have no other option than to rerun for the Senate. He told me I must do this for the people.”

Oguta LGA.

The Onjeh Campaign Organization (OCO) wishes to draw the attention of the good people of Benue South in particular and Nigerians in general to the very unprofessional but consistent bias reportage of political events in Benue South by Joy FM.

Before the advent of Joy FM, the people of Benue South had diverse options of electronic media (radio and television), amongst which were Radio Benue, Makurdi and Idekpa, ETV Channel 50, Enugu, Coal FM, Enugu, etc. However, in the unbridled quest of Senator David Mark to turn Benue South into a fiefdom (hegemony), he established a radio station (Joy FM) which in the first place is supposed to be a community radio as it was built from the proceeds of constituency allowance accruable to our Senatorial District.


This radio station (Joy FM) was established in a manner that its signal is deliberately super imposed to interfere with every other radio station our people had access to prior to its establishment therefore denying our people their liberty of choice in terms of electronic media selection (tuning) as the radio station is now a monstrous monopoly.

Furthermore, Senator Mark in his characteristic deceptive manner deceived the unsuspecting people of Benue South with a phantom “NTA Otukpo” which he made sure never saw the light of the day because he would not be in a position to dictate what NTA broadcast as he does at will with Joy FM.

As political activities in our Senatorial district pick up due to the recent Court of Appeal judgment nullifying the election of Senator Mark and the consequent ordering of a re-run, Joy FM guided by David Mark is back to the trenches with what it knows how to do best which is the propagation of bias, unethical, vengeful and hate messages against a political opponent.

Most shameful, is the outright rejection of sponsored news items relating to the APC Senatorial Candidate, Comrade Daniel Onjeh by his hirelings in Joy FM which is a contravention of the code of ethics of the Nigerian broadcasting Commission that has always insist that on balanced and fair political reportage.

The Organizing Secretary of OCO took a news items informing the Benue South People of the reception for Comrade Onjeh but was told point blank, that there is a standing instruction from Mrs. Helen Mark, barring any news item relating to Comrade Onjeh even as she claimed that the earlier mistakes of reportage of Electoral Court cases heightened the awareness of the people.

In the light of the foregoing, the Onjeh Campaign Organization hereby puts the general public and Joy FM on notice that just as Comrade Onjeh approached the Courts when he was shortchanged during the 2015 general elections, we are once again constrained to approach the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission to state our case with respect to negative and bias messages against us.

2015 edition of the annual and much-anticipated music concert, the Soundcity Urban Blast Festival, went down on the 18th of December. The show which is one of the largest music annual music concerts in Lagos (probably only rivaled by Rhythm Unplugged) took place at the Landmark Centre in the Victoria Island area of Lagos and had in attendance, some of the biggest Nigerian artistes available.

If there’s an award for nightlife, merriment and resilience, you would have to give it to Lagosians. If you live in Lagos or you don’t, but you have friends in Lagos.

The event was hosted by Cool FM’s Dotun and he did an amazing job. Even before the first performance, Dotun, in collaboration with DJ Xclusive had been rocking the crowd in what can only be described as quite a commendable synergy. He did a good job helping us forget that they were hours late because more than three hours after the stipulated commencement time of 6pm, no artiste had taken the stage and it seemed like people didn’t seem to mind.

After the crowd had waited quite a while, Dotun introduced the first performance, rapper – Magnito, and it was back to back like that for a long time. From Pepenazi to Yung6ix, Niniola, Saeon, Endia, Yung L, CDQ, Mz Kiss, Jesse Jagz, JJC, Runtown, Skuki, Naeto C, Eva, Ycee, Bracket, Sean Tizzle, Davido, Harrysong, Tekno, Mr 2Kay, Vector, Reminisce, Koker, Victoria Kimani, Illbliss and Suspekt, Iyanya, Phyno and Solidstar everyone actually seemed eager to give the crowd a good show.

As expected,Davido’s hypeman, King Spesh (who used to be known as Special Ed) came and did an impressive introduction for Davido who also went on to give a fire performance as the crowd loved him.

Vector’s performance was absolutely fabulous. He seemed to be wearing a really long red shirt (probably a tunic) with “LAFIAJI” boldly written across the chest. Probably from his recently launched “Inoki Republic” clothing line. Vector has repeatedly mentioned this place on a few songs and as he seemed to have spent a lot of time living on Lagos Island, it’s probably a salute to the area. If there was a “Best Dressed Performer” award for the night, Vector would have taken it.

Phyno’s performance was probably the most lit performance of the night. People absolutely loved. They took all the words out of his mouth and it seemed at some point that we couldn’t even hear Phyno’s voice anymore. It was the crowd. Absolutely amazing!!!

The defected members were received by Governor Ortom of Benue state and other APC chieftains in the state.It seems APC has taken over the state since PDP lost the governorship race to APC in the last gubernatorial election.
