In this business buyers are not really encouraging,they dont mind the stress,time,funds and effort put into the business,they wld knw the actually price of fish but would still price it very low,so as the breeder who has a target to sell ur fish at fingerlings stage wld have no choice than to sell because you might end up still buying feeds to feed them which might now count as a loss because they must ve grown pass fingerlings stage and as for prices ,it is always constant (except you are lucky enough to get a buyer who doesnt knw the price ). assuming price of feed didnt go up,it is still very manage able.

Thanks for all the comments but I have not really seen any link to the published rates and trajectory of the naira vs. USD.

Technology has generally increased speed of information but that does not necessarily signify causation, rather it has made the market efficient and fair to all participants by eliminating information asymmetry.

There might be a short term benefit due to lack of information but over time, the market will figure out other ways (including new AbokiFX type information aggregators springing up).

Naira needs a more fundamental intervention but restricting information wont cut it.

Dollars value is determined through different economical analysis,demand and supply,imports and exports..
AbokiFX owner is based Abroad and created his App or whatever it is and is individually determining what dollar is to his own benefit without any economical backup.
All BDC's refer to AbokiFX rates,why?

Under Nigeria's nose, someone was given a great power able to make or mar the Country.
Due to inflation in cost of living,demand rate has dropped by an astounding percentage,so you ask why isn't dollar bending to the rule of demand and supply?

This is because AbokiFX uses no verifiable indices to place the value on dollar,he is a tool to people's greed as his own.
If AbokiFX was patriotic, knowing the power that he has, he'll strategically reduce the value of dollar.

This is one place where our government isn't smart in,to curtail a disaster sometimes,you have to use the disaster to help rebuild the damage instead of eradicating the disaster all at once.

AbokiFX is one of Nigeria's disaster which is highly punishable, the government was meant to strike a threatening deal with him to reduce the value he puts up on dollar strategically.
Since whatever price he states on dollar goes both locally and internationally.

I believe Abokifx was not fixing the rates but just reported the market. Even before the advent of the website, information on exchange rates flowed informally or through word of mouth.

I just checked Abokifx and it did not show parallel market rates for the dollar and other currencies. Wondering if it is from my end or due to the recent issues with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Honestly if so, it is rather disappointing that instead of focusing energy on finding ways to either stabilize the Naira or merge the exchange rates (BTW it has been done before by previous CBN leadership), they are busy fighting an information provider.

Happy to hear counterpoints if it is justified for the CBN to go after information providers in a supposed free market.

I am a student sir and I school far away from home, I finished my second semester exam last week and I am stranded here at school, it my friends who are currently in school writing their projects who are feeding me, I suppose to have returned home but the transport fare had jack up and it what I lack now, it had not been easy at home too and they have been promising me to send my transport fare since last week but up till now nothing. Please this fund will go a long way to get me back home, at least I will be feeding at home and will go back to the work am learning at home where I will be getting some little amount to prepare for next semester because I have a long way to go, I will have to find money for accommodation, feeding and other school petty fees. This is commendable. Though I'm not a student, i graduated from school (Lagos state university) last year. Ever since then, I've been finding it somewhat difficult getting a job. Neco had concluded her examination last month. I'm planning to visit one of the marking centres in Lagos, to partake in marking her exam scripts based on my area of specialization. The marking cordinators training will Kickstart tomorrow 3rd and run through till Monday 6th. Excluding Sunday (it's a 3 days training)

I'm out of cash, I don't have the financial means to transport myself to and fro the venue for the training. It takes a week or two marking scripts and afterwards, you get paid (about 20k)

Partaking in the examination's cordinator will definitely go a long way helping me have some cash to feed with and move around for subsequents job hunt
