Nigeria has been struggling to fight BH for decade, US has
never shown any genuine support, infact, at a time they're

several billions of dollars even all over islands in Africa. In

continent struggling to provide as basic thing as clean

On the other hand, China is building projects across Africa
from electricity to train to Airport, roads, scholarships to
Africans, etc even with their own money. Let's say we can't
pay and they take over them, who would still be using
those
infrastructure, Chinese? At least they brought them here, so
if we can't pay back and they take over them these things
would still be in use by Africans and improve quality of life,
just like every private business.
US/Trump that everyone is supporting call Africans all kinds
to unprintable names, visa ban, reporting weak sides of
African nations and continuously ridiculing everything we
do.
The list is long. China hasnt done any of these yet, western
media still find their ways into the hearts of Africans to
hate
Chinese. Sadly, enough some fake pastors joined this
brainwashed citizens.
Look at China, how many times have they tumbled African
govt? How many nations have China invaded in Africa?

many times has Chinese embassy criticize our local affairs?

New York started have underground train in 1809, that's
200yrs, they never extended such to Africa. China started

technology they have to us, that have improved our lives;

Review this and compare to our so called modern day speaking in tongues.

Completely agree with you. I strongly believe that the practical rationale for speaking in other tongues was and still remains for the propagation of faith.

I have heard an unverified story that it happened recently where a speech was delivered in an international conference and each attendee for some reason heard directly in their own language even though all the translation arrangements were made. As the story goes, it was not noticed by the organizers until people starting commenting at the end of that particular speech why their own language was chosen by the speaker and also expressed surprise that the speaker has native fluency in their language. Now, if this is true would represent actual speaking in other tongues vs. the noise in churches today.

Does Nigeria have comparative advantage in rice production? Capital no. That is why rice can be imported into Benin Republic, transported all the way to Niger Republic, smuggled into Nigeria and profits are still made. Production has never been Nigeria's problem but the lack of comparative advantage.

The British tried to encourage local farmers to plant rice but they were unenthusiastic. Their preference were cocoa, palm oil, rubber and so on. Those were the areas Nigeria had comparative advantage in then and the farmers and the country flourished and the country still hacks back to those days.

It has been estimated that Nigeria can earn as much as $2b just from exporting sheabutter alone. Snails if fully developed can earn as much as $2b. Thailand gets as much as $1.8b a year from farmed shrimp. The country is neglecting what it is good at and pouring resources where it sucks at.

You do best in what you're good in and fare badly in what you're bad at.

Sound argument. Only thing I would add for clarity is that importers of rice and other products need to pay fair duties so the government can generate revenue for investment in key areas that will continue to improve our competitiveness. Smuggling through the border must be eradicated at all costs as it makes the comparative advantage math unfair.

This is not how it is supposed to be done. The innocent buyer is a victim of a crime as well. He should not be punished - rather the seller until you get to the original criminal. Most likely the original criminal is engaging in this act in a wholesale manner. If you take him out, then you solve one big problem using less resources rather than running around chasing after several car owners.

Also if things work this way, car owners would cooperate with customs. It will also lead to people changing their behavior and buying from approved car dealers.
This is how things work in normal countries, a man who reasons like the customs boss (based on his comments) has no business running any public agency. Sad!

I think you misunderstood.. it is not a question of doing well but rather having to answer for the crimes of your countrymen in an unspoken way. And I speak from experience.

It is a burden being a Nigerian or of Nigerian descent in corporate America. The reputation of our people reflects on how people perceive you whether you like it or not. It is in fact a testament to the level of civilization of people in America and other Western countries that they do not collectively punish us and still allow our people rise to leadership levels.

We really need to change our ways whether abroad or at home. I know our leadership is pathetic but followership is a huge issue which means we truly deserve the government we have in Nigeria.

This governor has really surprised me on the upside. Very different from the general view of northerners that is prevalent in the south.

Still confused why the country is not making progress at least at the state level with people who are able to reason like this in charge. Unless of course there is significant issues with execution.

Really late reponse but if you are truly Igbo. I definitely believe you need to reflect on this proverb - "He who eats with the devil uses a long spoon". To help - this presumes that there are situations that call for you to eat with the "devil".

Very important topic. My advice for men is that you should never let someone else define your relationship with your kids. Maybe its culture... being macho etc but you should be shameless in making effort to get your side of the story out to your kids unless you are minded to be a dead beat. It will never happen to me.

This is completely stupid. While the policy is not good due to impact on permanent residents in the armed forces and other government roles that require them to be abroad, it has nothing to do with Nigerians specifically. Also naturalized citizens are not affected - you get American Citizenship either by been born in the USA or if your parents are Citizens. This does not change that.

Guy, take it from me as a guy who has been on this earth for a long time. I watched the 1978 world cup as a kid so you should have some idea about my age.

There is something called "being loyal". The man in question has taken you as his boy based on his being an acquaintance to your mum. He has placed you there as a test. He wants to see whether you are faithful in little. Read what the bible says about those who are faithful in little.

I left one of my ogas back then in awful circumstances. Later found out he had strong links to a research department in a University in Europe I wanted to go to for further studies. Needless to say that because that bridge was burnt, I did not use that opportunity. My life may have been different now, but I thank God still that I made it as an entrepreneur and I have managed my relationships better.

Do not fall to the temptation of leaving that job, hard as it is. The man may want to make you his CEO in maybe 5 years down the road, but needs you to learn how things work from ground up. If you leave now, you would have disappointed him and that bridge would have been burnt.

Endure the work. Great men all started from way down below and climbed to the top. You may do the PAGA stuff later as a side hustle. But do not leave.

I think this is a good advice for you to consider. To take it one step further - start acting as the man's ears and eyes in the place. If you see anything wrong, make sure you tell him or just give him periodic updates on how things are going with the work NOT with you (dont ever complain). He might initially act uninterested but you will see how he will start checking in if you fail to provide an update.

When you have done this for sometime, you won't need anybody to advise you to stay on leave because your prospects will become clearer either good or bad.

Not trying to take sides but makes sense for the priest to give more details on how he concluded that these were herdsmen. Luckily it is a priest and he survived and not expected to lie.

I have seen some videos that show villagers kicking out herdsmen along with their cows but they dont seem to be fighting back. Somehow - these attacks happen and attackers disappear immediately.

We need to find out what is really going on because lives are at stake here.

Regardless, the pictures raise a more important question in my view - are these really the herdsmen who are committing these atrocities? I really doubt it based on that picture - dont think a guy with a dane gun could be as dangerous as described in all the stories out there.
