I just sent you an email. |
I would like to know if there is a surveyor in the house that can take beacon codes in a land survey document in Nigeria and convert that to a location that can be shared via Google maps (i.e. specific longitude and latitude) Thanks a lot! |
Anambra state will enter 1 chance with this guy... his Godfather Tony Elumelu will use Anambra state money to play ludo in the name of investments. So sad! |
Effective annual interest rate of 55.1% I think it's quite high even for an unsecured loan. Do you absolutely have to take this loan? I am not in Nigeria but you should shop around maybe other banks are more competitive. That said, it is lower than what pay day lenders charge in the US but that's not even apples to apples comparison. |
Dangote is just being cute. He should disclose the wholesale price of his gasoline. The rest of the math is then simple. Just like in other markets, this price is expected to fluctuate based on market conditions most importantly the cost of crude. I hope the Tinubu administration holds the line on this. They are very close to solving this petrol issue. Its should be a competitive market with no government intervention except for quality control and tax charges. Dangote should compete with importers and hopefully other upstart refineries. If the price does not work for him, then he exports to other markets (earning much needed foreign exchange for Nigeria). However, if his price is not competitive locally and internationally, then it raises a fundamental question about his refinery. |
Guyfawkes2:You guys are completely right. I have been partly following the story on this National Assembly allocations (I bet it's not just the Senate that received allocations) and it is clear that Nigerians do not understand how things should work. The Executive arm at every level is supposed to implement laws including including executing projects passed by the National Assembly as part of the budget or other fiscal bills. In the US, senators and reps that "bring back the bacon" as it is called work with the local executives and identify projects and lobby to get them tacked on to appropriation bills. Then it gets executed at the local level with a lot credit to the rep or Senator (including naming rights). Sometimes these are useless projects - examples abound in the US. It is so sad to hear how this is talked about in Nigeria and some of the commentary by people who have no clue on how things should work. As described, this is a corrupt process, pure and simple. I hope President Tinubu would empower the budget director to pay special attention to this to prevent future occurrence and also use executive powers to not prioritize these undetailed parts of the current budget. Nigeria really needs help but unfortunately, the leadership we have is a reflection of the people that we are. |
Barrywilly:Thanks. I am looking at giving it to people that just call and text. No social media or apps. So it appears that it might be useful for that purpose. |
I would like to know if BlackBerry phones similar to the one in the picture still works in Nigeria for basic services - making calls and text messages? I have a few of these phones and I wanted to know if it is worth bringing back on my trip to Nigeria this holiday and giving out to folks that just need a basic phone. Would appreciate any answers.

Reference:Solid comment and my fear too about Nigeria overall. Any principled group would have milked this issue to unimaginable levels. But of course you get very few likes for the comment given the quality of the discourse here. Any |
FreeStuffsNG:Agree. Really a massive loss to Nigeria. Bode's influence goes well beyond yorubaland. The amount of people across all tribes he impacted their careers directly and indirectly is quite huge. So sad. May his soul rest in peace. |
oliverjiad:I just sent you a message on whatsapp. Please respond. Thanks |
Can you give me more information on this? Which estates is this near? |
I have a quick question for generator experts. I am looking to buy a 30-40kva generator. What is the difference between new "Korean Perkins" generator and the new Perkins generator sold by Mikano? Has anyone bought it and can attest to the reliability or are they just Chinese knock offs with low quality materials? Would appreciate any help as I need to get the generator asap. |
oliverjiad:Thanks but Is the quote for the 2005 RX 330 a typo? If not help me understand how that reconciles with the estimate you had provided below to some else a few pages back on 2010 - 2013 Lexus RX350 (a clearly more valuable car) Thanks a lot! ‐--- Good afternoon 2010 Lexus Rx350:#2.150m 2011 Lexus Rx350:#2.150m 2012 Lexus Rx350:#2.150m 2013 Lexus RX350:#2.150m 2016 Honda Accord:#1.6m 2012 Toyota Venza:#1.950m 2011 Chevrolet Camaro:#1.580m Regards Jaid |

sparko1:Why are you commenting on something you don't understand? How many Bank M&A transactions or any M&A have you worked on. Bank Capital structure works differently given that they are regulated and thats why my question/ point is valid. Anyway, the information should become public once the Bank publishes a financial report. You mentioned Twitter - who told you no money changed hands? You realize it was a public company and not all the existing shareholders (particularly the retail investors) were approached to roller over into the private acquisition vehicle. |
gypsey:You clearly did not understand me. He definitely would be a good project car partner. May be you should google project cars / hobbies. |
officialwdhtv:Who has this guy's contact. He would be amazing to work on project cars with. Really impressive to me. |
Similar to Emefiele, this lady has no business being a Central Bank Head. Her resume is full of retail banking roles. Probably best fit as a deputy governor for Bank supervision. We really need an economist for the CBN to help manage our economy. |
sparko1:Bank Capital structure does not work that way. It would have been helpful for CBN to tell us how incremental capital the buyers are injecting in the Bank. Otherwise, it would be severely undercapitalized. Alternatively, AMCON still owns the Bank if the debt is treated as capital on the bank's balance sheet. This would mean that it was just a management contract that was executed with 50B good faith payment along with a Plan to return capital to AMCON over time. |
I hope all these Pollsters would be held accountable, reputation wise post the election if Obi falls short. Would be good to see their sampling approach given that Obi's supporters are more "media" savvy (most likely more educated) and as such may be overrepresented in the data. That said - Atiku's camp should be worried as he seems to poll behind Tinubu. That is assuming that they are the real contenders. |
rickleye:You are 100% right especially as he mentioned perfumes. I was going to tell him the same thing but saw your comment first. It has happened to me and we locked the bags (which is not recommended) and authorities had to cut it in order to inspect the perfumes. I am happy to blame our country just like the next guy but almost certain that it was not Nigerian Airport folks in this case. |
This is another reason why 2023 Elections is very important for Nigeria. ACCRA, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Ghana on Monday suspended payments on most of its external debt, effectively defaulting as the country struggles to plug its cavernous balance of payments deficit. Its finance ministry said it will not service debts including its Eurobonds, commercial loans and most bilateral loans, calling the decision an "interim emergency measure", while some bondholders criticised a lack of clarity in the decision. The government "stands ready to engage in discussions with all of its external creditors to make Ghana's debt sustainable", the finance ministry said. The suspension of debt payments reflects the parlous state of the economy, which had led the government last week to reach a $3-billion staff-level agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Ghana had already announced a domestic debt exchange programme and said that an external restructuring was being negotiated with creditors. The IMF has said a comprehensive debt restructuring is a condition of its support. The country has been struggling to refinance its debt since the start of the year after downgrades by multiple credit ratings agencies on concerns it would not be able to issue new Eurobonds. That has sent Ghana's debt further into the distressed territory. Its public debt stood at 467.4 billion Ghanaian cedis ($55 billion as per Refinitiv Eikon data) in September, of which 42% was domestic. Attached are details of Ghana’s debt composition and debt servicing profile

ABUJA, Nigeria—Russian officials at the Southern Federal University (SFedU) in the city of Rostov-on-Don, near the border with Ukraine, have been pressuring African students at the institution to join Vladimir Putin's forces in fighting in Ukraine’s Donbas region, three students at SFedU told The Daily Beast. In the last three months, according to the students, officials at SFedU have tried to persuade them into accepting an offer from either the Russian army or the notorious Wagner Group, claiming both are willing to pay up to $3,000 and $5,000 respectively to foreigners willing to go to war in Ukraine. The students said some school officials have warned them that the Russian government may deny them certain privileges, including increasing tuition and canceling scholarships for some international students should they fail to take the offer. This is one of the best articulation of the political situation of Igbos in Nigeria. I am so impressed that he stood his ground and made these points. I only pray that we can read and understand. I do disagree on the engagement with Nnamdi Kanu as one of the key asks for the Igbo people as I believe security can be accomplished in the South East without Kanu. Overall very impressive! God bless Soludo for his courage. |
siofra:Sad I cannot remember. Read it a long time ago and would really like to find it again. Let me know if you do ever get it. Will do the same. Thanks |
There is a similar book that I can vaguely remember and also looking for. It started in pre/ early colonial Brazil when the Dutch was still fighting the Portuguese over Brazil. It told the story of generations of a woman that came to Brazil as a "forced" bride of Portuguese settlers. Really need the name of the book. |
