The ceremony though, could be closer than ever.

When you reminisce and think upon the doggedness and wholehearted dedication of some ex-corps members to impacting the lives in their host communities....

Its just saddening to know that what is due them stands the chance of being suppressed or politicized by vested interests.

However, its possible the ceremony is hinged on the passing of the budget..

I feel if the necessary steps are taken by all concerned parties post budget approval, it could happen anytime soon.

Well done Op,

You gave yourself to those kids, selfless, willing to go all the way, to do for them, what their own wouldn't want to, for selfish reasons

You left a lasting impression in their hearts, a reasonable number should have been brushed up by now, to a very good extent,

That, there is the whole essence of the NYSC scheme, the opportunity to serve selflessly, to develop lives/environments completely strange to you, it is a selfless adventure

Reminds me of my time in the North-West, Most people don't even give a damn what the situation is with the kids and where the challenges are in their schools,

And the truth of the matter is, its everywhere, from North -south- east and west, its a National problem, one to be tackled headlong, collectively, with all sense of purpose

There's a lot of mess in rural areas, from education to health to hygiene, generated by aborigenes who are supposedly naturally responsible for tidying up these areas,

For the tribalistic ones, you will need a lot of time to catch up with reality.

I think the excitement is even doubled when there's no anxiety and all of a sudden, you receive a text or a call to come to Abuja.

I did, I wanted to confirm if your phone has any issues with attachments,

Sometimes phones open attachments but cannot properly display contents because they are not compatible with the file,

Thank you for being honest,

I always felt the president did not just make those trips for the fun of being in the sky or seeing foreign faces,

There was always going to be something, somewhere, in the interest of Nigeria, we have just seen the significance and necessity of one of them.

Consequently, as events unfold, I trust that some, who referred to HIM as a junketeer 'd come to appreciate the essence of those trips.

Really sad experience, but its a good thing you survived, having an experience like that changes your entire perspective about life, more like a philosophical transformation, you may never see life from same angle again,

Just yesterday,

I had resumed work, and left the office to get breakfast, just opposite the office, next thing I heard was 'gboooa, ewo ooo, ewo oooo'

I turned, a keke was pushed off the road by a speeding bus, the keke collided with the culvet really hard,

There was a woman sitted at the back, she was bleeding badly from her nose and mouth simultaneously, she was in a pretty bad state,

She was trying to reach her hand bag and say somethings, but I adviced her not to move and speak as her condition could get worse,

Suddenly, nothing mattered to me anymore, I just wanted to see her in a stable and better condition, breakfast and work became irrelevant, blood was already on my shirt as I was trying to assist her out of where she was, mtchwww, If it meant having blood all over me to give her all the assistance she needed, I was ready,

Had to stop a keke and take her to the hospital where I waited to ensure she was eventually stitched and taken care of, until we were able to reach her son, some of these hospitals can be annoying, you bring a patient to A&E and they are not attended to on time, leading to further damage

Eventually I learnt she was on her way to look after her brother who just lost his wife, her son said, on her way to do good, this life

But I observed something, perhaps all state governments should have patrolling first aid and emergency buses, on every major road in all major cities, for a start at least, as this will bring much needed help to victims of accidents who can be taken to the hospital in a stable or remedied state except for very fatal ones who can at least be rushed down on time with the standby vehicles.. Nigeria has that kind of money

And people please, when there's an accident around you, don't just walk away, do something to help, it could be you in there, or your very own blood.

I think,

Looking at where we are now as a nation, economically, poor state of infrastructures and industrial development, education and health sector, security, job creation, and power generation.........

You'd understand that if the Nigerian senate gave the slightest damn about the state of the nation, the idea of entertaining an artiste or artistes would not even find a place in their brains talk more of having a place in their schedule.

Receiving artistes, is good in the sense that it encourages the entertainment industry, but this is not the time, at all

Oh Well, this is the Nigerian senate, where anything goes.
