Soon, I will start a new thread titled, "Are Nigerians Biased Judges". This thread has shown that, there are many Nigerians that their sense of reasoning is heavily clouded by sentiment, and emotion. E.g. Lastpage. He openly admitted he is a biased judge, even when trying to summarise a thread. Many are scattered all over this thread.

What kind of Ribadus summary/judgement is this? Are you a relative of Justice Marcel Awokulehin?
As a poster earlier said, which side of your pocket did you remove your summary/judgement from?
My guy, my advice for you is that, based on your username, always try to take a neutral stand.
Always put all the merits and demerits on the table, and let people choose, failure to take to this advice, please drop the username.

to me, the only major difference between mustapha and ribadu is that one was a militaryman while the later was a police officer.
both men have their major similarity in the area of total loyality to their bosses irrespective of what the law says.
yes to both men, the only law and authority they respect were their bosses.
i will be happy if someone here will quote me wrong with facts and figures.

This is Nigeria for you, somebody steals money without considering what the masses the money was meant for are suffering as soon as he has problems you see those who benefited from part of the loot sympathizing with him/her bringing up useless logic to buttress their points.  And we are hoping for change, let us continue to hope and pray instead of finding a solution for our man-made problems.

Just a car burnt from a fleet of cars and enough cash in reserve to purchase the latest and everybody is here crying sympathy
whereas lives have been lost because no health-care and drinking of contaminated water, etc. i don't have time to mention all
My Dear, you do not know me, and who I am.
I have not seen this man before, talkless of benefitting from him.

Please mind the use of words here. I just felt it that is all.
Go and price that car, and you will know what went on flame!.

This facts are real, but on why he kept the cash that long, he may have a better reason, but not hearsay.
His bullet proof jeep is there, and whenever he is in town, that is what he cruises with.
He might abandon it when next he returns for better days are there for him.
Putting him in the class with Mustapha, I think one has admitted that is wrong.
Ribadu was not what many thought he was, but since he started well, many loved his courage.
As for me, I can never praise any Nigerian leader. They are all there for their pockets.

See, lets get something right here. Ribadu might not be as bad as Mustapha, but there is a thin line separating both.
In as much as the punishment that will meted out to Mustapha might even be death by hanging, Ribadu does not deserve all the praises.
Until you admit that, Ribadu was a product of a government machinery to intimidate opposition, and scare away potential political contenders, then you will not be a fair judge. Can you tell us all that happened a couple of weeks before PDP primaries that gave birth to Yar'Adua? Please state it in toto, all that happened and Ribadu's role that brought about Yar'Adua?.

What you and others fail to know here is that, Nigeria and Nigerians of today, are no longer fools.
We now have retentive memory, and we store them as they come.
Our only problem now is that, we need government and the private sector to empower us, so that these politicians will stop blinding our eyes with a few Naira notes, before elections, and for us to have a very credible election(s). That is the problem of Nigerians currently, and not all these you are saying here.
This is a serious fact. No body will tell you the truth, and the role Ribadu played for Yar'Adua to emerge.
We all know what he did, after compiling the dossier of all those governors that wanted to contest against Yar'Adua emergence.
I dont have anything against Ribadu, but the way people see what he did. He really tried, but was not a saint though,

Anyway, Ibori sorry for your car, at least with your cash, you will buy another, or even the club may provide another, if you insist.

I'm all for fashola and his projects and I think he's doing a great job in Lagos state.

But why is the lekki epe expressway being redone wiv 3 toll stops, one infront of the oriental, another one just after chevron and the 3rd one after ajah, surely 1 toll gate is all they need, or are they more interested in generating revenue for lagos state than solving the traffic problem in lekki?
That is exactly the point. No one is really against this revenue drive, but the way and manner they go about it is alarming. Besides, where are the monies going to? Why 3 toll on a particular drive along a road? If his hands are clean as they claim, nothing is wrong in him being probed.

@cyberg,
by your logic above, do u think mustapha deserves what he gets for working under abacha?
power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely and that was the case of ribadu who forgot that he was supposed to be a product of an institution.
the powers obj instilled into ribadu made him felt bigger than the police.
even with the appology, we all know that the will of jonathan via obj is at work and not the police normal routine.
the indiscipline and corruption we see in our nigerian police is a product of our political system that is hell bent to destroy even destroyables in their inordinate ambition to be rulers.
Exactly.

Is it not reckless use of power to openly steal your peoples resources while they die in penury? Two wrongs don't make a right but at least Ribadu's use of power was on the side of justice. Those corrupt politicians deserved what they got, Ribadu didn't. And what police is going to learn indiscipline if the wrong to Ribadu is righted - the same police that stand on the side of the road collecting bribes openly?
No one has said, it is tolerable to either steal secretly steal or openly. But when one was/is being used as tool in the face of glaring persecution and some cases prosecution (genuine), is enough for one to be broken for once in life (for going beyond his limits persecuting and for totaly disobeying the same institution that made him). His letter as broken down has shown that Ribadu is a very arrogant man, that is/was power drunk, since he had OBJ's backing. His refusal to apologise to an institution (not an individual) is a glaring case that those that gave him that audacity are still at work.

Secondly, I am an executive governor of a state in Nigeria. I claimed my sovereign immunity. Detective Sergeant Ingram of the Metropolitan Police said to me: “You have no immunity. Your president said he has waved your immunity and we should arrest you.” And I asked, my president said so? He responded in the affirmative. I asked him, can you arrest any governor from any of the states in America if they commit offence here in your territory? He said: “No, but your president said we should arrest you.” He then put a call to Obasanjo and put the phone on speaker, and said: “Mr. President Sir, the subject, the governor of Bayelsa State, has been arrested. He is with us.Then Obasanjo blurted out: “Hold him o, hold him o, hold him o!” When I heard his voice, my spirit became dampened and then he used the other phone to call the Inspector General of Police that my people will react, so they should send mobile policemen from Port Harcourt and Delta to Bayelsa State.

The judge dropped his pen and asked him: “Are you sure you are the Attorney General and Minister of Justice?” Because in his 35 years as a judge he has never seen where a sovereign nation will go to another sovereign nation to ask that its own national should not come home. “You are writing history,” he said. The Crown prosecution now said: “My lord, it is cooperation.
Reckless use of power by OBJ and take note, his tools here: Bayo Ojo and Nuhu Ribadu.

ziga:
About my post. . .

A lot of things happened in the case that was described, and the news piece made the deduction that the doctors were careless based on an accidental scalp laceration.

I just tried to provide more information on fetal injuries and cesarian deliveries.

Even though doctors may be responsible for  some poor patient outcomes in Nigerian hospitals,  the journalist as well as we on this forum do not have enough information as well as knowledge to pass judgement.

I am no pro on medicolegal issues, so i know it is better to leave judgement on culpability for people who know better. And that will be a tribunal of some sort.

Even the Stella Obasanjo case was investigated based on evidence by experts before judgement was pronounced.
I am not against any investigation here too, but of what use will any be here in Nigeria, when it is another avenue to surpress justice. For the fact that, the doctors came up to admit they erred, then, let them face the music. That is how a baby the other day at LASUTH, was mistakenly infected with HIV. They did not admit this as well, until the parents of the baby went wild, which now attracted public outcry. The rest is now history. People should be made to account for their actions, and not even in the medical field alone.

This fact is basely, becos there is no profession that does not have her own risk, and pitfalls, but where one is trying to mismanage it like the above, then it is a shame. Stella Obasanjo died based on a similar circumstance, and the doctor today is serving a two year jail term, so what are you saying? Please remove this rubbish, for it is pointless. Besides, why did they not just call the parents and inform them of what happen, and even site similar circumstances in the medical field where such happened? It wouldn't have gone this far, if they had admitted this earlier, and simply tell the parents they will take care of the situation and see how to salvage what is left for the baby to survive on. I strongly believe, the parents would't have even gone anywhere, since they showed remorse, and even took further step to help. Why the sudden discharge?
@ Ziga, read the above very well and apply same in other post of yours, as it will surely be beneficial. The initial one was uncalled for.

Fetal injury is a possible complication of ceserian delivery and the risks of this happening will increase if an emergency surgery, rather than a planned surgery is done.
http://pregnancy.emedtv.com/cesarean-section/fetal-injury-during-a-c-section.html

I provided this information because i can see that everybody has judged without trying to research facts.

Culpability in this case can't be determined until a full investigation has been done. And the guilty should be made to face the music.

So what i think we should call for should be a full unbiased investigation of this incident and less sentiments.
This is the most senseless post for now here. How I wished you were the woman's husband, and you experienced the pains of nursing a pregnancy from 0 to 9 months including all the sleepless nights, and having to wake up intervally at night to assist your wife one way or the other, all through this period and some dummies later told you they did a mistake by slicing the same baby's head; then you will know why some rushed into those conclusions.

Dr. Adewale absolved the medical personnel from the fate that befell the baby but blamed the mother, who he claimed, opted to dress the wound at home with local preparations before coming back to the hospital.
Dr. Adewale, I am ashamed of your kind in Nigeria. What were you expecting from a woman whom you hurriedly discharged? Would you have owned up to this blunder if Public Defenders never intervened? Let them answer this question first?
