GMB should sack all this paper weight ministers.

If not that they were told to resign by GMB, most of them would still go ahead in contesting at the primaries.

But because they have to resign, some of them are now stepping down.

Community Leaders Kick As Army Detains Council Chairman Over Military Attack In Taraba

The community leaders of the Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State have asked the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya to immediately direct the release of the Takum local government council chairman, Hon Shiban Tikari, from the army detention.

Elder John Mamman, leader of the elders’ forum gave the directive in a press statement issued to journalists on Saturday in Jalingo.

The elders asked the army to release the council chairman or show course for why he was arrested and detained for over four days without communicating with the immediate family of his offences.

The statement quoted the elders as expressing shock over the military’s action against the council chairman.

“We thought the chairman was invited to the Barrack for questioning over the ongoing crisis between Fulani and Kuteb which have been wrangling within the area for some weeks ago.

“We are calling on the Chief of Army Staff to as a matter of urgency, order the release of our chairman from the army detention. It’s unlawful to detain an executive council chairman without telling his people what are his offenses.

“Within the for days of his detention, any time we go to ask of what is happening with him or what has he done, they always chase us out without telling us anything. They have seized his phones, we can not communicate with him nor, see him. we are worried and we want to know why he is been detained,” the statement read.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the chairman, Hon Shiban Tikari, was arrested alongside the Chief of Housa (Serkin Haudawa) of Takum and the clan head of Chamba, the (Mai Agwan Chamba) but the two were later freed out of detention.

Report also has it from the locals that the council boss is been tipped in suspicion by the 93 battalion army for the Tuesday attack on the military in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.

PoliticsICYMI: Actions That Caused Civil War Being Re-enacted — Justice Odili by ObosiLandlord(op): 1:32pm On May 15, 2022
ABUJA — Justice Mary Odili, who, yesterday, bowed out the bench of the apex court, yesterday, urged the Federal Government to pay attention to calls for the country to be restructured, warning that some actions that propelled the civil war, were being re-enacted.

Justice Odili, who clocked the 70 years mandatory retirement age, spoke at a special valedictory session the Supreme Court held in her honour.

She said her decision to use the occasion to draw attention to how millions of lives were lost during the Nigerian civil war, was not to whip up animosities or negative feelings, “but to call to mind of all and sundry, the emergency situation which now faces our nation.

“It, therefore, behooves on me, the duty to speak with the platform open to me today as a retired justice of the Supreme Court.

“I intend to do so with the concept of taking the option of ‘dying on my feet than living on my knees’. A postulation of Emilo Zapata Salazar, the Mexican leader in the Revolution of 1910-1920.

“In the spirit of one who has lived through a lot of experiences and accosted by knowledge, good and bad, I will talk to my country men, women and children loud and clear.

“As I had earlier mentioned, I lived through the Nigerian civil war, which was precursed by the January 15, 1966, army coup and later the July 1966 pogrom as it was referred to.

“In the July incident, I saw men running in their underpants with or without singlets from the Ikeja Army Cantonment, which presentation made us leave our home at Ikeja GRA as the killings moved from the Igbo soldiers in the barracks to civilian population of Igbo and we had to take refuge in a room in Surulere and later to the East and the follow up war that incepted in 1967.

“During the war, we survived the air raids with the bombers and fighters as low as the height of fruit trees with me catching the eyes of one of the pilots on an occasion.

“I am bringing this period up not to whip up animosities or negative feelings, but to call to the mind of all and sundry, the emergency situation which now faces our nation.

“Some of the actions or speeches that propelled the unfortunate war, which took the lives of millions of our people are being re-enacted at this time, hence the necessity for this reminder.

“I am delving into this area of our national life in the light of the saying that while one ought not to hold on to the past but must move forward, the lessons of the past should not be dispatched to the dustbins of history but utilised positively to navigate the present and future.“

PoliticsIPOB Declares May 18, 26 Sit-at-home by ObosiLandlord(op): 1:02pm On May 15, 2022
The Indigenous People of Biafra has declared May 18 and 26, 2022 as sit-at-home for the people of the South-East.

The group said it declared the sit-at-home, being the court dates of its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu as part of solidarity.

In a statement on Saturday, the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, also dissociated itself from a voice note purportedly announcing different dates, saying that any other date, is not from IPOB.

Powerful noted that the group’s core mandate is the well-being of Biafrans all over the globe, with emphasis in the homeland of Biafra.

He said the IPOB leadership is very strategic in its actions and directives to the Biafran people, so as to avoid playing into the hands of ‘its enemies”.

He said, “Our attention has been drawn to a purported voice note ordering Biafrans and residents of Biafraland to sit at home on a date other than May 18. This is the handiwork of paid agents and should be totally ignored.

“Those behind the purported voice note should go inform their pay masters to stop dissipating their energy and resources on a hopeless attempt to stop the collective will and decision of Biafrans worldwide to pursue our self determination right.”

While urging the people of the South-East to be very much on the alert, it noted that IPOB is not a faceless movement and does not announce its activities through voice messages.

The statement read in part, “Biafrans must be very much at alert because the enemies are trying so hard to create confusion in our land in its attempt to set Biafrans against themselves and scuttle our struggle for liberation. But we assure them that Biafrans know their plans and will not fall for their evil agenda.

“Like Mazi Nnamdi Kanu said, if you did not hear it on radio Biafra then it is not from IPOB. IPOB announce its activities and events only through official channels which are (i)Radio Biafra (ii) Press Statement from Emma Powerful (office of IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary) and (iii) Memo from the Office of IPOB Head of Directorate. To this end therefore the only Sit-At- Home order emenating and announced by IPOB leadership are the 18th and 26th of May, 2022 being the dates our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU will appear in court.

“Biafrans, friends of Biafra and lovers of freedom across the world and especially in Biarraland should therefore pay no heed to faceless DSS agents and impostors recruited to serve the interest of Fulani Caliphate.”

As things stand now, the APC still have the upper hand, it does not matter if the PDP zone to the North or South.
