1)The trash called petrol in naija is not good quality. octane value might not be upto 75 when you check it correctly. The petrol sold abroad is high octane. 2) Our fuel is leaded fuel so most of the exhaust pots are choked. 3) Engine management system of most cars in naija are not working fully because one sensor or the other is bad or one hose is not plugged or is clogged. 4) Wheels not alligned properly etc. I get about 260km/65l for a 2002 Honda accord AT (Euro/Uk model with 1.8l engine) for urban driving. I get almost 600km/65l for highway |

Made-in-Nigeria vehicles for inauguration in Sept By Rasheed Bisiriyu with agency report Published: Thursday, 2 Jul 2009 Local auto manufacturer, Innoson Group of Companies, based in Anambra and Enugu states, said on Wednesday that it would inaugurate its first brand of Nigerian- made vehicles in September. Director of the company, Mr. Augustine Onwuka, who announced this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu, said that the vehicles would be test run in September. Onwuka said that the vehicles included 14 seater and 18-seater buses, jeeps and cars with 1.6 litre engines. He said that the vehicles were not assembled but manufactured in Nigeria with Chinese experts as partners. He explained that the engine and axel were imported from Japan, while other body components were manufactured at a factory in Nnewi, Anambra State. “The vehicles will be 30 per cent cheaper than others in Nigeria because the price will be affordable for average Nigerians,’’ the director said. Onwuka said that most of the vehicles would be below N1m, adding that they met international standards. He said that the vehicles would have been inaugurated earlier but for the spate of kidnappings in Anambra State, explaining that two of the Chinese engineers working for the company were kidnapped and later released. The director urged the government to intensify efforts in addressing security problems in the country, noting that it was discouraging foreigners from investing. The Director-General, National Automotive Council, Mr. Jalal Aminu, said the effort of the auto firm was commendable and assured it of maximum support. Specifically, he said that NAC would ensure that the project was not in any way bogged down by government bureaucracy. He also promised to lead a patronage campaign for the products, especially by government agencies, private firms and individuals to sustain the business. Jalal, who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone, said NAC would make strong recommendation, for the company and similar indigenous firms to access long-term loans with low interest loans. Already, he said that Innoson had been a beneficiary of such loans for its motorcycle manufacturing division http://innoson-group.com/index.php |

good grade 10kva european or japanese made petrol/diesel generators will cost about 600k for brand new. If you can afford it go for it. It can serve you several years without repairs. @ carlinks , let me have the phone no of your friend. |
you can get a small diesel gen for less than 100k but it will not be soundproof . 100k will not fetch you an european made diesel gen except if it is tokunbo. Go to the tokunbo gen market at ilasa, i guess that you can get something there. |

I think the MTN 3g is the best internet service that I have used. I do more than 200mb daily and have always enjoyed service with little or no outage. i had used starcomm, visafone and reltel, they are all slow. Most people that use the Mtn 3g are on pay as you surf platform without knowing. I advice that they go to Mtn centre and make a report ,so that their problems can be solved. There is a nice lady at Mtn office in Portharcourt that supports 3g customers |

I am a xtian and feel that doing trado/church weddings on different days is just too cumbersome. Igbos are always accused of trying to sell their daughters, but most suitors are always trying to show of wealth only to complain about being asked for lots of money. I have some non-Igbo friends that married Igbo ladies and were suprised that they did not really spend much. I think that some people are greedy and that manifests when issues like weddings come up. I am Igbo and I know that in my hometown, weddings are not that expensive |
