kinnad: oga na wah for u o. did he tell u he supports looting. have u ever been robbed? pls dnt make me suspect u
I'm sure you skipped where he said he preferred the bigger thieves who loot the treasury to this guy. Do you know how many people who take to crime due to frustration daily? Due you know how many girls who take to prostitution due to frustration? How will you feel if you watch your parents die from lack of medical care after they have spent all their savings training you? Due you know how many Nigerian youth who are locked up in jails abroad? Keep suspecting me while someone is stealing your future away. Armed robbery is condemnable but death penalty should be reserved for murderers and looters as practised in China. This law is obnoxious and should be reviewed. I don't support crime in any way. But punishment should be commensurate with the crime.

So if you tell me that it is sinful to eat garri because it is not written in the bible, I should believe you? You shouldn't expect massive condemnation?

Magic Bishop: If you like ask your wife/girlfriend to prepare a hot meal for armed robbers when they visit you in the dead of the night while you gather any of your valuables to hand over to them and don't complain when one of them decides to have a quickie with your wife.

No body supports either of them but an armed robber is a savage beast that needs to be put down like a rabid dog.
What does preferring the bigger thieves to the desperate armed robbers mean? You don't create a jungle and unjust nation and not expect robbers and petty scammers. I'm sure you would support this dude if he were bold enough to rob the central bank of billions. You prefer big thieves, abi? Check yourself well man.

Magic Bishop: You are just assuming from your a$$.

I am not a practicing church going christian

The biggest man I know and fight for is me.

Now take your mirrored assumptions and make your self scarce.
I dont care if you are a witch, wizard, pen-robber or poo-hole! All I know is that people like you are the real enemies of the masses. Only a dimwit will support such lopsided justice system as we have in Nigeria. This convict for all I care is a hungry, frustrated and misguided youth who deserves pity and rehabilitation! What could keep a 24- year- old man in high school if not planlessness and sheer wickedness of the looters in government? If this guy were from a rich home will he even go to court? Why is Nigeria laws so mean on the poor? If this guy were your brother will you open that maggot-infested buccal cavity of yours to support this judgement? Will your warped mind be at peace with it?

Magic Bishop: I prefer the bigger thieves in Abuja than the desperate armed robber banging on my door in the middle of the night.
You must be either a bigger thief or an accomplice. The smaller thief is aggresive because he lacks the security and protection of the state available to the bigger thief. For the fact that you support looting and pronounce death sentence on an armed robber then you must be worse than this judge and a very wicked and selfish man!
Crime › Re: Student Sentenced To Death For Stealing Recharge Cards And A Mobile Phone by obyrich(m): 8:02am On Nov 20, 2013
Magic Bishop: There is a big difference between Armed Robbery and plain Robbery and I am the sure the original charge was for armed robbery a crime that is punishable by death. The daft Journalist wanted to created unnecessary headlines by omitting the initial charge.

In my opinion he deserved the sentence he got.

And No this does not warrant front page.
He deserves the punishment? For armed robbery? Yet people like you will gather in your churches to pray for James Ibori who stole the future of this youth? You will cry foul if similar sentence was handed down to Cecilia Ibru who robbed billions. You don't want it on front page so the world will not see and criticise your legal system? Do you know that Shina Rambo who murdered over 50 policemen when he was in the underworld is walking free today? Crass law of a jungle country!

ogugua88: I used the example of the homeless man, not necessarily because of his financial status, but more so because of his appearance. He was obviously confident enough to ask out a student, so he wasn't lacking there. Simply imagine it. His shoes are worn, his clothes are old and worn, his hair is messed up, he hasn't bathed in days... what business does he have asking out a student?
Lol. You sure must be a comedian. Wish you could see me laughing hard here. If you see me at work you might think I'm one unlettered dumb ass until you come closer and engage me in a convo. Things are not always the way they appear at the first instance. I still esteem you.

Tallesty1: And when they reach 35 without a husband they'd look for an unlucky guy to hook in the name of love. Love is a mystery you cannot understand. Most of these high class chicks you are talking about all have a boyfriend they'd never let the world know they are dating because he doesnt meet their class. They are doing their best to bring them up to their desired taste. Thats why sometimes you see the broke ugly guys with best chicks around and you would wonder how she agreed to date him let alone marrying him. Dey dia dey dream. Most of these rich and handsomely polished guys don't marry high-class-chicks like you think, they always end up marryng a girl from dia villa.
Kanu Nwankwo comes to mind here. He dumped all the classy chicks swarming around him for a simple undergraduate in his village.
Romance › Re: Why Do Some Men Go After Young Teenage Girls? by obyrich(m): 2:19pm On Nov 19, 2013
OP keep dreaming until you realise that your so-called teenage girls hanker after old men and shun their mates who are immature to handle them. I have had to talk so many girls out of this. Small girls who date my senior friends, old enough to father them. In short this OP is a learner.

yellowpawpaw: Nash, I don't think u've witnessed abuse that's why u r saying this. This is exactly how it starts. When it eventually happens, he will still remind her that he told her earlier that she will be beaten if she denies him s*ex.
My current hairdresser is just like this lady bluur. Due to time factor, she normaly come to my house to do my hair. Every 5 minutes she is answering calls with fear in her voice. Every 5 minutes she is explaining where she is, my home address, infact I had to start interrogating her. She is so much in love and still don't c anything wrong in that.
I had to befriend somebody close to her and upon inquiry, found out she hardly goes out(no wonder she refused accompanying me to a function), she is being tracked. The guy started beating her when he felt she was lying to him.
She don't hv young unmarried friend,
Yet to open a shop cos of money. Infact she can only go to church on sunday.

In her case, I don't really know what else to do. She simply won't listen. And they r not married yet.

So she don't hv to wait for the first slap,
She should run for her life.

Assuming d table is turned I wonder what u will advise d man to do.
I pity your hairdresser. When the guy dumps her after he's done using her she will shout men are wicked, abi? I also pity foolish men like her boyfriend who wouldn't allow women they are dating freedom to fully express themselves. He will have to contend with her true character after marriage. It's people like him that will come here to claim his wife's character changed after marriage.
Family › Re: For Abused Wives, Girlfriends & Men!!! by obyrich(m): 11:56am On Nov 19, 2013
Nashville: And your post above is one of the major purposes of this thread. The other is to help people going thru abuse. As I said earlier, I cannot categorically say run run run but the truth is that do not do anything rash like getting engaged or pregnant for this guy. You need to re-evaluate this relationship. Key question is that are you afraid of this guy? Do you just grant all his requests out of fear. If you are afraid or fearful of him, then that is a very bad sign and if he tries to rule you through fear, then you need to get out of the relationship. There are lots of things you have not said. His age, background etc.

I am just also worried that we may start labeling everything as abuse when some of them might not be. All I can say is that you seriously need to re-evaluate this relationship. As I said before the next time he asks for sex, say no not tonight and then watch. And do this every other time and then watch the true him come out!
I totally agree with this advice especially the sex denial and re-evaluation aspects. In addition the Op should try as much as possible to do it objectively and without bias.

ogugua88: Which is why I said a guy who's lacking should make up for it in other places. Confidence can take a person far, sometimes further than he or she could ever imagine.

Everyone knows a man's status can change. That's not news.
So does this explain your homeless man analogy? Read the Op's write up well and you will see the implied cynicism. However, I agree totally with your explanation on personal improvement. Ogugua the major advantage of dating across one's social status is that it challenges one to excellence. You don't have to wait until you become made until you date a classy girl. Though it comes with a great challenge.

dBard: Not all ladies

Don't agree.
The poster was talking in terms of working hard in order to meet d standards of those u want to date, NOT improving urself in order to be able t bring something t d relationship.
His post reeks of class discrimination which in relationships is silly i.m.o tho

U give/gave him too much credit
This is exactly my opinion about the post and Ogugua's reply.
Romance › Re: I Think Life Is Unfair To Women & Guys Need To Be Realistic! by obyrich(m): 7:25am On Nov 19, 2013
ogugua88: My mother and I had this discussion just yesterday. I showed her a picture of a guy that was trying to get close to my sister and I. Her response? "Some guys don't date within their caliber." I was telling her, if I were a man, I'd evaluate myself inside and out and toast accordingly, for the girl I want should have no reason to reject me. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the guys who bash Naija women in this section are the lacking guys going for Kim Ks.

I've always wanted to open a thread for women to share their toasting experiences (but I haven't because I already know the result of such a thread). The kind of offers some of us get are ridiculous, and we're still made out to be witches. If I tell you I was asked out on a date by a homeless man at a train station, who would believe me? Yet it's true lol.

That's always been my motto anyway. If you want the best, then be the best and attract the best. A guy who is seriously trying to get a woman should give her no reason to say no. You don't have to be wealthy or even handsome. Just carry yourself well. If you're lacking in some areas, then make up for it elsewhere. You're not handsome? Then be compassionate. You don't have a job? Then put your skills to work and tell her your plans. No man or woman is without a flaw. Any man who puts his best foot forward can get the woman he desires. After all his attempts, if she says no, then the man isn't the problem.

Your post is a breath of fresh air, DN. Well done. smiley
I've always had a special respect for you based on your opinions on similar issues. I'm gonna pretend you didn't post this. Ogugua, a poor dirty guy today can become a rich clean celebrity tomorrow. I don't want to cite examples. You should find out yourself.

No wonder Sullivan Chime threw Clara to the thrash can where she belongs! Guys should chase girls that match their social status abi? So if a guy gets richer he should upgrade? Peter Okoye would have dumped many girls who were there for him when he had nothing to marry Lola who matches his present status. People like the Op would marry a second wife if they become super rich.

pkota: I think its time we start asking questions about these revelations. Some of these heavens that people especially west africans talk about leaves everyone else with many questions and requiring that the claimants be further investigated is the story the same elsewhere in the world. The faith of so many are weakened more than being strengthened by these various heavenly revelations where as the exact opposite should be the reality. Some of these claims are frivolous and scripturally unballanced.I find it difficult to swallow hook line and sinker some of the points raised by these revelations like a woman going to hell for putting on attachment, painting lips or fingernails, and weaving or braiding hair.WHERE IN THE BIBLE CAN WE POINT TO AS EXPLICIT REFERENCES TO THESE DOS AND DONTS.One of these preachers in who condenmed hair braiding and attachment some time ago actually said that in that same heaven where she was told not to have additions to her hair on earth, her hair was plated with gold by angels which leaves me with questions on the implications of that act ,TAKE NOTE GOD IS INTERESTED IN HOW WE LOOK.

Ezekiel 16:8-14 ESV / 25 helpful votes

“When I passed by you again and saw you, behold, you were at the age for love, and I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your unclothedness; I made my vow to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord God, and you became mine. Then I bathed you with water and washed off your blood from you and anointed you with oil. I clothed you also with embroidered cloth and shod you with fine leather. I wrapped you in fine linen and covered you with silk. And I adorned you with ornaments and put bracelets on your wrists and a chain on your neck. And I put a ring on your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head

THIS GOD WHO DID THIS IN THE TIME OF PROPHET EZEKIEL (PRE-CIVILIZATION TIME) HAS SUDDENLY CHANGED as these west african heavenly visitors want to make us believe. The grace of God is what is helping us on the path of righteousness in this race ordinarily its not an easy race and so no one should attempt to make it more dificult for anyone.
Haven't you noticed that all these people claiming these things are not properly educated? I had a hard time convincing a pastor friend that there were no 'charms' on the circuit board of electronic gadgets. To him components like transitors, resistor, ICs etc are mere charms wrapped up by white men and installed on the circuit boards! These are the men creating cult followership in Africa and spreading all these heresies. I predict a massive exodus from the christian faith in West Africa when this generation grows to senility and many of these falsehoods unravelled. I wonder what is wrong with the gospel that promotes good fellowship among men that these people will not adopt it over all these scary and deceitful Aka Die-by-fire movement pervading the christian world today.
