So, I saw this article on PUNCH... https://punchng.com/finally-nigerians-have-now-been-approved-for-salary-payments-in-dollars/ What cracked me up was the way the whole thing was "packaged". I don't think they painted the picture in its entirety. |

CraigMorrison: 1.) I personally - do not include a price in my outbound. I leave it open for negotiation. 2.) Here are some reasons I give in my emails: - Complements their online marketing activities. - Protects their brand against identity theft or cases of mistaken identity. - It is an appreciable asset in times of valuation...(let me explain this - Our Nigerian-backed GIP was bought by BlackStone for $12Billion - when such buyouts occur, they are selling both assets and liabilities. If GIP has domains they bought for x - amount some years ago - they have room to revise/re-evaluate the value of said purchases.) *** You don't need to give this explanation - it is their line of business & they understand it. *** Your tone/wording should not be overtly "sales-like". It should also not come across as "opportunistic". 3.) For my call to action - I don't include the domain. I simple ask them to get back to me at their earliest convenience. *** Please bear in mind that - when writing your sales pitch, you NEED to understand your audience. (ie: what works for plumbing may not work for finance). Be creative. To me, none of these things are cast on stone. You try different methods and find what works best for you. 26 Likes 8 Shares |

Achonation: Congratulations on your sales... - I like these hedge fund niches because they have no problem paying 4-figures...(they have deep pockets). - I do agree that there is a thin ethical line to domaining, but - I believe what @Achonation did with this buyer was to identify a gap in their online brand's representation, and the buyer seemed very much willing to indulge in the purchase. If the buyer were to feel exploited, and felt they had a case - they would have initiated a UDRP filing against the seller. However, for me - it bores down to presentation and perception. Wishing us more sales! *** Don't limit yourself to Asset Management. Capital Partners Venture Capital Capital Management Private Equity Investments (There are more - just do your homework). There are prospects not just in the USA, but across the globe. These guys like protecting their identities, and when you find one who is interested in buying - do not be afraid to ask for a 4-figures. 37 Likes 7 Shares |

Jimneighbour: Hi,You've asked a very good question. Did you try making some findings on it online? When the competition for something is "high" - what does it tell you? Inversely, When the competition for something is "low" - what does it tell you? I could easily give you an answer - but that wouldn't amount to knowledge - holistically. My answer could further complicate or throw you off... Sometimes there are underlining factors affecting a "low" or "high" competition. Basically - it depends on what you intend using the information for... 'low" competition in an up-coming keyword could mean the advent of a trend... 5-10 years ago - who was searching for ChatGPT ? Have a blessed weekend. 2 Likes |

MrEja: This is just my "opinion" oooo - Houston is a robust city. - Texas as a state, prides itself as a Truck-loving place. - Other Keyword variants seem competitive If you have the heart, hold the name - but don't price it high (so as to get your first sale - to boost morale). Manually source for your leads.... Google those keywords "Houston Truck Dealers" and contact every company that comes up. If you don't have access to the CEO or owner, engage with whomever you can reach. Folks have sold names by simply filling out the "contact us" form. If you get someone's email address (eg: the General manager) - search online for the name of the owner/CEO ( then, coin their email in the same way as that of the General Manager) ... Hope this makes sense! Don't expect a sale on the first outbound, ready your mind to do some follow-up emails - give it 1 week intervals (so you don't come across as a nuisance). Finally - don't be afraid to make a mistake...(you'd make a few) - I'd urge you to hold the name, outbound and follow-up ... If it sells - KUDOS! If it doesn't sell - it doesn't necessarily mean you did something wrong...(just take it as the "cost of learning". Visit: Wordstream.com Play around with your keywords (and also get to know what keywords a domain is utilizing) - there is knowledge to be gained from this...see screenshots below ... **** If - you still have this name by the 11th month ...reach out to me. I'll take it from you at retail value.... 15 Likes 4 Shares

symbuul: Hi, SH-registered names (by default) are on their SH nameservers. SH also requires that their approved premium listings be on their SH nameservers (if you don't use their nameservers for these - they'd send you a few notifications/reminders before switching the name from - premium - to their basic/standard listing). The SH standard listing is just same as listing on any of the various marketplaces out there. It does seem like SH puts more effort and resources (and preference ) to promoting their premium listings IMHO ... (to me, that's the major distinguishing factor between their Premium and Standard listings). Outside of SH, Afternic and Sedo have this cataloging feature - which allows you assign "keywords" to your domain listings ... When utilized properly - it helps in getting your name showcased to prospective buyers who target those categories/Keywords.... Hope this helps... 5 Likes |

Jimneighbour: - I use the normal Gmail. - At its peak - close to 100 - It's a mixed blend. I coin most of my names - (but it doesn't mean they weren't at some point "expired domains". chicfarmer: I have only 1 domain with them... Nothing out of the ordinary about them. You could register, then wait 60 days (so you can get auth code - needed when transferring the domain to your prospective buyer). tldes.com/com - is a nice place to track some of these registry services. If they are an ICAAN accredited service provider - you have nothing to worry about. |

gabby227: Being motivated is a good thing... But, doing things the right way is equally as important. Did you undergo any training on this - before venturing into it? If not - why not contact the OP and get tutored a bit. It also helps to run through at least page 1 - 2000 of this thread (there's value in it). - You'd learn from the questions of others. - You'd also see some "beginner" mistakes and learn from them. Solely for the purpose of motivation I have attached screenshots of my first year in domaining. And the first sales I made. I stumbled on this thread, took the OP's training - and began domaining. I made my errors and learned from them. There's a lot of educational motivation and critique in the earlier parts of this thread - you should do well to read them. To the glory of God - I have seen growth. My earnings this year is roughly 5times my year 1. Currently (2023) - I am still very much a newbie in domaining, but I now make a decent number of sales every month and average between $1-$2k monthly. Strictly through outbounding. Apologies for the long essay - but, if it is motivation you want - I have shared my journey with you. There are folks with more exciting domaining stories to tell on this very thread. I urge them to please share... Thank you @OP Iyke - for starting this thread. It has literally changed my life! 17 Likes 3 Shares

gabby227: - I used to have this sort of challenge... (Picking or choosing of domain names). - The solution (for me) - was to put myself in the shoes of the people I intend selling the domain to. What is it (about this domain name) hat would make me want to spend $$$ for it. No one can "realistically" give you a time-period for a domain to sell... (matrices or not). Acquire quality over quantity - or structure your model to quantity over quality. There's also an element or "Rinse & Repeat" in this business... If you stumble on a niche or naming pattern (and it eventually leads to a sale or 2) - do not be afraid to intelligently replicate the steps and activities that worked for you. At any rate, keep pushing - and don't be afraid to make a mistake (there is knowledge to be acquired in the process). The limitations we tend to perceive - most times, are self-imposed. 13 Likes |

Greenscientist: It takes a decent amount of SEO (and time) to rank on page 1 ... I just see (and pitch) the domains I sell as somewhat of a brand "enhancer"... But, aside from all this grammar ehn - truth be told - beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder... 8 Likes 1 Share |

Greenscientist: ... In the beginning - I've had endusers literally "school" me on these claims. (Except the domain has some really impressive SEO numbers) - I would rather word my follow-up email in this way: Hello, I'm doing a follow-up to the email I sent earlier - concerning the sale of the domain: Nairaland.com Owning this domain would give your business an added advantage - as it would compliment your marketing activities. Businesses are always competing for identity (especially when it comes to online identity) - owning this domain gives your brand an edge in this regard. I'd be happy to discuss any further questions or clarifications you might have, and I'm open to considering a price that would be mutually beneficial to both of us. Would you be kind as to let me know if interested (or not). Thanks as I await your reply. Best wishes, Seun Musa Obi 25 Likes 10 Shares |
