Being motivated is a good thing... But, doing things the right way is equally as important.

Did you undergo any training on this - before venturing into it? If not - why not contact the OP and get tutored a bit.

It also helps to run through at least page 1 - 2000 of this thread (there's value in it).

- You'd learn from the questions of others.
- You'd also see some "beginner" mistakes and learn from them.

Solely for the purpose of motivation I have attached screenshots of my first year in domaining. And the first sales I made.

I stumbled on this thread, took the OP's training - and began domaining.

I made my errors and learned from them.

There's a lot of educational motivation and critique in the earlier parts of this thread - you should do well to read them.

To the glory of God - I have seen growth. My earnings this year is roughly 5times my year 1.

Currently (2023) - I am still very much a newbie in domaining, but I now make a decent number of sales every month and average between $1-$2k monthly. Strictly through outbounding.

Apologies for the long essay - but, if it is motivation you want - I have shared my journey with you.

- I used to have this sort of challenge... (Picking or choosing of domain names).

- The solution (for me) - was to put myself in the shoes of the people I intend selling the domain to.

What is it (about this domain name) hat would make me want to spend $$$ for it.

No one can "realistically" give you a time-period for a domain to sell... (matrices or not).

Acquire quality over quantity - or structure your model to quantity over quality.

There's also an element or "Rinse & Repeat" in this business... If you stumble on a niche or naming pattern (and it eventually leads to a sale or 2) - do not be afraid to intelligently replicate the steps and activities that worked for you.

At any rate, keep pushing - and don't be afraid to make a mistake (there is knowledge to be acquired in the process).

The limitations we tend to perceive - most times, are self-imposed.

What happens when they buy the domain and they don't rank on first page?

I think domain name still works for SEO but it's impact is very minimal.

We should practice sustainability.

It takes a decent amount of SEO (and time) to rank on page 1 ... I just see (and pitch) the domains I sell as somewhat of a brand "enhancer"... But, aside from all this grammar ehn - truth be told - beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder...

- The use of Service or Services is sometimes governed by how businesses in that niche predominantly identify themselves ...

Not all of us understand (or have the patience) to dig into things like search volume or competitor analysis for the keywords/niches we chose to delve into... Myself included!

To play safe - use resources like:

* Namebio(.)com - to see if your keyword has had any recorded sale.

* A place like: wordstream(.)com - using their free keyword analysis tool, helps paint a picture on the viability of the niche, as well as presents a few alternative keywords used.
This could be a helpful "shortcut" to anyone struggling with understanding how to make sense of the data on google analytics

* Another "shortcut" is to run your keyword (or niche) in marketplaces like Dan/Afternic/SH/BB/etc - to get a feel for its marketability...it also helps you identify a pricing range (or pricing patterns).

I missed out on the GPT wave - and it pained me because prior to the whole ChatGPT matter - I had stumbled on talk about it within tech forums - but I brushed it as "rumors" or empty "gossip"....

Its good to be aware of trends (both those that are on ground, and those that are in the works)... Following Tech trends is somewhat straightforward - and even if you don't get the "BIG" names - you'd still likely get something that would sell ... Congrats once again.

Hi Fam... I've gotten a few email inquiries from fellow comrades here (who somehow think there's a "special" technique or "secret" to my domaining). I don't have any secret techniques my brothers/sisters... I just try to be active/responsive on here - which makes it seem like I "know" - whereas I'm very much a learner...

Of recent - we've seen & learned how (stealth commandos like Awesomeduru ) pulled off a great sale.

Another inspiration (for me) is LiftKid...

Ofcourse Iyke too (but - there are loads of them...) click on their NL handles and read their past posts pertaining to domaining - there's always something to learn from it.

My humble 2-cents to anyone wanting guidance here -

1.) First point of call - do Iyke's training (this removes the need for asking some unnecessary questions)

2.) Join "groups" or forums that are centered around domaining...The internet is littered with many of them!

*Twitter - search for the term domains (then follow who-is-who in the industry).

*Clubhouse - download the app, then search for the terms domain/domaining/domain sales .... And join/follow everything meaningful.

*Newsletters - For the niche that interests you ... Search & subscribe to them in this manner "newsletters + niche" - (Example: Artificial Intelligence + newsletters) - majority are FREE!

*Across social media (Twitter/FB) subscribe & follow niches that are of interest to you.

The essence is to stay INFORMED!

If you want to be successful at this - LEARN and keep on learning. Be INTENTIONAL in your efforts. Make a deliberate effort to discover what works for you & build on it. Perfect it. Make it yours.

For those of us that heavily utilize Dan.com's import lead feature (almost all of my deals are imported leads) - it appears, of late - many of their import lead notifications drop in the the "spam" folder...

More worrisome is the WARNING in red (that usually follows the mail)

*** I feel, a more convenient approach would be to include the transaction fees in your BIN and then mail it to your buyer...

I also noticed when I do an import lead (and the buyer says they don't see it - I go ahead to send them the BIN link for payment (and the transaction fee remains the usual 5%)

I used to have this thinking a while back - but it is not so.

For me, some of my names sell quickly because I researched/read/studied the name/niche/target-buyer.

I spend a ridiculous amount of time profiling my possible buyer - which is why - when I present him with my domain it is almost certain he would buy... Simply because I've touched on something he/she might have overlooked.

Before I forget - In the start, I subscribed for Iyke's training. I used his technique and methods for a while. But, as a human being you continue to evolve (or build on your success) or else you'd remain stagnant.

I KNOW the frustration that comes with a sales drought. You begin to question EVERYTHING you know about domaining...(I urge you to stay strong) BUT, this should not mean we result to asking "funny" questions (REALLY - many of these things we are asking can be found on Google or by merely contacting customer care) ...

A few things that I work with:

1.) Time Management - you've got only 24hrs per day... Use it wisely.

2.) READ...LEARN...STUDY (there's simply NO shortcut to this)

3.) Patience... Be patient enough to allow your efforts to yield. Farmer wey plant seed for ground today - no dey wake up see tree tomorrow.

4.) GOD. (I pray).

BONUS:
If you've read this far & you are looking for your next niche - here's some that I think are hot at the moment:

1.) We know "AI" is hot right now - research on tech companies that are active in this niche/segment. At some point - you'd "stumble" on a possibility (it could be a forth-coming product, it could be a better version of their domain name) - and register it. This would likely sell in 4-figures because these guys pay big! Same applies to machine learning and robotics.

2.) Finance - this is VERY broad, so niche down a little to any of its sub-sectors (loans, mortgage, Brokerage, insurance, investments & VC, FinTech/Payments)

3.) Real estate - this is also VERY broad... (property management, architects, interior designs, constructions)

*** I've given you the niches I am heavily involved in, your work is to dig deeper/research and discover your path for yourself.

*** Join newsletters and groups/forums to stay informed & updated on trends and possible events/happenings.
