Hi Everyone... Hope this helps someone here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/how-long-did-it-take-from-getting-ito-domaining-and-then-selling-your-first-4-figure-domain.1313323/ Especially the contribution by Bob Hawkes For folks looking for sales reports - here's your plug: https://www.namepros.com/threads/report-completed-domain-name-sales-here.83628/page-1017#posts Other random reading https://www.namepros.com/blog/the-popularity-of-the-prefix-my-and-a-look-at-domain-name-prefixes-and-suffixes-in-general.1313643/ *** We are at varying levels to our domaining learning and exposure.... But, the first 500 - 1000 pages of this Nairaland platform is always a delightful refresher course. |
Here's an interesting pricing insight from SquadHelp https://twitter.com/darpanmunjal/status/1715344522450763848?t=rvkHXeEOEa4nISnP9oA6nQ&s=19 * It could serve as a helpful guide for our BIN/ make offers. |
Loool... My brother ... What you're seeing are the "wins"... Let me share some "losses" MercatoPrivateEquity.com https://dan.com/buy-domain/mercatoprivateequity.com After doing ALL my permutations and reaching out to my target - we even had a price concensus - then he suddenly ghosted me! I don mail am tire - no reply. I kuku pointed the domain to his website (nonetheless) and would remind him of this - every month - with hopes he acts right. Same story/situation for these as well: RiverPrivateEquity.com NewRoadPrivateEquity.com JacksonSquareInvestments.com RedMountainCapitalPartners.com PrimaryVenturePartners.com IdahoInsuranceService.com CaliforniaMortgageRefinance.com It feels great when celebrating the wins - but truth be told (I have a number of losses too). Essentially - my technique fails me sometimes, and favors me sometimes... Na GOD dey do am! symbuul: |
YoobaNesan:Totally agree. There are gems in other extensions. You just need to know what to look for. For the English-speaking regions :- .co.uk .ca .com.au .ie Non-english regions (this needs more caution) .de .nl You'd find absolute gems - which are relevant to them because they tend to prefer domain extensions on their regions. |
Brother - seriously - there's NO secret ... Just figure out what works for you and commit to it. God has favored me (no doubt) - cos my technique is counter intuitive... Greenscientist: |
Another one came through... Outbound I use leads from Google search. I've elaborated on my style of domaining in previous posts. These 2 sales do not tell the full story of the sales that never happened o... I have names that simply did not sell... Infact 2 such names this month alone... But in ALL things - to God be the glory!
|
H/T - 1 week thereabout. Outbound. BIN $2500 - buyer negotiated to $1500 Wishing us more sales. (sometimes - if you see an opportunity in a non- .com - it doesn't hurt taking a chance. Buyer was using "viii" capital - (and their domain was to expire this month...)

If you're new to domaining - and looking for more sales reports (for motivation) - check here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/report-completed-domain-name-sales-here.83628/page-1016#posts Every now & then - I check to see what folks are selling, at what price, the rationale (and any other ingredients) behind the sale. Fun stuff! |
Congratulations U1... Lovely sales - especially that GPT Sale. I missed out on the GPT wave - and it pained me because prior to the whole ChatGPT matter - I had stumbled on talk about it within tech forums - but I brushed it as "rumors" or empty "gossip".... Its good to be aware of trends (both those that are on ground, and those that are in the works)... Following Tech trends is somewhat straightforward - and even if you don't get the "BIG" names - you'd still likely get something that would sell ... Congrats once again. Cheers to more wins. U1: |
Still on domaining strategy... Have a read on this: https://www.namepros.com/blog/developing-a-domain-name-acquisition-strategy.1311835/ Bob is a very resourceful person to follow on X and at Name Pros... Hope this is helpful to someone...Take care guys! |
Lol... I hail thee! |
Hi Fam... I've gotten a few email inquiries from fellow comrades here (who somehow think there's a "special" technique or "secret" to my domaining). I don't have any secret techniques my brothers/sisters... I just try to be active/responsive on here - which makes it seem like I "know" - whereas I'm very much a learner... Of recent - we've seen & learned how (stealth commandos like Awesomeduru ) pulled off a great sale. Another inspiration (for me) is LiftKid... Ofcourse Iyke too (but - there are loads of them...) click on their NL handles and read their past posts pertaining to domaining - there's always something to learn from it. My humble 2-cents to anyone wanting guidance here - 1.) First point of call - do Iyke's training (this removes the need for asking some unnecessary questions) 2.) Join "groups" or forums that are centered around domaining...The internet is littered with many of them! *Twitter - search for the term domains (then follow who-is-who in the industry). *Clubhouse - download the app, then search for the terms domain/domaining/domain sales .... And join/follow everything meaningful. *Newsletters - For the niche that interests you ... Search & subscribe to them in this manner "newsletters + niche" - (Example: Artificial Intelligence + newsletters) - majority are FREE! *Across social media (Twitter/FB) subscribe & follow niches that are of interest to you. The essence is to stay INFORMED! If you want to be successful at this - LEARN and keep on learning. Be INTENTIONAL in your efforts. Make a deliberate effort to discover what works for you & build on it. Perfect it. Make it yours. You're 1 name away from your next mega sale! May success locate each of us as we strive... |
If it is possible - why not receive the money through an exchanger (and save yourself this hassle). Look for this user COKEBAR (she is reliable and will receive it via PayPal). Brokeness: |
Congrats brethren! ANTAX99: |
You've kinda answered your question - with the scenarios you've painted. Don't overthink this thing. Each scenario has its peculiarity and should be treated uniquely (with all the information at your disposal). By information at your disposal - I mean quality of the domain, profile of the prospect, your current financial situation - can you hold or are you looking for quick flips...and any other known/unknown eventualities. Work out what works best for you. AuntyAmope: |
You're welcome! ... I'm not a BOSS ooo! Before my helper passes me by. AuntyAmope: |
For those of us that heavily utilize Dan.com's import lead feature (almost all of my deals are imported leads) - it appears, of late - many of their import lead notifications drop in the the "spam" folder... More worrisome is the WARNING in red (that usually follows the mail) *** I feel, a more convenient approach would be to include the transaction fees in your BIN and then mail it to your buyer... I also noticed when I do an import lead (and the buyer says they don't see it - I go ahead to send them the BIN link for payment (and the transaction fee remains the usual 5%) Just thought I'd share.

Send an email complaint to: support@letsextract.com (letsextract support) - AND - copy these guys: sales@payproglobal.com (this is their payments processor) AuntyAmope: |
Wow! Congrats Awesome... I'm not surprised sha... You've been a heavy 4-fig seller (low-key)... You're good! AwesomeDuru: |
Yes you can. It is the only feasible way of funding your grey wallet. Omini247: |
1.) Grey doesn't provide USD account. 2.) Fund your Naira, then swap it to USD 3.) Then Create the virtual MasterCard EVERYTHING else is self-explanatory. Feel free to contact customer service if you have any issues/queries. palinco: |
I used to have this thinking a while back - but it is not so. For me, some of my names sell quickly because I researched/read/studied the name/niche/target-buyer. I spend a ridiculous amount of time profiling my possible buyer - which is why - when I present him with my domain it is almost certain he would buy... Simply because I've touched on something he/she might have overlooked. Before I forget - In the start, I subscribed for Iyke's training. I used his technique and methods for a while. But, as a human being you continue to evolve (or build on your success) or else you'd remain stagnant. I KNOW the frustration that comes with a sales drought. You begin to question EVERYTHING you know about domaining...(I urge you to stay strong) BUT, this should not mean we result to asking "funny" questions (REALLY - many of these things we are asking can be found on Google or by merely contacting customer care) ... A few things that I work with: 1.) Time Management - you've got only 24hrs per day... Use it wisely. 2.) READ...LEARN...STUDY (there's simply NO shortcut to this) 3.) Patience... Be patient enough to allow your efforts to yield. Farmer wey plant seed for ground today - no dey wake up see tree tomorrow. 4.) GOD. (I pray). BONUS: If you've read this far & you are looking for your next niche - here's some that I think are hot at the moment: 1.) We know "AI" is hot right now - research on tech companies that are active in this niche/segment. At some point - you'd "stumble" on a possibility (it could be a forth-coming product, it could be a better version of their domain name) - and register it. This would likely sell in 4-figures because these guys pay big! Same applies to machine learning and robotics. 2.) Finance - this is VERY broad, so niche down a little to any of its sub-sectors (loans, mortgage, Brokerage, insurance, investments & VC, FinTech/Payments) 3.) Real estate - this is also VERY broad... (property management, architects, interior designs, constructions) *** I've given you the niches I am heavily involved in, your work is to dig deeper/research and discover your path for yourself. *** Join newsletters and groups/forums to stay informed & updated on trends and possible events/happenings. Disclaimer: This is just my opinion. TastyFriedPussy: |
Click on the domain name, then seek nameservers & edit accordingly. Greenscientist: |
Try to keep/save 10-20$ on your dynadot "prepay" ... This would save you from such experiences... Good luck! Greenscientist: |
* I'm assuming your correspondence is with the decision -maker... ------ Well - it appears they are not ready to buy (at this time). Option 1.) I'd suggest you give it a month (or 2) - then email them again - asking if they'd be willing to revisit this offer - albeit at a reduced price. Option 2.) If you don't have that patience, you can send him a reply stating you are currently in the process of raising funds for an alternative venture - and would be willing to accept a much lower price (albeit to get the domain off your hands). *** if you structure your words properly in option #2, you might get him to buy - at a reduced price. *** My perception is that your enduser has an appreciation for the domain - but might not have the budget for such an expense right now. ------ Wishing you best of luck. Neutral15: |
KOLLEE:Its doable. I believe that is one of the ways our folks withdraw on SH. ** Understand this: With Grey.co you can setup a UK (GBP) Europe (EUR) account. Funds deposited into the account (must) be in the above-stated currency... (GBP/EUR) - as this is what your account can accept. On the platform, you can also get a virtual MasterCard - which you can use to buy your domains (or make payments) anywhere online... **** If you have ANY further questions, feel free to consult their customer service - they'd respond in 24hrs or less... |
Pk01:-Download the app -Follow through with the setup & verification - Once verified, select "Naira" and fund accordingly ... My Grey automatically created a Sterling Bank account in my name - so once I credit that sterling account - I see the funds in my Grey app... Good luck! |
Hi - I'm suggesting that Yiu reduce the price to around $500-$600 (then email the enduser something like this...) Hi xvxvxv Thanks for getting back to to me on this. I was looking to sell this domain for $550 - but, if it really interests you to own it - what price range falls within your budget? Do kindly let me know at your earliest convenience - so we can seal this deal. Best wishes, xvxvxv **** 24hrs after sending him this, follow-up with an inquiry that you're still awaiting his response to the offer you made earlier... Good luck! Neutral15: |
1.) I use regular Gmail (I have like 6 Gmail accts) 2.) My signature takes this form: My Name CEO | the domain I'm selling Phone: I have a Google voice # (but for those who don't have a foreign # - simply put Dan.com's customer service number there) Ayilara1: |
1.) Google search "newsletters + niche/sector" 2.) There is no "magical" sales letter... I keep it short & simple... Example: For my Deal Maker Reach sale - I found out from my research that the CEO has a side-project that they seem passionate about. The name was available for reg, I bought and pitched it to her...(In my sales pitch, I asked her to make me an offer for the domain). She replied within 24hrs with $2k ... (I was delighted). She later "consulted" her IT people - whom probably told her she was offering too much money for it - bad market people... She even replied that she's no longer interested...but - instead of killing this prospect - I persuaded her to revisit the offer. I gave her a second opportunity to make me an offer which she could stand by. This time, she offered $300 and I sold. For the Modular Home Builder - From my research, Canada is undergoing a bit of a housing crisis (not enough homes). The Modular Home builders are experiencing a market boom. I coined that name, bought it in .ca & .eu - got a few interests for the ".ca" - but the person that ended up paying was like the third offer I had received. I'm guessing he was quick to act. *** As the narrative for each name is different - so does the sales letter. *** if I'm able to get a "not interested" reply within the grace delete period - I'd simply delete the name take the $3 loss and move on. *** I can't over-emphasize creativity. Be creative in your thoughts & process. You'd make a few mistakes - but you'd learn as well. Sorry I don't have any sales letter template to share. palinco: |
Robnectar:I use Grey. co ... Their virtual card works perfectly. I've also used VersatileVee .... |
August Sales: DealMakerReach(.)com HT- 7days $300 ModularHomeBuilder(.)ca HT- 7days $250 HeritageCreekHomes(.)com HT - 10days $1000 CalibrateAnalytics(.)com HT - 7days $150 (undersold this, but I fancy quick flips). TotalLendingConcepts(.)com HT - 14days $450 -All outbound. -All coined. - I do a mix of BIN & Make offer. -Not every of my coined names sell - I get stuck with some, or the prospective buyer just ghosts me. - Some names sold at the first outbound, but most were sold after 1-2 follow-ups. - I source my leads online (Google search). - I target decision makers or heads of marketing department...( I find their emails via Snov/Apollo/Rocket...etc) ...at some point, you tend to have an idea of how their email addresses might be Example: Btinubu@Bleep.com or Bola.Tinubu@Bleep.com or Bola@Bleep.com ... You Sha get the idea! - I follow lots of online news/newsletters - that's basically how I get my inspiration for what I coin. - September is looking good (3 sales in the pipeline). - None of these names have any matrices, just gut instincts and GOD's grace. - I'm still a noob in domaining ooo ... Pls drop any questions here - so that anyone can chip in with an answer & the knowledge can be shared. My advice to anyone struggling in this thing - be patient. Find what works for you, perfect it for yourself and keep grinding. Have faith in the process - as it isn't always easy...and, if you don't "love" what you're doing - pls do that which you "love" - cos it is this passion that will keep you going when dry spells occur. - Don't be shy to ask meaningful questions. Lots of peeps on here (low-key ) make 4-figs every month. - Follow domains and all things domaining on Twitter & clubhouse... E get why! The difference between the rich & the poor is "information". PS: Apologies in advance if I don't get to reply you in a timely manner. This research and outbounding eats into one's time... May God bless us all...
