Obiagelli I am very disappointed by the fact that you seem not to have a clue about the functions of the different arms of government !

I will try my best to educate you and hope you don't reciprocate with your regular insults which has become the hallmark of the APC both on and Off line

1. It it the duty of the president or any other citizen to sponsor or send a Bill to the National assembly for consideration and possible passage into Law!

2 after the submission the only other input the public or the president can make is when the relevant house committee calls for public hearing

3. After the public hearing and presentation of reports and clause by clause consideration of the bills as well as other legislative process the Bill will only be returned to the president when it has ben passed by both house and Harmonised with a clean copy sent for assent

The President sponsored the Bill, the Minister of Petroleum has made several presentations on why the National assembly needs to pass the Bill

GEJ cannot be President ,National assembly and Judiciary all at the same time

On the Confab report

Many recommendations do not require amendments to Law, or the passage of new laws this the president can do by exercising his executive powers after due consideration of the matter in question

Examples of such recommendations

1. Return of mission schools forcefully taken over by the federal and state Govt

2. Mayoral status for FCT

3. Cancellation of Severance package and life insurance for legislators and others

Na you open thread, na you be FTC! Is that not greed. This is exactly what APC will do if they won the presidency, loot our common wealth out of greed.

It's becoming obvious, as well as sadden that some anti-GEJs does not know that we have three arms of govt, with distinct functions, and is so painful they display this narrow mindedness and lack of the known in the open. Is it GEJ that will pass PIB into law? Or was the PIB passed and he refused to sign it into law?

Is not surprising, if the apc projected presidential candidate lacks the basic understanding of democracy, and a certificate a testing to his knowledge, then the followers must be...

My vote is for the person that appreciates democracy and respects it binding laws.

#GEJtill2019.
Fantastically written!

Honestly I had a lot of Repsect for Falana Until he started his defence of a Certificateless society !

The problem with most APC members is simple

If you support them you are a patriot, if you support GEJ you are paid

If we win election it is fair, if PDP wins it was rigged

Everybody refused to give this man SAN as a matter of fact he was the most snubbed layer of all time finally Under GEJ, the sun shined and he got it!

I also remember GEJ has invited this fellow on some occasions where legal counsel was needed,But Falana wants more!

He wants to Be attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice!

That in his own opinion is not self serving?

Make we hear word!

GEJ till Falana comes back to his senses

PoliticsAmnesty For Boko Haram: I Will Not Go Into Office With That Promise - Buhari by ochejoseph(op):
The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), on Thursday, ruled out amnesty for   Boko Haram insurgents if elected President on March 28.

He said the activities of the sect which has so far killed over 13, 000 people since 2009,   had become a source of worry to many people within and outside the country.

Buhari was at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, London, where he addressed the world on various issues concerning the rescheduled general elections.

He said,   “I think I will not go to that office with that promise. I have said in my address how, at least 13,000 Nigerians have been killed by Boko Haram, how millions of them have been displaced and are now kept in different camps called Internally Displaced Persons camps.

“Schools have been burnt, there is so much disruption to normal life; people cannot farm and where they are able to farm, they cannot harvest. So, granting amnesty to Boko Haram will be unfair to the system.”

Buhari, who described himself as “a former military ruler and a converted democrat,” however stated that any insurgent caught would “be given the chance in civil courts to be properly prosecuted.”

I'm really happy to be around this section when all these beautiful things are happening.

Was it a coincidence? I doubt. Barcanista tacitly announced his famous return to the umbrella family just a few days after we started talking. He's one enigmatic fellow; someone who knows his onions, and will be a great plus to whichever divide he supports.

His decamp from the broom waving camp came as a shock both rude and brutal; his departure uundeniably inimical to the power, success and influence of the broom wavers. Most of his former broom waving colleagues are yet to come to terms with his departure, and with every javelin of insults they prove his decision right, and with every attacks they further strengthen his decision and courage.

I knew the attacks would come, but I never knew Barcanista have such a thick skin to bear them and still show deep maturity. His words presents extreme tolerance and brotherly love; his language bespeaks gentleness and firmness.

Politics is a game. We must not take it beyond that. We all desire a better Nigeria, and we must not go about it the same way. We must make room for defections as this.

At the end, we all be brethren.

And our nation shall be a nation to be reckoned with......

‎Dear Barcanista,

I have chosen to write you publicly not because of the Insults and blackmail you have received from your former comrades but because I believe you have taken the right. Decision!

Personally I have been at the receiving end of your outburst on many occasions while you held sway at the opposition's camp and I took all in good faith, we in the PDP do believe in constructive engagements with all Nigerians no matter your religion, Opinion or political Party, that's why  I never missed the birthdays of Friends Like Obiagelli and Berem despite the Fact that we represent different camps on NL.

I must commend the maturity and the real sense of responsibility with which you have managed all the insults and uncharitable words thrown at you, especially from those closest to you.
This uncommon show of maturity in the face of needless and unprovoked attack should not in anyway dampen your spirit passion and commitment to the development of our great country.
Such unfortunate behaviour only confirms what Nigerians already know " that APC both on and off Line are bad loosers "

Their refusal to accept and respect your decision   to exercise your constitutional right of the FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION  shows that there is nothing progressive about them .

On behalf of all peace loving Nigerians particularly those on Nairaland we welcome you to Team
TRANSFORMATION!

May God Continue to increase you in wisdom and Grace

Best Wishes

PoliticsDisparaging Comments About Nigeria: Reno Confronts Buhari With Facts by ochejoseph(op): 3:50pm On Feb 26, 2015
Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, has faulted claims by the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, that Nigeria’s economy is not in good shape.

Omokri, took to micro-blogging site-Twitter to debunk the allegation of Gen. Buhari who addressed the Chatham House, London, Thursday.

“Facts are sacred opinion is free. Anyone disparaging Nigeria’s economic progress is living in denial,” he posted with accompanying images of the verdict of international organisations that Nigeria’s economy is on the positive side.
New York-based financial software, data and media company, Bloomberg, Wednesday, projected Nigeria as the sixth fastest economies in 2015, ahead of United Arabs Emirate, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Mexico among others.

It will be recalled that CNN Money, a business analysis programme, in January, listed Nigeria as one of the fastest growing economies for 2015. According to the report, in 2014, Nigeria’s Economy grew by 7.1 per cent.

It said that in 2015 the economy was expected to grow by another 7 per cent.

Global professional services firm, KPMG, also praised the ongoing $13 billion high speed rail project that is expected to transverse 10 states in the country, listing it and the trans-Saharan natural gas project among the top 100 infrastructure in the world.
United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, UNCTAD, said that Nigeria has the 4th highest rate of investment return in the world; International Food Policy Research Institute said that hunger in Nigeria is reducing, while the World Bank said that poverty in Nigeria is down by 2%. Recent rating by Transparency International also shown that corruption has reduced.

PoliticsPres Jonathan Approves Automatic Promotion for Soldiers who Liberated Baga by ochejoseph(op): 9:12am On Feb 26, 2015
The Nigerian Army on Wednesday announced a special promotion for all soldiers involved in liberating Baga in Borno from Boko Haram insurgents.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah, announced the promotion while addressing the soldiers during an official visit to Baga in Kukawa Local Government Area.

Minimah said the promotion was to reward the soldiers for their gallant effort in flushing out the insurgents.

He added that soldiers who died in the battle with the insurgents would also be promoted posthumously.

“The entire country is singing praises of Nigerian soldiers for the bravery exhibited in the fight against the insurgents.

“I urge you to keep the tempo by striving hard to record more successes’’, Minimah said.

He expressed optimism that insurgency would end in the next couple of weeks.

“Never again will Nigerians suffer this kind of large scale destruction in the name of insurgency’’, Minimah said.

He said his visit was aimed at boosting the soldiers’ morale and building more confidence in them.

“The war is almost ended, we will liberate Dikwa, Bama, Gwoza, Marte and other places in a few days time’’, Minimah said.

He advised Nigerians to support the military in its quest to end the insurgency.

“Nigerians should maintain confidence with Nigerian armed forces. They should support our military because there is no other.

“War is war. War does not often come out in favour of any one. In fact, it is the end that justifies the means.

“The war, as it stands, has turned out for the good of Nigerian Armed Forces, and God willing, in a matter of time, it will be over.

“So, I encourage Nigerians to support their military’’, Minimah emphasised.

He said that the six weeks offered by the Federal Government for the military to clear the insurgents was achievable, going by the recent developments.

“It is achievable; we are still within the time frame. But six weeks should not be taken that everything must be attained because this is war’’, he added.

Minimah assured that the military would strive harder to ensure the return of peace to all the affected areas in a short while. (NAN)
