Vice Chairman of the Chadian Electoral Commission CENI, Adam Mahmadu has sought the assistance of Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in conducting elections in his country, lamenting that most of the countries it had expected support from had shunned its overtures.

Speaking when he visited the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu Friday in Abuja, Mahmadu said the Chadian commission which was established in 2014 has been incapable of conducting parliamentary elections, a situation that has seen the present lawmakers serving for an additional term of four years.

He said the situation got worse when the country joined the fight against the Boko Haram terrorist group.

“Nigerian officials have been making efforts to put us on the world map of election. INEC Nigeria supported us in the 2016 presidential elections. I hereby state that Nigeria was the first country to support our election in Chad,” Mahmadu disclosed.

He said even though their first mission to Nigeria was to thank the commission for its past support, added that the second issue was to seek for the country’s support in organising and conducting their parliamentary elections.

“We want to hold the parliamentary election because the actual tenure of the National Assembly members finished on 21 June, 2019. They have finished two tenure of four years each,” he said.

“Today, our armed forces are doing a good job in the Lake Chad basin. Apart from the issue of the Boko Haram, Chad supported Mali to combat terrorists in their country.

“That is why we are facing challenges in the election conduct. For that reason, we consider Nigeria as a brother country to help us in organizing the election in Chad. I want to make it clear that none of the countries have come to help Chad to conduct its elections. We have received some promises from the European Union but none has come.

Suspected kidnap kingpin, Alhaji Hamisu Balla, a.k.a Wadume, who has been in the middle of the raging storm between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police over the murder of three police operatives and two civilians by soldiers in Ibi town, Taraba state has finally opened up and made startling revelations.

My name is Hamisu Balla, alias Wadume, 33 years old and I am from Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State. I am married to four wives and I have four children. I went into crime when some politicians came for me, they approached me through one Babangida Musa, who was also into fishing business.


I got N6m from a sitting governor, N13m from APC, defrauded civil servant of N30m, In June 2018, I deceived a lot of politicians who were vying for political offices that I had spiritual powers to enable them win their elections.

I defrauded the governor when he came to Ibi and met the youths in my town. As the leader of the youths, the Governor met me and I promised to work for him and to also consult some Mallams who would pray for his success.

The Governor gave me N2million at first and we exchanged telephone numbers. But one week before the election, the governor called me and asked me to come to the Government house and when I got there the governor gave me N4million cash to continue with the prayers.

A mother, Chinasa Ukaonu, has rekindled the flourishing baby trafficking otherwise known as baby factory in Imo State as she willingly sold her own baby after delivery for N500, 000.

According to the State Police Commissioner, Rabiu Ladodo who disclosed this to newsmen through his Public Relation Officer Orlando Ikeokwu, Ukaonu had left her matrimonial home with an 8- month-old pregnancy informing her husband , Promise Ukaonu, that she was going to stay with her brother for a while at Mbaitoli.



Few days after she left the house, the CP said, she sent a message across to her husband informing him that she lost the pregnancy.

Mrs Ukaonu after deceiving her husband, proceeded to a baby factory where she was said to have delivered the baby with the help of two nurses, Esomonu Dorathy and Eke Catherine said the Police Commissioner.

A Nigerian woman in the United Kingdom, Gloria Makanjuola, who committed a series of robberies and theft on buses in Hackney, even targeting an 87-year-old woman, has been jailed.

Makanjuola, 28, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court to two years and eight months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to eight counts of robbery, four counts of theft and four counts of fraud at an earlier hearing at Thames Magistrates’ Court.

Makanjuola committed the offences between September 2018 and October 2018 across Hackney.

Her victims were aged between 18 and 87 years and all the offences occurred on buses in Hackney.

One victim, an 87-year-old man, was targeted by Makanjuola as he travelled on a route around Wick Road.

She sat next to the victim and tried to put her hands in his pocket, he told her to stop but she managed to grab around £80 in cash.

On another occasion, an 18-year-old woman was on board a route 277 bus in the area of Mare Street, E5 when Makanjuola started talking to her.


During the conversation, she kept touching the victim and was crying.

The victim told her to leave her alone, Makanjuola then left the bus by pressing the emergency exit button.

When the victim got up to leave the bus, she noticed that her purse and oyster card had been stolen.

Detective Sergeant Coleman, the senior investigating officer from the Roads and Transport Policing Command, said, “Gloria Makanjuola was a prolific offender in the Hackney area.

“She targeted vulnerable passengers using the bus network system, committing robbery or theft offences.

“So I almost died on Saturday.
Went to bed early but woke up around 2 cos I felt no.2 coming. I’m on the throne waiting for the poop to poop. Omo nothing o but the pain in stomach was on a rise. Next thing cramping turns to biting on the inside. To point i couldn’t stand.

All alone in my house, i start calling random friends. Nobody pick. At this point, i strip and put my stomach on my marble floor to cool the temp because it was blazing hot. And i couldn’t move. Pains getting worse and worse. I start vomiting. At that point, i call my gateman to come to help me.

That one also didn’t pick. Dozing . na so I just order uber. When the guy arrived i had him wake my stupid gateman. He helped me walk to the car and i made it to the hospital near my crib. I rush inside and collapse. I can’t even explain to them so i start pointing. Thank God.



The doctor smart. He pumped me with extreme painkillers and antibiotics. Na so my vision just blurrr and lost feeling in my legs and basically passed out while still conscious if that makes sense to u.

So apparently my brother in law who is a Gastroenterologist calls back my Missed call and the doctor answers and tells him. Bro in law gets my bro and his wife to go pick me from there and take me to another hospital for stomach scans. I don’t remember any of that. When they ruled out appendicitis they concluded on acute food poisoning.

And moved me to the Third hospital where my older sis in law who is in from Yankee took over. And resuscitated me to live. The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has ordered his members to attack President Muhammadu Buhari in Japan,

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Sunday depart Nigeria for Japan to participate in the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development.

In a statement, Kanu described Buhari as
“an impostor, Jubril Al-Sudani,” who is masquerading as the late dictator Muhammadu Buhari.

He further told them to make sure that President Buhari is arrested when he sets foot on Japanese soil.

Kanu further revealed that under Japanese law an impostor is a common criminal and subject to citizens arrest.

The Former Minister of Aviation and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has told former Military Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, that the various prayer sessions he is conducting would be wasted if he (Gowon) does not apologies to the Igbos over the genocide against them during the 1966 Civil War.

The former Minister conveyed this in a statement he signed on Monday, adding that 300 Igbo army officers, including an Igbo Head of State, were murdered on July 29th, 1966 by northern army officers.

He also reminded the war lord that 30,000 innocent and defenseless Igbo civilians were slaughtered between September and December 1966 by savage and barbaric northern mobs in three separate pogroms in the north before the outbreak of the Nigerian civil war.

“Finally 3 million innocent and defenceless Igbo civilians, including one million children, were targeted and butchered by the Nigerian Army and the northern ‘Gwodo-Gwodo’ auxiliaries and militias during the Nigerian civil war between 1967 and 1970.

“General Yakubu Gowon can conduct all the prayer sessions that he wants for Nigeria but until he acknowledges the fact that the genocide that the Igbo people were subjected to under his watch between 1966 and 1970 was unacceptable and until he appeals to the Igbo nation to forgive Nigeria for what we did to them, things will get from bad to worse.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesman in Lagos state, Joe Igbokwe, lashed out at head of states, President Buhari’s critics while appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics on Monday August 12.

The Lagos APC spokesperson claimed that the PDP never did anything tangible in its 16 years in power, and further added that anyone who claims President Muhammadu Buhari is not doing well is a liar from hell.

Nigerian media personality, Daddy Freeze has waded in on the social media conversation of ‘Jesus being the only way to heaven‘ which was ignited by comedienne, Maraji’s post, with his opinion on the claim.

According to media reports, Gani Adams, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland has appealed to the Federal Government to release the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore.

Reacting in a statement, Adams said the arrest was an abuse of human right to freedom, stating that the planned revolutionary protest could not be said to be treasonable since it was yet to be implemented before Sowore was arrested by the DSS and that such arrest portends grave danger for Nigeria’s democracy



Adams, who faulted the rationale behind the arrest, said it was unfortunate that Nigerians usually forgot events and memories of the past. He said that Nigeria’s problems emanated from the military’s dictatorship and tendency to gag the press and prevent freedom of speech and expression.

He however, said with the information at his disposal, the convener did not consult many of the civil society groups. The planned protest, he admitted, would have presented to Nigerians, the needed opportunity to express their feelings to President Buhari.

A police officer has appeared in selection of photographs demanding and collecting bribe from a motorist at Igboelerin along Lasu-Ojo Expressway, Lagos.

An eyewitness sent the photographs to The Punch saying the incident was a usual occurrence on the route.

The source said the police officers usually demand N50 or N100 from commercial bus drivers.

The anti-graft agency also sealed East High Primary and Secondary school, Owerri which belongs to Rochas Okorocha’s first daughter,Uloma Nwosu.

Also sealed is All-In Supermarket, Owerri, said to belong to a member of Okorocha’s family.

Okorocha who was governor of Imo State between 2011 and 2019 is currently representing Imo West senatorial district in the Nigerian senate.

A near-mishap was recorded today at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, as a plane ‘crash-landed’ today at the facility.

The travelers reportedly survived the incident due to the expertise of the female pilot, but the plane lost its tyres after crash-landing. It was further gathered that the emergency rescue came 52 minutes after the incident occurred.

As we arrived Lagos on @flyairpeace , the pilot (she was a woman, I was so proud) announced that we will be landing at international tarmac because of visibility issues. The sleep wey bin dey my eyes, auto cleared.

Some minutes later, seems the plane started nose diving on a fast track. And she in her expertise applied control. Then… Next… It picked up a speed and bang!!! bang!!!!!

We dropped from the sky to the hard ground. And the ceiling of the plan dropped. Children crying. People screaming Blood of Jesus! Some screaming my Mummy. It was hard! My life flashed before me….

Then the pilot informed that she can’t estimate the damage, however, that the plane lost its both tyres. That she had signaled for an evacuation. She kept working hard, though unsuccessfully, to calm agitated

Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed on Tuesday night as fire razed a market on Kosoko Road, Berger bus stop, Ojodu area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

Several buildings in the market were destroyed as the fire razed on in the night.

Executive Director, Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASTMA, Femi Oke-Osanyitolu said on arrival of LRT at the scene of the incident, it was discovered that the buildings which housed several shops selling clothing materials and other goods were on fire.



He said the actual cause of the fire was not known.

The LASEMA boss added that the actual loss would be determined upon conducting post disaster enumeration after the fire had been put out.

“The operation is still on going, our responders at the scene include: LASG Fire Service, NSCDC, NPF and LASEMA,” he said.
