I asked my school to differ my admission till next year cos I don't have enough time to apply for september intake.
So I will have to wait till sept 2014 cos the school doesn't have multiple start dates.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 10:59pm On May 06, 2013
Siga: ...Bro...they already told u its too late....dont u think they know before telling u that its too late? ... These guys wont entertain ur email ....the processing as per CDHC is 18weeks for a complete application...which is pretty much 4.5months....do u have that left? Nope...so...either look for another school for January start or wait till next Sept.
Oga siga I have seen someone whose application was processed within 3months and was issued a Visa. Should I take the risk or wait? But sept 2014 is too far for me oh!
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 10:39pm On May 06, 2013
dommakavelli: Don't play with fire o...pls don't ignore them. just write to dem, n let them understand that it's not too late to apply for visa because you have enquired from the embassy in your country abt the processing time.

I think you must have asked a question frm them in a wrong way, *they misunderstood your question* n they're advising you to defer your admission.

N if i may ask, which sch is that?
The name of the school is Algonquin college, ottawa.
So I should tell them that its not too late to apply for Visa abi? But if I may ask, is it really too late? Despite I have about 3-4months 2go?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 9:12pm On May 06, 2013
Pls guys can u imagine the school that gave me admission is telling me that its too late to apply for visa now in Nigeria cos my start date is september, they said I should consider sept 2014 start date instead. Please should I ignore them and go ahead to apply for the visa or should I listen and wait till sept 2014?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 9:05pm On May 06, 2013
coldgate: Pls.type. No one has time to decipher that lovely hAndwriting u are planning to carve. Typing it makes it legible and less time consuming. Remember to turn on auto-correct o.
Thanks bro

Please I wanna ask this question before I make a mistake, will my letter of explanation and letter of sponsorship be hand written or typed?
Thanks
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 11:18am On May 05, 2013
dommakavelli: 1. They're the same tin n they serve the same purpose.
2 you can choose any format, but it's advisable to write it in a formal letter.
Address:
Canadian Deputy High Commission,
4, Anifowoshe street,
Victoria Island,
Lagos.

3. Your sponsorship letter should be a formal Letter (very Important)
Thanks a lot bro. Now how am I gonna pay the visa fee because I don't have the embassy's account details? Since they said we should pay by bank draft. Does anyone have their account details please?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 6:09am On May 05, 2013
Please is letter of intent and letter of explanation the same? Am confused in the two letters. If they re not the same, do I need to write both letters for visa application?
2ndly, while writing letter of explanation, will it contain an address? That is will it be written like a formal letter? If yes, then which address will I direct it to?
3rdly, will my sponsor letter have the same format with my letter of explanations?
Thanks
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 2:57pm On May 04, 2013
Shadams: In drafting the letter, my brother. Do not forget to relate your personality strengths and your first degree to the new one you seek. Let the reader get a feel of your passion, competence, and commitment to return to Nigeria to help society with newly acquired knowledge. Wishing you all the best! God no de sleep!
Thanks bro! I will keep that in mind.

movein: Hello house!

I wanna know if 3 semesters prog is equivalent to a year or 2..

Can i also use my GTB Master card to pay for my application fee on ontariocolleges.ca

Thank you!
Depends on the school curriculum
YES u can pay with master card to the school.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 12:46pm On May 04, 2013
Nuendo: You can always modify the format. Relate your second degree to your aspirations and why u feel u need to do that second degree. DONT MAKE IT LOOK LIKE U ARE JUST DOING ANY COURSE FOR THE SAKE OF GETTING INTO CANADA.

There must be some form of tie to the course, your aspirations, and coming back to your home country.

hope that helps
Yeah! It helped a lot. I will start drafting my letter now
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 12:41pm On May 04, 2013
richard4ssky: yes you right. Is lik you have an ideal about the school. Is just an 8 month program. So how much do you advice me to be in my statement of account
The first term school fees should be written/given on ur acceptance letter
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 11:19am On May 04, 2013
richard4ssky: well in my acceptance letter my george brow college it was noted that i must pay my tution fees befor my adminsion can be offer a place in the college. In this case what should i do
U hv to pay the first term fees.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 11:16am On May 04, 2013
Nuendo: LETTER OF INTENT
1. Start off with a very very short description of who u are and your basic interests
2. Your qualifications , degree , etc
3. Work experience relevant to your first degree etc.
4. why you want to do a masters and how doing such would benefit you in your life aspirations
5. why you want to study in in Canada instead of Nigeria or another country e.g USA, UK etc
6. The u have to somehow try to convince the visa officer that your study would be beneficial back home thereby reinforcing your intent to come back home after studies.

LETTER OF SPONSORSHIP:

1. Sponsor should introduce himself, occupation, address
2. Explain his relationship to you.
3. Explain why he wants to sponsor you ( if he isn't blood related.)
4. Assure that he has the financial means to be responsible for all your expenses

DISCLAIMER : This isn't a perfect guide but going by most of what i have seen online, this could be a starting point.
my 2 cents.
Thanks but am not going for masters, am going for a 2nd degree in a different course. Should I use the same format?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Odinwa(m): 8:42am On May 04, 2013

I have 2 questions to ask, the first question is that: is NYSC certificate compulsory in visa application?
The 2nd question is that: is it possible for a school to extend my admission to another batch or will they require me to reapply? Thanks you

Robbie37: @Odinwa
My brother, I'll advise you to contact the head enrollment officer of the school. You may try getting She/ he to charge your credit card, that would require you to provide your debit card details to enable a successful transaction.
It's important that you carry them along or involve someone in charge when things like this are not going right. I learnt this the hard way. All the best.

Cheers
Thanks bro! But I don't have a credit card, only debit card (ATM card) and secondly am not sure they will allow me to talk with the enrollment officer, u know how this oyinbo behaves sometimes.
Is it wise to open a domiciliary account?
