How many times have we heard,

Zombie be o zombie .
Zombie no go talk unless you tell am to talk.
Your thieving politician only want zombies.

It is no fluke that state police and regimental army were park of the SW Positions.
It is a pain to see one of the most disciplined police force in this part of the work(the western region constabulary) be replaced by thugs and nincompoops who mostly have no roots in odua states .

PoliticsNewsweek :Boko Haram ,Terror's Insidious Face by oduastates(op):
It’s several weeks since the Islamist militants of Boko Haram kidnapped more than 260 girls from a school in northeastern Nigeria and the general wants me to see what he’s up against. He invites me to his office in the capital, Abuja, and opens his laptop.

The general clicks on one folder titled Abubakar Shekau. A first clip shows the future leader of Boko Haram in his years as a preacher, in a white cap and white babban riga, the traditional Nigerian pajama, tunic and cape. A second clip is more recent, from 2013, and shows Shekau in a clearing, looking far bulkier, in full combat camouflage.

The next clip shows Shekau’s former No. 2, Abu Sa’ad, a few months before his death in August 2013. He is giving a speech to his men on the eve of an attack last year on an army barracks in Bama, Nigeria, a town on the Cameroon border. The fighters, who appear to be mostly teenagers, grin shyly at the camera. Abu Sa’ad says that the attack has been long planned and that most of its architects are dead
“You should look for victory or martyrdom, which is victory in the eyes of God,” he says. “A martyr knows he is going to die, knows there are enemies, but goes to the battlefield anyway, without fear of death because he loves God and he knows God will smile on him.”

The attack begins at dawn. Hundreds of Abu Sa’ad’s men are walking through the bush. They begin firing. When they start receiving return fire, they do not change pace or even look for cover. They keep walking almost casually into the fusillade. Bullets whistle over the cameraman’s head. “Allahu Akbar!” (God is the greatest) he shouts, over and over. “Allahu Akbar!”

All around him, fighters are being cut down. Ten make it to the base fence and take cover behind a toilet block. The cameraman films one shouting back at his comrades. “Stop firing from behind,” the man yells. “You’re hitting us.”

Suddenly the camera goes down on its side. “They’ve killed me,” says a voice.

The general whistles. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” he says. “Just walking into death.”..............continue reading

"Nigeria has a president but not a leader".

Sagay has always been consistent in his view even though I have had reasons in the past to disagree with him.
One thing you cannot deny is that he is a brilliant member of the law profession.
What I still find hard to believe is that why does obj gravitate towards clueless retardz like Shagari ,yaradua ,jonathan ,turaki and not intelligent people like sagay ,El rufai, pat utomi etc.
While being intelligent does not guarantee performance,at least you are guaranteed the ability to identify problems.
I have said it in the past and I will say it again. The salvation of Nigeria lies in the hands of a few good men deciding to do the right thing and not the person, the citizen decide to vote for.
Nigerians have continuously shown that they are incapable of making informed choices .

The problem with the public sector is that if left unchecked ,rather than serve the people ,it starts serving itself
The Nigerian public sector is corrupt and useless as the politicians themselves.when universitity professor can even dare to blackmail obj to pay them 70% of the country's budget ,then you know there is no future from those professors in our university to the do-nothings who spend all their working time trading.
They demand American salaries but give Somalia service .

Fayemi got punished for attempting to carry out reforms in education
Oshiomole backed down because the citizenry who were suppose to benefit (the people ) were either clueless or just plain disinterested

It is high time the entire public sector is dismantled and reconstituted

So, who are the beneficiary of your houses, if the average Lagosians cannot afford it huh

Debt is not a bad thing in itself but it is what you use that debt for.
Unfortunately, this is nothing but a white elephant considering the poverty and lack of access to basic education and essential public services in that dysfunctional state.
Most especially for a state which is under control the president and co-president(his wife).
This gives you a window into how the country is being run at the centre .
They repaint airports for billions while electricity is what is badly needed.
They let the road leading to the country's principal port and where they are raking in trillion rot, while they build a whit elephant millennium towers.

PoliticsThe Ricesification Of Ekiti And Amalarisation Of Nigerian Politics by oduastates(op): 8:53pm On Jul 09, 2014
For those who do not understand the concept/definition of Amala politics.

Amala politics is the art of patronising a group of people, usually the poor ,the illiterate and clueless literates under the guise of charity ,friendship and comradeship in order to derive a benefit later.
This benefit usually comes in form of the collective voting strength of those poor souls for whom , votes only mean a meal ticket or the deluded thoughts of membership in the inner sanctum of Amala godfather's family.
Like a drug dealer, the Amala godfather gives about enough to keep his addicts coming back for more, while he defiles their daughter ,steal their collective futures and impoverish their present
Unlike most ,I am definitely not surprised by the outcome of the elections after being a close observer of the the elections which made fayose governor in 1999.
The guy is definitely a retail Amala politician and drama queen who knows how to go through the motions of being caring and simple.
However any right thinking and decent person who wants the country do well would have developed a nauseous feeling like I did when I stumbled accidentally on a typical fayose's political gathering .
To cut the story short ,most of those gathered were members of the class above and were there for instant gratification (whatever was available for sharing)and many waited for hours just get something .I left the vicinity (ajilosun) a few minutes later out of revulsion.
I have to say that it is the same neasous feeling I get whether it is PDP ,APC,ACN ,LP ,DPP types .
But this one was repulsive to a critical level.
It was done in the open without shame.

Back to the process
I am a very sensitive person so I do try to take in a lot of information for parsing later.I have come to conclude that the entire country is under the spell of Amala politics.
From the north to the south, from east to the west. The Amala godfathers are using the poor ,illiterate and the clueless literates to retain a stranglehold on the country.(if you doubt it,on Election Day,ask a sample of people the reason for their choices ).
All the politician deliberately patronise these people not because they want to get them out of their situation but because ,apart from their votes, they are incapable of asking critical questions.Who wants one philosophy graduate when you can get 10 okada riders or an Aribisala who are ready to fight or sell their souls?
Who needs a graduate of geography as a corporal ,in the army ,and who can plot on a sheet of paper ,the direction to Sambisa when you can get an uncultured ,semi-literate zombie villager ?
Who needs a competent police force if they cannot be used to carrying handbags and rigging elections.
The point I am making here is that all these are deliberate policies of using the poor ,the illiterates and the clueless literates to keep others in check.
Like fela said," ZOMBIE NO GO MOVE UNLESS YOU TELL AM TO MOVE".
The politicians do not want you, they want the zombies .They do not want the people who will ask the difficult question within the process .Unfortunately it is at a great cost to everybody .
WILL A PARTY OF THOUGHTS ,KNOWLEDGE AND IDEAS EVER COME TO THESE SHORES.WILL THE PEOPLE EVER ALLOW SUCH?

Yoritshekiri: So what did Fayemi do for his people apart from building a government lodge for himself?
Name them.
Remember all the talk was about how Fayemi concenterated on real infrastructure?
We want names now.
Ekiti people are not fools, I believe.
Man I know this town more than even many ekitis who have never even step into that state in their life. Ado ekiti was like a farming settlement. In fact ikere would have made better capital cities at that time. From Ajilosun to poly junction, goats ,pigs chicken and ram used to with human being for right of way. The road (federal ) leading to ako ekiti turned from being a bad road to a gully erosion in those days. I am not from ekiti but I have been going to that town since I was a kid .The best part of town used to be on the road leading to state university. This was essentially a dead place.nothing to do but shag poly and Uni girls in their rented untainted room me , I room you.
Now , ado is beginning to look a place of power and administration with some of the conveniences of modern life. Also, the road leading into the hinterlands are no more dirt roads . This is what brings development.
Now , you are asking me what he did?
There used to be a thread on ekiti before nairaland crashed but I will not dwell on that.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan's PR Offensive Backfires In Nigeria And Abroad by oduastates: 12:23am On Jul 09, 2014
Yoritshekiri: I can't believe people are buying this Fayemi crap APC sold as an excuse to their failure.
The truth is that Fayemi did nothing both in terms of stomach infrastructure and real infrastructure, I don't believe Ekiti people are fools to vote out a performing governor.
Take Rivers for an example, when Odili was governor, he was moving from place to place giving widows rice, money, giving traditional rulers new cars every year, giving youths hefty cash to share amongst themselves, he did little in terms of infrastructure but at least he was distributing money around and his people loved him for that and voted him in for a second tenure.
Amaechi came in and stopped the distribution of money and food, the traditional rulers wanted to complain when they saw that they were no longer being given cars every year but they quickly noticed that the roads to their kingdoms were getting better and better and they no longer needed to change their cars every year, the widows wanted to complain of not receiving cahs and foodstuffs anymore but they observed that they were sending their children to standard government schools with world class facilities free of charge, with even uniforms and books paid for by the government, they realised that they could take their kids to a nearby government clinic and get proper health care free of charge, so they shut up. The youths wanted to complain about lack of cash handouts but they noticed that they were getting jobs because of the improved security and infrastructure in the state which attracted more investments and they could fend for themselves. They all ended up voting Amaechi overwhemingly for a second tenure.
Those are cases of the 2 type of infrastructures we have in Nigeria today, the people responded positively to both.
Fayemi did NOTHING in Ekiti, I dare anyone to prove me wrong!
You are comparing ekiti to river state.A state with a monthly allocation less than amaechi's jet. River state has the pleasure of deciding what she wants to spend money on, Ekiti doesn't .you either do last century's programs or you tailor your economy toward the Economy of the future.
For instance , stomach infrastructure has turned delta state into a place that river state is totally owning.port harcourt used to be a village when compared to warri. In fact , Sapele used to be a boom town.you can be sure it will be totally found out once the oil runs out.Lagos would have totally lost out to Accra or even Cotonou if not for the revenue drive of tinubu /fashola.
