Too many clowns in high places. If I want to run a country that way, I would rather resurrect the traditional system of governance. |
Too many clowns in high places. |
This is no Street. More like an alleyway. You can tell from the pix that those 2 fences have land grabbed from what was suppose to be a normal Street Road (Lack of planning ). This has obviously given the baale the opportunity to perform his own magic. |
Apart from amaechi, all the other Niger delta governors are blackhead. Amaechi was the only one who invested in his state's strengths as the oil and gas capital of the country. States like Akwa ibom, delta and bayelsa should be investing in agriculture ( most of the people are farmers or fishermen ) and the oil and gas value chain e.g Petrolchemical, refineries etc. There is a local supply shortfall in these sectors. They have the money and they have the comparative advantage. Edo and cross river are piss poor states so they are excluded. |
deji68:Which power plant did Jonathan build? Name them. |
Ministers are political officers. They are suppose to be the voice, hand and the eyes of a president, so as to get his policies accomplished. Permanent secretaries and directors are the executors of those policies. However in Nigeria, everything is upside down. |
Na business? We will get to these clowns later after taking down the big fish. The Nigerian constitution in our sight |
Some people will have heart attack. Nigeria's salvation lies not in the hands of the masses, but in the hands of a few good men ( elites ) who decide to do the right thing before it is too late. Are they the ones? Only time will tell. Amaechi and tinubu flew into kano last year to make sure the right king(sanusi ) for the times was installed. Only men who know how to build bridges are allowed into the king makers court. My hope is that sanusi will drops his turban and the garb of religion which he needed for the throne,in to run for political office. We need the best in all places along the corridors of power |
Corruption and incompetence |
What did he do with the one generated under him |
sben2308:Keep measuring your coat with lagos Lagos is progressing. |
May Jonathan and Iweala not befall you, your family and your country again in your God's name. |
Building churches all over the place like profit making corporation while poverty and hopelessness surrounds them. How about building schools, hospitals and orphanages for the poor like the Catholics, Anglicans, Methodists they overthrew with that born again crap. |
Xyg12:Take your infantile and illogical arguments elsewhere. What correlation does terrorism have to do with following due process, transparency and accountability? Her job is not to supervise the states. Her job is to keep hold of the purse and not nicking money from it. Intellectual ko, celebration ni. I can count the number of intellectuals in Nigeria with my 10 fingers. (Pius utomi, wole soyinka, Itse sagay, El rufai, pius adesanmi, Sonala Olumhense ) A so called intellectual who runs away from debates. Definition of an intellectual. An intellectual is a man or woman who engages in critical study, thought, and reflection about the reality of society, and proposes solutions for the normative problems of society, and by such discourse in the public sphere gains authority from public opinion. Iweala and critical thoughts? That woman might as well be living in an alternate universe with all the statistical lies emanating from her ministry and mouth. Maybe she is an intellectual amongst your peers but iweala lacks weight in the space of ideas. |
Repayments for the years of the locust. THe price being paid mismanagement for mismanagement . Oil boom, no benefit, improvements or savings. The naira would have to be allowed to float (devalued) or Nigerian would have to curb their taste for imported goods and luxuries. |
Indisputable. However oloyede is not saying the whole truth. Many of them were corrupted by Jonathan. |
even as an an agnostic person I say this prayer to those who want it May God not let Iweala and Jonathan befall any of you or your country . Kilode. |
Skillbobralph:What has that got to do with topic? Take the next turning jare |
Good. next, take the NDDC and start Downsizing . Scrap that Niger delta ministry which is doing nothing but paying salaries and building latrines. You need no more than 50 people (46 developmental experts and 4 secretaries ) to run the NDDC. Money which ought to be going to build bridges, roads, water works and homes is being used to pay salaries to unproductive staffs. |
Excellent in theory but in practice, the corruption will move from NNPC to another place. Places Like revenue generating agencies and the new companies will start receiving NNPC visitors . No doubt NNPC has got to go. I will go further to take back all oil blocks from Nigerians apart from the ones the majors ( marginal fields ) are not interested in exploiting. Like I said before, let them go and build biscuit factories if they are that good a businessman. For me,the only solution is to prevent clowns like Jonathan from ever getting close to power and neo-liberal fakes like Iweala from ever getting appointments. |

Can we make Lai mohammed the minister of economy ;the defacto prime minister. This is because, his arguments, even when they are partisan or disputable have more intellectual heft and are far more convincing than what this so called ivy league educated expert has to offer. A well groomed intellectual would not obey an order which is obviously corrupt and illegal. |
Can we make Lai mohammed the minister of economy ;the defacto prime minister? This is because, his arguments, even when they are partisan or disputable have more intellectual heft and are far more convincing than what this so called ivy league educated expert has to offer. A well groomed intellectual would not obey an order which is obviously corrupt and illegal. Also,he does not start his arguments with insult. All politicians lie or at least, bend the truth . Most of the Nigerian politicians are corrupt. However, their corruption, cluelessness, dictatorial tendencies, brutality, varies from critical to non severe. They told her to perform an illegality. Does the phrase " Resigning with your dignity intact" exist in her dictionary. This is what a true professional would do. |
Hopefully they will do the right thing and start turning the military into a knowledge based one rather than what we have now. Go into the universities ,compete with the private sector poach the best students. |
Baba slow poison |
neocortex:I am not going to go hard on you this time. I will only go easy. Does the money from NLG have special tribal marks to differentiate it from money appropriated for the budget? Where does the constitution say such money to go? Answer : Federation account Can you tell us the difference between the money being spent, the budget and the state share of the money? Is the money a special unexpected income or money which ought to have been declared and put in the federation account for sharing? To further put your hero jonah in trouble, the states have the right to sue the presidency in order to reveal what they did with the money for 5 years. Meanwhile fayose and mimiko are technically right about the money representing what they expect as normal allocation. The bailout element involves debt restructuring, special religion funds which can be drawn by the states |
Mogidi:Like what? Examples please. |
SHAMHOOD:What is galling the most is that there is an appalling lack of intelligence, not an ounce of it, within the party. They make a mockery of intelligence and abhor decorum. |
Many of you would have scientist, inventors or fully employed professional if the country's money had been spent right and not wasted on luxuries like Abuja. Abuja is a parasitic city. We were wasting money on this soulless capital when the south Korean, Indians, Indonesian, Malaysians, Singaporean were investing in power plants, petrochemical, plants, refineries, plantations, steel mills, education, research hubs etc Singapore and Taiwan started investing in micro conductors research less than 20 years. Today, they manufacture most of the chips, storage drives and other hardware in your computer, phones and other high tech equipment The OP even dared to compare Abuja with lagos even though it is essentially a welfare capital city. Makes nothing and contributes nothing but eats too much of the resources which can be spent on pressing problems. Go online and read a out camberra Australia and Brasilia,Brazil. They are 2 capitals built from scratch but built to support a country and not become a welfare Queen consuming so much of the country's resources. Maybe if the tap of free oil money from the Niger delta and taxes from lagos are turned off, maybe and just maybe you will come back here to regal us of those "American" roads in Abuja. By the way, most people around the world have never heard of or care about Abuja. most developmental economist ( Nigerians and foreigners alike will also tell you that it is a monument to our wasteful culture. For all the money spent, it remains a tasteless and ugly place. |
Jonathan, Iweala and a sea of red ink. Corruption and stealing everywhere you look. Obasanjo is a stupidd for saddling the country with that man. Anyone who pays a close attention to what is happening once you cross that river will tell you that, the good folks have already left. What Jonathan did in Abuja is exactly what they are doing in the Niger delta. Arming militants Planting bombs Stealing Robbing the masses of their future Sharing money Manufacturing misery. You will hard pressed to find one local politician with any redeeming quality. |
alaoeri:Mr "Nigerians are not poor because of private jets" Jonathan and Iweala wanted to privatise the inland waters way ( river ). You can Google it. |
M4gunners:Are you a constitutional lawyer? You are actually the one who cannot think. Most of you just lack basic civic education. Many of you think guys think money is waiting in the bank. Just approve the budget and withdraw it from the bank. In Nigeria,The budget is approved and spent as the revenues are raised over the course of a tax year. Did the assembly approve a budget for 2015 or not? |
