PoliticsRe: South East Co-operatives To Float Regional Bank With N10 Billion Capital by oduastates: 1:47pm On Aug 03, 2015
HungerBAD:
This bank will die a natural death.

WEMA Bank survived in the West, because those managing the bank's affair have been doing a good job approaching business as a National Bank and not a Regional one.

Moreover, how can a bank be managed properly, when everybody comes from a region where everybody is very sensible?
Not it won't,
Not for those reasons you have given .
Any organisation will survive as long as it adapts to the times and it is run efficiently.
Even a bank in a small town will be profitable if it is well run .
It all goes back to the argument that the unitary federal government is more of an hindrance or liability than a facilitator.
For this bank to get approved , they would have to jump over numerous FG hoops ,headed by someone who probably cannot locate the state on a map .
This is why the country need to go back to 1960 .
3 regions, shrink the FG to pay for the poorer northern region. Further Organise within the regions based on ethnic make up of the regions, with all autonomous provinces getting derivation based on their contributions to the region .
After all , the FG will still be pocketing 50% of all the revenues.
PoliticsRe: Mob Attack DCO In Aba Over Killing Of Trader by oduastates:
AnambraDota:
The only thing is that people doesn't know the Aba mentality.
You can't intimate anybody in Aba and Aba residents detest seeing somebody being intimated, humiliated or ridiculed, this Aba spirit.

Just search for anybody that grew up in Aba or had lived there and ask how the people act.

Last two months they beat one army officer to the pulp, Aba guys are tough since history of Nigeria
Yeah right ,
Yet you had governors ruling the state for 16 years who practically ran down the state without opposition .
Not a whiff of protest
Tough.
Maybe tough for the wrong reasons.
Burning police stations ,who exactly is that going to affect.
PoliticsRe: Senator Bruce's Solution To Fulani/farmers Clashes In Nigeria - A Good Read by oduastates:
From which historical book is Bruce reading his crap?
Their movement down south is as recent as the 90's and this is as a result of drought brought about by climate change and wars and civil strife brought about by insecurity and religion.
Many of them are not even Nigerians.
Their route was through adamawa to Cameroon and from there , to Central Africa .
They should go and ranch their animals and buy animal feed like others . Milk production will pay for the cost of feeding .
The onus is on their leaders to educate them .
How come no such route exist in Ghana ,Ivory Coast etc
I will tell you why .
Because those countries have totally slam their borders shut because of their baggage .

PoliticsRe: Ogun State - Nigeria's Emerging Industrial Capital by oduastates: 12:12pm On Aug 02, 2015
I cannot wait for Nigeria to break up. We have all we need to forge a great country.
The free spending consumers
Intelligent and well educated citizens
Hardworking and skilled artisans
Beautiful land for tourism
A liberal and enlightened society
A rich history
Yoruba religion and pilgrimages

The federal government is removing over N2 trillion from Lagos and giving 96 billion back .
They are probably removing as much from ogun . I doubt ogun is collecting royalties or derivation from the mining
No disrespect,Most of the insecurity and crime we are suffering is caused by outsiders
Many of our people are impoverished because we have to share what we have created with others.
Let the others go and share the oil but free us

So obvious .
in spite of the ego boosting falsehood( figures )churned out by Iweala.
Poverty and the availability of opportunities have a direct correlation to crime , social spending ( education and health),stability ,cost of living , standard of governance.

Awo probably knew Nigeria this country inside out . He probably knew katsina better than Buhari .
Sorry , Buhari no reach .
I can see where this writer is coming from but Buhari has not even started yet .
Having good intentions does not equal performance .
Until then ,fingers crossed .
They should go back to his federal state solution along ethnic grouping

This is what federal presence looks like in the SW.
From national stadium ,national art theatre, federal roads all the way to the road leading to the ports from the which the federal government carts away over 1.5 trillion naira annually, the region is being strangled to cater for unviable States without putting anything back.

The woman is PDP and a ijaw royal. She is better placed than most to speak on behalf of her people
Family member to the late Harry marshal
We are beginning to hear the voices of the decent majority whose voices have been drowned out by thugs , criminal ,touts and men of loose morals.
I can listen to her ( just like itse sagay) all day long
The woman is well groomed and educated . You need to check out her command of the English language ( which is intimidating to some people ) , her grasp of the issues and her communication skills .

this woman said that Jonathan was the unintended and undeserving recipient of the struggle of the people.
she is right.

owobokiri:
4 × 4 are nothing but pratical realities of developing economies. China, .india etc have them. Moreover they fit without scrupples, into the behavorial pattern of an average African. That's why they thrived even when you were flexing at kingsway and co. So your petty jealousy can't wish them away just as buharis vindictive policies will surely bite but won't make much dent. Most middle class downwards will still patronise them for obvious reasons and what's more? Deu to Jonathans liberalising policies, most Nigerians that accessed the exploding middle class under Jonathan were/are from the informal sector. Most of those, traders! Getting rid of them as you seem determined to do should be a generational quest! Unfortunately for you, your ideologically challenged ApC/buhari lack both the intellectual gravitas and organisational finesse to ruthlessly prosecute such lunatic policies that border on 'sophisticated' idiocy. . . Put bluntly; you will contineu to sulk while igbo traders grow, till the day you kick the bucket. Pēlèé
As living standard rises , shopping habit changes. Global retailers will pour in to take advantage of new realities . The competition kills off to hose who fail to adapt.

PoliticsRe: Ambode Welcomes Walmart, Seeks Firm’s Support On Job Creation - Punch by oduastates:
Sorry we are turning back the hands of the clock . Right back to the western region .
apart from those who wants to continue living in that vicious cycle with the accompanying poverty economy ,Second hand and inferior goods.
While growing up ,

I got my shoes from Bata
Mom shopped at leventis
Treated us to delicious snacks at kingsway
Bought books from Macmillans , Evan , abiola bookshop
Bought drugs from May and baker
And all sorts of departmental stores

About the only thing you bought from the markets were fresh food like catfish. Fresh milk ,straight from England was even available in some stores

And we were like every other middle class family around .

1 Walmart will create jobs for local youth
2 pay more taxes by shrinking the informal economy
3 source products directly from manufacturer and cutting out the numerous middlemen .
4 cheaper .
5Raise the profile of the southwest even more
6 farmers will benefit from direct relationships
7 Hopefully stop all those rural / urban migration of unskilled people and farmers .
8 Nigerian manufacturers with good products will have a platform to them on the shelves in other countries.

If Buhari gets it right and the economy kicks into gear , then 4x 4 are sitting ducks .

PoliticsRe: EFCC Quizzing Former Enugu Gov. Chime's Chief Of Staff, Ifeoma Nwobodo by oduastates: 7:54pm On Jul 30, 2015
By global standard ,almost all Nigerian politician are corrupt. But like I have said before , the degree of corruption varies from critical and severe to moderate and mild .
While the corruption of some can be regarded as a conflict of interest ( e.g giving a contract to your family, friend and business associates who actually executes the contracts satisfactorily within budget).
The other end of the spectrum is outright stealing.

I can stand those at the top but the one at the button deserve to be lined up against a wall and shot.

What are people like Otedola, Dangote, adenuga, Jim Ovia, elumelu, dantata, etc looking....why cnt dey also invest in this type of supermarketshuh
Because they are all rent seekers
PoliticsRe: PHOTO: President Of World Biggest Retailer, walmart Visits Gov. Ambode by oduastates:
About time .about time Nigeria especially the SW tapped into the local value chain by ensuring that what can be produced in Nigeria is produced in Nigeria.
Apart from removing the numerous middlemen who provide no value in the chain, it also ensures that local Jobs are available for local youths .
Why does a Nigerian have to pay more than an American or Britfor goods of inferior quality , bought from the same place
