Bros, believe me I feel every bit of your pain. I'm only hoping that the Ijaws have changed for sure, because we won't be anyone's fall guy again in Nigeria.

All these have the handwritings of Amb Ralph Uwechue. I suspect he/Ohanaeze and Ijaw National Council reached some kind of agreement.
The man is working hard behind the scenes. So, I hope they know a lot more than we do.

My brother let us tell ourself the truth. A Jonathan presidency has nothing to offer Ndigbo. When you  look at the political antecedants of those who are pushing for Jonathan's presidency in the East, you would notice that they are on a familiar terrain.
Look at Iwuanyawu, Authur Nzeribe etcetera, they are now trumpeting for Jonathan. These political jobbers were also the same people that worked assidously for Obasanjo's Third Term Campaign. How can an Igbo man who wants Obasanjo to rule for life be speaking for Ndigbo?

I am igbo and i am supporting GEJ. . .for how long will the north continue to divide and rule us?

u think 5 igbo states can do anything without solid alliances
. . .u are dreaming. .

right now GEJ has solid south south, south east and middle belt support. . .

once he wins he knows who gave him the presidency and we will be in a better position to get powerful ministerial portfolios
perhaps tell him to include N100billion for the new Niger bridge in next yrs budget, which will be prepared in september this yr. . .

we gotta learn how to play politics

Dude, it is obvious that you are a tenderfoot in Nigeria politics. How can an alliance with South-South that doesn't have the population help the Igbos to achieve their presidential ambitiion?

Also you blathered on about ministerial portfolios, while forgetting that a ministerial post is a mere political appointment that takes directive from the presidency. Also may I remind you that there is nothing like a powerful ministerial portfolio in Nigeria. Have you forgetten how Aguiyi Ironsi's son spent less than one year as Defence Minister.

Infact, Igbos do not even need any negotiation with Jonathan because he can disregard any agreement immediately he is declared the winner of presidential election in 2011, and nothing would happen.

The latest joke now is that Jonathan will hand over to an Igbo man in 2015 or 2019 . . LWKMD That means Sambo has wasted his time being a loyal vice president.

from your statements above you are obviously not an igboman.ojukwu is never the leader of igbos.each town only identifies their leader and it stops at that.he can be reffered to as ''influential''.

What is the difference between being a leader and being influential, especially when we talk about politics and power?

if the ikemba is the only igbo man that can garner votes, why is APGA not in carge of the 5 eastern states. . instead of being in charge of only one?. . .

why did orji decamp to PDP,instead of APGA?. . .

I dont know the planet you live . . .  Even the blind, deaf and dumb know that APGA has been winning gubernatorial elections in the East with a landslide. When you look at their election tribunal judgements, you would notice that APGA lost most of their cases based on technical grounds. Infact, Anambra state APGA was lucky to succeed because of the deep political bickering in Anambra PDP chapter.
Politics / Re: South-East Leaders Endorse Jonathan For 2011 by Ofemmanu: 2:23am On Aug 17, 2010
hahahahahahaha . . The so called Igbo leaders meeting was a blatant joke. It was really an insult to the intelligence of everyday Igbos who are pretty much aware the this gathering of some old discredited Igbo politicians like Iwuanyawu was a meeting of GEJ PDP Camp members. Non of these fake Igbo politicians that attended the meeting can garner a winning vote in their respective wards. The fact remains that majority of Igbos, not the diasporean internet worriors, will not vote for an Ijaw man in the person of Goodluck Jonathan whose godfathers are E. Clark and OBJ, even if he changes his middle name to Ebere Azikiwe.

It is also noteworthy to write that the only Igbo man who can garner votes for anybody is Odumegwu Ojukwu. He is the true Igbo leader and his support is the one that matters most ; hence, any Igbo meeting without Ojukwu is a mere charade and futile exercise.

Also, can someone post the full roster of the so called Igbo leaders that attended the meeting. How can a summit that was not attended by the creme de la creme of Igbo politics be taken serious.

@IZONMAN

I think you, Jonathan and Edwin clark are the ones who are becoming desperate. After all the ignominious sabotage roles you guys have played in the politics of Southern Nigeria, you guys are now desperately seeking the votes of Ndigbo.

I guess after you had read the post written by Ebuka in today's Vanguard, you sketched the below bold faced drivel, and then ran over to this forum to covet the vote of the same Igbos whom you  threw invectives at.

blueflame1:

Nobody really cares if the Igbos leave Nigeria, as long as they leave alone.

The truth is that their earlier attempt to leave Nigeria in 1966 was driven by their greed after loosing power due to what they started: the January 1966 coup in which Northern Dignitaries where assassinated while Igbo dignitaries where all spared, Azikiwe was the Governor General and in all accounts the Head of the Nigerian state, he was spared, Agu Ironsi was the head of the Nigerian Military, he was spared.

A coup which by default took over power from the political class and handed it over to an Igbo man; Agu Ironsi. Who proceeded to turn a Regional system (4 regions) into a unitary state in-order to consolidate power with the Igbos. It may also be worthy to note that Ojukwu was appointed the Governor of Northern Nigeria based in Kano under the Agu Ironsi Regime.

During the Igbo planned secession which was only after a counter coup took power away from them, if the Igbos had decided to leave alone they would have had their Biafra peacefully, but they chose to greedily drag the Niger delta region along with them without their consultation and consent. Even though they were treated as third class citizens with much discrimination while they were part of Eastern Nigeria.

I am tired of reading about Igbo's complaining and distorting history on every forum; the problem of the Igbo is the Igbo and their greed and calousness

If you r educated and rely on facts, u would have noticed that the facts herein r irrefutable. Public records still show who held what position, those responsible for the coup, the punishment and benefits they gained after the coup, who held what position etc.

race open for any party member to contest.

You are the one doing that. Indications are that what Jonathan is attempting to do is highly unpopular like OBJ's third term project . Those who are genuinely detribalised and face reality will accept this . Positing that Jonathan "will be President from 2011 to 2015 and probably beyond!" is highly simplistic and parochial . Are you from the ND region? I ask because it seems as if it is only folks from that region that blindly support Jonathan currently while totally ignoring and failing to comment on the many highly questionable actions of Jonathan in his quest to achieve a divisive and opportunistic project.
You are always right, this man named Jonathan has nothing to offer Nigerians. The period I came to my conclusion was when he forced Ogbulafor out of office on corruption allegations, and then went ahead to replace Ogbulafor with Okwesilieze Nwodo whose National ID card scam case is still in the ICPC files. With Nwodo's case still chilling in the ICPC freezer, Jonathan and OBJ can now use it to control him like a remote.

Everybody will have someone to back in this election

The fact is everyone will have a reason to back any candidate and just like folks can accuse IBB supporters as bribe takers those who do not support Jonathan can also choose to accuse Jonathan Goodluck supporters as money hungry and bribe takers who choose to ignore merit and support every Government in power.

I do not support IBB or Jonathan and can not hold brief for either but let us all agree that there is no righteous candidate in this election in which if you support a particular candidate you are supporting a righteous cause and then everyone else who hold a contrary view are sinners. That is simply not DEMOCRACY and was never the intent of the founders of democracy.

For me at our 50th year we should be making a clean break from the past and should not be talking about 70 year old men who ruled the country 30years ago as Military dictators. For this reason I rule out IBB, Buhari, Atiku and folks like him. For Jonathan I do not believe he is up to the job, I also believe that he will be a lameduck President who will lack the political skill to accomplish anything as he is desciple of the status quo. He does not represent the true Leadership or Change Candidate we should seek.
However I also understand that while I seek change there are also those who have every right to assess for themselves whether the other candidates serves their aspirations more. So just like anyone can accuse Ojukwu of collecting money to support who he supports we can in the same vein conclude that the accusers support their own candidate because they have also collected money.
Its democracy and no one has the right to pontificate for others.

Perfect analysis!! . . . . O bu nna gi muru gi.

Let me tell you, as an elder statesman, Ojukwu was expected to show kindness to the group of elders that paid him a courtesy visit.Anything other than that would be a breach of protocol.

Thanks for the insult. You can predict your Ojukwu, i am unpredictable to you at least at the moment. I am standing for my right, if your family's voting right is with Ojukwu, mine is not, i am and should be in charge of my affairs, its my responsibility to be responsible for myself and mine; that's all that qualifies one as a stakeholder, i prize that very high unlike inconsiderate vote peddlers like you sir.

Dude, the truth is that your unpredicability means that you will always remain inconsequential in the grand scheme of politics .
