Here is a link to the IHS calculator. you can provide your details here to have an idea of the projected cost. You will see the actual cost when you are eventually applying for your visa. It would not be radically different from this.

There should be no negative impact if your submission of the documents is towards the receipt of your CAS. The important part is you need to do the maths as already explained for whosoever is reviewing so they know what to confirm. As this is going to your school, just use the body of the email to do this.

Didiama1:

Thanks for this information, although the POF is for my school, just waiting for both account to mature so I can apply for Cas. My question is, since it's not for visa application I hope this won't lead to Cas denial or do I need do anything extra before submitting the POF to my school? Thanks

If this is the only area of your application you would like to draw the attention of the ECO to, you can also just use the additional/extra information section on the Visa application itself. my suggestion would be to simplify it by doing the maths by providing the outstanding financing requirement and then show the distribution of the requirement per account you are presenting so the ECO knows exactly what to verify.

Didiama1:
Good evening all, please house
is it possible to use two accounts for pof? One is a domiciliary account and the other is a normal account, different banks though, a swift response will be highly appreciated

If you are presenting employment history as the documentation for your 6 year study gap, i think the most important thing is if the employment history you are presenting shows a progression over the 6 year period. A trainee is an entry level position so if you are including other documents that show that you have moved to other roles during the intervening period and also shows what your present role is i do not see why the salary information on your trainee employment letter should stand out.

Saltome:
Please, I need help, I have a study gap of 6 years but I also I have an employment letter for trainee for 1 year that states 60k as salary. Please should I add it as part of my study gap or is that a red flag.

just to clarify that you are saying your reason for applying to this particular school and for this particular programme is because you will be unable to provide your degree certificate? There may be other considerations which may have gone into the decision making process that you didn't mention. However, if this is the key consideration, then you may be short changing yourself.

If you have an undergraduate degree and your degree classification is within the first class to a second class lower bracket then you are over qualified for the Bachelors top-up programme. In your case, If the senate of your institution has met and approved that you have completed your programme and approved your degree classification, you may wish to apply to a number of institutions in your course of interest at Masters level and proactively discuss the present concerns with retrieving your certificate. You may be pleasantly surprised this may not be a deal breaker for some schools and your statement/notification of result may suffice for an unconditional offer or a reference letter confirming that your certificate is awaiting issuance.

UK Schools attend exhibitions in Nigeria from time to time. You may consider attending these and explore the offerings on display and also have these conversation face to face so it can also enable your decision making.

Hello my people
Sorry I applied to uws(university of west Scotland) for bachelor top up with the hope that they’ll only request for just my official transcript when the conditional offer comes in but now they’re asking for my bachelor degree certificate and my school is convocation is next year September because I just finished this year

That’s why I didn’t even applied for masters straight because my bachelor degree isn’t available yet

I only have my transcript available

What do you think I can do to this case
Please your opinion is highly needed my people

UKVI confirms exchange rate from OANDA. Applicable rate will be the rate from the day you submit your application.

An affidavit is your best bet. However, i am just curious as to why you have the same error repeated on both your WAEC and your degree transcript? if 2nd of March is your correct date of birth as reflected on your birth certificate asides an affidavit, i also suggest you attempt to regularize your records with all parties so you have limited instances where you continue to explain disparities in records.

AYO95:
Hi, all.
I just applied to Ulster university for May Intake, but I have issue with my d.o.b. On my waec I have 3rd of March instead of 2nd March, Same on my degree transcript. But 2nd of March is what I have on my international passport which is the valid one.

Please can there be any issue on this?
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by offwego: 12:36pm On Sep 21, 2022
As a standard, requests for renewals can be submitted 6 months before expiration of the existing passport. These steps you are proposing are quite extreme for common sense.

myhero:

I can not renew your passport as long as it's not yet expired even if it's remaining one day to expire.if u really need a new passport, common sense is to go to any police station and get a report certificate on missing international passport (about 10k),with the police report, u go straight to court and swear affidavit. With the police stuff and ya affidavit, u go to immigration and apply for lost passport.. I will advice u to go to immigration headquarters at Abuja. Within 2 weeks, u will get new passport

Wrong advice bro.

With relevant experience in your proposed field, HND and Third class holders get admission easily. This has been demonstrated in this forum repeatedly. So many schools in UK accept HND and Third Class.

HND and Third class holders in this forum have gained admission in Roehampton University, Sheffield Hallam University, University of West England. Google the question and add nairaland for the full lists.

Those who don't get admission have no relevant experience with poorly written personal statement and recommendation letter.

offwego:
Two things for you to note

You would need to have additional qualifications by way of a PGD or significant work experience(depending on the programme you may need to show significant relevant work experience) to support your application with an HND.

Secondly, you will also need to be proactive in your application by making it stand out. Simply because institutions are receiving loads of applications globally for the same programme you are applying for from applicants who hold a Second Class degree and above. So you need to ensure you write a compelling personal statement that demonstrates how you meet the entry requirements for the programme you are applying for and provide relevant references.

whatever institutions you apply to at the end of the day, you need to give the admissions team a reason to have more than a glance at your application.

1. Can I apply for another course at Teeside, this time Msc in the same program I had B.Tech?

Yes you can. Receiving an offer of a place on a programme is significantly about demonstrating how you meet the specified entry requirements for the programme of interest.

Going forward, is it legal to apply to two different programs for the same school i.e 2 different applications and see which one succeeds

So it is not about being legal and the objective should not be to gamble because ultimately your chances of getting an offer does not improve because you have put in 2 applications. You can put in applications for different programmes in the same school if you can demonstrate that you meet the specified entry requirements for the different programmes.

Demonstrating that you meet the specified requirements for the different programmes means that each application must be distinct i.e tailored personal statement, tailored CV and maybe different references as well and additional relevant qualifications as required by each programme. 2 applications for different programmes in the same school seems to be a reasonable number. when they are more and in areas that are radically different from each other then it becomes more about the perception it gives to the admissions team of a lack of research and focus on your part.

Additionally are you updating your initial pitch, repositioning yourself or telling your story differently? if not, i do not see value in doing the exact same thing and expecting a different result.

can I go with my family as an undergraduate

I am afraid Not. Policy dictates.

I intend using waec though I’m an ND holder

By ND you mean HND or OND? You really can't get into a UK undergrad degree programme with just WAEC you would need either OND/HND or have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree Programme .

but I’m scared of traveling for transcript for security reason

I am not sure this is necessary except you are saying your institution doesn't have an online platform for processing this type of request.

I think this application may have had a fighting chance if there were some compelling evidence provided as regards suitable arrangements for the care of 3 children under 18 as your spouse would not be accompanying you amongst other things.

I am not sure you will benefit from an administrative review as it doesn't seem there was some evidence that was overlooked. It's best you reapply either with more compelling documentation or with your spouse

Greengage:
Good evening everyone! Please I need help as I am currently in a dilemma with UKVI issues.

@dduchess90, @justwise or anyone with advice on this issue please.

I moved with my spouse to another African country about 2 years ago after he got a better job offer here. We are blessed with 3 kids aged 8, 6 and 2. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a job here, (the country has a small economy), so I decided to switch careers to give myself a better chance of getting a good job.

I then applied for an MSc in the UK, and was able to secure admission, get my CAS and apply for my visa. We also applied for dependent visas for our kids but not for my husband, considering he has a good job which would also fund the expenses for myself and the kids. He also has a subsisting visit visa.

However, we received the notification email today that 2 of our kids' visas were denied dependent visas based on Paragraph ST34.2 of the Immigration rules and based on the following statement: " I am not satisfied that the required level of documentation has been shown in order to prove that your mother has sole responsibility. " We are yet to receive any information on the application of the 2 year old.

Please bear in mind that the supporting documents for the kids' visa applications were from both parents and we even indicated in their forms that we both have parental responsibility for the kids. I do not have sole responsibility for the kids, neither did I claim that in our applications. We also included details of my husband's job and the necessary documents pertaining to that.

In applying for the visas, we read all the requirements on the GOV.UK website but none of the information on the student visa/dependent partner of a student/ dependent child of a student mentions anything about this issue.

Now, we are at crossroads because based on this rule, the interpretation is that the other parent, who is not the main applicant must be willing to be a dependent, which would necessitate them living in the UK with the main applicant and the child dependent(s). This is not an option for us. Also, the kids cannot remain with my husband due to the nature of his job, as it requires a lot of travelling and we do not have any form of social/family support here, as all our family members live in different countries.

The only exception to this rule is subparagraph (C) of Paragraph ST34.2 of the Immigration rules which states that, "unless the decision maker is satisfied that there are serious and compelling reasons to grant the child entry clearance or permission to stay with the parent who
has permission on the Student route or as a dependent partner of a Student."

We do not know what to do next, whether to write to the Home Office directly, apply for an administrative review or reapply for the visa based of the provision in subparagraph (c) as we do not know if our situation constitutes serious and compelling reasons to grant the exception. So far, what I have read online depicts circumstances that are very different from ours.

Please, help a sister! I am trying to be a supportive wife, good mother and still want to build a life for myself. Please anyone with any advice/experience on how to tackle this issue. I would deeply appreciate it. May God bless our hustle!

You are totally right!

“Important - You must carry this certificate with you, in your hand luggage when you travel to the UK and present it to the immigration officer on arrival. Failure to do so will result in a delay to your journey as you may be required to undergo the tests again”

This advice as emphasized on the TB certificate is why this document should be handy when going through the immigration protocols.

There is a difference between a perceived right and the prerogative of the officers at Border Control. The latter may be asserted without question, and for the exercise of which there is no responsibility or accountability as to the fact and the manner of its exercise.

jsquares:
But I was boldly stated on the TB certificate envelp that you must hold it in your hand when travelling to the UK

Solatium:

Yes because you can't distinguish between your left and right, that is why immigration officer will ask you for TB cert.
Some of you don't know those are Pre departure conditions ( Conditions before Visa issuance) Once your Visa is issued it has nothing to do with them.
That is why you open your self to all sorts of exploitations

So what is clear from the scenario you have painted is there is a record of a recent visa application refusal with reasons provided irrespective of the confusion around whether the request to withdraw was successful or not, so you need to mention this refusal because it wasn't stated in your student visa application.

From the scenario, the reason why you are writing the letter is because there has been an update to your situation so the cover letter should be and it should read

“Cover letter -Addendum to Travel History(UK)”

You can go on to state in the 1st paragraph why you are writing the letter which is to update the ECO that you have recently received a refusal to the -----(state type of visa) UK visa application made on ------ date. State the purpose why you made the application e.g to attend the ------- conference which was to hold from ------ date to ------ date.

Secondly you state the date you received the refusal and quote the reasons provided for the refusal from the document received. You can then follow-up to highlight the reason why and actions you had taken to withdraw the application and the date prior to receiving the refusal notification.

Thirdly, you can state that the addendum has become necessary, as you had not highlighted this refusal when you completed your online student visa application as the refusal notification succeeded the completion of your student visa application. (you mentioned that you received the refusal yesterday and you had already submitted the online application)

You may wish to highlight for the Eco’s attention as you have mentioned here that you are a fully sponsored student and this is why you have not presented your personal bank statement with your application to demonstrate proof of funds (ideally, this could have been stated in the additional information section on the Visa form but it is still ok to state it here).

sainted:
For the student visa, I got a fully funded scholarship so i didn't put in any information regarding my bank statement. I have tuition and stipend.

So for the cover letter, I should write that I was refused a visitor's visa in the past right? But that i didn't mention it because a decision was made on my application yesterday.

Do I need to explain the issue with my finances even if I'm fully sponsored?

UK Institutions are battling with an unprecedented increase in both applications and deposit payments. to put it in context. Nigeria is at a 150% increase in the total pool of firm acceptances in comparison to this same time 2021. Just to be clear, firm acceptances being, accepted an offer of a place and paid a deposit.

So instances where you get sent these types of emails are sadly going to be commonplace.

You may need to check individual IELTS requirements for institutions offering your programme of interest if you intend to use this as your English Language qualification for admission as programmes have different IELTS minimum requirements.

Also, WAEC English Language grades A1-C6 is also accepted as an English Language qualification so you use your WAEC to also apply for admission.

Enrolment deadlines are in place to ensure that you are at the Institution for the beginning, or as close as possible to the beginning of teaching. so really, your institution will be in the best position to advise on their late arrival threshold as this differs for institutions. It's best to notify the institution asap and confirm if they can accept your arrival within the timeline you are seeking as you can be refused entry if you arrive after the latest arrival date specified on your CAS.

Firstly, getting an NSF mail is not a bad thing! It just means the ECO is not able to make a conclusive decision on your application on the strength of the available information/documentation, hence requires additional information/documentation. So there shouldn't be anything frightening or worrisome about it.

Secondly, if during the review of your application, the ECO believes that specific information covering your work experience between 2019-2021 is critical to making a decision on your application, then they will request for it. Until then, no need to press the worry button.
