worst, some of you are business owners and will devote the public face of this business to one politician who, because of the nature of politics, will at minimum offend 50% of your potential customers.
Politics / Young Men, Please Stop Publicly Attaching Yourself To Politicians by Ofodirinwa: 6:32pm On Mar 06
Some of you are aspiring to be politicians. Some of you are aspiring to be leaders in one capacity or another. Nwanne, please, don't do it by being the public support club or mouthpiece of a Nigerian politician. It has never worked for any living soul on God's green earth.

Best way to enter politics in Nigeria
Quietly. Quietly attend party meetings. Quietly introduce yourself to politicians by showing them what you can credibly deliver. When they needs boys to do campaigning (offline), canvassing, printing materials etc, make yourself available. Go above and beyond and show that you can reliably deliver something they need. If it's your ability to bring out a group to come and vote (women's meeting, students union etc).

If they say 'we need ten youths' and you bring 10 youths consistently. Your value increases. Make sure people know you're the one who did it too. If they say we need 100, and you bring 100 consistently, even more. If you can assure victory in your ward or local government or help in the assuring of the process, then you have begun your career. Because you have credibility

How NOT to enter politics
Going online and being the public supporter of one politician or another. Even if you brought them 1 million votes, they will never believe it was your online efforts. Then, you make enemies with everyone who doesn't support that politician. Then those who support the politician will eventually leave you because the politician, as a politician, will humilate you and betray whatever nonsense you are saying online in their favor. Nigerian politicians don't believe individuals online are responsible for their success or have an impact as most hyper-online youths don't vote and most elderly nigerian people don't understand the internet well.

All you are doing is killing the one thing you need to succeed as a young person, credibility.
Even if said governor is the greatest of all time, don't become a public mouth piece for anyone because you are giving them full control of the thing you need to succeed in life, your credibility.

When it's time to bring people to vote, if you have attached your credibility to someone who disgraced you in the end, nobody will listen to you. You can support and love politicians but it is a childish error to be their cheerleader online because you cannot edit the internet

I am close to the process, and I am also a business owner. I have terminated contract negotiations when I encounter these types of people because it tells me they will tie the credibility of my company to some mumu governor or president. I learned this lesson the hard way when I hired an unnecessarily avid Buhari mouthpiece. As Buhari panned out to be a failure, my clients who were aware of his online behavior brought it up and in that moment I felt stupid on behalf of the mumu. It is annoying to be struggling, have an idiot contribute to the struggle, then give your money to someone who uses their data to campaign unnecessarily for the idiot's fan club captain.

Nwanne, please, leave politics alone. You can be greater than politics. But if you tie your leg to these sinkships we call politicians you will drown prematurely. Many young men have wasted their credibility as human beings before even having a chance to live life.

What did you photograph that is new? because I can find an identical picture of the same place from 2013, 2015, 2020 etc

Politics / Re: Why Revolution Is Difficult In A Liberal Democracy by Ofodirinwa: 12:15am On Mar 06
Minsk24:
I have seen posts making the rounds about potential revolution in Nigeria, stemming from the new trend of looting grains....but what revolution are we really talking about?
In an autocracy, or an authoritarian democracy, revolution is easier to achieve because u have a particular ruling elite class, so the citizen's anger is directed towards a particular set of people, paving the way for an untested opposition to come to power if the revolution is successful...
But Nigeria is a liberal democracy, we do not have a particular set of ruling elites and an untested opposition, the apc members u see today can defect tomorrow, the PDP members u see today can defect tomorrow, we have a multi-party parliament, we have lots of states with opposition parties as governors...
We have elections, even tho not free and fair, but the ruling party and opposition both have machinery to rig elections.....
The ruling apc is voted into power by a large number of people, bothe in federal and state level, same with the opposition parties...
So if u talk of revolution in Nigeria, what does it mean if people take to the streets and say enough is enough, will the aim be to overthrow the tinubu administration? Even if he steps down, is it not the same APC that will take power? If APC is overthrown, PDP will come to power, same people, then APC members will defect to pdp, same cycle
Liberal Democracy is the best political system, its creates stability and it is very sustainable....

this is philosophically correct, but it's still possible. You just have to play within the system as opposed to taking it out by force, but ideological uniformed parties take over liberal democracies.

stability can be toxic. It is like stagnant water. While movements in history are painful and take a lot of sacrifice they're necessary for real progress.

What happened to Idi Amin and Uganda after that .

Met a few Ugandan Indians ,who run general convivence stores in Lambeth, London . They are very happy with Idi Amin decision, after this decision , they went to better countries and they are prospering .
Their children are in IT or finance .

Now Uganda is requesting them to come and invest in their country , just google .

To overcome the excess of any foreigners , the host country should have strong law and active enforcement to enforce the said laws .

Deportation or seizing foreigners assets in that country will contribute to countries decline , just ask Venezuela and Zimbabwe .

All these Deportation or seizing assets will feel poor people happy ,but ultimately backfire on these very own poor people .

having said that , Any Indian or Chinese investors or others investing in present day Nigeria are out there to oppress and overlord over the people ,while milking easy money .

Create a enabling environment like power ,Infrastructure in Nigeria , the best of them will come . Not the scambags or scammers like the Indian quoted in above article .

Was Idi Amin trying to curse their generations or get them out of his country? Sounds like everyone got what they wanted.

When Atiku or Shettima wins in 2031, you can continue giving the majority of political appointment to the North just as Buhari did.

What goes around comes around. Simple as ABC.

Igbos did not give him that name, it is his birth name. If you go to his hometown, you will realize you don't know the full story

Properties / Re: Why It Is UNFAIR To Castigate 'Brown Roof' Houses! by Ofodirinwa: 1:06am On Mar 03
this is an excuse. The british brought zinc to all of Nigeria. It's insulted because it shows a lack of willingness or ability to renovate. You can see that in the fact that all the windows are busted, and none of them have been painted since 1980. Though I think paint is optional, when the indigines of these places moves to Lagos, they paint their houses, so I know it's not a deliberate style choice.

Rusted zinc creates Zinc oxide and inhaling zinc oxide can make you sick. I bet if these towns changed their roof style 50% of their annual 'malaria' cases will disappear

I’m baffled that a big city like Onitsha hasn’t got even ONE skyscraper.

Is it a matter of state govt policy or regulation prohibiting more than say 5 storeys?

Is there even ONE building in Onitsha taller than 5 storeys?

I admit I’m not an expert on the city. I’m going by what I see posted online.

And the thing about a place like Onitsha is that once one person builds it, many others will follow.

Highly competitive place.

Make no mistake, having a good skyline shows seriousness as a business hub.

It’s a statement to investors, that this is a serious environment with people who know how to make money.

Based on the building code in Onitsha you cannot surpass 6 or 5 stories

You have started this your nonsense again, in the other thread, you’re busy insulting Soludo and ndi Anambra because of a hateful comments done by some envious souls on YouTube etc

Truth is, you guys are the problems of igboland, every minute you’re on Anambra page castigating Soludo and Anambra people when someone tries to counter it, you start shouting Igbo unity up and down

If you can’t make a constructive criticism about Soludo/Anambra people then is better you don’t comment atal, that yangalife tv has been behaving himself since we caution him, he will be making a video of an uncompleted projects and will be talking nonsense but will refuse to visit the site once it’s completed, dunno his motives concerning that and he’s from imo state

Most of Anambra YouTubers are fair in their reporting eg bessing$godwin, debbywin, Anambra diaries, of course tv and others. Watch yangalife and this other people to know the difference

So saying something about Soludo is an insult to Anambra? Now you're stuck sheepishly defending him because Anambra = Soludo?

Anyways I would not want to live like that. I've said what I wanted to say and won't go further as to not derail this thread more.

Politics / Re: Anambra People Are Regretting Voting For Soludo by Ofodirinwa: 3:49am On Mar 02
Malroux:
Only those who are from Anambra will understand what I'm saying. Soludo is a big let down to Ndi Anambra going by Anambra standard of governance minus Mbadinuju's administration. Since Soludo became governor, all he has been doing is promising Dubai Taiwan to the people of Anambra state without matching his words with action. Can Soludo point to any landmark or legacy project of his administration? I doubt so.

For the records, Every Anambra person know what Chris Ngige did for Anambra state despite all he went through in the hands of then president Obasanjo and Uba family. Ngige laid the foundation for Anambra's growth before he was booted out of the office by the court.

During Peter Obi's administration, he performed very well in security, education and health sectors. He constructed roads. He handed back public schools to the missionaries which Anambra people are still reaping the benefit till today. Obi constructed fences round the whole public schools in Anambra state. He bought generators and equipped the whole public and some private schools in Anambra with computers for the betterment of the students. He gave every school at least one bus for their convenience. He gave every vigilant group in all Anambra towns and villages at least one Innoson Hilux vehicle and also equipped them with modern weapons. Most vigilant groups in Anambra are still using the Hilux vehicles Obi gave them till today. I can go on and on but space won't permit me.

Then Willie Obiano came on board and continued from where Obi stopped in terms of development. Every Anambra person can still remember his initiative of "name any project you want" where he gave every town in Anambra forty million naira each for every town to build any project that they desire. Obiano constructed many new roads in Anambra state to the extent that Anambra was ranked the state that has the best road network in Nigeria after Abuja. You can google it. I don't need to mention the Anambra international conference center he built wich is still the best conference center in Nigeria, or the Anambra international airport, which are all his legacy projects.

Since Soludo became governor, he has promised many projects none which are yet to take off. The roads he is constructing are at snail speed despite him promising to finish them before rainy season starts. We are already in rainy season and none has been completed. We can still remember how after meeting with Emeka Offor, he promised Anambra people 24 hours electricity but today, Anambra is still in darkness. I won't talk about the MOU he signed with one construction company about building inter state railway that will connect Onitsha,Awka and Ekwulobia, we all knew he was joking then. The free education he gave to pupils of nursery/primary to Jss3 students is not entirely free, because teachers are still collecting money from students. The only area I'll give him a pass mark is in security. He is trying his best in that sector even though it is still not enough. Truth be told, Anambra people are regretting voting for Soludo and 2025 election is a judgement day for him and he might not win a second tenure if he continue like this.

I was insulted bitterly for saying Soludo is a charlatan and a career politician pretending to be an intellectual. All of the great Igbo intellectuals are is such high demand worldwide that if they're not in government they're in western or world organizations. But I personally noticed Soludo had no work outside of politics. Running from one party to another. Making psuedo intellectual statements about stuff that doesn't need thought.

Pat Utomi is the next one someone will make the god forsaken mistake of putting in office.
