At least detail how it is the best when compared to other states instead of all this 2027 Peter Obi campaign broadcast. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can use your exact words and insert any other state.

If Anambra is so great as you've espoused, why are people leaving there to migrate to other places, particularly a certain place not far from Cotonou? Why are Corpers not working their service there? Why is there no visible mass migration to the Anambra land of milk and honey especially during these times.

Can we also have a list of monies Anambra loaned to other states?

You never notice that when they move they have enough money to start several businesses at once? lol

Politics / Re: We Can't Fold Our Arms Again, Nigerians Are Dying - Sultan of Sokoto by Ofodirinwa: 11:19pm On Feb 14
Tinubu’s victory did not come as surprise: Sultan of Sokoto

President-General of the NSCIA and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, stated this in a congratulatory message to Mr Tinubu, issued by the council’s Deputy Secretary-General, Prof. Salisu Shehu, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Mr Abubakar said: “We have followed with keen interest his trajectory in the Nigerian political landscape.

“We can attest to his track records in public service, his decades of hard work, selflessness, sacrifice, unflagging commitment and dedication to the Nigerian project.

“And the excellent interpersonal relationships that he had built across the country over the years.

“He is a very experienced human and financial resources manager, a hunter of talents and an enabler of men and women.”

The Sultan stated that Mr Tinubu was a “sui generis” among his peers in the encouragement that he constantly gave to the Nigerian youths to offer their best in the service of our country.

You're right.

That's why Anambra has the best economy and infrastructure in Nigeria.

Even America wants Obi to replace Biden.

Gbajue Republic.

You probably don't want to believe it because of chest pains, but Anambra is the best economy in Nigeria. It's not the largest, but it's the best. Especially when it comes to the management of government funds. Send me a state better and I will show you the day Anambra loaned them money.

I'm from Imo btw.

Aza in benin is more like Account/Treasury House/Treasury Room or Save Box. Aza = Money Banking House (Owa Aza igho)...

It's quite different from the one from igbo.

Even the bini phrase you used, directly says 'Space where money accumulates' in Igbo.

Johnjustice:

Absolutely...I wonder why we have an economic team, Minister of finance, budget, economy etc, and end up listening to IMF

Are we okay?

the average educated african is well conditioned to think a particular way and that way is deferrence to the west. mental dependency on the west. need of validation from the west. The average nigerian is do different but you cant tell the average 'educated' nigerian otherwise. Look how happy we get when our presidential candidates go to 'chatham house' to talk lol. A whole sovereign country, happy that they're own candidates are going to another country to give a speech to others than they don't give to normal Nigerians. When it's time to campaign in Nigeria they start dancing and sharing rice.

I am a research on igbo cultural topics. 90% of the papers I read for academics will begin with 'The Igbos are an ethnic group in the south east of Nigeria'. I makes you wonder, who are they telling this to? LOL. But that told me that these people are mental slaves and they will always bend to what they're conditioned to bend to. You're probably self education (on top of conventionally educated) so you can see the stupidity but they really can't because ultimately the highest achievement in life is a white person (IMF) saying 'good job' and taking a picture with them, or inviting them to a conference 'abroad'.

Am telling you, the subsidy removed, individuals in government pockets the money, economy shrinks, small businesses shut down, unemployment skyrocket, no money to spend, shops close down, people are frustrated, crimes increase. IMF is not here, we should not be listening to people who are at the other side of the globe. All these tightening of people's disposable income will ultimately lead to a vicious circle.

Nigerians thrive on their own, as long as prices are reasonable, this extremely high prices will push many to act abnormal.

any country still getting it's cues for IMF in 2024 is doomed forever

Politics / Obi Would Have Been Perfect For Moments Like This by Ofodirinwa: 8:53pm On Feb 14
This is not a post to say we need Obi as president, but ironically, the nigeria is in the pits of the abyss because of over borrowing, under-productivity, and dollar hording by politicians and bankers. Obi's #1 contribution to Anambra was he was able to do with N1 what would have ordinarly cost others N100. By the time he was finished Anambra went from a low revenue, indebted state, to a lender of money with the leanest most logical and effective budget in Nigeria.

All while cutting no comfort for Anambra people. Nobody can say something they enjoyed was taken away by Obi unless it was something the person was using to embezzle money or defraud others.

The person we would ordinarily need at the moment is somebody who is exceptionally smart about spending. Tinubu has his strengths but his strength depend on borrowing and heavy spending. He's a 'macro' manager, not a 'micro' one.

But as for me, I am now BATIFIED so don't think this is a complaint

Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Crude Oil Production Dropped By 3,000 Barrels Per Day In January 2024 by Ofodirinwa: 8:48pm On Feb 14
onuman:

It shall fall to zero. Many Nigerian groups stick to the most dysfunctional country because of cheap cash from crude oil. All that exists for the groups is struggle for apex political leadership of Nigeria to control income from crude oil. Oyibo mines the crude oil, pay pittance as royalty to Nigeria 's political actors to form what looks like governments at various levels, the politicians stash away most of the proceeds from crude oil in their private accounts, leave the populace with no electricity, no treated running water, and starvation this time.

they won't learn until they are in the midst of hell fire, so I say let it continue. Unfortunately these people need to touch fire to know it's hot. There's nothing you can tell them

As soon as IMF instructed they follow... America subsidize healthcare, food, transportation, and pay their citizens social security payments, UK subsidize food, healthcare, transportation, social care...IMF didn't tell them to stop, even though America's debt is more than 20trillion dollars now.

What is the government giving back to Nigerians, as owners of this Commonwealth, what are Nigerians enjoying?

All the money Nigeria makes from subsidy removal, from expanded taxes... allocations to governors have increased, but the masses can't have anything.

Only local solutions will solve local issues, IMF is only concerned about collecting back it's loan. A government is not a company, the aim of a company is to make profits, the aim of a government is to take care of the people with national wealth, government take care of the people through welfare, subsides, direct payments etc...I don't understand this Tinubu administration at all. Electricity subsidy is one of the ways government impact small businesses and all Nigerians, if they can't power their small shops, or power their fan to sleep peacefully at night, they will turn to crime. Does this government really want to destroy Nigeria?

NIgeria will remove the subsidy, and pocket the subsidy money, so nothing changes outside of the nation getting more unbearable.
Tinubu seems like the time of dummy IMF can dribble anyhow because he loves psuedo intellectuals and can barely function

Also, people should stop using Zimbabwe as an example. Zimbabwe was embargoed economically by the US and UK and they re-marketed Zimbwe's currency because Zimbabwe gave stolen land back to blacks.

Politics / Re: Why Do Nations Borrow When They Can Easily Print Money? by Ofodirinwa: 10:55pm On Feb 12
If there's too much of your currency in circulation, the value drops.
If the value drops, the amount you wanted to create through printing decreases.

So if you need an extra 2 billion naira for a project, and you print 2 billion naira, the value of the naira drops and that 2 billion won't be worth 2 billion anymore.

The only way to balance it is if you are producing enough to make your currency in high demand. If people are scrambling to find Naira to buy your goods, the value of the currency increases. So that the 1 billion you are holding automatically becomes 2 billion without you lifting a finger.
