“In 2015, former President Goodluck Jonathan said his ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians. After him, another President ruled for eight years, and now another has ruled for two years. Nigerians have seen the difference, and the difference is very clear. Nigerians are now asking us to bring back our friend, former President Goodluck Jonathan,” Gana stated Comparing Goodluck Jonathan’s regime with Tinubu’s is like comparing light and darkness. Individually, one is a PhD holder with verified academic qualifications there's no ambiguity about his ancestry, identity, or certificates. The other is a known d....ló.rd, certificáte fórgér, and idéntity thi.éf. In terms of public service, the difference is as clear as day and night. Goodluck Jonathan came in with a Transformation Agenda. Life was more meaningful then. Even when he planned to remove the petrol subsidy, he did so with a human face rolling out SURE-P to cushion the effects. Nigerians were the real beneficiaries. Today, under the Tinubu regime and his so-called Renewed Hopelessness agenda, life is at its worst. Ironically, this is the same man who campaigned vigorously against subsidy removal during Jonathan’s tenure, funding protests and civil disobedience. Now, he has removed the subsidy without any safety net. And when Nigerians cried out, he responded with a few grains of rice and told us it was “a necessary pain.” like he came to power to inflict pains on Nigerians |

Politics › Jonathan Will Contest, Return To Aso Rock As President In 2027— Jerry Gana by Ofunaofu(op): 8:06am On Sep 29, 2025 |
Former Minister of Information and Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana, has declared with certainty that former President Goodluck Jonathan will contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and reclaim the presidency.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the PDP Niger State Congress in Minna on Saturday, Gana said Nigerians had experienced two other leaders after Jonathan and were now yearning for his return.
“In 2015, former President Goodluck Jonathan said his ambition was not worth the blood of Nigerians. After him, another President ruled for eight years, and now another has ruled for two years. Nigerians have seen the difference, and the difference is very clear. Nigerians are now asking us to bring back our friend, former President Goodluck Jonathan,” Gana stated.
“I can confirm that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will contest the presidential election in 2027 as PDP candidate, and we should be prepared to vote for him to return as President again,” he added.
Describing the PDP as “truly democratic and grassroots-oriented,” Gana said the party had always allowed Nigerians to freely choose their leaders. He maintained that the PDP remained popular because of its people-centred programmes.
On the party’s internal affairs, the former minister dismissed talks of crisis, insisting disagreements had long been resolved. “When there was a near crisis in the party, the founding fathers convened a consultative conference in Abuja and addressed all the issues. We are now prepared for the task ahead in 2027,” he assured.
He urged Nigerians to “shine their eyes” and vote out the present administration in favour of Jonathan’s return for “good governance.”
Meanwhile, the state congress produced Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Halidu as the new chairman of the party with 1,289 votes, defeating Zonal Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi (Ability), who polled 1,269 votes.
Other winners included Alhaji Khadi Kuta, returned unopposed as Secretary, and Mrs Salome Ndakosu, who emerged Woman Leader with 1,373 votes against Ramotu Jibrin’s 590.
In his acceptance speech, Halidu called for unity, urging members to “join hands in ensuring the return of a people-oriented government in 2027. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/09/jonathan-will-contest-return-to-aso-rock-as-president-in-2027-jerry-gana/

Una too dey play...come collect the name nah. What a request? Exactly, a perfectly reasonable one. When public figures raise ₦20.4 billion for a national project, Nigerians have every right to ask who donated. This isn't a private birthday gift it's tied to public infrastructure and national development. We're not asking for names to gossip we're asking for transparency. You think everything must stay hidden, and that's why corruption thrives. If there’s nothing to hide, then there should be nothing to fear. Simple |

Your Excellency Oluremi Tinubu, thank you for championing the National Library project.
Your decision to dedicate your 65th birthday to raising funds for the National Library is deeply commendable. Raising ₦20.4 billion in just a week is no small feat and it's a sign of the goodwill Nigerians still have for national development when led with purpose.
But now, for the sake of transparency, accountability, and public trust, we respectfully urge you to publish the full list of donors to the Oluremi@65 Education Fund.
Let Nigerians know who stood up for education. Let students see who believes in their future. And let history record those who gave not just lip service, but real support to this vital cause.
Too many public projects in Nigeria vanish into secrecy and suspicion. Don’t let this be another one. By releasing the donor list, you will set a powerful example of transparent leadership and public trust something our nation desperately needs.
With respect and hope, A renewed hope |

I know when the west wants to demonize you they tag you terrorist like they did to Mandela even though he later went on to win a Nobel peace prize Don’t deflect with Syria, we’re talking about Nigeria, not a war-torn Middle Eastern state. Stop trying to globalize failure just to make local incompetence look normal. It’s not. Imagine an Inspector General of Police giving excuses for why wanted bandits armed with RPGs, AK-47s, and heavy weaponry were allowed to stroll in for a so-called “peace deal,” only to walk out with their arms intact, kidnap civilians for ransom, and ransack entire villages on their way back. That’s not peace. That’s a state-sponsored surrender. The government is hobnobbing with bandits And please, stop dragging Mandela or the West into this. There’s a huge difference between political liberation movements and armed criminals terrorizing civilians. Nobody is calling these bandits “terrorists” because of some western agenda they’re terrorists because they terrorize Nigerians daily, with no consequences. Where is the justice for their victims? Where are the arrests, trials, and convictions? What exactly is Tinubu’s security strategy or is public mourning now government policy? This isn’t governance. It’s gross negligence. And if you only hold leaders accountable when it’s politically convenient, you’re not being loyal, you’re being complicit. |

Why?
He helped them solve the Assad problem they've been grappling with for the past 20 years and realized he became a terrorist because he also wanted Assad gone Syria’s conflict is a geopolitical quagmire involving superpowers, proxy wars, not bandits on bikes terrorizing poor villagers for ransom. There’s a world of difference between warlords getting absorbed into peace processes under global pressure and Nigerian police standing by as armed criminals, bandits with RPGs, AK 47 walk in and out like they own the place and then calling that "peace." Where’s the justice for their victims? Where’s the accountability? This isn’t strategy. It’s state-backed surrender. Politics › 2027: Jonathan, David Mark Disagree On ADC Ticket by Ofunaofu(op): 12:44pm On Sep 28, 2025 |
Jonathan: assure me that I’ll be the candidate Mark: Presidential ticket is open to all Obi also wants assurance he’ll be picked Atiku set to formally join party, declare ambitionThe closed door meeting between former President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, in Abuja on Thursday was all about Jonathan’s ambition to return to office as president in 2027, The Nation investigation has revealed.
But the former president’s desire to secure the ticket of the coalition party may have experienced a hitch as Mark pointedly told him that the only way his dream of picking the party’s ticket could materialise was to formally join it and also take part in a fair and transparent presidential primary.
With Jonathan failing to get a commitment from the party’s national chairman, the two statesmen agreed to “meet soon to review the matter.”
The Nation investigation revealed that not only Jonathan but also former vice president Atiku Abubakar and former presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi all want a definite commitment from the party on their presidential aspiration, but the new party leadership is not forthcoming.
The development is said to have accounted for their delay in pitching their tents with the ADC.
The Nation findings revealed that any commitment the three presidential aspirants make to ADC could be “fatal” for their ambition if they fail to get the party’s ticket.
They fear that committing themselves to the party without securing its presidential ticket could leave them “stranded or stuck politically”.
Jonathan’s audience with Mark, a source said, could be an indication that the former president is “not keen on running on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because the main opposition party has become too toxic”.
Insiders in ADC said the coalition is shaky because some leaders of the party are actually not ready for change in 2027.
One of them said about 65 to 70 per cent of ADC is in the firm control of Atiku, adding that what they are offering Obi is to be running mate. “No leader in the party is bold enough to ask Atiku to concede the presidential slot to Obi or Jonathan,” the source said.
It noted that Obi has been consistent in telling ADC leaders that power must remain in the South for eight years for the sake of equity, which is why he pledged to do one term if elected president.
The source added: “The supporters of Obi and Jonathan are insistent that presidency must remain in the South in 2027. We don’t know which doctrine Mark will come up with.
“As part of an unwritten deal, Obi has assured repeatedly that he won’t contest presidential primary election with Atiku or any election against Atiku in Adamawa State.
“He also said he will be on the presidential election ballot in 2027. It means technically, they cannot be in the same party except Atiku sacrifices his ambition.
“Obi has also said if he was Atiku’s vice presidential candidate in 2019, there is nothing bad if Atiku is magnanimous to allow him one term in 2027.”
The source noted, however, that Obi has a major problem with his supporters who have asked him not to be deputy to any presidential aspirant. Hence he finds it difficult to go back to them to say he has changed his mind as doing so will be politically suicidal.
Jonathan, the source said, fits the bill as a compromise candidate, but his strong base used to be the South-East which is now the political fortress of Obi.
He said some Northern leaders want Jonathan to spend one term in the office (the only constitutional limit left for him), but there are two hurdles before him, namely getting the ticket a la carte (on a platter of gold) and securing the overwhelming backing of the North.
“With Atiku’s control of ADC, it will be difficult for Jonathan to get ADC mandate.
“Atiku has not formally joined ADC because he was said to be doing his homework. He does not want to be betrayed like the case in PDP.
“He has invested a lot in ADC and presidential aspirants like ex-Governor Rotimi Amaechi can turn the table.”
Another source said: “It is not a bed of roses in ADC. The coalition is shaky.”
Situation in Jonathan’s camp
A highly-placed source, who was privy to what transpired between Mark and Jonathan, said the ADC National Chairman ruled out automatic ticket for any aspirant.
Mark’s response was said to be “not too convincing” for Jonathan and his strategists.
The source said: “His host was pleased to welcome him to his residence. He told him to join ADC if he wants to contest.
“It was clear at the meeting that PDP is not a likely option because of the plethora of cases and infighting.
“So far, the only option for Jonathan is to join ADC.
“Mark was, however, quick to tell him that there will be fair and transparent primary election.”
Asked of the meeting’s outcome, the source added: “They would meet in due course to review the matter.
“I think the outcome of the ongoing consultations by Jonathan will determine whether he will contest or not.”
Atiku to declare for ADC soon
Responding to a formal enquiry from our correspondent, ex-VP Atiku Abubakar said he would not put the cart before the horse.
He said it was taken for granted that he would join the ADC.
He said he was preoccupied with building the party before joining in Jada Ward, Adamawa State.
The spokesman for Atiku, Mr. Paul Ibe, made the position of the VP known to our correspondent in Abuja.
He said: “Atiku Abubakar is a committed and active member of the coalition ADC.
“Alongside other leaders, he has been vigorously working to plant structures and build a formidable platform that can liberate Nigerians from the urban bandits presently holding the country hostage.
“The process is well underway and will culminate in him formally collecting his ADC membership card at his ward in Jada, Adamawa State.
“Meanwhile, his focus remains on consolidating the party’s strength across the state.”
On directive to party leaders and members to leave their paties, Ibe said: “Atiku fully supports the directive without reservation.”
The ex-VP said he was not afraid of presidential primary election with other contestants.
He added: “What matters to Atiku and other coalition leaders is building a strong and credible platform to serve Nigerians. They are not putting the cart before the horse.
“His commitment is to safeguarding our democracy, which is under siege under Tinubu’s government.
“Once this disastrous administration is gone, the salvation of the economy will take centre stage. “The former Vice President has said he will run and encourages others to join the contest.
“But he is not putting the cart before the horse.
“The distraction about who is running and who is not is a ploy of the Tinubu-led APC to divide the opposition.
“We shall not be deceived, and we shall not fall for their tricks.”
Obi weighing options, consolidating political leverage
More than any leader in ADC, Obi is consolidating his grip on the South-East and reaching out to other ethnic groups.
He is also ahead of others in the social media for mobilisation for 2027 which may or may not translate to huge votes for him.
While he is still first rated among the Igbo, the low voters’ registration in his political enclave was a cause for worry.
Investigation revealed that most ADC leaders see Obi as an asset for representing a bloc in the country, but they are trying to persuade him to accept the VP slot.
A source said: “We believe he has the moral pedigree to lead Nigeria now than other aspirants in ADC.
“His greatest headache in ADC is the offer of VP, which his supporters are opposed to.
“When you look at the political matrix, he cannot go it alone as a presidential candidate.
“Again, the party platform is not there except ADC, which he is cautious about.
A WhatsApp message sent to Obi’s spokesperson Valentine Obienyem at 9.29am on Saturday was yet to be responded to at 6pm. https://thenationonlineng.net/2027-jonathan-david-mark-disagree-on-adc-ticket/

Politics › Kwankwaso: We’ll Welcome Them To APC As Madmen Returning To Vomit – Ganduje by Ofunaofu(op): 8:27pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and immediate past Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has said if Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and his followers defect to the party they will be welcomed as madmen who returned to their vomit.
Ganduje also took a swipes at Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. He described their politics as inconsistent and their governance style as “directionless”.
According to a BBC Hausa report monitored in Kaduna on Saturday, Ganduje spoke during a stakeholders’ meeting of APC leaders in Kano on Thursday. The meeting is the first of its kind since his exit from office. Ganduje dismissed speculations that Kwankwaso might defect to the APC.
According to him, Kwankwaso lacks consistency to return to the ruling party after repeatedly ridiculing it.
“We too have heard these rumours, but we don’t take them seriously. In democracy, there’s little difference between a fake cleric and a thief. Kwankwaso once said only a madman would join APC.
“He even mocked President Tinubu when he was contesting, claiming Tinubu only developed Lagos. Now they want to return. If they come, we’ll welcome them as ‘madmen who swallowed their vomit,’” Ganduje said.
On the possibility of reconciling with Kwankwaso and former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, Ganduje said it was not out of place, stressing that all three of them have governance experience to guide the current administration if unity becomes necessary.
Turning his fire on Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Ganduje described his successor’s administration as “government of vendetta and cluelessness,” accusing it of wasting resources and lacking governance capacity.
“When I took over power, I never wasted time probing my predecessor. Governance doesn’t end with one administration. But Abba Yusuf started his government with probes. Tell me, what have they uncovered?
“They’ve received more money in six months than my administration saw in eight years. Yet what have they achieved?” Ganduje queried.
He continued: “This government has no grip on governance. It’s like comparing a messenger with a permanent secretary. Theirs is a government of bandits, clumsy and confused. They spend recklessly on projects without value for money.”
On his removal as APC National Chairman, Ganduje said it was purely a matter of zoning and political rotation.
“The President did not wrong me. Leadership is by God’s will; He gives it to whom He wants at any time,” he said.
Ganduje further dismissed claims that APC was shrinking, insisting that despite a few defections, the ruling party remains the largest platform in Nigeria.
Neither Kwankwaso nor Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has responded to Ganduje’s comments as of press time https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/09/kwankwaso-well-welcome-them-to-apc-as-madmen-returning-to-vomit-ganduje/

Politics › Kwankwaso Denies Defection Rumours To APC by Ofunaofu(op): 8:31pm On Sep 26, 2025 |
A former Governor of Kano State and national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has firmly denied claims that he submitted a letter of intent to join the ruling All Progressives Congress.
He said this in a swift rebuttal to reports of his imminent defection to the APC.
This comes amidst rising political chatter early Friday morning, suggesting that the former Defence Minister had made formal overtures to the APC and had already begun talks with the party’s National Chairman behind closed doors.
In a statement personally signed and released through his media team on Friday, Kwankwaso refuted the claims, describing them as “online statements” lacking credibility or foundation.
“We have been alerted to some online statements suggesting that we have submitted a letter of intent to join a political party in the country,” the statement read.
“We would like to clarify that we have not made any such submission to any party. The public is therefore advised to stay informed of any further information regarding our matter through the established official channels,” he added.
The development has triggered fresh speculation within political circles, especially as the 2027 general elections begin to cast long shadows across the country’s volatile political landscape.
Earlier Friday, reports emerged from political sources within the APC that Senator Kwankwaso had allegedly sent a “discreet” letter to the party’s national secretariat indicating interest in joining the fold.
The reports also hinted at ongoing discussions between Kwankwaso and the APC National Chairman, sparking a flurry of reactions across social media platforms and party caucuses.
With 2027 drawing closer and the APC reportedly eyeing a broader northern consolidation, insiders believe both sides may be keeping lines of communication open — even if no formal letter has yet changed hands.
For now, Kwankwaso maintains that no move has been made — but in Nigerian politics, silence and denial are often the calm before a calculated storm. https://punchng.com/kwankwaso-denies-defection-rumours-to-apc/#google_vignette
