The young woman who was raped and murdered in Jos, Plateau State has been identified as Ruth Yakadi, a 400-level student of the University of Jos (UNIJOS).

Her corpse was found dumped at a car wash after Harris Filling Station, close to a bridge in the Farin Gada area of Jos North Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

The lady’s Pant underwear was hanging on her legs which were dusty.

According to An eye witness who declined to be named claimed that the victim earlier had a misunderstanding with her boyfriend said to be cultist.

"Tension mounted in the area as residents and students staged a protest against the killing of the lady but the protesters were resisted by security agents so that the situation does not escalate to crisis. It was alleged that the victim disagreed with her yet-to-be-identified boyfriend who is suspected to be a member of a cult group, he probably might have killed her and dumped the corpse, and hoodlums almost took advantage of the protest to attack people before security agents intervened," the witness told the publication.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the incident but gave no details.

Meanwhile, friends have taken to Facebook to demand for justice.

"I can't believe that you are gone sis. Your killers will never go unpunished, may soul rest in peace Ruth yakadi," one Vicky wrote.

A Man Identified as Ebuka Francis Ugwu, has allegedly committed suicide in Jere town, Kaduna State.

It was gathered that Ebuka, from Nsukka, Enugu State, died after he allegedly drank a poisonous substance suspected to be insecticide.

A Source who spoke to the roommate of the deceased told ROTV24 that the incident happened in the early hours of Monday, November 7, 2022.

It was further learnt that arrest has been made by police in Jere and the case will be transferred to the state CID for further investigation.

Meanwhile, friends and family members have taken to Facebook to mourn the deceased. One Jassy Chi, in her Facebook post, As Sighted By on Wednesday November 9, insinuated that Ebuka was killed.

"Ebuka y did u do dis to us. U left without saying goodbye. Death why Ebuka, God will fight for u. D person that killed u will not go Unpunished. His or her generation will be wipe away. Rest In Peace my big bro. Am so hrt broken right now."

Two 200-Level Students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) have been found dead in their room.

Corpses of the students identified as Decency and Victor were discovered after their neighbours broke into their room.

Victor was said to have vomited blood while Decency was said to have had white substance in his nose, fuelling speculations they may be victims of food poisoning.

It was alleged that they reportedly sent a motorcyclist to buy food for them and were found dead the following morning after eating the food.

PRO of MOUAU, Adanma Odefa who confirmed the incident, said;

“We don’t know anything about eating food and the bike man. All we know is that we found two students dead in their rooms, that is we know. I don’t know where you are getting the eating of food and the bike man story; I don’t even have this information."

Asked if there has been any medical report on the cause of their death, Odefa said;

“The police have taken their bodies to the morgue and anything left is for the parents of the deceased. We have informed the families, so we are not talking about this.”

Prior to his death, Decency was the incumbent Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Students Union Government (SUG) and was seeking re-election for the post.
