With a deep sense of loss, we announce the
shocking death of our darling music star,
Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday
after she complained of a severe headache
shortly after her arrival from the United States
where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed from her Park View, Ikoyi,Lagos residence to her official hospital,
Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where
doctors pronounced her dead on arrival at
exactly 7:30pm in the evening.
We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance in which she passed away; the abundance of talent she exhibited in her short but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters. We deeply sympathise with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage.
We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are devastated by the sudden loss.” Meanwhile, the remains of Goldie who hails from Ekiti State has been deposited at the mortuary of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos.
Goldie represented Nigeria at the Big Brother Star Game in 2012. Her latest effort, she
described as three nawti singles from her
forthcoming African Invasion album are
“Skibo”. “Miliki” and ” Got To Have It,” presently enjoying heavy rotations on radio and TV stations across the continent. Burial arrangements will be announced by the

This government is insensitive and wicked. It only serves itself and the rich. The government just banned commercial buses in Abuja. Their reason is that commercial buses increases traffic and makes cars experience traffic jam. This is no more okada, it is now buses.
People now walk for 3km and more in Abuja. Ordinary Nigerian are suffering for the rich to drive without heavy traffic. Where in the whold world is this done. Nigerians must resist these people or sit down and die.

nyabingi: Some days ago there was news about a certain ex band member of King Sunny Ade who was apprehended with drugs at the Airport. Nairalanders contributed so much on that topic that it got to an extent where some even accused the king of knowing something about the trade
but there is an update from the King himself!!!

King Sunny Ade's ex-guitarist, 62year old Fatoke Abiodun (left) was arrested on Tuesday January 1 2013 at MMIA with 1.575kg of cocaine as he attempted to leave Nigeria. Fatoke said he turned to drugs after he was unceremoniously retired in 2007 without severance pay after playing with KSA for 30 years.

King Sunny Ade has finally reacted, saying his former guitarist was not a member of staff of his company but just a member of his band, who was not entitled to a severance pay.

KSA speaking to the PUNCH said, “I pay salaries to the members of staff of my company. As for my band members, we share money based on what we make at every show where we perform. I would first of all, remove the money for taxes, equipment we used and other stuff connected to the performance. Thereafter, the remaining money is shared among all of us. Before now, I advised my band members that we should have a common purse, where we should leave money for welfare. But they refused and insisted that everything should be shared.

“If he and the others had agreed to my advice then, he wouldn’t have had any reason to say he didn’t get any severance allowance,”

On why he retired Abiodun, KSA says he changes his band members every three years in order to be current and follow the trend.

“But he worked for me for 30 years. Those who have even worked for me for two years are so well off now. How can he say he didn’t have anything after 30 years? Are those there now complaining?
“And to set the records straight, I didn’t sack him, he left on his own. We came back from an international show and he told me he wanted to start his own band and said I should assist him.
“Before I knew what was happening, he went to Ibadan with my guitar without my knowledge in order to start his own band. I told him to return my guitar and when he didn’t, I had to involve the police. That was how he left,” KSA added.
He said he had not seen Abiodun since he left his band in 2007.

“Anybody who is involved in any crime has it in him. It is not proper for anybody to say that it was a condition that led him to a crime. He was among those in the high category in my band. It is surprising that he claimed he had nothing. I have never seen or heard from him since he left my band.

“In the 30 years he worked for me, he never exhibited such criminal attitude. I am always concerned about the people traveling with me. I make sure we all travel light and get whatever we need for the performance in the country we are going.

“I have never seen cocaine. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink and we are always checked thoroughly at the airport here and at the airport over there,” he said.

How can a man give you 30 years of his life only for you to tell him he is not a staff of your company and as such he does not deserve any retirement benefit. Some Nigerian employers are wicked e.g, KSA.
I blame the man who threw away 30 years of his life to an ingreat who for 30 years did not see any reason to make him his company staff . What a way of saying goodbye after 30 years of service.
God will judge us.

I came up with this thought after I watched live on AIT the wedding of Gov. Okorocha's daughter in Owerri.
I this the most respected man in Nigeria is Obasanjo. I do not know if there is any living man in Nigeria who have equalled the kind of public respect and honour that is giving to Obasanjo in occassions.

Today is the fourth day that Nkiru Sylvanus, The Special Assistant to the Imo state Governor on Public Affairs and Popular Nollywood Actress, has been under the custody of dare devil kidnappers. The governor of the Imo state is yet to move to her community to lead the man-hunt himself, The inspector general of Police is yet to flood her community with thousands of eagle eyed detectives, up to 65 people have not been arrested, that is if any has been arrested.

The president is yet to visit her family and give them assurance of his release. The news papers and television houses have barely given the news any attention and all activities seem to be going on normally. The Kidnappers seem to be "LEARNERS KIDNAPPERS" as they demanded for just #100Million, they may not have known about dollars and pounds, but till today the government is yet to pay the little ransom or get her freed.

If we balance it on a sheet, more effort should have been made to free Sylvanus more than Prof Okonjo Iweala because the kidnapper may have little or nothing to do with Prof Iweala at over 80yrs, but one could not but imagine what will be happening to the mirror skinned, beautiful looking and young actress in the den of kidnappers for 4days. I refuse to have the dream of this imagination. Anyway, some may argue that it is still the 4th day. By the 5th day, if she is not freed, then the government may have to explain to us why her own case is different from that of Prof Iweala.

The bus was in front of the trailer,when the
police stoped the bus, so as to slow down the trailer with the intention to stop the
trailer,unfortunately the trailer failed it's break & lost control. The police ran away from the accident scene. There was no survival,the bus was the first bus to leave Sapele to Warri yesterday. It is believed that the police men are from Amokpe division.
Please good Nigerians should use their good
office to investigate this accident. The police have been stoped from mounting road block on our high way, but the police in Delta state will never comply.
What a wicked way to destroy lives. Please this accident report should get to the IGP.
